One man's trash, is another man's treasure.
(3-4)
Short story # 6
2,216 - Words
Fandom - House of Wax (2005)
Pairing - Bo Sinclair X Reader
Summary - The reader finds herself & her 4 month old son stranded in Ambrose. While Bo finds himself enamored with the woman, wanting nothing more than to protect and provide for the two of them.
Warnings - Some dark topics, talk of abusive relationships, eventual blood & death, eventual smut. (I'm not sure what else tbh)
Notes - At this point both Bo and (Y/n) are really feeling that connection between them.
Pt. 1 ~ Pt. 2 ~ Pt. 3 ~ Pt. 4
----
By the end of the day (Y/n)'s jeep was all fixed up, but with as late in the evening as it was she decided to stay another night, with some encouragement from Bo of course. While (Y/n) and Von slept soundly in the guest bedroom, Bo met his brothers down at the garage, discussing what they should do, and if they should do anything in the first place. "I don't know Bo, her ex tried killing her because she was pregnant... She'll be running her whole life from a man like that." Lester sighed, not wanting anything to happen to (Y/n). "So we let her stay here, we can protect her from him easily." Bo shrugged. "What about when she realizes what happened to the people here? Or she finds out about Vincent's projects." Lester argued. "We'll explain it, make her understand." Bo countered. "How?" Lester asked feeling a little concerned. "I don't know yet." Bo admitted with a sigh. "I think we should start by introducing her to Vincent." He continued his thought, glancing to his twin, who made an almost concerned groan. "If she can accept him, I'm sure she'll accept the rest." Bo lit a new cigarette after finishing his statement. "And if she doesn't?" Lester asked. "That's not an option." Bo's smirk made worry spark in Lester's heart. Despite this however he chose to keep his mouth shut, and allowed his older brother to do whatever he had in mind.
When morning came, (Y/n) woke up early and cooked breakfast. "Morning." Bo murmured with a sleepy smile on his face, having been woken from the smell of bacon. "Morning Bo, I hope you don't mind." (Y/n) smiled sheepishly as she looked to what all she had cooked. "Not at all." Bo shook his head, happily accepting the cup of coffee she handed him. "Great." (Y/n) smiled brightly, the pair of them taking a seat beside eachother, eating their breakfast in a comfortable silence. Excluding the occasional hum of approval Bo gave when he bit into something new. And by the time they finished Von began crying from upstairs, cueing (Y/n) to fetch him to begin his morning routine.
"Hey I was going to do those." (Y/n) pouted playfully when she entered the kitchen, finding Bo working on the dishes. "Eh don't worry about it, you cooked I'll clean up." Bo winked making (Y/n) blush as she sat at the counter, adjusting herself to feed a fussy Von. "My brother wants to meet you before you leave." Bo stated casually. "Really?" (Y/n) smiled softly. "Mhm." Bo nodded his head with a hum. "I'd love to meet him." (Y/n)'s grin widened a little, feeling honored that he'd want to meet her. "We'll meet him up at the house of wax in an hour." Bo confirmed as he finished up the last dish. "Sounds fun, I've never been to a house of wax before." She hummed as she propped Von onto her shoulder, burping him. "I'm gonna go take a quick shower, let me know when you're ready." Bo insisted casually as he moved to wipe the spit up off of Von's chin. "Okay will do." (Y/n) smiled with appreciation, hopping up from her seat to get herself and Von dressed.
Once inside of the wax Museum (Y/n)'s attention was drawn to just about everything within sight, making Bo chuckle as he watched her ogle everything. "I take it you like it?" Bo mused with a grin. "I'm a little obsessed, is everything in here really made of wax?" She asked turning to look Bo in the eye. "Just about everything, most of its wax, but some of it isn't." Bo shrugged a little. "The vase?" (Y/n) asked as she pointed to the large decorative vase. "Wax." Bo nodded. "The couch?" She pointed to the couch two wax figures sat upon. "Wax." He chuckled. "How about the...." (Y/n) looked around before realization struck her. "The building?" She turned her attention to Bo, her eyes widening when he nodded his head yes. "Wow that's insane." (Y/n) chuckled with astonishment. "But you like it yeah?" Bo asked. "I love it! I can't imagine how long this must have taken to craft all of this, but it's very impressive." (Y/n) beamed making Bo chuckle softly. "Vincent will be happy to hear that you like his work." Bo mused. "Wait he did all of this?" (Y/n)'s eyes widened. "Not all of it, but a lot of it." Bo explained. "Wow I wish I had that kinda talent." (Y/n) chucked softly, jumping when a statue in the back moved. "Alright no need to scare her." Bo chuckled with a shake of his head, the once statue approaching the pair. "I was not expecting you to move, I really thought you were a statue." (Y/n) chuckled nervously.
"(Y/n) this is my brother Vincent." Bo introduced the two, the masked brother timidity offering (Y/n) his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you." (Y/n) smiled looking at his mask with curiosity. "Is your prosthetic made of wax?" She asked without thought, but he only tilted his head to the side. "Your mask." She clarified, smiling when he nodded his head yes. "That's very cool, did you make it yourself?" (Y/n) asked chuckling when he nodded his head again. "You don't talk much huh?" She tilted her own head a little. "He can't." Bo clarified unknowingly making (Y/n) suddenly feel guilty. "Oh I didn't know, I'm sorry." (Y/n) ducked her head down, feeling stupid for opening her mouth. "Vincent do you wanna show her?" Bo asked his brother, who hesitated for a moment before nodding his head in agreement. (Y/n) picked her head up, watching in amazement as Vincent removed his mask. "Wow." She muttered under her breath, taking in the sight of his face, frowning a little when he looked away from her. "What happened?" (Y/n) turned to Bo. "We were born as Siamese twins, and our daddy was an unorthodoxed doctor. He was able to separate us as infants." Bo explained suddenly feeling subconscious himself. "Wow... That's incredible." (Y/n) murmured softly. "You're both incredible." She chuckled softly looking back to Vincent, who smiled back at her before putting his mask back on.
--Later that day--
Having decided on stay one more day (Y/n) sat with Bo in his living room talking about this and that, and joking about nearly everything. "(Y/N)!" A voice yelled from outside, cutting off (Y/n)'s laughter, a look of terror filling her eyes in an instant. "(Y/N)!" The man yelled from outside for a second time. "It's him... It's Trent, he's come for me!" (Y/n) panicked, explaining to Bo why she suddenly got so fearful. "(Y/N) I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" Trent yelled, sounding a bit closer to Bo's house now. "I'll keep you safe." Bo promised before he rose to his feet, grabbing the shotgun he kept near the front door. "Wait he's dangerous." (Y/n) rushed to follow Bo outside, leaving Von in his crib asleep. "COME OUT COME OUT COME OUT!" Trent taunted from the center of town, his attention turning to a pissed off Bo Sinclair. "Found yourself a gullible local huh?" Trent sneered at (Y/n) who ignored her fear and continued following Bo. "I suggest you get outta here and forget about (Y/n)." Bo warned, resting his shotgun on his shoulder, standing about eight feet from Trent, who only scoffed at his threat. "How about you go fuck your sister, and leave me to my business." Trent hissed, his words only fueling the hatred Bo felt for this man. "Your business best consist of you getting outta my town." Bo glared Trent down, who only chuckled. "Sure I'll get outta your town, once I have her." Trent pointed to (Y/n), but Bo only pushed (Y/n) to stand back a little.
"That ain't gonna happen." Bo shook his head with a mocking grin on his face. "How did you even find me!?" (Y/n) asked the question that had been plaguing her mind. "Remember my buddy Stan? I had him bug your car with a GPS tracker." Trent mocked as he flashed them the receiver of the tracker. "Now get over here." He growled as he pulled a pistol from the back of his belt. As Trent trained the pistol, Bo stepped in front of (Y/n) training his shotgun on Trent. "I'll only warn you one more time." Bo hissed, resisting the urge to just blow the motherfucker away. "Fuck you, you fucking redneck." Trent taunted before he pulled the trigger, but his gun jammed and Bo smirked. "Nah fuck you." Bo retorted before pulling the trigger, blowing open Trent's chest. (Y/n) screamed at the sound, her heart racing in her chest. Almost like everything was moving in slow motion, (Y/n) watched Trent's body hit the ground with a thud, dead as dead gets. Bo was quick to spin on his heel, gently setting the gun on the ground he scooped (Y/n)'s shaking form into his arms. "Sh darling it's alright, I've got you. You're safe now darling, I've got you." He murmured against the crown of her head, carrying her back into his house. "It's okay (Y/n), rest now. I'll take care of everything, I'll take care of you." Bo promised as he laid her down on the couch, lovingly stroking her hair, before he kissed her temple. The events suddenly flipping a highly protective and tender switch within Bo, not that (Y/n) was complaining in the slightest, taking great comfort in his words and actions.
A few hours passed and in that time, (Y/n) had calmed down, and thought about a lot of things. Bo had dealt with the body and come back to (Y/n)'s side within the first hour, allowing her to cuddle into his side and think. "Bo what is this place?" (Y/n) asked with worry laced in her voice. "What?" Bo frowned his brows, a confused smile on his face. "Please don't lie to me anymore, please tell me what this place is. This town its just not right, in all the time I've been here I've only seen you Lester and Vincent." (Y/n) explained, suddenly feeling concerned for her baby's well being. "I want to tell you, I've wanted to tell you for a while now... But I don't want to scare you away." Bo hung his head. "Not telling me is scaring me, Bo please tell me." She insisted. "You know I would never hurt you or Von right?" Bo asked, his eyes the tiniest bit glossy. "Of course I know that." (Y/n) licked her lips, ignoring the worry bubbling at the back of her mind. "The town been abandoned for a decade, me and my brothers took it over a few years ago." Bo began. "Brothers?" (Y/n) asked having caught the plural. "Lester is mine and Vincent's younger brother." Bo explained frowning a little when (Y/n)'s eyes filled with worry.
"Lester convinces people to come to Ambrose, and me and Vincent kill them." Bo revealed, his confession making (Y/n)'s breath hitch in her throat. "Lester called me after he dropped you off at the gas station, and he told me to help you out, he insisted that we spared you." Bo licked his lips nervously. "I wasn't going to listen to him, but when you didn't snoop around town like everyone else, I was curious about you... Then I seen you, and your baby, and any dark thought I had washed away in an instant. The more we talked, the more I was intrigued with you... The more I wanted to protect you, especially when you told me about your ex." Bo admitted, his words surprisingly soothing (Y/n). "I'm sorry..." Bo muttered under his breath. "I forgive you." (Y/n) smiled softly, sitting up she adjusted herself to straddle Bo's lap. "I forgive you." She repeated herself as she took his face between her hands. "You've been better to me than most people in my life, and while the knowledge of what you and Vincent do... Is almost heartbreaking... I forgive you. I know you won't harm me or Von, to proved yourself to me today when you saved me from Trent." (Y/n) leaned in and gently kissed Bo's lips, pulling away all to soon. "I don't want to leave, I want to stay here with you... To love you despite the things you do, to love you despite the monster you can be... I want you for who you are, darkness and all." (Y/n) confessed, making Bo's mind go hazy with adoration. "Please stay." He muttered subconsciously. "I am." (Y/n) rest her forehead against his, smiling when he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Demons II | Curly Shepard
Description: A short story in which Curly Shepard is forced to face the pain of his memories. It always gets worse before it gets better.
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of abuse
"Who the fuck took my shit?" Curly yelled through out his small cell while throwing things randomly, frantically trying to find his lost picture.
His mattress was pulled off his bed and his belongings thrown on the floor. He had looked over his stuff about 10 times and he still couldn't find it.
"Shepard, you need to calm down." the c.o says through the open slot.
"Shut the fuck up!" Curly yelled back.
Curly huffs out a breath before throwing a random item out of frustration. He slides down the wall, holding his head in his hands. Things had already gone wrong, now he lost her one and only picture that he had of her.
He heard the door open and close but he didn't bother to look up. He just couldn't wrap his head around how he lost the damn picture. He always kept it under his pillow, so he was sure he didn't lose it. He was betting that the damn guard took it to get under his skin.
"Curly."
Great, just the man Curly wanted to see.
"I don't wanna talk about my damn feelings right now."
What he wanted to do was find the God damn picture. He ran his hand through his hair as Doctor Anderson sat on his titled mattress.
"I understand that you lost something dear to you." Dr. Anderson says quietly.
Curly flicks his eyes up to look at him. He's angry, no he's pissed.
"I didn't fucking lose the picture.. Someone took it."
"What was the picture of?"
Curly shrugs. He'd rather not tell him who it was. He could guess who it was if he was smart enough but he knew that he'd start asking him questions.
"I'm not answering anything until I get my picture back." Curly says while throwing his head back against the wall.
It was hard, cold.
"Can we make a deal, Curly?"
"Depends on the deal." Curly said while looking over at Doctor Anderson. He wasn't an idiot, and he wasn't agreeing to anything unless he knew exactly what he was getting in to.
"If I help find this picture, can you speak with me?"
Curly licked his lips and bit on his bottom one. He could just bullshit his way through the therapy session, he was good at doing that. It would be a waste of time but at least he'd get his picture back.
"Okay, yeah."
Dr. Anderson smiled before getting up and shutting Curly's cell door. Curly sat up and put his room back together, carefully looking through every item, just to make sure he didn't look over it.
It seemed like forever for Dr. Anderson to come back to his room. But it had only been 15 minutes. He did come back eventually with the photo in hand.
"She's very beautiful." he said while handing the photo to Curly.
Curly gave him a half smile while looking the picture over. Out of all their memories, this was by far his favorite. Her smile had been sincere.
"She is, ain't she?" he says.
He tucks the photo under the mattress this time. Just in case that stupid guard wanted to take it again to give to the other kids in this reform school. He looks back over at Dr. Anderson and stands up.
"Well we got a deal right?" he sighs.
They walk to his office, this time he doesn't have handcuffs. He couldn't believe that this Doctor was such an idiot. If he really wanted to, he could do anything he wanted to him. How could he be so trusting?
"I 'spose you wanna talk about my episode from yesterday." Curly began.
He sat in the seat across from Dr. Anderson and crossed his arms with raised eyebrows.
"Not if you don't want to. We can talk about other things." he suggested. "I know you said you had a brother and a sister. We can talk about them."
Curly nodded and leaned back in his chair. He thought of the time where Tim was annoyed from telling Curly to stop leaning back in the chair and he kicked the leg which made Curly hit his head on the counter.
"Me and Tim don't get along no more. Got into about my broad 'fore I came here."
Tim was fine with losing people, he cut their loses and forgot about their memories. Curly didn't, he felt like you should remember those who passed.
Curly had a cat who ran away, Curly searched high and low through the neighborhood for him until the sun rose. Tim on the other hand got a good night sleep and found another cat for Curly the next day.
"Did that cause tension in your relationship?"
Curly smirks to himself. Did it cause tension? No it caused a fist fight.
"He said I should get over her, I'm only 17 and we probably would've broken up anyway." Curly says while tapping his arm. Tracing his tattoos.
"Do you agree?"
"No. I knew I woulda married her." he smiles to himself thinking of her.
He could remember every single detail about her, the way she smiled at him when he complimented her. How angry she'd get when they argued but made sure to call him later that night.
"You know you shouldn't blame yourself over what happened to her." Dr. Anderson says slowly. "I'm not sure what happened and I don't want to press it out."
He's careful, he doesnt want Curly to get angry and walk out. They were making progress today, a lot of it.
"Its my fault. So I do blame myself."
He closed his eyes as it came rushing back to him. The noise, the screams, her cries. Her blood was covering him, his shirt was stained red.
"What're you thinking about?" Dr. Anderson questioned.
Curly didn't reply at first. He needed to get himself together before he spoke or he'd choke. He took a few deep breaths, in and out, he told himself.
"When you hear those thoughts, you should try reassuring yourself."
"Reassure myself?" Curly scoffed. What the hell was there to reassure. His girlfriend literally bled out in the seat next to him while he couldn't do anything.
"Maybe you could try take deep breaths. Think of something else until the moment passes. Something happy or funny to you. "
Curly didn't reply. He had never really thought of it. He had a lot of funny memories, but lately he just wasn't in the mood to be happy. He didn't deserve to be happy.
"I think blaming yourself comes from a deeper part within you." Dr. Anderson said. "You said yesterday your childhood was bad after your dad died."
Curly again didn't reply. He was bringing things up again, making him remember things he didn't want.
"Curly, in order for us to really solve this we need to attack the root of the problem." Dr. Anderson explained.
How the hell did his childhood have anything to do with now?
"My ma started doing drugs with her boyfriend, Mike."
"How do you know she was doing drugs?"
"Because I saw her on a trip. She was out of it, man, needed to go to the doctors."
It was a nightmare for him. She was talking of things, really explicit things. Telling him about stuff only she could see.
"Were you and your father close?"
"I don't remember him much. Him and Tim were close..i mean I remember Christmases with him."
He remembered his old man getting him gifts and letting him get on his shoulders. But that was about it, anything else was a big blur.
Dr. Anderson scribbled in his notebook and looked back up at Curly to continue.
"Then she started dating Mike. He was nice at first until he started drinking."
"How so? Tell me about Mike. "
Mike was the darkness of Curlys childhood. He wasn't ever really happy since he showed up. He ruined things. His mother let him.
"Mike is an asshole who slapped me around as a kid. Before I could hit him back."
Curly could remember the nights he would cry on the floor because Tim wasn't home. Or how he'd get beat with the belt buckle for knocking into a vase. The bruises and welts that would leave scars.
"How often would Mike hit you?"
"Whenever I did somethin' wrong. Like knock something over or fuck something up."
"Did anyone intervene?"
He used to hide his bruises from Tim. Until one day he could barely walk because his legs and ribs were so sore. He passed out on the way to school.
"My ma knew but I hid it from Tim. I mean he found out eventually and got into a fight with him."
Curly flinched at the memories. He didn't want to talk anymore. This was enough for him, he'd just end up exploding again.
"I'm done talking now." he told Dr. Anderson.
He stood up and knocked on the door for the officer to cuff him. Curly was feeling sad, whenever he was sad he'd push his feelings to the bottom and kept moving.
It was something about actually talking about it that made him sad. And he wanted to cry but that isn't what he did. He didn't cry.
He sat in his bed and stared up the ceiling. And when the voices came, he thought of a better time. And it worked but just for the moment.

RILEY
By Johnny Bacala
His body is drenched in sweat, and his fists grab the linens of his bed. His head went sideways till he abruptly opened his eyes and awoke from his slumber. Another nightmare, he reasoned. He glances at his wall clock, and it's just 3 a.m. He only went to sleep a minute ago, which is ironic... He lets out a sigh... He stood up and went to the restroom. He looked at his reflection in the sink of his mirrors. He's thinking hard, since every time he wakes up from his nightmare, he doesn't recall anything, not even a fragment of it... He shook his head, opened the faucet, and let the water run before washing his face.
He didn't go back to sleep that night since he didn't feel drowsy. Instead, he just made his breakfast before heading to work.
Riley Moore is completely alone in his life; he has no family remaining because his parents were murdered in a car accident when he was still a child, which he has no recollection of.
He was raised in a foster home in the country, and no one wants to adopt him because of his strange demeanor. Riley is not like the other youngsters his age. He's quiet, cautious, and doesn't say much. Until he reaches the age of adolescence. He left the foster home, saying goodbye to the nuns who tended to him...difficult, but he doesn't care since he hasn't felt anything since he was a child. He lives in seclusion. Because of his obsession with literature, he didn't even finish his education. He learnt a great deal on his own...
Riley works in a downtown library. His shift runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. He only makes enough money to live on.
"Oh? Riley, honey, you're early. Don't tell me you got a nightmare again" --- Rose said.
Rose is the one lady who embraces him and assists him whenever he is plagued by his Demons... Riley is a shambles. Except for Rose, he doesn't let anyone into his life. Riley is also a gay man. It didn't disturb him, though. Instead, despite his daily struggles, he continued to live...
He simply nodded to Rose and returned to his station, where he swept the floor and cleaned all the books. Riley is a hardworking individual, which is why Rose is pleased with his assistance; he does not complain or react to his surroundings.
Riley is sitting tiredly on a chair, reading his favorite book after cleaning. The Art of Not Giving a Fuck. He's been reading this book since he was in his mid teens.
The bell rings, indicating that someone has entered. He got up and waited... Until he came upon a gorgeous guy standing in front of a shelf. He can't take his gaze away from him.
"Hey? Mr.? I'm gonna pay for this book."
When a gentle hand brushed his face, he snapped out of his daze. He flinches slightly before refocusing. The guy removes his hand; it's barely a second that the cute man touches his face, but he immediately longs for the softness and warmth of his hands, and the cute man simply stares at him as if he's the oddest person he's ever encountered.
"Are you okay man?"
"U-uhm y-yeah" the guy stop when he hears his voice
"Relax, Mr. Riley, I won't hurt you."
"H-how did you know me?" Riley asked the guy.
"Hmm nothing. I just know you." He smiled charmingly.
Riley's heart skipped when Rose showed up eventually.
"Who are you talking to?" ---Rose asked him.
"Uhm?" He roamed his eyes around the store and he didn't find the guy anymore.
"N-nothing." He blushed.
"Hmmm but your cheeks say otherwise." Rose teasingly smiles at him.
After his shift Riley went home. While walking he felt the brush of the wind through his skin.
"You're walking alone? I see.." he didn't respond, he just looked at the Guy walking beside him.
"Oh... You didn't even flinch..." He chuckled.
"What do you want?" Riley asked rudely.
"Nothing. I just want to join you..you're walking right?"
Riley ignored him and he just talked and talked and talked...and after that night ended he felt something... He looked in a mirror for himself and smiled for the first time because of that Guy… One week had gone and he was still expecting; every time the bell chimed, he anticipated to see the Guy, but then he was disappointed when he didn't.
Riley is cleaning one wonderful day. When the bell rang, he was unconcerned.
"Uh.."
he suddenly stopped from what he was doing when he heard the voice. But he shook his head and continued.
"Mr. Riley, e-excuse me."
He closed his eyes and his jaw tightened.
"What" he coldly asked.
"I just want to know what's the problem?"
Riley just rolled his eyes and shrugged, he walked into the storage room and kept all the cleaning materials he used.
"M-mr. Riley!" The Guy shouted to his ear and he jumped off scared.
"What the hell is your problem!" He retorted back but the Guy just smiled at him. Cutely.
"Hahaha! You're mad, I see." He even nodded his head.
Riley just massaged the side of his head, this Guy giving me a headache.
"Oh! Before anything else. I am Archie."
"Sorry.. I'm not...."
The Guy just laughs so hard until he catches his breath and even holds his stomach. Riley just frowned.
"Tsk" was the only last word he said.
"W-wait!" The Guy said.
"Wait Riley! You got it wrong!" He grabs Rileys' hand so he stops.
"Hahaha! I mean, my name is Archie."
Riley just scratches his nape and feels himself blushing and being shamed.
"It's okay R-Riley, there is nothing to be ashamed of."
The Guy---Archie softly said.
Oh no, he hates me already... he thought
They started hanging out when they got to know each other. They visit various locations, eat, play, and simply hang out. Riley, on the other hand, is disturbed every time they go out since everyone looks at them strangely... They act as though they don't have the right to go outside.
One day, Rose confronted Riley about his behavior.
"Riley, son. Do you have anything to say?" Rose asked.
Riley stops organizing the books and faces Rose..
"What do you mean?"
"Uh.. is there something bothering you lately?"
"Uh! Rose, direct to the point please?"
"I mean, don't be shocked but who are you talking to?"
"Ah... He--he is A-archie...h-he i-is my f-friend." Riley stuttered, shy and confused.
"Oh.. i-is he n-nice?" Rose aske teary eyed.
"Wh-what's the matter Rose?"
"N-nothing..." Rose left him with a soft smile.
Riley shrugged it off. He just thought that Rose was happy for him...
Rose, on the other hand, pulls out her phone and calls... She dialed the number for the Treatment Center... She went out to seek for Riley after receiving the call.
Riley is alone, laughing and chatting into thin air, and she is taken aback. Her tears started to pour as she covered her mouth... Riley is almost like a son to him.
She had no relatives or children, so when Riley came into her life and she learned about his background, she was both sad and pleased because she thought fate had a hand in it. Riley was handled as if she were her own and now, she doesn't know what she's gonna do.
Riley talk with Archie while hes cleaning the shelf,
"Arch, they're all acting weird, don't you think?"
"I don't know...maybe they're not happy seeing you with me." Archie replied with a pout.
"Nah! Nonsense!" Riley says playfully. "I think Rose will love you. She's like a mother to me, swear."
Archie just smiles and plays with the books.
Their bond lasts for months as Rose worries about how she will inform Riley that there is no Archie exists. Riley is the only one who is aware of what is going on. There is no such thing as Archie. They hung out every time they went outside. It's all Riley, all by himself... which is why people look at him as if he's insane...Talking alone, Hanging out alone, eating alone, but all Riley knew was he's with Archie..
The idea of Riley being out of himself doesn't sit well with Rose, so she seeks help.
"Ms. Rose McWorthy?" The nurse called...
She followed the nurse and got inside a room. She sitted and nervously waited. The Doctor suddenly comes and sits.
"Ms. McWorthy." The doctor smiled.
"Uhh..." She hesitates because maybe Riley will get mad at her but she has to do this. She breathes deeply, closes her eyes for a second before opening it again with determination..
"T-this is not about me..." Then she started to tell everything... After an hour... Their time is already done.
"I believe you have to set a schedule for your son Ms. McWorthy...this is painful to hear but some people who have Schizophrenia commits suicide..."
Rose didn't take it well, tears are running down to her face. She cried and cried. Pity for Riley...
The next few months, Riley always talks with Archie, hangs out with the guy who he doesn't know if it's real. Rose didn't take anymore...
"Riley, can we talk?" Rose asks.
Riley looks at Archie sitting beside him...
"Uhh..I'm having a conversation with my friend here."
Rose shakes her head and pleads. Until Riley stands and excuses himself to Archie..
"What do you want to talk about?" Riley asks politely.
"I have a friend who can help you.."
"Help me with what?"
"With your condition..Uh...R-Riley. Listen to me carefully."
Confusion was evident on his face. Riley is baffled..
"Your friend isn't real... It's all in your mind.." Rose sighs.
"W-what d-do y-you---Archie? Isn't it real? Stop joking! He's just sitting with me a while ago... And you see it don't you?" Riley raises his voice...
"No--no. I am not kidding Riley! He is not real! He is just a pigment of your imagination because of what happened to you in the past or what so."
"No! I don't believe you, he's just sitting right there! Right now!" Riley said while pointing at the door as if Archie was really there.
Riley rushes outside and goes to Archie.
"See? He's just sitti---" he was cut off when he saw in the mirror that there is no reflection of Archie sitting on a chair.
He again looks at Archie but the guy is just smiling at him. He just turned to the mirror and it still didn't change. There is no Archie sitting. When he turned his head back to the guy he was gone..
Riley just cried and cried...
"N-no! N-no.. this ain't real." He tiredly seated and brushed his hair with his hands. Frustrated crying. Rose was crying too and tried to touch him but he evaded it and stood and ran outside.
"RILEY!" Rose shouted...
Riley was at a loss about what to do when he arrived home. He is skeptical of everything he witnesses. He can't tell the difference between what's real and what's not... He wailed quietly, screamed, shouted, and threw anything he could get his hands on.
Everything transpired in his memory like a flashback of his life... He sobbed uncontrollably till he felt a hand on his shoulder. He was taken aback when he noticed Archie smiling at him.
"Everything is going to be okay...Everything's gonna be alright, just stay strong..."
Riley just stared at him and hugged him...
"Th-they say-said y-you're-not re-real!" He cried on his shoulder.
Archie just smiled at him. He let go of Riley... They sit together... Archie hummed a song to him. It's a song his mother sings to him when he's asleep.
Ili-ili tulog anay,
Wala diri imong nanay.
Kadto tienda bakal papay.
Ili-ili tulog anay.
ili ili tulog anay
wala diri imo nanay
kadto tienda bakal papay
Ili-ili tulog anay.
mata kana tabangan mo.
ikarga ang nakompra ko.
kay bug-at man sing putos ko.
tabangan mo ako anay..
kay bug-at man sing putos ko..
tabangan mo ako anay...
ili ili tulog anay
wala diri imo nanay
kadto tienda bakal papay
Ili-ili tulog anay...
***********
The next day, Riley was nowhere...
