Back to School Headcanons

Pairing: single dad!Frankie Morales x f!teacher!reader

Warnings: None!

Word Count: Super short, like 300

A/N: Follow up to my fic Back to School. I wanted to share these headcanons I have for the rest of the series in case I never get around to writing it. Enjoy! :)

After the disastrous first day of school, Frankie promises he'll make it up to you, even though you assure him it's okay.

He ends up becoming a star parent.

He's always on time for drop off and pick up.

If he can't be there, he makes other arrangements, meaning one of Isabel's "uncles" will pick her up instead.

Frankie is always there to help out in the classroom whenever he can.

Send out an email looking for guest readers? He's the first to sign up and brings in Isabel's favorite books.

Need a volunteer to help with crafts? He's there with extra supplies.

When career day rolls around, you know he's definitely going to be there.

All the kids love him because he's a pilot, which they think is the coolest thing ever.

And he's so enthusiastic and patient with listening to the kids' barely-related plane anecdotes and answering their questions.

Parent-teacher conferences!!!

It's your first real chance to be one-on-one with him and you're nervous.

Obviously, you keep it professional and stay on the topic of Isabel.

But at the end of it he asks if you'd like to go get coffee sometime.

As much as you're dying to say yes, you tell him you'd like to keep your relationship strictly platonic while Isabel is still your student.

And he respects your answer, of course.

You're afraid that will make things weird between you two, but, if anything, you become better friends as the school year goes on.

On the last day of school, Isabel invites you to get ice cream, and how can you say no to her? (She has those same, big, brown eyes as her father, after all.)

So you go with them and have a great time.

At some point, Frankie slips you his number and over the summer you two start seeing each other.

And they all lived happily ever after. The end. :)
