everybody clap for me. today i asked my surgeon to resubmit a referral that fell through in march for trigger point injections, and called to ask about getting set up with a new therapist after mine moved practices at the end of february & got put on a waitlist, AND i got over an EIGHT YEAR LONG MENTAL BLOCK and called my dentist to sheepishly ask for a comprehensive exam to get caught up on my tooth care.
the older i get, the less self care looks like lazy days & little treats & ignoring stressful obligations, and the more it looks like dragging myself kicking and screaming through all the tedious yet necessary bullshit of being an adult who's fully responsible for my own well-being.
#ctxt#gripping myself by the shoulders huffing and puffing 'by the gods we are going to get you adequate healthcare today'#at some point in the near future i'm gonna have to direct this energy towards 🤢 getting a job 🤮#but for now i've earned a rest and a cookie for being so so so sooo brave about taking care of my health & calling 5 million doctors

drinking games but taking edibles/parts of edibles instead
tedschlattreader gamenight? ted and schlatt ganging up on reader to make sure they get highest and take advantage of the situation
this came to me in a dream ☝️
ollie ur actually a fucking genius im gonna kiss u
CW: cnc/dubcon, intox
it was supposed to be a chill evening, you thought. playing games with your best friends was a weekly occurrence online, but the trip you and ted had taken to visit schlatt in new york for a while made the dynamics a lot different. for one thing, it was a lot harder to shit talk them when they were right in front of you. you never thought about how much bigger they were than you, but it was impossible to ignore now that you were around them for a week straight.
shaking off the thoughts you had about the size difference and how it made your stomach churn, you settled down onto your designated spot on the couch. you expected them to take their usual seats on either side of you, and they did after a few minutes of leaving you waiting. but they didn't come empty handed, and it was foolish of you to think they would.
they set a bunch of food items on the coffee table, arranging a spread that was beginning to look like a buffet. inspecting the labels carefully told you that every single item was an edible, and the realization earned a soft gasp from you.
"what the fuck are you guys planning?" you asked accusatorily. schlatt snorted and left the explanation up to the older man.
"we're going to play board games, like we usually do every week," ted started. "but instead of us taking shots or whatever when we lose, like we usually do, whoever lost the round has to pick one edible and either eat the whole thing or take a large bite, depending on the item. does that sound fair?" he glanced at you as he straightened up the countless gummies.
"jesus, how much did you spend on this shit??" you breathed, ignoring his question. ted didn't like being ignored, though, so he placed a large hand on your thigh and gripped it lightly but firmly.
"doesn't matter. i asked you a question. does that sound fair?" ted replied sternly. you nodded, unsure of why they were acting so different.
"don't act like you're the one who paid for this shit," schlatt mumbled as he sank back into the couch.
you giggled and relaxed as well, resting your head on his shoulder as ted went to grab the games. surprisingly, you felt pretty confident that you would be able to make it through the night with ease- you smoked a lot more than either of them, and that made you sure you would be fine, regardless of how many edibles you would end up taking.
but you were nothing if not a stupid, naive little slut.
it wasn't long before their plan became glaringly obvious: gang up on you to get you as far gone as possible. you were taking a gummy every ten minutes, and you had gone through at least two brownies by now.
"you guys are actually fucking evil," you muttered as you rocked back and forth on the floor. "what the fuck did i do to deserve this?" you asked them from your spot on the floor across the coffee table. you had eaten enough of the food that there was a good space for you guys to play a tabletop game now, and they had stopped trying to hide the fact that they were teaming up on you and were showing each other the cards they had so that they could maximize your punishments.
"nono, play that one, 'cuz i've got this, see?" ted murmured, pointing to something in his fanned out stack. schlatt nodded in understanding and plopped something on the table with a shit eating grin.
"take another one. we win," he bragged. you just hung your head in your hands and sighed deeply.
"fuck it," you whispered as you polished off a cookie the size of your hand. after finishing it, you clambered onto the couch and flopped face down, higher than you had ever been and desperate for some stability.
you heard ted and schlatt snicker before the older man joked, "look, dude it worked, she's already face down, ass up for us."
his words stirred you from your haze and you turned to face them, cheeks burning at how they looked at you.
"she's always ready for us, ted. our own personal little slut to share between us, she can't fuckin' help herself from showin' us her pretty little backside," schlatt teased cruelly, eyes locked on yours. you let out a strangled moan and buried your face back into the soft cushion, trying miserably to hide how turned on you were.
but they knew. they always know, it's their job to know. to take care of you when you get like this, to make you feel so good you can't speak. and you always let them. it's not like this would be any different because they got you belligerently high. if anything, it would make things much more pleasurable.
so when schlatt came up behind you and pulled off your bottoms, and ted pulled your head up by your hair so he could make out with you? of course you did nothing to stop them (how could you?). you let them manhandle you until you were nude on schlatt's clothed lap and ted stood up on his knees next to you, unbuckling his pants.
"dude, let me get her on my cock before you shove that thing down her throat," schlatt scoffed when the older man pulled out his length and scooted closer to you.
ted shoved him roughly, using one hand to keep you steady so he could slide his tip into your mouth. "shut the fuck up," he growled hungrily. schlatt whined angrily and watched as ted entered your throat inch by inch, admiring the bulge visible on your neck whenever he fucked deep into your face.
eventually, ted pulled out, smiling at the way you gasped and heaved, and gestured for schlatt to position you on his shaft, which he had brought out and was stroking at this point. he did so excitedly, groaning as you slid all the way down it before beginning to pump into you at a fast pace.
"easy, man, she's super high," ted warned him. schlatt just huffed and continued, picking you up and slamming you down onto him for a few minutes while ted watched and pumped himself in his fist. you were a wreck, wailing and moaning like they had never heard you before. your head lolled back after a bit, eyes rolling back into your head and fluttering closed as you sat there and took everything he was giving you.
soon, ted tapped him and signaled for him to help move you onto your hands and knees. it took a bit for them to get you propped up enough to be of any use, but once they did, they traded places. schlatt took your mouth, grabbing a fistful of your hair to use as leverage, and ted rammed into you from the back, harshly spanking you every now and then.
"fuck, she looks so pretty like this, doesn't she?" ted asked breathlessly.
"mm. looks like a slut," schlatt chided as he gripped your hair tighter. you whimpered for him and did your best to hold yourself up, but your legs were getting shaky, and you were about to cum for the third time.
"c'mere," ted leaned in, taking the back of schlatt's head and guiding it so they were locked in a sloppy kiss above you. the pressure of them leaning on you to be able to reach each other like that forced ted deeper into you, and you clenched around his cock as you sobbed through your orgasm.
you wished so desperately that you could see them making out above you, they knew how turned on it made you and it was truly malicious to deny you the simple pleasure of seeing them kiss.
ted pulled away and used his thumb to wipe the string of saliva that kept them connected from schlatt's lips. "i'm close," he grunted, thrusts intensifying until he finally slammed into you one last time and spilled inside you.
"my turn, move," schlatt grumbled as he withdrew from your mouth and shuffled to take ted's spot. a bit of cum leaked from your hole when ted pulled out and schlatt was quick to collect it on one finger and swipe it into his mouth. he moaned at the taste as he slid into you with ease and started pounding you relentlessly. his eyes screwed shut and he tilted his head back, letting the feeling of your pussy and his best friend's cum coating his dick take over him.
soon he was gripping your hips so hard bruises were beginning to form, and ted watched through lidded eyes as the younger man finally finished deep inside you with a loud groan. you collapsed as soon as he pulled out and ted immediately helped you to the bathroom, leaving schlatt to catch his breath.
once you were cleaned up, ted helped you find and change into some comfortable pjs and led you to schlatt's bed that they had decided beforehand you would all share tonight. he made sure you were settled with everything you could possibly need before returning to the living room to find schlatt staring at the ceiling.
"c'mon, man, come lay in bed with us," ted offered.
"it's my bed, asshole. don't invite me to my own bed," schlatt retorted.
"wouldn't be the first time," the older man chuckled before shaking his head and heading back to where you were resting.

Heavenly.
choi san x f!reader
genre: fluff
desc.: your boyfriend came home, feeling like the entire world is on his back. as a loving and caring girlfriend, you did something for him to make him feel not just "better", but "heavenly".
wc: 1,059
the hands of the clock told you that it's now 6:45 pm. then you continued washing the dishes. the sink's loaded after baking cookies for an order. you have been standing for like ten minutes now in here.
you know that any moment, your boyfriend would find you doing the dishes and would give you a warm back hug. as you were just thinking about that, you felt something pressed onto your body; arms wrapped around your waist, head resting on your shoulder.
you didn't even hear San enter the apartment, all you can hear is the flowing water—the faucet's loud as hell.
"well, good evening to you, mister." you greeted with a sweet tone.
you were thinking that he was just sleepy or lazy to talk, as how he always is when he gets home—but no, his head resting on your shoulder right now is heavier than ever. it is like the entire world is on your back. San is putting all of his head's weight on your shoulder but you didn't mind at all.
"hey," you turned your head to him, quickly finishing the dishes. "love, are you alright?"
you felt him shake his head lazily. few seconds passed and you are finally done with these damn dishes. you quickly dried your hands and turned around to see him; his eyes are half opened, shoulders almost dropping on the floor, and you can also feel the weight that he's carrying right now although you don't know what's going on yet.
"come here, what's wrong?" you wrapped your arms around his upper body, he rested his head on your shoulder again. "rough day at work? exhausted? tell me, baby..."
the caressing on his back made him feel calmer. San sighed so deeply. "i am not going to have rough days at work for a while because the investors in our company are now gone..."
you felt like tearing up when you heard that tone. it was low, and sad... this is your first time hearing your boyfriend talk like this and it's breaking your heart.
"oh, baby..," you gave him a couple of pats on his back. "you're going to be alright. i mean, it's fine to feel that way for now. but we're going through this, okay?"
"i know.." his tone sounded a lot better now. "it's just... i don't know, it kind of hurt me. I've been working for that company for almost two years now and it's going to close out of nowhere. i am just going to miss them. plus, i don't think i could ever stand being just here all day, doing and earning nothing."
"no, love, shush," you broke the hug and looked straight to his eyes. "come on, it's going to be fine. i will help you find a new job. but for now, the world won't end if you would just stay at home for a while with me, right? i will take care of you."
he painted an upside down smile and pulled you again for a hug. "alright then.. i just couldn't help but to feel bad. but I'm fine now that i head those from you."
"yeah..." you caressed his back once again. "would you do me a favor?"
you know so well that San is kind of workaholic... well, it's because he wants to earn and earn for his and your future together. he likes to invest in big things. he's been very helpful when it comes to financial problems, especially to his friends. that's one of the millions of things that you love about him—he is truly reliable, dependable all the time.
he can't stand it whenever he's not doing something productive. well, if it's not a job to work on, he'll be all over you; spoiling you, taking care of you as if you're a queen, taking you everywhere you'd like, just EVERYTHING. sometimes you'd feel bad because he's just doing things for you and often forgets to do something for himself, but then he would reassure you that he's fine and would finally do something about it just so you won't feel bad anymore.
"what favor?" he asked back.
"will you please stop thinking about getting a job for a while? maybe a month or two? just... i want you to get some rest, you need that. we have more than enough here, my love. what's very important right now is that you get some relaxation and time for yourself. everything's taken care of, keep that in mind. will you?" you asked him with the calmest, sweetest tone ever—the one that he won't even dare to disagree with.
he nodded, his head still on your shoulder but now lighter. "i will, baby. thank you, i love you. maybe i have been overworking a bit... i will rest for now."
"perfect," your eyes shined. you broke the hug and kissed his forehead. "now, come with me. i'll do something to make you feel better."
"but i already feel better—"
"just shut it and come with me," you glared at him, and he looked at you with his eyes smiling.
"how's that feel?"
San feels like dreaming — like he's on the clouds and there are angels singing for him.
he didn't answer your question yet. the whole bathroom is filled with nothing but silence.
he's like a child sitting on the toilet while you are shampooing and massaging his head. this is the kind of therapy that he's been craving for—too bad, why did you just think of it now? you could have made him feel good in this way before.
"hey? are you sleeping?" you whispered.
"i don't know what to say..." he whispered back, you almost didn't hear it. "heavenly..."
you smiled at the thought that maybe he's feeling so good. he really does. you're glad that you're finally making him feel this way...
"you should do this to me everytime that I'm taking a bath..." he murmured, eyes still closed. "will you?"
"you don't even have to ask." you replied. "i have been also wanting to do this but you take quick baths, how's that possible?"
he chuckled. "afraid to be late at work."
you two laughed silently.
"i'd do this to you as well, baby." he added. "maybe reward me with a kiss?"
"how many kisses are we talking about?"

❝ YOU'RE WELL LOVED, AND RIGHTFULLY SO, so that doesn't surprise me one bit. what it does do, however, is stroke my ego. ❞ curly locks are tossed over her shoulder and she shimmies them before her head falls back with a laugh. ❝ but i also feel like you're challenging me. are you? sounds like i've still got a lot of work to do if i want to be your number one. ❞ not that that's important to her, of course. when they were together, her competitive nature and desire to be the best at something was non-existent. all that mattered was him, that he was happy. regardless of where their relationship is now, that truth still exists. ❝ i think that has more to do with who you are as a person than it does me, but thank you for thinking so. ❞
her eyes widen slightly and she works to tamper her elation brought on by the words for you. ❝ really? oh, you don't need to do that. do people even like shortbread here that isn't in the form of the infamous girl scout cookie? ❞ she doesn't know the dessert market here. or anywhere, truthfully, but the book she read took place in scotland. which, if she remembers, is where that originated from. ❝ what if you go through the trouble and no one buys them? ❞ though it's likely just a blip in the overall picture, his thoughtfulness hasn't been earned. not yet. and the thought of him adding to his already busy work load doesn't sit right with her. ❝ actually, let your boss know that if she gives you the okay for that, i'll buy every single one if they aren't selling like everything else. how's that? ❞ that may happen anyway, but backup plans are nice things to have. she reaches out, a hand coming to rest on his arm momentarily. ❝ i'm looking forward to it too, truly. ❞
her mouth smiles around the words as her eyes narrow playfully, ❝ marcus, is this your way of telling me you dream about having three a.m. waffles with me too? ❞ should she be flirting? one could argue that no, she absolutely shouldn't be. is that going to stop her? no, especially not when not doing it means asking how many times he's dreamt of her since she left only to wake up again to her absence because she can't stop herself from being the curious cat. she doesn't want to be the reason for his hurt anymore. ❝ nah, but really. whenever works for you, works for me―and please know you don't need to wait until then to reach out either. not unless you want to, obviously. ❞
she chuckles softly, swallowing the declaration of love she has the urge to share. old habits die hard, she thinks, remembering all the times she'd just watch him exist beside her and suddenly become overwhelmed with tenderness for him that she needed to vocalise it; brushing his teeth half asleep, laughing at a movie, vacuuming, making them glass of chocolate milk and indulging her preference for crazy straws, tying his shoes, checking the produce at the grocery store, eating his favourite dessert... all the small, mundane moments everyone takes for granted. ❝ oh? well, in that case, i'm glad i could be of service. and i'm sure she'd literally never think you meant it that way, even if she overheard you say it. ❞ she's relieved to know his mother is the intended receiver of the flowers, though she worries how she might feel if she knew aurea was the one who put them together. ❝ you can be here with me for my whole shift if you wanted. i mean, i wouldn't suggest it because i think it'd be even more boring for you than running your errands and i'd probably put you and your muscles to work, but it's nice being with you. ❞ it always has been. ❝ is ma doing well? ❞
"Oh definitely. Don't get me wrong, it had some stiff competition, but I would confidently place it in my top five, and on the higher end of that as well." It wasn't as if other people hadn't made birthdays special before, there was just something about spending special occasions with her that made them shine a little brighter. The same could be said about any ordinary day as well. Marcus went back and forth between trying to filter what he said and simply saying what was on his mind. What he should and shouldn't say felt a little hazy in the midst of a conversation that made it feel like they hadn't just spent months out of each other's lives. He hesitated for a moment before letting out what kept bouncing around in his mind. "Well, you always made it easy. You deserve to feel special," because she was special, not just to him but in a general sense, "so it comes naturally." Even after how things ended between them and regardless of her reasons for it, he still believed and meant what he said. And he thought it was important that she knew that because as hurt as he was over what happened, he still thought she deserved the best the world had to offer. He felt his smile widen a little when she used the present tense as well as it fed into the hope that maybe they weren't completely out of each other's lives like he had believed before running into her.
He already knew they were going to meet up again in the future on a different occasion, but it didn't stop him from beaming at the promise and the smile paired with it. "In that case, I'll make sure there are some lavender and lemon shortbread things there for you." Even if the bakery didn't originally plan for the item, he was sure he could run it by his boss, who seemed fairly understanding, without any issues. They were going to have the right ingredients laying around anyway. There was another soft laugh from him as he got lost in the past again. His co-workers were no more immune to hearing Marcus carry on and on about her than his friends and family were. He was sure anytime she showed up at the bakery that they knew that the next few conversations with him would revolve around her, and as they got more serious, his excitement over their engagement. It only felt right to talk that much about who he loved. "You make a very good point. Assuming it's as successful as everyone is hoping it'll be, I might not get the chance to do much but wave back, but I'm looking forward to it."
The urge to thank her again came bubbling back, but he held his tongue this time and kept it to himself. It may have been a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but he appreciated that she wanted to offer an explanation and that it could happen on his time. Not that he had any intention on waiting too long if it could be helped, even if a part of him was admittedly a little nervous about what she might have to say. "As tempting as three a.m. waffles sound, I'll try to stick to a reasonable hour for both our sakes. I'd feel bad if I dragged you out in the middle of the night only to be half awake the whole time and not entirely convinced I didn't dream the whole thing up the next morning." Half a laugh followed his words. He meant it though, it was only right that he picked a time where he when he'd be alert enough to give her his full attention.
"Oh, right!" Unsurprisingly, whatever he originally came in for along with the rest of his plans for the day completely slipped his mind until she brought it up again. "You haven't wasted any of my time." He rarely felt any conversation he had was a waste of time, but the sentiment was especially true for her. She could've given him a detailed explanation of something he didn't have any interest in himself and he would still think it was time well spent. "You haven't really kept me from anything important either. I was just out running a bunch of boring errands today, so if anything you helped me put them off a little longer. Well, aside from this one. I can't see my mom being super appreciative of me accidentally referring to getting her flowers as boring or unimportant." He was sure she would understand that wasn't his intent though. "But yeah, I should probably get that and let you get back to work." He had also almost completely forgotten they were at her workplace until now.

New times calls for a name change. R.i.p wicked_sugar you served me well. But from here on out I will be known as The Oracle or since it would be far to easy if The Oracle was a still available it's theoracle-posts. Tribute and homage to the one and only Oracle in the Matrix movies, well the first 2 movies and the what the actress who brought the character to life the one and only Gloria Foster. I also didn't like the direction of the Oracle in the third movie and the actresswas all wrong. Now I know there was no choice...(or was there) since unfortunately Gloria Foster passed away, r.i.p (rest in power). But the Wachowski Sisters could of decided not to bring the character back at all. But I could bitch about the third Matrix movie for like 1700 plus hours so I'll just stop right here.
But this is for the Oracle in the first two movies. That wonderful woman who told Neo that by the time he got done eating that cookie he would feel right as rain.
Hold on I'm crying I need a moment...
Ok I'm back. The Oracle who had wisdom, compassiand, empathy and kindness and love. All things that I feel I've earned And learned over the last however many years that I put me in a better place. No am I ever gonna be as on same level as the Oracle. But overall I'm a better person. But there one ability she had that I will never have which is the ability to tell the future and see what will unfold before it does. Not that I don't wish I had that ability right now. Because I know what's about to happen in the next US presidential election and could be fucking telling people right now what the fuck needs to go down so if something horrible coming our way!!!
And if you haven't watched any of the Matrix movies please do. Especially the first one, even to this day it hits hard and good in the best ways. Like something new and different. Opening our eyes to what is real from the bullshit.
The other two I don't know if they're worth your viewing timeich or not. But if you're so inclined to watch all of the Matrix movies ok watch them all through. But the Wachowski Sisters who directed them got a little full of their oun special type of bullshit about what exactly the movies were about, even huge fans of them (me) at the time they were being released didn't know what the fuck it ended up being about at the end.

Holiday Cheer Up
Pairing: Bucky x fem!reader
Word Count: 1,150
Summary: Your friends kinda suck sometimes-especially today, so Bucky tries to get you back into the holiday spirit.
Warnings: 18+, smut implied ending but that’s it, lil angst but it’s more fluff than that, Bucky being a cookie loving sweetheart (soft Bucky is a warning, alright?!)
Notes: More of a self comfort fic because my friends canceled on me again and I’m just sad about it because it’s not the first, second, or third time this has happened. However, I’m trying to let it go and stop thinking that they just don’t like me or something. Anxiety is an ass. Anyway...😅
*Divider by @firefly-graphics !
It was the second time this week your friends canceled on you. An hour before they were supposed to show is when you received the disappointing text with an excuse that was as ridiculous as last time. With absolute certainty today would be the day, you spent your morning making adorable Christmas cookies, and right now you picked at the one sitting in front of you. You have gifts wrapped for them under your tree, too, which only makes the day sadder. And the weather? Rain? Naturally.
Mindlessly you scroll through social media as an attempt to distract yourself, but your thoughts drift regardless, a tear rolling down your cheek as you rest your chin on your palm. You sniffle and wipe it away, flinching at someone's hand tugging your sleeve.
Your tearful eyes meet an apologetic set of Bucky's steel blue ones, his hand sliding up to give your shoulder a comforting squeeze. "Again?" He asks, silently wondering how anyone could make you feel this way and damning them for doing so.
"It's okay. I should be used to it," you sigh, returning to your scrolling.
"No, you shouldn't," he disagrees, shaking his head. "You put in all this effort for them, and they don't ever do the same for you."
"That's not the point, Bucky," you argue.
"That is the point. You deserve better." He squeezes your shoulder once more, securing his arm around you to hold you close. A minute passes where you're just staring at your phone with tears running over your flushed cheeks, but you exhale a stuttered breath, getting up from your seat.
"I'm gonna trash these." You start to walk towards the cookies but before you reach the counter he stops you, cocking an eyebrow. "I made these for people who didn't show. Kinda ruins the taste for me."
He plucks a cookie from the tray, popping it into his mouth. "Not for me. They're damn good, still." He slides the tray towards him and you sigh again.
"I used to do this with my old friends every year, so I feel like I've ruined the tradition."
"Then we'll make it our tradition." A lopsided grin appears on your face, earning a smile from him that makes his eyes light up and crinkle at the corners. "There's my girl." He grabs another cookie, taking your hand with his free one and leading you out of the kitchen to his bedroom. "Come on, I got somethin' to show you."
He stops at the entrance and hesitates, releasing your hand and resting his fingers on the knob. Shoving the extra cookie in his mouth he looks back at you and opens the door.
A Christmas tree about your height sits in the corner with sloppily half strung lights, more of them piled on the floor than on the tree. Stockings are pinned randomly on each wall, an unopened box of ornaments sits on the nightstand, and the TV is playing a Christmas film on mute.
"I wanted to cheer you up by surprising you but it turns out that I am really not good at all of-" He gestures towards his decorating, "-this." He looks down at his shuffling feet and your eyes tear up again, only this time it's because you're in awe.
"Bucky, this is so sweet I...don't even know what to say." You reach for his hand. "Except maybe, what happened?" You chuckle at the tree, crouching down to inspect the forgotten strands of lights on the floor.
"We didn't have lights," he answered quietly. You turn to him. "Back then. It was just tinsel. But when the sun came through the windows it made the tree shine, so it was kinda like having lights." Your heart lurches at his shared memory and you stand up to hug him.
"So you want me to help you?" You ask, pulling away with a new glimmer of hope in your eyes.
"Please?" You laugh and run your hands up his chest to link around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss.
"Yes Bucky, I'd be happy to."
For the next hour you teach him how to string lights, but you absolutely cannot let the haphazard room décor go. He laughs and agrees that maybe the stockings shouldn't be placed there or that okay yeah maybe the lights didn't look so great on the tree as his first attempt. But that's why he has you, a girl with a penchant for Christmas decorating and a sneaky way of thawing out his heart.
You strategically place three stockings along his TV stand; a red one for Sam, a white one for you, and a blue one for Bucky. Both of you take a minute to admire your hard work, but there's one little thing you've forgotten about.
"Ohhhhh wait wait wait, I'm not done!" He tilts his head and watches you scramble for the door, reaching up to pin the faux mistletoe you had shoved in your pocket earlier to the top of the door frame. But even on your tiptoes you can't reach it.
A metal arm wraps around your waist and a flesh hand covers yours, successfully snatching the mistletoe and pinning it right above your head. He spins you around in his grip and hoists you up against the door frame, your legs instinctively anchoring around his body while he dives in for a kiss.
He doesn't stop there.
You giggle as he places a kiss to your cheeks, your forehead, the tip of your nose, your neck, and finally your lips again, releasing you only to push a strand of hair behind your ear.
"I'm sorry your friends hurt you, but I'm more sorry for them missing out." You shy away, but his hand hooks under your chin to make you look at him. "I had a lot of fun with you today. I've never been excited for Christmas like this in my hundred years of living, so I want to thank you for making me feel this way."
You embrace him tighter and vow in your mind to never let this sweet boy go. "Thank you for cheering me up. You went through all this trouble and you didn't even have to." His hands slip beneath your butt for better support and he leans back to gaze at you.
"I wanted to."
Your hands run through his hair, gently tugging him back in for another cookie flavored kiss.
"So," he starts, rubbing his nose against yours. "Is the mistletoe only good for this one spot or do I have to bring it to bed to kiss you there, too?" You throw your head back and giggle.
"Like you need an excuse to kiss me?"
He smirks, kicking the door shut and giving your ass a light spank, emitting a surprised yelp from you.
"I wasn't talking about your mouth."

Yoo! First of all, I just have to say that ur stories are amazing, they always brighten up my day!! I always start grinning like an idiot when you post ngl XD I wanted to ask you if you could do a grandad!Tea Knight cookie x child!reader (platonic ofc) but the child does not have any parents, and Tea knight takes care of them :> Thanks in advance🫂
A lovely visit
{ grandpa tea knight and child reader!}
[ A/N: before anything..yes i know I've been gone for a long time it's because it's almost the end of my school year meaning I've been extra busy with that being said i appreciate that people like you are enjoying what i write! My day gets better when I read that people are enjoying my stories!]
▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Tea knight cookie was resting at home..and boy was he tired, but also worried that his grandchild hasn't visited him in days
So much so that he thought of the worst!.. maybe they had been attacked..or worse taken away!.. his histeria came to a quick halt when he heard a knock on his door..he got up from his chair to go receive whoever was at the door..
“Hi grandpa!”
What a lovely visit! His grandchild! His worries were wiped off now that they were there
"why hello there [y/n], come in..!”
He said moving aside so you could step inside, you always loved going to your grandpas house he would tell you old tales, help him around and spend the day together.
Today you had brought some baking supplies from the store! You had saved up enough money for everything you needed it took days of saving up Penny's but it was more than worth it!
"Quite a surprise you came to visit [y/n],tell me how've you been these couple of days?"
Your grandpa spoke as he saw you hurry your way to the kitchen to make sure you don't drop anything
"it was okay! A bit lonely though"
You said all the way from the kitchen as he stood in the living room, he frowned at your response.. technically..tea knight cookie isn't your actual grandpa..he found you a year ago when you were lost and since then you've become attached, in that period he also learned that you didn't know who your parents were..he is sure they didn't stick much either in your earlier years..
So people kind of found it sierra that you called him grandpa, the two of you were nothing alike, neither in looks or personality..but it mostly didn't matter to you, you were just happy to have someone to look up to..wait is something burning?..
You looked down at the oven and instantly began to panic, turning the it off you saw that your cake had indeed burned.. you began to sulk, all hard earned money was now wasted..
“[y/n]? Is everything alright? i smelled something burning”
Tea knight had walked in and saw you sulking on your knees in front of the oven where you saw with undying sadness the burned cake
He slowly walked up to you and picked you up from the waist
"c'mon now, there's no need to be sad..! We can go to the near bakery and buy something from there, we'll drink tea with sweet's, how's that sound?"
He tried to cheer you up which slightly worked
“soo.. were having a tea party?"
You asked with excitement and your grandpa chuckled and nodded..yes!
▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
After the two of you had brought the fresh biscuits and slices of cake from the bakery, tea knight had began to brew some tea while he kept an eye on you, he watched you set up the table and he began thinking..
< they're so sufficient at such early age.. maybe they can take of themselves.. maybe they don't need the offer to stay here.>
His thoughts came to a stop when he heard the water boil in which he turned off the stove and began to prepare the tea..by the time he had finished you were already waiting patiently at the table.
The two of you were having a good time with eachother, talking about friends, about things you've done a few days back.. when he suddenly asked something you've been waiting for awhile
“say [y/n]..i know you're far more capable of taking care of yourself, but i would like it if you come live with me?..i can't help but get worried when you live by yourself”
You sat up from your chair in excitement
“yes! I want to live with you grandpa! I want to learn more about everything you had been through!”
He was glad you've accepted the request, he chuckled at your response, classic child enthusiasm
“now finish your tea before it gets cold hehe”
It was a lovely visit from you after all

falling in love with a single mom hcs
INCLUDES: nishinoya, tsukishima, yaku
you spent a good part of your childhood with nishinoya, chasing away the dogs that had a penchant of scaring your best friend shitless, climbing trees and playing treasure hunt
it was funny, to say the least, seeing how he grew from such a scaredy-cat to the energetic and confident noya everyone knows
throughout highschool you watched him chase girl after girl and he watched you turn down guy after guy
the dynamic you two had was that of a feral gremlin child and its chill owner holding the leash and everyone, including you two, thought you would always be together
everyday was fun with nishinoya's energy hanging around you, no doubt
but when he asked you to travel the world with him right after graduation, he was met with a hesitant refusal
"i'm planning to go to college, yuu"
"it'll be fun, y/n! like going on an adventure!!"
"visit me once in a while"
his heart clenched at the way you smiled at him with teary eyes, "i can't change your mind can i?"
with a soft shake of your head, he sighed
he leaves in three days
the first few months of him being away were filled with calls and pictures of his trips, smile seemingly wider and brighter than before and a part of you regretted not coming with him
but college starts in a week, and with that came missed calls and ignored messages
at some point, neither of you just remembered to hit the other up, caught up with the stresses of your own life and before either of you knew it, 5 years have passed
he came to visit home for the first time in years, no longer the boyish noya you knew but he still had that warm aura around him
you were the first thought to come to mind the moment he step foot in town, his whole body buzzing with excitement at the mere thought of seeing you again
so of course he went straight to your house, feet taking step after memorized step and hands clutching bags of things he got from his travels
"Y/N!!!!!", he calls out as he enters your house which was answered with a harsh shushing
turning a corner he saw you in the living room, lovely as ever-- he thought, and with a baby sleeping soundly in your arms, "the baby's sleeping, yuu"
"whose...?"
you laughed at the cracking in his voice, "mine, who else's?"
man, he looked like he was about to cry
he quietly approached you, careful as to not wake the baby
"for you", he mumbled while handing you the bag of snacks and stuff
the room was filled with silence after you hummed a short thanks
he was looking at the child's face, it looked like you, he thinks
he asked when you got married, "you didn't tell me, didn't even invite your best friend to your wedding", he whined
"i didn't, i'm not married"
his eyes were wide as they looked at you
you told him about getting pregnant shortly after college graduation and getting ditched
he thought of himself selfish as he heaved a sigh of relief
"it's fine though, my parents are helping me a lot", he notes how you looked at your baby with such fond eyes and his heart swelled, he felt like crying
you chuckled at the look on his face, "hey don't look so sorry for me, can't be happier to have her"
"what's her name?"
you looked at your daughter's face and pet at her cheek with a finger, "yui"
nishinoya couldn't hold it in anymore and so he let himself cry and pulled you close
and for the nth time since the day of your college graduation he asked you again, "come with me, y/n, let's travel the world" but you have a child "i'll stay with you here until she's old enough", he said while kissing the tears that slipped down your cheeks
"then we can all go travel the world together"
he liked working at the museum, he really does
at least that's what he tries to tell himself as he led the group of preschoolers through the sendai museum
they were cute, yeah, but also very chatty
especially this one little boy with the frog hat
"what's this called?"
"it's a fossilized remain of--"
"how about this one?"
"it's--", and before he could answer, the child was already running to the other side of the exhibit
he just sighs
the tour ended and he was getting ready for his lunch break, proceeding to the cafe by the entrance as he always does
his eyes almost caught the flurry of green that passed beside him but he chose to ignore it
but of course it wasn't long after he sat down with his order when he heard a familiar bubbly voice
"mama that's the dinosaur guy!", he heard the little boy whisper loudly, "he's so tall, like a brachiosaurus!"
he couldn't supress the chuckle at the child's remark and he turned in his seat, "so you were listening, i thought you were just bouncing all around the place"
"oh sorry, did he give you a hard time?"
your voice drew his attention and he smiled at the sight of your worried face, something that surprised even him, "not really, no"
he invited you two to sit and eat with him and he listened to your son ramble all about dinosaurs and prehistoric animals
"a smart one, i like him"
your son really liked him too and asked you to take him to the museum again and see tsukishima
and so it became a habit for you to visit the museum every friday with the little boy, waiting for the tall blonde to get off work so you three could grab something to eat
and every time he sees you in the little cafe by the entrancne with your son, tsukishima couldn't help but smile a little and pat at his chest to calm the subtle fluttering as he push the door open
it was a weird feeling he never knew would come so naturally at the mere sight of you two
he bought your son picture books and and figurines and copies of the "walking with dinosaurs" documentary
"we should watch it this weekend..." his eyebrows shot up for a moment at your meek suggestion
of course the little boy was elated, excited to have him over at your house "yes! let's go now! i wanna watch it with tsukki now!!!"
tsukishima returned his gaze on you, "if it's not too much trouble then i'd love to go now"
and so the rest of the friday night was spent on your couch with all the lights turned off and a narration of al the allosaurus' life
you looked over at the other side of the couch to see your son laying on tsukishima, eyes fluttering shut with the man passed out and lightly snoring
he must've been tired
you draped a blanket over the two of them and waited for sleep to visit you too and it soon did
morning came and you woke up to the smell of coffee
"i borrowed your coffee maker, i hope you don't mind", his voice was still low, trying not to wake the little boy
"yeah, sorry i didn't wake you up last night... you looked tired"
he chuckled as you walked over to the kitchen to take out two mugs and prepared some toast, "i don't mind, it was the best sleep i've gotten in a while. i hope it wasn't too much of a bother for you though"
you leaned on the kitchen counter as you took in his appearance; hair ruffled and eyes puffy with sleep, "i don't mind it one bit"
he huffed a laugh and looked over to the sofa where your son still laid
"he likes you a lot"
"so it seems, i hope you do too", his face was smug but you didn't miss the red that tinted his cheeks when you told him "of course i do, in fact i was thinking maybe we should do this more often"
his smirk grew, "just say you want to wake up everyday to the sight of me and leave it at that"
you rolled your eyes at his comment but smiled nonetheless, "oh shut up"
he had just come back from the nekoma volleyball team reunion, head lightly buzzing from the few bottles of alcohol kuroo forced down his throat
making his way through the carpeted hotel hall, he could barely make out the sound of little feet hurriedly padding on the floor and quiet sniffles
taking out the keycard to his room with the blissful thoughts of finally sinking into the soft mattress was interrupted by a soft bump on his thigh, a muffled thud and a small "ow..."
it took a few moments before the sight of the little boy on the hotel floor registered properly in his brain
it was well past 2 am... why the hell is there a child running around the halls
"uh... hi?"
big bright eyes looked up at him and he can't help but sigh at the sniffles increasingly growing louder
"where's your mama, little guy?", yaku crouched to the little boy's level, careful to keep his balance as the booze and exhaustion was catching up to him
however, at the mention of his mother, the little boy's eye filled up with more tears and was ready to burst anytime, "mama..."
"oh no no no no"
yaku's too tired for this
so with a sigh and a groan, he took the boy in his arms and entered his room
"let's look for her in the morning, okay? i think i still have some cookies in my room, would like some?"
the little boy nods his head, earning a relieved sigh from yaku
the rest of the night was spent with cartoons playing on the large hotel room tv, yaku leaning against the headboard with the little boy snoozing away while being tucked in his arm, cookie on his hand and crumbs all around
morning came and panic surged through your body the moment you realized your 3 year-old son was nowhere inside your hotel room
your hurried to the security desk to report and hopefully make an announcement, head reeling and aching with the sudden rush of adrenaline first thing in the morning
with your head in your hands, you let out a groan while trying not to cry at all the possibilites flashing through your mind
your wallowing was cut short with an "excuse me, i found this child last night"
turning your head back to the security desk, you see a man in his pajamas and slippers, hair ruffled from sleep and a sleepy little boy laying on his shoulder
"oh my god"
the whole conlict ended when you came up to them and introduced yourself, the little boy quickly recognizing your voice and whipped his head over to you, "mama!"
your son reached out for you and yaku couldn't help but notice how pretty your glossy eyes were despite how disheveled you looked
"mama, yakkun gave me cookies and we watched cartoons aaaaall night!"
yaku's eyes widened at the little boy's words and let out a nervous chuckle, "you make me sound so suspicious"
he turned to you and explained how your son bumped into him at 2 am and he was just too tired to bring him down to the security desk
"my tired tipsy brain thought it was a better idea to just let him sleep in my room and look for mama in the morning", he ended with the tips of his ears tinged red
you laughed at his nervousness, "well we can talk more about it over breakfast, what do you say yakkun? my treat"
with the way you were smiling at him, how could he even refuse?
the rest of the morning was spent with coffee and waffles, juice and fruits and chatter
he learned you and your son were in town for a few days, "i wanted to go see the fishies in the aquarium!", the little boy quips
with the new volleyball season just around the corner, yaku knew he'd have practices but he offered to tour you two around tokyo
he wanted to see you two again
briefly taking care of the toddler last night and having breakfast with you, he realized, were very much a welcomed change of pace in his hectic pro volleyball life
"are you my dad? mama told me daddy was working in tokyo" he remembered your son quietly mumbling last night, "i haven't seen him though, not ever"
the rest of your stay in tokyo was spent hanging out with yaku, your son growing more and more attached to him and slept over at his room every night
as promised, he took you and your son on a tokyo tour and even brought you to practice, introducing you to the national team and teaching your child receives
of course your trip eventually reached its end, promises of meeting again drowned in the little boy's tears as he tried to reach out to yaku
"we'll meet again, little guy", he says while ruffling the boy's hair, "i'll even go visit you and we'll play lots, okay?
of course he made a point of contacting you frequently, often video chatting during meal times and bedtime and a few more hours after, relishing in the time he could spend talking alone with you
"i can't wait to see you two again", he always says right after "good night"

“And the Artist Of The Year Award goes to none other than...” the announcer said, keeping you all at the edge of your seats. Everyone here had voted for Jake so many times so that he would win. The announcer looked at the folded card in his hand before smiling and saying.
“Jake Sim!” The screams of everyone in the beer parlour with you watching the award ceremony were probably louder than those in the venue itself. You all watched in pride as the look of shock was evident on his face and he shakily walked to the podium to collect the award. You smiled at how good he looked, he had come so far from the boy you once knew here.
Five years ago, Jake had left his hometown, where he grew up for 18 years to pursue his dream. Granted, not everyone is supposed to stay for the rest of their lives but he thought he was going to stay but he made up his mind to leave for his passion. You all supported him even if you weren’t able to talk to him because of his busy schedule. Being able to cheer him from the sidelines was what you were content with. He was the pride of the town and people did not hesitate to show him off.
He gave the announcer a bow and collected the award. You could see the way his hands shook as he collected the award as if it felt unreal that he won.
“I would like to thank God for the ability to get to this point today and to thank my parents for always teaching me the right way and having the courage to let their child pursue his dreams even if it meant that I would be very far away; almost out of reach even. I love you. To all those that have continuously supported me and listened to my music, thank you. To the staff that have worked so hard and everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting, a big thank you to you" he said and walked off.
The excitement of the crowd reduced and everyone eventually retired to their homes while chatting amongst themselves. You think about the award one more time, feeling happy for him and move on. After all, the same way Sim has a life to live is the same way you do also.
The next day, when you wake up you feel a shift in the atmosphere. The birds are still chirping, yes but something feels unusual. You brush off the paranoia you feel and decide to do your usual morning duties and carry on with your day. While other people your age wanted to have prestigious jobs(not like there was anything wrong with that), you wanted something simple and had decided on being either a cafe owner or a florist.
Sadly, the cafe owner agenda wasn't able to work out because everyone in the vicinity was now aware of the way you burned down a cafe trying to bake and collectively decided that you should not be allowed to make food for people. Flowers were better than running a cafe shop. You stayed with your flowers and you were able to give
someone a flower when they needed it.
Need a flower for your mother? You got it, a daylily was exactly what they needed. Wanted to attend a funeral? Take a bouquet of lilies. It was easy to understand and you didn't directly put anyone in harm’s way. Although your shop was hardly ever full, you were content with everything.
That's why you're shocked when you find a line of people waiting to be let into your shop at 9 am. You raised an eyebrow in confusion but you opened the door nevertheless. At the end of the day, you were the one earning the money. You had things to buy, didn't you?
You take your place at the counter and start attending to the customers. They didn't tell you to pick out one for them and just chose it themselves. The crowd slowly reduced till there was only one person left. When there remained a few people, you quietly moved to one person to ask for the reason why they were so cheerful today.
"Jungwon, do you know why everyone is so happy today? My shop was full today!"
"Are you complaining about it?" He asks. Jungwon was the son of the cafe shop owner. He came to your shop frequently when he was on his break and you would talk to each other.
“Of course, I’m not. I just want to know what’s making everyone come here all of a sudden. Even old man Jay came here and you know that man never leaves his house. He bought a red carnation and I’m confused because who does he have affection for that he’s getting them flowers”
“He has a wife you know”
“Please, the last time they had a conversation with each other was when he asked for a divorce” you deadpanned.
“Look Y/N, who’s the one person in this town anyone would do anything for?”
“Kim Junkyu?”
“Close but not him, I wouldn’t do anything for him” Jungwon stated making you roll your eyes.
“The only person left is Sim Jaeyun and we know it’s not possible”
“Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner”
You give him a shaky smile before asking him, “You’re joking right?”
“I’m not,” he says sincerely. You nod your head and go sit on the nearest stool. Placing a hand on your throat as you begin to scratch at it (something you did when you were nervous) and just sit in silence while Jungwon continues talking.
“After the award ceremony, his management released a statement on his Instagram saying that he would be going on hiatus for two months to visit his family. So we townsmen decided to get flowers to pave the road with because he would be coming back. We would have used gold leaves but it’s too expensive”
He continued talking and talking while you were still trying to process the fact that Jake would be coming back. Physically he was still going to be the same Jake you had a crush on before he left but personality-wise? You doubted that. You heard stories of the way fame had changed people; the love from others would get to their heads and make them overly egotistical. A part of you knew that he wouldn’t change but the other part was unsure. Before he left, you made him promise to not change and while you knew promises could be broken, you knew he wouldn’t break them.
“Jungwon, I want to close the shop for today. I’m not feeling too well and want to rest a bit”
“No problem Y/N! If you want, I can stay here and do business for you”
“Don’t worry about it, I’ve made enough money today to last me for next month” you say and shoo him away.
At home, you just sit and think for some time before getting up to make some tea and reminiscing about your high school memories. You hardly had feelings for people so when you did, you let them know immediately. When you told Jake that you liked him, he told you that he felt the same. You ignored him for a week after that because you didn’t think that far. After that, you met up with him and explained the reason why you avoided him. You went out with each other for less than 2 weeks and during that period, he had told you about his dreams of becoming an artist and you supported him wholeheartedly.
He would carry your books from school and you both would walk home together every day. He'd play the violin for you because he was good. You'd both pet stray cats and run when they started chasing you. All good things came to an end when he told you that he had to leave to pursue his dream. You both knew you were too young to even attempt a long-distance relationship so you let each other go even though it hurt. You’d watch his music videos and support his activities even though there was a possibility he would never return. Now that he was going to be here, how were you going to cope knowing that your feelings for him were still the same while his feelings could have gone, especially with all the beautiful people in the industry?
That night, while everyone was outside welcoming Mr Hollywood, you stayed in your house dreading the days that would come. The town was small so there was no way that you wouldn’t bump into him. The voices were loud when you tried to sleep. Seems like everyone was ecstatic that Jake had come back. The noise wasn’t able to let you sleep but deep down you knew it was because you were nervous.
You decide to bake cookies to reduce the stress you are currently feeling. You had learnt from your mistakes and no longer burnt kitchens (your kitchen being valid proof of that), but Jungwon’s dad still wouldn’t lift his ban. You baked cookies till 2 am before you were really tired enough to sleep. You had baked almost a hundred cookies that night.
The next morning, you made sure to wake up early so you wouldn’t run into anyone. Thankfully, the townspeople didn’t want to buy flowers that morning and got started on the orders that people out of town had placed. You brought cookies for Jungwon so he could test them. You were trying to fix the counter when someone walked in, making the bell jingle. Assuming it was Jungwon, you say, “Jungwon the cookies are on the counter. Test them and tell me what you think, don’t eat them and run away”
“I’m not a Jungwon but can I talk to Y/N?” You’re startled but you freeze, instantly recognizing the voice. Jake Sim.
“Hello, what would you like?” you asked with a forced smile. You were way too close, the proximity was making you uneasy. He looked a bit disappointed with the way you answered him but what did he expect to come to? It had been five years.
“I just wanted to tal-” he is cut off by Jungwon bursting through the door.
“Y/N, you will not believe who I saw. I saw Jake Sim with my very own two eyes. He looks so much hotter in real life. Do you think he’d sign my back if I asked-” he stopped instantly when he saw the person that was in the flower shop.
He looked like a fish out of water with the way his mouth was agape. Looking at you, then at Jake and then you again. He brought his hand to his head and he hit it hard making you startled.
“Sorry I will leave now,” Jungwon said.
“To cry” he murmured, making you chuckle. Jungwon was someone that cried when he did something embarrassing.
“Jungwon wait,” you say and walk to give him the cookies you had packed for him with a little note.
“Eat them and get back to me when you’re less you know...embarrassed” He snatches them from your hands and makes a run for the door. You giggle then you remember that Jake was still present. Turning to face him, you ask if he wants anything. “I want to talk to you”
You motion him to sit on the spare chair you had and he obliges. Before you even ask him a question, he begins, “Was that your boyfriend?”
“No, not that it concerns you though”
“Where you last night? I saw everyone but you. The Johnny kid said you were feeling ill. I doubt that wasn’t true as you made cookies. The last time I remembered, you were really bad at anything relating to the kitchen”
“Times change and people change, Jaeyun. It’s been 5 years since we last had a conversation with each other. I’m not the same and I’m sure you’re not the same either”
“Let’s get to know each other again. Do things the old fashioned way. Go on dates, paint, and bake with each other. Do some of the things we could have done 5 years ago.”
“And then when you have to leave and have no contact with each other again”
“I won’t do that, I promise. Never again.”
“How can you be so sure of that?”
“Let me prove it to you-”
He’s cut off by the entrance of another customer and stands up to leave but you don’t miss the longing look in his eyes. You hope he can see the same look in yours that’s covered by hurt and waiting for someone to return.
You were not expecting Jake to be at your store first thing on a Friday morning. He was even earlier than you and you're the boss.
“What are you doing here?” you ask. He was bouncing on his feet and looking cherry when you hadn’t even gotten enough sleep.
“I’m here to take you out. Do it like the old times where I’d wait for you so we could go to school together”
“I have work to do today and I’m going to be booked so another time”
“I have come to offer my assistance so tomorrow we can go out together”
“Don’t you have things to do?”
“I’m on a hiatus, I’m free for almost two months and if you want I can be free for more. Imagine all the things we could do in that time” he trails off, fantasizing when you hadn’t even told him that you still liked him. Meanwhile, you had opened the door and walked in.
"Aren't you going to come in and stop thinking of cute stuff?" you ask him and he quickly runs in, flustered.
He takes a look around and puts on a determined face and gets a broom and starts cleaning. For someone that's supposed to be a celebrity, he was cleaning like an employee. You take a rag and wipe all the surfaces and take care of the flowers. After an hour, the shop is ready to open. Customers come rolling in once they see a new help. Although they're surprised, they don't question it.
During your break, Jake picks up a chrysanthemum and hands it to you. "It's for you because you're beautiful," he says
"Hate to rain on your parade but if you gave me this in Italy, it means you wish I were dead" and with that, he takes back the flower instantly and brings a single red rose. You receive it with a small laugh, finding it funny when he doesn't want you misinterpreting him. You were having a sweet moment with him until Jungwon came in again.
"I'm getting tired of seeing you here Mr Sim. As much as I adore you, I need to meet my friend" he states and pulls you to the back. "Care to explain why Jake Sim is in your store again!?"
"Nope" you respond, popping the p. He brought his hand to his forehead and tried to relax his muscles because according to him, he doesn't want to look forty-five when he's thirty years old.
"Look, it's weird coming here and seeing you have company. I'm not against you having company seeing as you've been lonely the entire time I've known you but, I can't stay in his presence! Why must a man Look so gorgeous!? He's ruining my already broken esteem. Everybody saw him in real life and was wondering how a man could look that good."
"They saw him when he was seventeen years old," you tell him.
"And he's twenty-three now! He doesn't look the same and I don't even need to have known him then to know now"
"Jungwon, I want you to get to the point," you tell him, basically pleading at that point because your break would soon be over.
"I'll see you when I have enough confidence to meet him," he says and leaves the store. You shake your head at his overdramatic behaviour and continue with your day. Jake proves to be amazing assistance and you got things done quicker and even closed earlier.
"Thank you for offering help, you can go home now. See you tomorrow" you say in an attempt to shoo him out.
"I want to walk you home" he announces and goes with you home.
"Do you hate me for not talking to you?" he asks.
"I don't hate you. To be honest, I think we both did the right thing by not talking to each other. It was good we had each other in mind but I would have caused too much of a distraction for you. It was great you focused on your career and achieved your goals. I did well too"
"Johnny boy said you were lonely though," he said.
"Number one, I know you know his name is Jungwon but you're just being petty. Two, why were you eavesdropping on our conversation and three, I still had a bit of hope that one day you'd return. I didn't think that you'd come" you say truthfully. The night was making you vulnerable when answering his questions.
"I always asked my mum how you were doing when I called her, you know? I wanted to check up on you without doing so myself. I'd ask her to give you a pop tart because I knew they were your favourite"
Even though he was still far away, he still had kept you in his mind the same way you did for him.
You got home and stayed at the door before you took him by the shoulder and said, "Let's go out together and have fun". He gives you a soft smile and watches you go in before he retires to his own home.
The following day, you're waiting for him to come. You had tried to dress up for the date but didn't want to underdress or overdress since he hadn't told you where you were going. So you decided to wear a simple sundress and made yourself look nice. He arrived wearing something as casual as you in a car.
"Is this your dad's?" you questioned.
"Yup, I borrowed it to take you out,” he says and winks at you. You shake your head laughing and get in the passenger seat and he drives.
“Where are we going?” you ask, curious.
“You’ll see when we get there” you don’t respond but wind down the window and feel the wind on your face which makes you smile.
You catch Jake glancing at you while he’s driving and he doesn’t even try to hide it. “At least try to pretend you’re not starting”
“I can’t help it, you’re so pretty” This kid, he was making it too easy for you to fall for him.
“Do you still like me, Jaeyun?” you inquire.
“I do,” he said with certainty. Has he always been this bold? You don’t say anything and continue to look out so he reaches over and takes one of your hands in his while he uses his other one to drive. You look at him but just continue doing what you’re doing.
“You might not believe me but I mean it,” he says, lightly squeezing your hand as a form of reassurance.
He stops the car at an aquarium and you both come out. You have a wonderful time and although people recognize him and are surprised to see him with you, they don't say anything and leave you alone. You smiled that day more than you had ever smiled before.
"The fishes look good to eat" you whisper in his ear and he playfully smacks your arm and jokes.
"You monster! How can you say that!?" to which you jokingly shrug.
After the aquarium, he takes you to a flower field. "I did my research this time so I don't give you a wrong flower." He picked up a primrose and says, "I know this one means love is eternal so I'm giving it to you because no matter the distance between us, our love will be forever"
You feel warm this time and know that even if he were to leave again, the distance wouldn't matter because together, you both could overcome anything.
"You're all I need" you manage to say.
"When did you get all sentimental?" he teases and you chase after him in the flower field. When you get tired, you lie down on the grass and he lays next to you. Your hands find his hands amid all the grass and you squeeze it. Unknowingly, you fall asleep next to him.
The next weeks that follow include you two bonding and Jake having fun and being relaxed. He was able to write a song but wouldn't let you see the lyrics, saying it wasn't something he wants you to see yet. You met his parents and thanked his mum for taking care of you indirectly and conversed with his dad too. You could tell that he hadn't forgotten any of the values his parents had thought him. He grew up surrounded by a lot of love so he had more than enough to give.
He also met your parents and he was nervous even though you had tried to reassure him that they wouldn't do anything to him. Your father tried to act scary but deep down you knew he had a soft spot for him. Your mom was showering with more affection than she gave you and Jungwon tried stylishly asking him for his celebrity crush numbers.
"Jake, since you're dating my friend can you link me up with Han Sohee? You've worked with her before, help a friend out"
"I'll ask her but no promises" Jungwon was so happy the entire day.
A few days before Jake had to go back because his hiatus was over, you both were talking about how things would be while baking muffins.
"Y/N don't think I won’t talk to you when I go because I can already see the gears turning in your head."
"Pass me the butter Jaeyun"
"Are we back to the first-name basis? Call me the sweet names" he whined.
"Just pass the butter babe" and he passes it instantly.
"Now back to what you were saying, I know you won't forget me obviously and if you try I I can always take a flight to get to you." You tell him. You weren't going to wait around for him anymore. If you missed him, you'd go see him if he was unable to come to see you.
"Better, I was already worried," he says and gives you a back hug.
The day he left was bittersweet and you shed a few tears. It took a lot of willpower to not cry in front of him. You didn't want him to leave but you knew that he had a job to get to and you couldn't be in the way of that.
You both regularly kept in touch, calling each other at least twice a week to catch up on what had happened during each other's week. He hadn't told you that he released a new song and you found out through his fanboy Jungwon who was now the self-acclaimed president of his fan club.
"Y/N, have you heard Jake's new solo? I cried to it for an hour straight" You didn't have any time to check what was going on because someone had ordered flowers for their wedding and you had to get them done quickly.
"New solo?" you ask and Jungwon sits you down and plays the song for you. Truth be told, you cried as well. It felt like he was there with you telling you that he'd never change.
You watched the interview and when he was asked about the meaning or person behind the song, he said, "There's someone that I love and I wanted to let her know that no matter how famous I get, I won't ever change and she shouldn't change either". He looked directly at the camera then continued, "You're stuck with me forever".
That night, you called him and cried on the phone to him telling him about how you saw the interview.
"Y/N, you know I care about you" you sobbed even harder.
"I care about you too, forever"
"Forever baby, regardless of the distance"

GUILTY MISTAKE
PAIRING: Kang Yeosang x M!Reader
GENRE: Angst, Fluff
WARNINGS: M!reader bullying sweet baby Yeosang, bad friends
SUMMARY: You've made a huge mistake once when you were a child and it's been in your head for the rest of your life, haunting you unless you've done something about it.
Just last month, you had turned six years old and you couldn't be more happier. For some unknown reasons, you liked how you grew older after every year, mostly because you receive gifts from your mom and dad and, of course, your friends who were about a year older than you.
Every year, on your birthday, you'd get expensive items and presents that you have been wanting for so long and foods that you get to eat with your family and friends. Loud music booming through the speakers, giggling while you made jokes with your friends laughing at almost everything due to the excitement and adrenaline that rushed through your bodies.
But, once everything was over and you know that everyone had to leave, you just keep on wishing that it was your birthday everyday. That way, everyone could still have fun and be happy with you, but then again, where's the thrill in that? They'd probably grow tired of it.
Right now, you were playing with your toys that you received creating specific sounds that corresponds to the action you controlled them to do, when you heard the doorbell ring making you gasp with joy at the thought of having a guest paying a visit.
You stood up from your position, your short legs running towards the door as you reached for the knob and turned it to open the door for the person behind it. The door moves wide open and reveals a woman who didn't look quite older than your mother, while you smiled and looked up at her. "Good morning!" You greeted her.
The woman's eyes fell down to you, beaming with glee at your politeness. "A very good morning to you, too, deary." She replied. "Is your mom or dad around? We're actually new to the neighborhood. We just moved from Busan."
You nod your head to answer her as you walked up to your mother who was in the kitchen cooking lunch. "Mom, someone's at the door for you."
"Really? Who is it?" Your mother asked you, wiping her newly washed hands on her apron.
You shrugged your shoulder, holding onto your mom's hand. "Neighbor said she was new." You and your mom was now in front of the door and the two women greeted each other as the other woman handed out a basket to your mom while you waited patiently for your mom to give it to you.
As soon as she did, you waggled your small feet towards the table before you caught a glimpse of a kid, not much taller than you, peeking from behind his mother's pants. He looked scared and shy, but it seemed to you that he wanted to approach you, but he was just too timid to do so.
You gave him your million dollar smile that made the small boy giggle at your friendliness, you jumping down from where you sat with a small groan when you hit the floor. You ran back towards the door, now seeing the chubby boy whose tummy was curving like a small hill on his stomach.
He wore a blue tiny jumper that fit perfectly onto his body, with a striped long sleeves under his jumper, white socks and shoes that almost looked worn out. You approached the boy a comfortable distance away and looked behind the woman that looked to be like his mother, a wide smile still present on your face as you waved a hand at him hello.
The boy bashfully hid, only leaving his arm to be left seen while waving back at you hesitantly. You could see how much the boy struggled to make friends with you so you decided to close in on the distance leading your feet towards the boy and poked your head out that made the boy flinch. "Heya there!" You said, now standing in front of him as the little boy hid his eyes away from you. "Don't be scared. People tell me I'm kind." You giggled softly, the other boy glancing up at you before quickly looking away once again. "I'm M/n, by the way. How about you? What's your name?"
He looked up at you shyly and stammered. "I-I'm Yeothang."
"Yeothang? What a unique name." You beamed, but he shook his head to correct you.
"No, no. Yeothang."
"Oh, you got a lisp." You said at the sudden realization and he nodded his head. "So, Yeosang?" He nodded again. "Yeosang. You have a pretty name." You said, finally noticing the birth mark that decorated the side of his left eye. You gasped and pointed at it. "Wowza! You have a cool looking tattoo!"
"It'th... It'th not a tattoo, M/n." Small Yeosang said, hesitating to call you by your name. "Mommy told me it'th a birth mark."
"Ooh, a birth mark. I wish I had one just like yours." You pouted. "I've got nothing."
Yeosang giggles at you making you smile. "That'th okay, M/n." He said and looks at you with his small brown orbs. "You look great even without them." He said, before he sniffed due to his runny nose that caused a snot to fall from his nose.
You were able to see this and pulled the hem of your shirt to wipe it from his nose and smiled brightly at him, which in turn, earned you a face of shock from Yeosang. "There."
"But, I dirtied your shirt." He furrowed his brows.
You waved it off and gave him assurance. "Don't you worry. My clothes get cleaned pretty well, so it's alright." You told him. "Oh, hey, wanna eat the snack your mom gave us? I saw cookies there. I bet you love cookies."
He nods his head once and immediately, you took his wrist into your small hands that barely closed around it as you pulled him inside and to your kitchen table. You let Yeosang take a seat first, since he needed a little help from his small size. You were next to take seat, settling on the seat beside him. You opened the basket that was wrapped with a cling wrap to secure it properly.
You let yourself drool at the sight of all the delicious delicacies that was inside the basket. "That is a lot." You chuckled cutely, unable to decide which baked goods to eat first. Throughout your process of thinking, your mother and Yeosang's mother had finished their conversation and the latter was called over. Yeosang gave his mother a small 'coming', before climbing down the seat as you pouted. "You're leaving already."
"I'm afraid tho, M/n." Yeosang replied sadly as you thought.
You pondered for a moment before you hastily took a bunch of the delicacies from the basket and went down to give it to Yeosang. "Here. I want you to take this with you. Eat them, or else."
Yeosang nodded and gave you a look of delight at your kind and cute gesture. "I will, M/n." He said before he jogged off to his mother showing her what you gave to him.
"Bye, Sangie!"
"Bye, M/n."
The following day, you were with your friends by the children's playground playing a round of tag, you being the tagger. "Tag, you're it!" You yelled on top of your lungs once you were able to catch up with the smallest of your group of friends, who whined in protest and stomped his foot.
"I'm always 'it'! Why can't it be—"
"Can I play, too?" That all too familiar sweet, honey like voice came from behind him, taking all of your attentions as your head all turned to him and revealed the very shy Yeosang. "I know how to play the game. We uthed to play that back at home."
"Yeosang, of cour—" You were about to reply, but your friends' rejection to his action of joining cut you off.
"Ew, no way. We don't want your boogers and sticky green nose liquid on us. Get away!"
"Yeah, go away! We don't want you playing with us."
"Booger boy!"
"Go play in another playground!"
Those were the words that your friends threw at him that got you shocked from hearing what your friends were saying to Yeosang. Your eyes had widened in shock while you could clearly see the hurt in his eyes that was now glossy with his forming tears from the mean comments he received from your friends. You clearly didn't know there was something going on with your friends and Yeosang.
Yeosang's pleading eyes was placed onto you as he waited for your answer, fiddling with his fingers. Your friends were the best people you could ever have and losing them never crossed your thought, so to avoid this situation from happening, you did what you thought was going to keep them as your friends. "Sure. You can play with us." You said, which made Yeosang hopefully smile, but he immediately took it back from what he heard next from you. "If you weren't so disgusting."
At that, you smirked and all your friends bursted out laughing giving you a clap at the back, the dejected Yeosang hanging his head low, feeling embarrassed. Although he was shamed upon, he still knew you had that kindness inside you and guessed you might have done that for a reason, so he gleamed and looked back at you. "Alright. Maybe next time? When I'm not snot booger rocket anymore." He snorted while laughing that made you all look at him like he's a weirdo.
"Go away! We never want to play with you, again."
And what you thought was just a one time thing, became a permanent bullying towards the poor little boy who only wanted to make friends and play with you. Before they left Busan, he had promised his mom that he wouldn't be the shy boy his parents knew him as, and become friends with the children at their new home, but it looked it was 'friends' that didn't want him.
Their first day, the day he met you, he was so excited and happy that he was able to make a friend, even if it were you who was the first one to approach him. He admired how you were so brave to befriend him and your politeness was one of the things he praised you for. He also thought you were a really kind and friendly kid, but looking at it now, it looked like he was wrong as he was once again rejected to play with you, seating on one of the swings that were a far distance away from where you and your friends played tag.
He sighed, but he didn't want to give up that easily so he ran to you while giggling repeating the words, 'I wanna play' over and over again which got to your friends' nerves, to the point where one of them pushed Yeosang to the ground which got your mouth gaping at the shock, while Yeosang stared up the person who pushed him, eyes starting to swell with tears. As though the fact that he was pushed to the ground wasn't enough, the same person kicked him by the leg which got Yeosang shouting in pain, before standing back up crying and ran home.
You made your way to your friends and glared at them. "Hey, that was too much."
"Why do you care so much?" He sassed at you. "He deserved it."
Your glare didn't falter, but softened when your eyes caught sight of a crying Yeosang. While your friends started to pile up in the middle of the place, you were still caught up in your thoughts, wishing you had just been nice to Yeosang and left your friends for treating Yeosang like that.
Yeosang didn't deserve it. He was a sweet, innocent and kind-hearted boy. He was too pure for this world. He didn't even give up once on trying to be friends with you, but all you ever did was tease him and mock him, call him names like 'booger boy' as you all called him as, 'weirdo', and all sorts of things. Finally realizing your fault, you sighed and regretted the treatment you gave Yeosang. "Sangie..."
A month or so after, you heard about the Kang family moving to another neighborhood which made you feel so bad and hate yourself totally. You didn't even get to say your sorry to Yeosang properly. The little boy never again showed up at the playground and only did when he was asked to throw the trash, all bundled up under so much clothings, since it was winter. That was the only moment you could ever see him.
You rushed out of your house and saw that they were now entering their car, you zoomed across the street and called Yeosang. "Yeosag, Yeosang! Wait!"
This got his attention, snapping his head towards you with a big smile. "M/n! You came to thee me off?" He giggled, making you feel guilty.
You shook your head and knitted your brows. "Why are you leaving? Where are you going?" You asked all in one go.
"We're moving back to Buthan, thince mom wath able to find a plathe there where it'th rent free and could all fit uth in." Then, he leaned in close to your ear to whisper. "Don't worry. I never told mom that your friendth hated me." He giggled secretly.
"Sangie... I also did bad things to you.." You told him sadly.
"I know." Yeosang smiled. "But, I know you didn't do it on purpothe."
"Yeosang, the car's about to leave."
"Oh, I gotta go now. Bye, M/n." He said and waved you goodbye while entering the cab and rolled the windows down while he smiled up at you. "Hope to thee you thoon again, M/n." He said one last time before the car drove off to their destination.
And there it goes. Your last chance to say sorry. Lost. Now, you're left with a lingering feeling of pure guilt and regret.
-------
Years after and you have disbanded with your friends, you are still living with the regret that you made from when you were young. You had just turned 18 years old last month and you were even sadder than the last. Instead of wishing gifts and presents from your new found friends and families, you were only wishing for Yeosang to come back so you could just tell him how much you were sorry and hug him so tightly that he wouldn't be able to breathe.
Your sullen look was noticed by your mother, who by the way, already knew your sin towards Yeosang since you had told her about it already. The first time you told her, she was aggravated with you for not being the child she had raised you to be. You told her the purpose of your action, thus the reason why you left your friend group and boy was your mom right to have let you leave them. What once was playful, turned harsh and violent and you didn't want to be a part of that. "What's wrong, honey? Don't you like your gifts?" Your mother asked you in concern.
You shook your head and sighed. "It's not that. I'm just... feeling like a total jerk."
Your mother sighed at you sadly and sat down beside you, patting you lightly on the back. "Honey, what you've done was wrong, but trust me when I say that Yeosang has a kind heart and if you ever tell him you're sorry, he'd forgive you right away."
"Thanks, mom." You said. "But, people change as they grow."
"Not Yeosang."
You rolled your eyes at your mom with a smirk. "Sure mom. Not Yeosang." You shook your head in disbelief. "I just wish you're right, mom."
You stood up from your seat, as your mother did and walked your way out the door taking in the fresh air of the morning during spring season, when all the trees stood straight and tall, the flowers blooming with all their beauty. You smiled at the sight and took the camera that was hanging by your neck, over a sling and took a picture of the ethereal scenery.
You walked past your porch and started heading to the park to get some takes on your camera to post on your Instagram to entertain your million followers. As you did, you were able to pass by an ice cream stall, so you took a quick stop and bought three scoops of (favorite ice cream flavor) with chocolate syrup and sprinkles to top it off.
You were wearing a smile, happily licking your ice cream away. You let your eyes explore the world around you, finding everything interesting. All these years, the place had been making a lot of changes. From buildings to parks and work towers, everything just felt new, as if you never got to spend time, at least once visiting these places throughout you're whole eighteen years of existence.
You finally arrived at the park, everything from your childhood flashing back through your head. The once only a children's playground is now a family park, but rather than being reminded by the joyous memories, you were able to remember the memory that's been haunting you for life.
You couldn't believe yourself that you had the ability to bully such an innocent kid, while you kept blaming yourself for their sudden moving away. If you had the power to turn back time, you'd make things right with Yeosang and be a better friend to him, which you couldn't do because you wanted to be with the 'cool kids' when all they ever did was make a person's life miserable.
You found a bench to seat on and checked through the pictures you took on your camera, laughing at a video of Mingi getting drunk with Yunho, carrying him like he was a puppy. You just missed those two so bad. You never got another chance to meet them, not even once, since they're both now busy with their job and you're still here trying to find a way to pass the college entrance examination.
Whenever they're around, you three would always be loud as fuck and wouldn't care a thing about the world, just as long as you three are happy. Of course, you didn't go too far just to be happy, unlike the friends you once had.
You still had the smile on as you sighed satisfied and rested your camera back down to let it hang on your neck. You looked around you and saw children playing by the fountain, their parents watching with glee at the sight of their children playing happily. You grabbed your camera and took a picture of the wonderful scene.
You took a few more shots, satisfied, you were finally about to leave with not much else to do, when in a distance you heard a gruff voice call out to you. "M/n? Didn't expect to see you here."
You looked behind you to see Mingi who was in his suit holding a case, his golden wrist watch shining brightly under the sun's light. You smirked and scoffed. "I could tell you the same thing." You said all the while crossing your arms over your chest. "Mingi, are you slacking off?"
Mingi rolled his eyes at your teasing. "I take my job seriously, M/n. I'm not the same person who cuts classes."
"Sure. Sure." You mocked him, while he glared at you. "Anyways, how are you and Yunho doing?"
The brown haired male smiled at the thought of the taller male and sighed. "Oh, you know. The usual. Us missing you and wanting to baby you."
This time, it was you who rolled your eyes, the smirk on your face growing wider, if possible. "You both still on that?"
"Well, you're pretty much the reason how we got together. So, it's just a way of us showing our gratitude for having you in our life." Mingi patted your head making you giggle at the simple contact.
"I just hated how you two were so dense with all the signs you both tried so hard to make the other notice. I had to do something, at least." You said.
"But, weren't you the one who told me you had feelings for Yunho?" He teasingly wiggled his brows at you, making you blush profusely.
"Shut up. There are pasts that should be forgotten and it includes that." You huffed, puffing up your cheeks making you look like a little squirrel. "And you promised we would never speak of this ever again." You pulled your brows in disappointment, looking up at him. "All you do is lie."
"Hey, hey. I don't go that far." Mingi defended himself, before pulling you into his arms to hug you. "But, if you're so embarrassed about it, it'll be just our little secret."
"Don't even promise me if you're just going to break them in the end." You deadpanned making Mingi let out a deep voiced chuckle.
"Alright."
Soon, the two of you parted ways, waving your hands to each other to say goodbye. You were making your way back home, when you noticed a moving truck from the house next door. A new neighbor? You walked up to the truck driver to greet her and do some important interview. "Good morning, ma'am. Did someone just move in?"
"Oh, nice to see friendly faces up in here." She chuckled. "It's not everyday you get the luck to meet one." She sighs from her aching back, before exhaling deeply. "Yeah. Rich families, to be exact. Paid me a good tip." She said making you giggle.
"I see." You laughed lightly. "Well, have a great day, ma'am. Hope to see you, again." You waved her goodbye, the woman doing the same to you.
You hummed to a song as you finished your walk, now in front of your porch, your mom tending with her flowers. "Had a good day, honey?"
"Better than great." You replied. "I met Mingi on his way to his job. Thought he was slacking off like he usually does." You chortled, earning a playful slap on the back from your mom.
"Oh, you." She told you before she led you inside and went straight to the kitchen. "Oh, by the way, have you met the new neighbors next door?"
"Nope." You answered, popping the 'p' with a purse of your lips at the end, then sat down on a seat excited to eat the apple pie your mother made while you were away. Once, it got placed down on the table, you hurriedly dug in with your barehands, but before you could, your mother slapped your hand making you pout as she folded her gardening apron.
"That's for the neighbors." She informed you, your mouth opening in understanding while nodding your head. "And I'm letting you do the honors to give this to them, since I believe, the new neighbors' son was a friend of yours."
"A friend? Who?" You asked with a raised brow, but your mother only gave you a wink and carefully hands you the apple pie. With no other choice, you stood up and wore your bunny slippers, too lazy to put your shoes back on, as you headed to the house next door.
You walked up the small stairs that led up to the house's front door and knocked three times. You waited for a reply, but you received nothing, so you waited before knocking on the door, once again just in case they didn't hear you.
Alas, a male's voice was heard, shouting a loud 'coming' to inform you that someone was finally coming for the door. You stood there patiently with a smile, practicing in your head what you will have to say to the male. The door soon flew open and appeared a tall man, who looked freakishly handsome, his features flawless that it's making it hard for you to look away. He was so surreal. Like a character pulled straight out from a comic.
You tried to utter a word, but the lines you prepared in your head was long forgotten. "Uh..." Was the only word you could ever stable.
"Er.. Is that for us?" The male asked you, snapping you from your thoughts and nodding your head, taking notice of the small lisp he had with the letter 's'.
"Uh, yeah, yeah. It's for you and your family." You said. "It's actually a tradition, so we make the new neighbors feel welcome." You added and slowly gave it to the male infront of you, a smile gracing upon his features. Goodness, his smile is so stunning.
He accepted the gift and took it into his hands. You bowed curtly and had decided to make your way back, when the male had caught your attention. "Wait, don't go just yet. Why don't you come inside and have a bite?"
And who were you to turn down an offer from a cute guy? "Uhm, er, sure. Yeah, I'd love to." He lets you walk inside first as he closes the door, a small creak and click coming from it.
"Hol'up, you're not a pedophile, are you?" You suddenly asked out of fear. "There's been a lot of news going on around the world and I've prepared my whole life, so I can fight you."
"No, no. For sure, I'm not." He said as he walked by past you, leading the way to the kitchen to guide you. Once you two made it to the kitchen, the things on the table were cleared, the car keys hiding it in his pockets. "Take a seat. I'll go grab some plates."
"Your mom and dad?" You asked out of the blue, making him chuckle.
"You're so full of questions." He told you. "They're buying groceries."
"Oh." You let out silently, sitting down while fiddling with your fingers since you got nothing else to do.
The male came back with what he intended to get and placed one on your side, then one on his, moving to the kitchen isle to get a knife to cut the pie. "So, how's your life going?"
You thought for while taking a long deep breathe. "Well, I guess you could pretty much say, complicated." You answered and when he didn't speak back to let you keep on talking, you continued. "There's days where I feel so happy, then there are days where I feel miserable." You looked up at him while he cuts the pie. "I just wish... I..." You trailed off once you were able to catch a glimpse of the discoloration of a certain area on the side of his head. Wait a minute. That birthmark...
The moment you were able to figure it out, you jumped up from your seat and widened your eyes in shock. "Yeo.. Yeosang..?"
He let out a small chuckle, before stopping his actions and looking up at you. "So, you saw my tattoo, huh?"
You couldn't believe it. He was back, but different. He's no longer the chubby little boy with snot running down his nose, he's now a total hottie and he's even taller than you already. "O-oh my gosh.. Yeosang.. You look so.. different."
"Well, I wanted to be your friend badly, I decided to change for you, but it was also a self-decision, so don't feel so bad, M/n." Yeosang said. He did change, but his personality is still the same old Yeosang.
"Yeosang, I was your friend. I was just a coward." You sadly said, your guilt even growing bigger. "I'm so sorry."
Yeosang moved to your side and pulled you into his arms, the strong scent of something sweet and musky all at the same time, tickling your nose. His embrace was so warm and caring that you never wanted him to pull away. "M/n, I have forgiven you a long time ago, already. You don't have to say sorry, anymore."
"Just let me do it, Sang. The thought of not being able to see you again keeps plaguing me for days." You admitted. "I kept on blaming myself that I was the reason why you moved away."
"No, M/n, you're not. Please, don't be hard on yourself." He said, caressing your hair. "It was a family business, so we had to move to a place near dad's work place."
You gave him a light punch and stifled a laugh. "You should have told me sooner."
You both got into a comfortable silence, before Yeosang decided to break it. "Well, how about we eat and catch up on each others' lives, yeah?"
"That sounds lovely."

Hygge
Summary: Y/N introduces Bucky to the little things that he missed out on since the 40s.
Warnings: Absolutely none, just fluff :)
Word Count: 3527
a/n: Hygge is a Danish word, and from what I can tell it perfectly encompasses finding happiness in the little things.
This request honestly had me smiling the whole time I wrote it. Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions of things to introduce Bucky to (including my sisters who don't know why I asked them that question lol)
Also, I find happiness in looking at this gif so I would like to thank @thebritishstanfan for its existence on this app
You heard the door open just as you finished running the bath.
"Bucky!" You ran out to the living room, throwing your arms around him in greeting.
"Hi, Doll." He whispered into hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. He instantly relaxed at your touch.
"I have a surprise for you." You grabbed his hand, leading him to the bathtub. "I thought you might want to relax a bit, so I ran you a bath."
Just being in your presence was relaxing to him, but he wouldn't turn down a bath, especially one with the potential of you joining him.
"Are you going to relax with me?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively eliciting a laugh from you.
"Maybe later, this is about you right now." You smiled softly, eager to help him unwind.
He undressed quickly, lowering himself into the warm water as you searched through a shopping bag.
"Okay. Big Blue, Intergalactic, Love Boat, or Goddess?" You looked at him expectantly.
He stared at you, confusion evident on his face.
"Oh, do you want to smell them and then decide?" You questioned with a tilt of your head.
"Smell what?" His brows furrowed, mouth slightly agape.
"The bath bombs silly." You smiled brightly, bringing the bag closer to him.
"Why would I want a bomb in my bath?" He questioned your odd behavior.
"It's not a real bomb, Buck." You shook your head, randomly removing one of the bath bombs from the bag, Goddess. You held it out for him to take.
"Smell it." You instructed.
He was apprehensive in his movements, but slowly moved the purple ball to his nose.
"It smells like flowers." He stated plainly, waiting for you to explain more.
"Yep. Here, smell the rest of them." You handed him each of the bath bombs, waiting to hear his verdict on each one.
"Oh, that's surprisingly citrus-y." He held out Love Boat for you to take back.
"This one smells too clean." He shook his head, dropping Big Blue into the outstretched bag.
"I like this one." He held Intergalactic in his hand, smiling proudly.
"Perfect. Lower it into the water." Your eyes were filled with love as you watched him follow your instructions.
"It's fizzing." He looked at you, concern evident in his bright blue eyes.
"It's supposed to. It dissolves in the water, coloring the bath and also adding scent from essential oils." You did your best to explain.
"Why?" He narrowed his eyes in confusion.
"It's just... have you ever heard of hygge?" You waited for his answer.
"Yeah, I've heard the word. It's like feeling cozy and happy from little things." He looked to you for approval.
"Exactly. That's what bath bombs are for, at least to me. They make me happy, so I thought you might like to try one."
The bath water had turned a dark blue, glitter floating throughout.
"Nobody thought to explain bath bombs to me, I guess." He smiled at you, relaxing into the bath. "What else makes you happy?"
"You know what, I'll make a list of little things that I love and then we can spend a day together where I show them to you." You bit your lip in anticipation of his response.
"I'd love that." He grinned.
"Yay! I'm going to get started!" You quickly left the bathroom, leaving him to relax on his own.
-
"What's got you so excited?" Sam gestures to your bouncing knee.
"Oh, I didn't even notice. I'm just showing Bucky some things that he's missed out on since the 40s." You smile grew as you thought about the list you had made.
You were just about to find Bucky and show him the list when you had to leave for an impromptu mission.
You were definitely annoyed your plans had been delayed, but it made you a force to be reckoned with while fighting.
"So that's why you were so ruthless. You've got a hot date." Sam winked.
"Whatever you say Sam." You shook your head. "I've got to drop by Starbucks before they close. See you later!" You called as you ran from the jet, still in mission gear.
The disheveled state of your clothing and hair earned you some looks from the Starbucks employees, but you were too excited to care.
You quickly stopped in your room to change before heading off to find Bucky.
"BuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBucky!" You said his name over and over as you ran to the common area.
Skidding to a stop, you held up the drinks in your hands. "Bucky! Are you ready?"
He seemed to be in the middle of something with Steve, but abandoned it immediately at the sight of you.
"Sorry, punk. I've gotta go." He grabbed a drink from you, sliding his other hand into your newly empty one.
"Wow, jerk. You get a girlfriend and replace me!" Steve yelled after you in a joking tone.
"Don't worry Stevie. Nobody could replace you." You called back over your shoulder, dragging Bucky to the kitchen.
"Okay, I've got a few different categories. The first one we're going to tackle is food!" You smiled brightly, nearly bouncing in anticipation.
"Can you preheat the oven to 350 degrees?" You asked as you grabbed a bag from the freezer.
You swiftly dumped the contents onto the tray, shoving them into the oven while it preheated.
"Aren't you supposed to wait until it's hot?" Bucky watched as you slid around the room.
"Yes, but I've always been impatient. It'll be fine. I promise! While those are cooking, I've got a few other things for you. These are from the 90s."
You handed him a bag of flamin' hot cheetos, watching with bated breath as he opened it and sniffed the contents.
"They smell bizarre. Why are they so red?" He looked at the cheeto in his hand with confusion.
"It's the flamin' hot cheeto dust! It may be unnaturally red, but it's so satisfying to eat." You grabbed the bag from him, eating a cheeto of your own.
He eyed you carefully, slowly popping the cheeto into his mouth and chewing carefully.
"Doll, these are terrible." He deadpanned, grinning when you pouted.
"Bucky!" You whined. "You have to eat more than one for the full experience. It doesn't matter that they aren't the best flavor wise, there's just something about them that's addicting." You laughed, eating a few more cheetos.
"Alright, alright. I'll follow your lead." The two of you snacked as you brought his attention to the next item.
"Okay, these don't really go with the cheeto flavor, but they still make me happy. Starbucks only does holiday drinks around the holidays, obviously. These are my two favorite."
You handed him one beverage, gesturing for him to try it.
"Minty..." He waited for an explanation.
"Yes. Peppermint mocha!" You swapped the cups, letting him try the next drink. "That one is an eggnog latte."
"They're both pretty good, although I still like my coffee black." He placed the cup back on the counter.
"Yeah, I thought you might say that. There's just something about them. Probably because they're seasonal drinks. It makes me associate them with the holidays and spending time with friends and family and that makes me smile."
He pressed a kiss to your nose. "You are too cute."
"I know!" You scrunched your nose, knowing he finds it adorable. "Next item!" You presented him with three different packages of Oreos.
"Why so many?" He questioned.
"Because, they're different flavors. I now Oreos were originally produced in like 1912 or something, that's why I got different flavors."
"Actually, I don't think I've ever tried one." He eyed the blue package excitedly.
"Ahh, while I got double stuffed because they're obviously better than the regular ones. I've also got peanut butter and mint. Honestly, pretty mild flavors all things considered." You laughed, picturing the key lime flavor you avoided.
Bucky grabbed one of each, excited to try all three.
"I think the mint one is my favorite. It really goes with the peppermint mocha." He nodded as he spoke, as if he needed to convince himself.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." You smiled, watching as he ate three more cookies.
Before he could reply, the timer went off.
"The dino nuggies!" You reached for the potholder, pulling the tray out of the over. "This is the last food item."
He looked at the tray, confusion clear in his eyes.
"Doll, are these just chicken nuggets?" He picked up a brontosaurus from the tray.
"Well, yes." You huffed. "But! They're shaped like dinosaurs!" You bit your lip in excitement, bouncing on the balls of your feet.
"So? They still taste the same..." Bucky clearly did not understand the hype.
"Right again. It's so much more fun to eat though. Gives you a childlike enthusiasm, even as a fully grown adult." He eyed you skeptically as he bit off the head of a dino.
He couldn't help but smile as you watched him, anticipating his reaction.
"Ya know, you might be right. That was weirdly satisfying."
The two of you spent the next few minutes eating chicken nuggets, hot cheetos, and oreos, occasionally sipping from the holiday beverages.
After quickly cleaning up the kitchen, you lead Bucky to your bathroom.
"Sit down." You gestured to the toilet.
"Why?" He still did as he was asked.
"Because." You answered petulantly. You filled a paper cup with water, carefully dumping it on his head to get his hair wet.
"Y/N!" Bucky jolted from the cold water.
"Sorry! I forgot it was cold!" You quickly plugged in the blowdryer, letting the warm air waft over his head.
"You know, if that thing was quieter, I think I could fall asleep right now." Bucky stated calmly as you ran your fingers through his hair, trying to evenly distribute the warm air amongst the hair.
"I know, right! There's something about someone else blow drying your hair that is so soothing."
You spent the next few minutes drying Bucky's hair and massaging his scalp.
"All done!" you exclaimed, unplugging the blow dryer and putting it back in the cabinet.
"Are you sure you don't want to do that again?" Bucky questioned, still sitting on the toilet.
"Yes. We've got more things to cover!" You pulled him off the toilet, nearly dragging him to your bed.
"Next category is entertainment, I guess." You brought out your laptop, certain apps already open to show him different things.
"We'll start with animals!" You were buzzing with excitement, and caffeine, as you opened two different browsers.
"Doll, animals existed in the 40s." He shook his head, endlessly amused by your behavior.
"I know that. Have you ever seen a Highland Cow?" You raised your brow, challenging his statement.
"I can't say I have." He shook his head slightly.
"Well, there you go. Animals it is. Actually, have you ever used Alexa?" You questioned him.
"No... Who is Alexa?" His confusion earned a laugh from you.
"An AI." You explained before bursting out into laughter again.
"Oh, like Friday?" He questioned.
"Yeah, but Alexa's not nearly as advanced. Here, watch this." You cleared your throat, making sure to speak clearly. "Alexa, show me pictures of Highland cows."
After a brief buffer, the AI responded. "Here are pictures of Highland cows." The google search appeared on your screen.
"So you can ask her anything?" Bucky questioned.
"Sort of, Friday knows way more. Alexa's good for little things though. Tony gets annoyed if you ask Friday to do too many small things because it can take up too much RAM and... You know what, it's not important." You decided against explaining since Bucky already looked confused.
You shifted your screen so he could see the many pictures displayed.
"Okay, so what's so special about a Highland cow?" He scrolled through the images, unaware of the smile forming on his face.
"There's just something about them. You'll find that same explanation for a lot of things I'm showing you, but it's true. They just make me smile. Look at how cute they are!" You emphatically gestured to the screen, nearly squealing at the adorable display.
"I actually see what you mean. Looking at them just makes you smile." He nodded his head thoughtfully, a small grin still pulling at his lips. "What other animal are you introducing me to?"
"Well, I assume you know what a puppy is." You said in complete seriousness.
"I do, indeed." He matched your tone, mocking the seriousness. He was really enjoying the playfulness you were showcasing.
"Well, here is a video of actor Tom Holland... you know Tom Holland, right?" You turned to face him.
"Tom Holland. Tom Holland... What's he in again?" His brows pinched together in thought.
"We've watched a few of his new movies together. Chaos Walking, The Devil All the Time, a few animated films, In the Heart of the Sea."
"Oh! The British one?" Recognition crossed his features.
"Yes! That one. Okay so, this is an interview of him..."
"Okay?" Bucky was more confused now than any other point of the night.
"Playing with puppies!" You're mouth dropped open in a wide smile, clearly excited about even the idea of puppies.
"I think I understand this one without even watching the video." he laughed, laying back with you to watch.
-
"You can't have pitbulls in England?" Bucky was affronted.
"I know. It's so sad." You pouted, still staring at the puppies on the screen.
-
"I have actually always thought puppies smell really good." He easily commented, agreeing with the famous actor.
"I know, Buck. I know." You shook your head playfully.
-
"Twinkies are pretty gross, he's not wrong." It was your turn to comment on his answers.
"I see your point." Bucky agreed as well.
-
"I definitely understand why this one makes you happy." Bucky smiled, kissing you on the cheek. "You know, he kind looks like Peter."
"I mean, maybe a little." You shrugged moving on to the next thing on your list.
"Still in the realm of entertainment, I've got some music for you." You knew Bucky was going to pout here.
"Doll, you know I'm just fine listening to my 40s music and calling it a day."
"Yes, but this is my list and you have agreed to be subjected to it." You queued up a few songs. "The first one, again, just makes me smile. I babysat a lot when I was younger, and there's something about this theme song that really hits different."
"Hits different?" Bucky stared at you like you had two heads.
"Yep. Just listen."
I was a girl in the village doing alright, then I became a princess overnight. Now I gotta figure out how to do it right, so much to learn and see.
You bobbed your head, mouthing the words as the theme song to Sofia the First played.
"I don't get this one." He figured honesty was the best policy.
"You say that now, but a week from now... You'll be singing it while you punch a bad guy in the face." You deadpanned, earning a laugh.
"Okay! Actual songs now." You took a deep breath, tring to prepare for his rejection. "Taylor Swift."
"Taylor Swift?" He repeated, waiting for you to say something else.
"To quote one of my favorite tik toks I've ever seen... 'If you don't like a single Taylor Swift song, I'm taking a crowbar, and I'm propping open your chest to see what's powering that thing in there, because it's not a heart.'"
"That's a bit extreme, don't you think." He eyed you cautiously.
"No. It's true. Her discography is so versatile, everyone can find at least one song they like." Your playful mood from earlier was still present, but hidden behind a slightly threatening glare.
"Which song are you going to play for me?" He was honestly nervous to hear it.
"Actually, you can pick. This playlist is songs of hers that make me smile, so pick whichever one you want." You smiled, eager to see his choice.
He scrolled through the playlist, reading each title carefully.
"Okay, You Are In Love or New Year's Day?" He asked your opinion.
"Both good choices, why those two?" You eyed him curiously.
"Well, You Are In Love because that's how I feel about you and New Years Day because you put it last in the playlist, so I know it must be one of your favorites."
You couldn't hide the way his words made you smile if you tried.
"I love you so much." You kissed him quickly. "Go with New Year's Day, I think it will resonate with you a bit more."
He smiled, tapping the screen gently to play the song.
The two of you remained quiet through the song, just enjoying the soft melody and storytelling.
"Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere." He quoted when the song ended.
"I'll be there if you're the toast of the town, babe, or if you strike out and your crawling home." You sang softly in response.
He cleared his throat. "I think I understand this one."
"I'm glad. I mean, it obviously doesn't have to be Taylor Swift, but everyone should have at least one song that makes them smile." You leaned into his embrace, enjoying the time spent together.
"What else have you got for me, Doll?" He held you close.
"Two more things. Here." You handed him two slightly sticky balls.
"What the hell is this?" He laughed, prying the toy from his metal hand.
"Throw it at the ceiling." He did as he was told, following your lead.
"Friday, can you turn off the lights?" You asked the AI.
"Of course, Ms. L/N."
The two of you were quickly shrouded in darkness. The balls you had thrown at the ceiling were glowing.
"How do we get them down?" Bucky whispered, his voice matching the darkness of the room.
"Just wait..." You stared at the ceiling, waiting a few seconds before the balls began to fall.
"So you just throw it and catch it?" Bucky questioned, again following your lead.
"Yep! It's weirdly relaxing after a long day." You smiled, catching and throwing the neon balls over and over again.
"You're absolutely right." He laughed, catching the blue ball before it could hit him in the face. "Especially just laying in the dark."
"Exactly! I'll go get the last thing, you can keep going." You pressed a quick kiss before heading to the kitchen. You tossed a few stuffed animal heating pads into the microwave.
While they were heating up, you grabbed yours and Bucky's water bottles to fill up with the fridge filter.
The beep sounded, indicating you could grab the animals and head back to Bucky.
"I'm back!" You called softly as you closed the door again. The room was still dark, causing you to turn on the lights. Bucky was frantically catching and throwing all four balls.
"It's a bit less relaxing when you've got to keep track of so many." He laughed as one fell and stuck to his elbow.
"Yeah, more like a game then." You smiled, happy to see him having so much fun.
"So, what's the last thing?"
You held up a bright yellow duck and an equally bright green frog.
"Stuffed animals? Doll, how old do you think I am?" He laughed lightheartedly.
"They're not just stuffed animals. They're also heating pads." You smiled, handing the duck to Bucky.
"What do you do with it?" He questioned.
"Men." You couldn't help but mumble it under your breath. "Well, after a mission, when you're feeling sore you can cuddle with one of these and it helps soothe the ache."
"Really? Nothing else you've shown me has been this practical." He chuckled again.
"That is true, but the fact that it's a stuffed frog makes me happy, even after the worst day."
"I guess you have a point." He pulled the duck close to his body, snuggling with it. "I like cuddling with you better." He pouted.
"I like cuddling with you too Bucky. Promise." You turned to face him, holding the frog to your chest with one arm.
"Thank you for sharing all this with me. I honestly don't remember the last time I smiled this much." He looked at you fondly, still smiling.
"Me either. There is one more thing that makes me really happy, though." You whispered.
"Yeah, what's that?" He watched you eagerly, waiting for the last thing.
"You." You watched his smile grow. "Even just spending ten seconds with you makes me happy after a totally shit day."
"Y/N, you make me happier than anyone I've ever met, Steve included." He joked. "I love you so much. More than I ever thought I could love someone."
"I love you too. So, so much." You rested your head on his chest, cuddling as close as the stuffed frog allowed. "Goodnight, Bucky." You whispered softly, eyes already falling closed.
He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head, sighing contently.
"Goodnight my love."

heyo! I was wondering if I could request an easy company ship? you can put me in the company if you want :)
I'm a trans guy (he/him), 5'8", I have reddish brown hair, hazel eyes, and I'm relatively athletic body wise but I have a lil tummy. I have a bigger nose due to my Italian, Jewish, and Romani decent, dimples, a phat ass (fhfhfhddjdj), and my hair is a mess of curls.
personality wise I'm the funny friend who's just kind of over everyone's bs. very snarky and quick with a joke if someone's being stupid. I'd say I'm pretty social on a surface level, but I'm only close with a few people who have earned my trust. I yell when I get mad, cry when I'm upset, and am nothing but laughs and smiles when I'm happy. my mood can change very fast because of how in tune with my emotions I am, so I'm prone to snapping on people, but I usually apologize right after and try to make things right.
my hobbies are reading, playing/listening to music, looking at hot men, and sleeping. I can play six instruments, I've always read at a high level, and I'm gayer than a box of fruit loops. speaking of food, I love cooking and eating too, hence my tummy. mac and cheese is an all time favorite and I love to bake cookies and brownies in my free time. big clothes are my favorite thing EVER and I will constantly steal clothes from people who are bigger than me. you will 100% catch me wearing a shirt that is two sizes too big in any given day.
alrighty I think that pretty much sums me up! no rush to get this done or anything <3
I ship you with...
Frank Perconte
Notes: “Oh my god, okay it's happening everybody stay calm.” OMG, I finally got to write a ship request for a boy! Literally, where have you been? It’s kinda weird that I don’t see gay men on BoB fandom, since the show is just gay men playing with guns. Ngl, you gave me a hard time, your personality is too unique for those basic ass Easy Company boys, but I think I got it…
P.S: I was between him and Christenson, since you two are very creative people. (He is so hot... jeez)
Okay, listen to me… this was an amusement to write and I finally got someone that I ship with my short king Perconte.
The only non basic man on that Company is Frank mf Perconte, I mean my man has his wrist with 20 wristwatches, brushes his teeth every five minutes and gets mad if he has blood on his trousers
He would have an instant crush on you from first sight
Was the moment he spotted your fat ass, jk
Can you just see the height different
He’s literally asking you with his eyes for you to please pick him up
But he does try his best to act cool and flirt with you and everything
Okay, George Luz is definitely one of your best friends, and I think you would throw snarky jokes at Bill.
Talbert tried to get into your pants too… just sayin
Once you’re dating he’s just all over you
You’re like his prince
I’m not sure if you can steal clothes from him because… well, you know why but he sure gives you all of them with no problem
He gets a little pissed with you eating mac and cheese
“NO! That’s not pasta, that’s American freaking noodles. I’m going to make you real pasta and you’ll see what’s good.”
Yup, he cooks for you
But if you join is even more fun, for some reason I think you two would even be a little competitive in the kitchen
✨Italian Supremacy✨
He loves to snuggle with and read until you fall asleep
Normally he is more down for books with smut but he reads whatever you like
If you snap and unload your anger or frustration on him, he makes that puppy-like expression and asks you: “Hey, what happened?”
He prefers to spend time with you when you’re down but if you need time alone he lets you rest but we will be checking on you every five minutes
“H-honey, are you better? Can I come in now? I-i made you brownies…”
Oh my god, when he found out you played six instruments!!
“You’re shitting me? Really? No way… I’m going to find them all and you’re going to play for me. I don’t care.”
So, one of your hobbies is looking at hot men (I can relate but with girls too, can I do that a job?) so Frank would definitely love when you hype him out or when you compliment him
He instantly melts, It’s the cutest thing.
YEAH, he plays with your curls when he’s bored or when he can’t sleep
Sometimes when you’re speaking or smiling he can’t focus on what you’re saying because of your dimples, he just finds them so pretty.
Not many people know but Frank Perconte was very sentimental and a man of very few words.
So, he is social but sometimes he can get very quiet during a conversation and that’s when when you enter, he feels more free to be himself.
He comes to you for advice, he does it even before you started dating, and not just because they are good but also because your opinion is really important to him
I hope you like your ship request, my man Perconte is really underrated please give him some love <3

So I'm sure we have all seen Pedro in the overalls today and my beautiful friend suggested a farmboy fic and I couldn't rest until I made it a reality.
*Disclaimers* I know nothing about farming, nor am I from the US. I imagined him as having a softer version of the Whiskey accent.
18+ only! You know the drill. 3.9k words.
The first time you saw him he was striding along the dusty road to your farmhouse, the sun at his back, his shadow stretching long ahead of him. Only someone looking for work and out of luck with it would be approaching at this late hour. From your perch at your bedroom window, you could look down and see the fatigue in the set of his shoulders, the dejection in the bow of his head. As he neared he stopped and dropped his pack to the ground before attempting to make himself presentable - raking his hand through his dark hair before setting his cap back on, dusting the legs of his overalls free of as much of the dirt of the road as he could, and finally straightening his back, righting his posture to make himself look strong, tall, not as hard up as he was. His rap at the door came as you were nearly at the bottom of the stairs and your dog, who had been peacefully sleeping at his approach finally woke and defended in a storm of paws and tail and barking.
"Hey! No!" you told her, and she quietened down and stayed where you told her to, in the line of sight from the doorway but no immediate threat to anyone on the other side. Opening the door you were greeted by the sight of a not-so-young-anymore man. Despite his efforts to clean himself up, his arms were streaked with grime and sweat and you could see the stains of his exertion under his arms and at his neck. His head remained bowed as he began to speak and you got the feeling he had replayed this spiel many times recently.
"Ma'am, I'm very sorry to trouble you. I'm here to see if you are lookin' to take on anyone at the farm at this time?" His voice was deep and rich with an enticing southern twang, sweet as honey whiskey.
"What kind of work can you do?" His eyes raised to your face and the hope you saw in their soft, dark depths almost melted you. As if he hadn't even gotten this far along with anyone for a very long time.
"Just about anything," he answered. "I can drive - harvesters, tractors. I can take care of all kinds of animals, muck 'em out, feed 'em. I've helped birth 'em too, though I know that time is passed for this year. I can sow and harvest by hand too if that's needed. And I can mend things, fences, roofs, you name it." Looking at him appraisingly, your curiosity got the better of you.
"Why are you on foot? Must have travelled an awful long way to get all the way out here." He looked down again, presenting you with the brim of his cap to look at instead and shuffling his feet awkwardly.
"I uh...I lost my own farm. Not too long ago. Sold everything I had to try and keep it afloat. Even my car."
"So, if I were to take you on-" his head snapped up eagerly again. "IF" you emphasised, "Would you be needing a place to stay as well?"
"If you had anywhere that could accommodate me, I would be most grateful for that, yes Ma'am."
"I want you to know that I've been out here on my own for a time. I know how to take care of myself. And I'm sure you heard and can see Tank behind me there." He was nodding as you spoke.
"I don't want no trouble. Just a job and a roof over my head." You eyed him for a few seconds more before stepping back from the door to let him in. He entered gingerly, staring around wide eyed as if he hadn't been inside a house for a long time.
"You hungry?"
"No...I mean, I don't wanna impose-"
"No imposition. If you're gonna work for me, you need feeding. Come with me." The dog whined a little as you approached, and you stroked her head. "Come!" you commanded the dog and she raced away ahead of you. Checking to see the man was following, you led him past the stairs and through the living area to the back. Here you had a small extension set up, with a bathroom and shower and a small room with a sofa which opened out into a bed, ostensibly for guests, though you hadn't had any for years. "You can get yourself cleaned up here. Any clothes you want to wash, you can do in the morning. There's no door to this room, so the only privacy you'll get is in the bathroom I'm afraid."
"This is...fantastic," he said in a low tone. "I've slept outside for a week or more, so this is just...Thank you ma'am," he finished, humbly. You left him to it and went to prepare him a plate of leftovers. When he finally emerged, scrubbed and fresh half an hour later, you bid him sit at the table and presented him with it. Without all that dirt streaking him and without his cap on you could finally see how good he looked and you had to tear your eyes away from the fullness of his lips before you went too far down that rabbit hole. The man was clearly desperate, hanging on to the shreds of the dignity of his old life by his fingertips. There was no way you were going to make him feel like he owed you anything by taking him in. You left him be until you heard him hum with satiated pleasure about ten minutes later.
"Better?" you asked.
"Better," he smiled.
"I see you've made a friend," you said wryly, gesturing to the large hairy head currently resting on one of his feet. You trusted your gut about this man, you didn't imagine him to be anything than he had said he was. But you had to be cautious for obvious reasons. The dog, however, had proved to be a truly excellent judge of character in the past and it warmed you to see her take to him so readily.
"I think I may have bribed my way into her affections. Chicken," he clarified.
"That'll do it," you smiled. He insisted on washing his own plate and then there was an awkward silence between you for a time as he stood in your living room, not really knowing what to do with himself. "Hey, you can sit and watch TV with me, or you can hit your bed if you want. I won't be offended either way."
"I...I think I will go to bed. I'm kinda lookin' forward to it."
"I can understand that," you said as you handed him pillows, blankets and fresh sheets to make it up with. "Just so you know, the dog sleeps down here too. She shouldn't wake you. And help yourself to water in the night, coffee in the morning. Whatever you want."
"Thank you," he said again, his eyes catching yours and looking happier than you had seen them thus far. "Goodnight."
The man worked like a machine. Having lived this life for many years, you were accustomed to being up before dawn, but he beat you to it the next morning, greeting you with a soft "Good morning," and handing you a cup of coffee that he had prepared. He kept up a pace all day, and you moved around each other around the farm, lifting your hands or voices in greeting when you passed. You couldn't help but notice how the soft cotton of his shirt creaked at the seams when he moved his broad shoulders, nor how deft his hands were at every task he set them to. The dog had begun to follow him everywhere and you found yourself liking that too, despite the mild sting of betrayal. He came in to help with lunch and after he washed up, set to chopping salad and buttering bread.
"This is gonna sound weird, but erm...your dog...she ain't partly deaf or anything is she?"
"No, why?"
"Its just, she comes when I whistle, but not when I call."
"Ohhh," you said, realisation hitting you like a wave. "Yeah, well, last night I might not have told you her proper name. I er...I wanted to make her seem a little more intimidating than she is. Just in case, you know. Hence Tank. Though she ruined that when she drooled all over your shoes." He gave a small chuckle, his eyes sparkling.
"So what is her name?"
"Cookie." At this, you heard the tell tale sound of Cookie's claws on the kitchen tiles. "Good girl," you threw over your shoulder at her.
"Well, that suits her a lot better'n Tank. She's so friendly."
"Only to the good ones. You should have seen her with the last man that came in here. She knew he was a wrong 'un. Took me a while to catch on, but I get there in the end." You turned your head to find him looking at you with sympathy and a touch of anger. "Like I said, I can take care of myself," you added and moved on with your day. In his first week staying with you he managed to do most of the little jobs that had been irritating, but not bad enough to address. The tap in the kitchen no longer dripped. All of the fencing was entirely without holes for the first time in forever. The roof of the chicken coop was renewed. You decided to celebrate by breaking out some beers in the evening and sat with him on your porch, watching the sky slowly turn from gold to apricot to scarlet. Once he had started to feel less awkward around you, you found him to be good company - intelligent and curious and with a good sense of humour and even your silences were now companionable, especially a few beers in.
"Need to plant some more things in the garden," he grunted, slurring a little. "Maybe some beets and some radishes?"
"That sounds good," you agreed, "but for tonight, just switch off a bit. Enjoy the beer and the view. You've more than earned it."
"Oh, I'm enjoyin' the view alright," he said. There was something low and sinful in his voice that made you turn your head to him in astonishment and definite interest, but as you did, his eyes grew wide and he started to splutter. "Oh God, I apologise. I haven't had a beer in months and I guess my tolerance ain't what it was. I...I didn't mean to offend. I didn't mean to say that."
"Didn't you?"
"No, I-I'm sorry." Putting your beer down, you came to stand in front of him, placing your hands on his knees and running them up his thighs.
"Are you sure you didn't mean it?" And suddenly the realisation of your own drunkenness came crashing around you. What were you thinking? You couldn't take advantage of him like this. He had nowhere else to go and he had said he wasn't interested. You straightened abruptly. "No, I'm sorry. This is wrong. I'm...I'm going to bed." And you did so, walking swiftly away before he could see the redness of your face.
The next morning, your coffee lay on the counter and you could see him outside the house pottering around. Berating yourself for an idiot for ruining the good feelings you had built up between you, you went about your own tasks in a crotchety mood. He didn't come in for lunch either, and you began to get a little worried about him. Deciding to tackle the problem head on, you brought him out a Tupperware with some food and some water. Eventually you found him in the barn, measuring some of the beams. He hadn't noticed you come in and you stood and openly stared for a moment at the sight of him with no shirt on under his overalls. It was pretty warm in here - you were starting to feel the effects yourself. His back was broad and muscular and his shoulder muscles rolled as you watched him reach up to measure something above him.
"Er...hi," you ventured, a little shyly. He whirled to face you, looking as if he had been caught doing something he shouldn't. "I'm sorry to bother you, I just thought you might want some lunch." You deposited it on the hay bale closest to you and carried on, keeping your voice light, "And to say that I'm sorry about yesterday. You said no and I shouldn't have pushed it. I don't want you thinking you have to do anything like that to stay here!"
"Thank you," he said softly as he made his way over to you. "But..I said no because we had both been drinkin' and because I didn't wanna take advantage of anythin' I wasn't bein' offered freely and honestly." His eyes raked over your face, black and piercing in the half light inside the barn. He was so close to you, you could smell the lemon scent of his soap and the musky smell of him underneath. There was a sheen of sweat across his chest and before you could stop yourself or think too deeply about what you were doing, your hands were upon him, feeling the taut, strong muscles of his pectorals. You bit your lip a little as you raised your eyes to his.
"You're not taking advantage," you whispered. "I want this." That was all the invitation he needed to crash his lips upon yours with a fervent desire. His big hands circled your waist and roved your back as his tongue begged entrance at your mouth. Your own hand moved down his overalls to where he was starting to bulge, massaging his length and making him moan into your mouth.
"Christ, I...I've not been with anyone for so long. That feels so good, don't stop." You heeded him, but also brought one of his hands from around your back to your breast where he began to knead it intensely and he groaned again, in between peppering your mouth and neck with kisses. "Fuck, you're so pretty. I thought so from th' first moment I saw you. I didn't know how to say..." For someone usually so reticent, he was on a roll now he had your tit in his hand and you were palming him through his overalls.
You snaked your hands up his body again and undid his overalls, letting them fall and pool around his feet where they landed. His body was gorgeous, broad and muscular with a little fuzz over his chest and running down his stomach. You ran your hands all over it, feeling the slickness of the sweat beading through his hair under your hands and feeling your own body begin to heat and respond in earnest, your clit throbbing a little between your legs. He kicked off his boots, and took off his socks and overalls in one swoop before taking you back in his arms and kissing you ardently again. His hand slid up your shirt and hiked it up, the sweat at your back making it stick to you a little. You broke the kiss to hurl it from your head and away, closely followed by your bra.
"Oh fuck baby, your tits are so beautiful. Lemmie taste you." He got on his knees in front of you and did just that, taking your nipple in his mouth and sucking on it harshly whilst rubbing your other nipple between his thumb and forefinger. Exhaling a moan of pleasure, you tangled your fingers into his dark waves and pulled him even closer, feeling his smile against your chest as his free hand undid the buttons on your jeans. You could feel the wetness in your underwear now, the telltale stripe of moisture under your cunt as he coaxed that sweet feeling all through your veins with his tongue and fingers on your nipple.
"I want you to fuck me," you gasped. "Need you to fuck me hard."
"Oh don't you worry, baby, I'm gonna take good care of you," he murmured against your skin as he pulled the material down your legs. "Fuck, you're so wet already. I can see it on your panties. I wanna taste you there too. Can I?" His big dark eyes looked up at you with pleading and what you would have called innocence had he not already been flicking his tongue back over your nipple, making you squirm and huff with the pleasurable tickle of it. In reply you pulled the rest of your clothes away from you, but before he could reach his prize you took his jaw in your hand and brought his head up to look at you. He was instantly attentive and alert, looking slightly worried, as If you might have changed your mind in the few seconds it had taken for you to remove your clothes.
"You can taste me, if I can taste you afterwards," you offered.
"Hell yeah you can," he muttered appreciatively as he got to his feet and lifted you on to a haybale. The straw poked you roughly and mercilessly, but you forgot about that when he leaned over you and kissed you deeply again. "Gonna make you feel real good, honey," he promised again before kissing a path downward. He hooked your legs over his biceps and ran his forearms up to your breasts, teasing your nipples again before diving right in to lick warm, wide stripes from your cunt to your clit. It had been so long since anyone had been intimate with you, your head felt dizzy and overwhelmed, but he took it to another level with the enthusiasm he brought to the task. He lapped at you and what you were leaking as if he were a man starved, pushing his face into you, so you could feel his patchy stubble rub against your inner thighs, and sucking gently on your clit. It took an embarrassingly short time before your breaths came stunted and your voice rose in a wail of pleasure as he drove you to your peak, the red hot lava of it flowing from your core throughout your body. He ripped a second from you when he pushed two thick fingers inside and curled them wonderfully to strike against that part inside you that you yourself could never reach. His eyes glittered with lust as you came down from your high and you swore you could come again just from the look he was giving you from between your legs. He kissed your inner thighs and wiped his mouth as he came in for another kiss, your taste all over his tongue and lips.
"Your turn." you announced breathlessly, as you got down from the bale on shaky legs. Not breaking eye contact, you knelt in front of him, the straw on the floor not much of a cushion for your knees. He moaned loudly as you raked your nails down his side, catching them on the waistband of his underwear and pulling them down, allowing his cock to spring free and bob up toward his stomach. You had felt that he was well endowed, but seeing him was something else entirely and you couldn't help the hum of appreciation that escaped you before you leaned forward kissed the reddened tip, his precum brushing over your lips. You looked up at him as you licked it off and could see his breaths coming heavy and wild, his shoulders and chest heaving in anticipation. His hands came around to tangle in your hair as you licked a swirl over his tip before taking it in your mouth and sucking gently whilst moving down his shaft.
"Fuck, baby. You're so good. C-can I move?" You brought your hands around to the firmness of his ass and moved him forward a little to give him permission and saw his head roll back in pleasure. He seemed to not want to hurt you and fucked your mouth much more gently than you thought he would. Your head bobbed further and further down his shaft until he was striking the back of it, making you gag a little. Raising yourself back off, you pumped him with your hand while swirling your tongue over his tender head. When you brought your other hand to cradle his balls he trembled a little under your touch. "Honey, I do not want you to stop, but if you don't I won't be able to fuck you before I come." You removed your mouth from him slowly, hollowing your cheeks and sucking hard as you progressed.
He helped you to your feet and reached down to stroke your clit again while he kissed your lips, the taste of you both mingling in your mouths. Turning your back to him you bent over the hay bale, presenting yourself to him and you heard a guttural sound of arousal behind you before the head of his cock was notching at your entrance and pushing in all at once, stretching you and making you whimper as he bent over your back and kissed your shoulder. "Are you ok, baby?" he muttered. "Does this feel good?"
"Yes," you whispered. "Now fuck me hard."
He bit down a little on the meat of your shoulder and whispered a low "Yes, Ma'am," before standing fully and beginning to piston his hips into you with forceful, firm strokes, his cock pushing further within you each time. It was overwhelming and even more so when he pushed down on your back further so that he was fucking down into you and sliding over your spot with each thrust. The change in pitch of your gasping moans and the wetness that you could suddenly feel around the tops of your thighs encouraged him to fuck you even harder, his cock swelling as he got close to his release and filling you up beautifully. "Like that, honey? Right there?" he grunted as you started to feel yourself lose control around him.
"Yes, there, please, don't stop, please," you begged. He captured your arms and pulled you further back toward him, and suddenly he was striking something white hot and golden inside and you were gone, your cunt pulsating around him and flooding him with you. Your head was so dizzied that you only noticed he had pulled you flush against his sweat-sticky chest when his arms were around you, grasping greedily at your breasts and the hot breath of his rich, deep voice was beside your ear.
"Where-"
"inside." He drove into you half a dozen more times before he cried your name aloud and you felt him pulsate strongly within you, jettisoning his spend into you with groans muffled against your shoulder. As he withdrew, he held you up gently before turning you and lying you on the bale he had just taken you over, coming to lie down beside you with his big eyes searching your face and his big calloused hands stroking the soft skin of your belly. The sweet summer sun was slanting over his face, turning his black eyes amber in its glow and you felt a welcome twinge in your heart as you took his face in your hand and kissed him.

"if i love you was a promise, would you break it if you're honest?"
index
You walk towards the classroom with your palms sweating and your heart about to beat right out of your chest. You had just confessed to Katsuki thinking he also felt the same, but all he replied was a lousy 'you don't even know me'.
You furrow your brows, clenching your palms into fists in irritation. How am I so stupid? I came to Japan to prove myself and to that dumb father of mine that I can be a powerful hero! And yet here I am being swept off track by some lousy high school crush!
"Careful- if you stare any harder you're gonna melt holes through the walls." A tired and very familiar voice calls out feom behind you. You turn around, anger still clouding your head as your eyes fall on a violet-haired boy.
"Careful- if you don't do anything about your lack of sleep anytime soon you're gonna collapse." You spat back; suddenly everything around you vexes you. You send a mental message to everyone in school; today you're hot-headed, your patience is as thin as a hair strand and taking out your anger through physical violence seems like an amazing idea right about now.
"Jokes on you, I've been like this my whole life and I've never collapsed." He smirks, causing you to raise a brow. "Okay maybe I never collapsed from my lack of sleep."
"Look what the hell do you want?"
"Well- thought you looked pretty upset." He holds up two pastel yellow-colored papers. "And I just so happen to have two free ice cream passes for that new ice cream place right beside the campus." He takes a look at his watch, "We still have an hour and thirty minutes till the bell rings. What do you say?"
"And that idiot just says 'you barely even know me'" You wave your hands up, making a dumb face as well as a dumb voice to match, "like hello! I know I barely know you and that's why I feel so upset and conflicted right now! You get what I mean???" You huff back on your seat, shoving the small pink translucent teaspoon in your mouth.
Shinsou nods his head, eyes on his ice cream as he shoves a few scoops in his mouth. "Mmm- this banana flavor tastes amazing. You should try it." He offers his cup to you, making you frown.
"You're such a jerk! I thought you brought me here to let me vent out my anger." You frown, your eyebrows knitting together as you place your cup on the table, leaning back on your seat as you crossed your arms.
"I did. I listened as you vented out your anger to me and we're having ice cream but I never said we were going to talk about the situation." He points out, annoyingly unbothered expression resting on his face as he continues eating his own ice cream.
You look at him in irritation and silence for a few moments, trying to calm yourself before taking your little teaspoon and scooping a bit from his own cup. You shove the scoop inside your mouth, pouting. "The banana tastes amazing." You huff, expression still angry.
Shinsou chuckles lightly, the small smile actually lighting up his usually dark features. "It is, isn't it?" You've only ever met one person with a so-called 'contagious smile' and he was the funny boy you met at the park one day.
Ethan will have to share his spot in my list for 'contagious smiles'. You thought to yourself, letting a smile break your frown as you look down at your ice cream.
"Have you seen the new conjuring movie? It's pretty cool, a solid six out of ten." He shrugs. You shake your head, "I can't watch scary movies. I won't be able to sleep especially now that I live alone."
He raises a brow at you, "Oh come on. We can watch it together through video chat or something. I really wanna see you piss yourself while watching it." He chuckles, causing you to squint your eyes at him. "Is that a challenge?" You point your spoon accusingly at him.
"What if it is? You gonna back out? Loser?" He pushes jokingly, mirroring your squinted eyes. You bring your hand on the table in a fist, "Oh it's on."
Shinso walks you to your classroom just five minutes before the bell is about to ring. "How can I contact you?" He asks, doing the thing with his hand behind his nape as he looks away. "Here." You tug at his hand, writing down your discord account with a marker. "Call me after the sun sets. I'll be home by then."
He waves you good bye and you step in, almost completely forgetting about why you were annoyed so early in the morning. Your eyes fall on the blond boy, still looking angry as usual. His eyes meet yours for a fraction of a second before your looking towards your seat.
As you sit down, the bell rings and in comes Aizawa, tired as ever. "Today, you will all be choosing your hero names. This has a lot to do with the Pro-Hero draft picks and because you are only first years, any offers can be taken back before you graduate." He explains, pointing at a chart where Todoroki's, Katsuki's and your names are written at the top with thousands of heroes wanting to recruit you.
"You will all spend one week interning with the pro heroes you choose or those who chose you, depending on if you have multiple offers or just one." Aizawa continues to talk about the importance of hero names before Midnight walks in the classroom.
The class begins to cheer in excitement as they all are given boards and markers for their names. The cheering and yelling dies down in a few minutes but the excitement doesn't. You smile, feeling your heart throb at the innocent looks in your classmates' faces.
Each of you all are being called up to present your hero names and as your turn slowly comes closer, your palms begin to sweat and that feeling of not being able to stand properly hits you.
"L/n Y/n. It's your turn, come on up sweetie." Midnight calls for you, curling her fingers a few times. You stand from your seat, walking towards the front, keeping your eyes forward and looking anywhere but Katsuki's eyes.
You flip your board around. "I chose the name Tempest. It means a violent windy storm." Midnight claps her hands, "I love it! Basically telling the villains not to mess with the storm." She cheers, allowing you to walk back to your seat.
"So! Have you guys chosen an agency yet?" Mina asks, shoveling food in her mouth as Kirishima and Sero follow suit. You shrug your shoulders, "I'm having a difficult time choosing between Hawks' agency or Endeavor's agency. I want to work on my speed but then again, Endeavor's the number two. It'd be a waste to throw this chance away."
"And yet," Denki points his fork at you, "It's also a waste to throw away the chance of working with Hawks. I heard he's the youngest pro right now who has his own agency and is in the top ten."
As you were about to scold the blond for talking with his mouth full, Katsuki marches towards the table, setting his tray down before sitting down beside Kirishima. You look at the empty space beside you and your mood immediately turns sour.
Wow. Sure, he has the right to feel uncomfortable with my sudden confession but to not actually have some type of closure? You sigh, not bothering to finish your food before standing up. You slide your tray to Denki, earning a cheery mouthful 'thanks!' from him before you walk away.
You walk out the classroom upset, tired and hungry. Your mind races back to the tuna sandwhiches the cafe sold and your mouth immediately begins to water.
"Hey idiot."
All your food fantasies disappear the moment his gruff yet very warm and relaxing voice calls out to you. To make sure you weren't about to embarrass yourself, you look in front of you, searching for someone else only to be greeted by an empty hallway.
Slowly, you turn around, pressing your lips together as you look at Katsuki with the most nonchalant look you could pull, no matter how much you wanted to scowl at him.
"What's up?" You ask, mentally slapping yourself. What's up? What's up??? Who the fuck do you think you are to him, Kirishima??
He looks awaw, walking towards you. "They have new matcha cookies today. I checked before I got here."
You stand there, staring at him for a second, two seconds, five- ten- "Dumbass. Yo. Can you hear me?" Katsuki snaps his fingers in front of you, gaining your attention as he snaps you out of your daze- literally. "Well?"
As much as you want to say yes, accept his offer and just live a happy life, you didn't want to live a confusing one where you get hurt in the end. "I don't see why you have to do this, honestly." You look to your right, looking out the windows.
"We hang out, I feel like you're treating me differently than the others, I feel like I'm special to you, I recognize my feelings, and although I feel conflicted and upset I still confess my feelings to you." You grip onto your bag, "And you respond to me by what- telling me I barely know you?"
You look back at him, the corners of your lips pulled downwards sightly. "Katsuki I- I got the message, okay? Don't do whatever this is to me because from my point of view, you're leading me on cause you can't voice out or even figure out your own feelings." You motion your arms between the two of you. "If you liked hanging out with me, I'm sorry but I gotta keep some distance between the two of us before I go confessing to you again like an idiot."
You stand there, eyes dropped to the floor in silence.
Say something, you idiot! Fucking say something to me! Tell me how you feel- it doesn't matter if it'll hurt me, just say something!
"I'm sorry."
You look up at him, confused. His brows are knitted together in dejection as his shoulders sag momentarily.
You feel your eyes prickle with tears as you nod, pressing your lips together. "Okay." You click your tongue, turning away as you walked from the unnervingly quiet boy.
As you reach your apartment, the sun has already set, you're tired, your cheeks are stained and are still being stained with tears and your phone is blaring.
You answer it without another thought, Shinsou's tired and relaxed voice giving you a soft 'hey'. You can hold it in much longer as you break down into sobs.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong? Talk to me, Y/n." He sounds genuinely concerned. You sob for a few moments, letting out all the emotion you've pent up inside you as you walked back to your apartment.
"I-I just-"
Another call interrupts the two of you, making you furrow your brows. "Hold on-" You sob, your eyes scanning down your screen to see your mom calling you. You put your call with Shinsou on hold, answering your mom.
"Hey mom!" You cheer, trying to act as gleeful as possible. "Hey baby! So I heard you have a boyfriend, your aunt Miwa sent me a picture of the two of you in the paintball place? I just thought maybe you wanted to know about that boy's abrasive and violent past?"
He's not your boyfriend.
"What- you looked into him?" You yell.
"Well I had to! It's my first time my baby has a boyfriend. Anyway, I don't mean to be that mom but I don't think he's a good fit for you, honey. He's bullied countless students in middle school and after observing how he acted in the sports festival, I don't think that boy changed at all." Your mother does sound truly concerned for you but everything seemed to be too much for you today.
Before you can even think of the sentences you want to say, you hear a knock on your door. You sigh, pacing towards it as you pull it open, brows furrowing in anger at the sight of your father in front of you.
"Y/n I just want a second chance-"
You yell.
You yell out your frustrations, your sadness, your hesrtsches, everything. Every single emotion you felt today just came pouring out as you yelled from the top of your lungs.
Your body falls to the floor as your limbs begin feeling like jell-o and your head begins to spin. You hear your father ordering his guards around frantically, but his words are all muffled and unclear. You begin seeing double- seeing two of your father really isn't helping right now.
"Hey, Y/n, baby keep your eyes open for me. I'll bring you to the hospital just-"
"Can all of you just shut the fuck up for a moment?" You whisper weakly before darkness swallows you up once again.
It's cold. It's dark. You're alone.
You're always alone.

love me, hate me - part one
Warnings: swearing, angst if you squint, mild violence
Word count: 3.7k
Summary: Who knew Ransom would get so worked up about a few stolen beers?
Or: In which he's a sucker for you but those were his favorite beers.
He didn't know why he put up with your shit. If you had been anyone else, you'd be working at a dead end job that barely covered your bills instead of walking around the mansion in your brand new Lois Vuitton purse, Jimmy Choo heels that screamed for him to fuck you, and a tight dress he wanted to tear off.
You even had the balls to call him Hugh, a name he specifically reserved for the help. When he informed you, you had rolled your pretty powdered eyes, sneering at him for being an inconsiderate asshole before asking why he wasn't calling himself Hugh due to the massive help sign that was disguised as his cashmere sweater.
Ransom didn't know if he wanted to hurt you or make you his. He preferred the latter but with the way you were pushing him, he wouldn't be surprised with himself if you somehow found yourself in the backseat of his car, tied up and awaiting for him to fuck you senseless. If you had been anyone else, he would ruin your life without hesitation.
He tried to hate you, he really did and usually, it wouldn't be hard for him to hate someone. Most of the time it barely took him a glance for him to decide to loathe the person. But as he tried harder to hate you, forget you, and ignore you, the more you wiggled your way into his every thought. Even then he couldn't hate you. It made part of him want to ditch family gatherings where he knew you would show, being Meg's best friend, and another part of him was exhilarated.
You on the other hand dreaded being dragged into another Thrombey's family gathering where it all ended in arguments and racists comments. The only people you were able to stomach were Harlan, his adorable nurse, Martha, and of course, your best friend Meg. Whenever the conversation began to look like a shouting match, the two of you would sneak away to get high with the maid, Fran.
Ransom was an asshole, a hot, smoldering asshole with enough snarky remarks that would make any sane person hang themselves. You knew he wasn't a fan of yours, which was only good news for you; you hated him, too. The expression "there's a little bit of good in everyone." applied to everyone except him, not that you weren't surprised. Truth to be told, you wouldn't put it past him to kill a family member if they pissed him off enough.
With the number of jabs you made at his expense, you were shocked he hadn't ruined your life yet. Maybe you had a death wish dangling over you, or maybe you just liked pushing him but you made it your little mission to ruin his evening since yours would be the second he stepped in the room.
Meg nudged you with her elbow, leaving a sore spot on your ribs. You gave her a dirty glare, looking up from your Instagram feed. She motioned to the large mansion ahead, the car slowing. "Okay, the plan is to get drunk, but not enough for my drunk relatives to notice and once they're having one of their dumb-ass debates, we sneak off to Fran's room and smoke a few. That sound good?"
Stretching, you nodded, tucking your phone away. "Yeah, that's fine. Remind me how I ended up spending Thanksgiving break with you, again? What did I ever do to deserve such a punishment?"
"You crushed your parent's wishes on becoming a lawyer, instead became an Instagram model, and the holidays with them are too long for you to hear how their daughter could've convicted criminals instead of posting bikini pics," Meg replied, grinning at your sarcastic pout. She stopped the car right beside her mom's. "Come on, it won't be that bad."
"That's what you said last time. Do you not remember how that little reunion ended?" you asked, opening the car door and getting out. The little gravel on the cemented driveway crunched under your new heels, making you grimace.
Meg shut her door, grabbing her purse. She waited at her side of the car and you both walked up to the door. "Actually, I don't. I'm surprised you can especially with all the weed you smoked."
Rolling your eyes, your mind wandered to the man who had killed your buzz. "Your asshole of a cousin ruined my buzz just by opening his mouth. He could be so much hotter if he never utters a single word ever again."
"Please stop talking about Ransom, it's making my lunch come back up." Meg whined, her feet trudging up the steps. Your heels clicked on the wooden porch. "Which reminds me, he kept asking if you were going to be here. Be careful, he might have a little trap to humiliate you in front of my family. If that happens, just knee him in the balls, and we can go to Cabo or something."
You made a face, cringing just thinking of Ransom asking about you, let alone imagining some kind of plan to embarrass you. "Ugh, what a dick. It's time like this that I regret not going back to my crazy family for holidays."
"You'll be fine. Hopefully. Let's go see Harlan." she opened the door, taking off the lush coat draped over her shoulders before placing it on the spacious coat closet by the entrance. She held her hand out for yours and you slid it off handing it over for her to hang up.
Martha greeted you before you could take another step, the Latina smiling at both of you. "I'm so glad both of you are here. The rest came in before you and they've been bickering since."
You both gave her knowing smiles, the loud discussion so heated you could hear it from all the way across the house. Meg sighed, snaking an arm around yours and Martha, pulling you towards Fran's quarters. "Looks like Harlan will have to wait. I'm not going in there sober."
Martha shook her head, slipping her arm out from Meg's grasp. "Sorry, I don't drink and I have to serve them before they get any rowdier. Between the three of us, I'd rather not see another fist brawl this holiday."
You let out a dry chuckle, fixing the hem of your dress. What were you thinking wearing such a tight dress to a party where Richard Drysdale would mentally undress you with his beady eyes. "We'll come with you, now won't we, Meg?"
She groaned, getting pulled by you, her feet dragging on the hard floor. "We're spending Christmas at your parents' house. You can suffer the family drama because I've had it up to here with mine."
"Oh, you big baby." you teased, following Martha to the living room with Meg in tow. You'd think with all the drama she endured from her crazy mother she'd be able to handle a little more from her crazy relatives. "Wanna mess with that racist, whiney troll?"
Meg's lips lifted into a smile. "That's why you're my best friend."
Martha took a turn towards the kitchen instead of the living room, leaving you and Meg to enter the roomful of crazies alone. Some heads turned but not enough to stop the little debate happening.
Jacob sat at the uncomfortable seat in the corner of the room, watching and tapping the screen in front of him, his eyes never tearing from the device. Linda and Donna sat side by side while their husbands had a screaming match with the other. Joni stood by the fireplace, sipping her wine, and occasionally input some random Pinterest inspirational shit. Your eyes landed on the man you thought would take his sweet time arriving.
Hugh Ransom Drysdale sat at his self-proclaimed seat, eating his Biscoff butter cookies, a smirk evident on his face as he watched you walk into the room. He tried to ignore the way his heart raced, blaming it on the cookies and his seven-month dry spell.
You broke free from Meg's arm, pouring yourself a flute full of champagne, swallowing every last drop before making your way to the plush couch, sitting beside your best friend. Your perfume whiffed in the air as you passed Ransom, making him sit up in his chair. You sat close enough for him to reach over and touch you, but he didn't.
Linda gave you the warmest smile she could muster, interrupting the men's argument to greet you. "Hello, darling. Glad you could make it. At least now there's someone in the room with half a brain."
Walt sneered at his sister before giving you a half-hearted smile. "Hey, kid. Your dad still adamant you become a lawyer?"
"Yup," you answered, pulling out your phone, seeing a bunch of notifications from said person. "Why else do you think I let Meg kidnap me, Walt? No offense, but Thanksgiving at the Thrombey's doesn't classify as peaceful or relaxing."
Ransom guffawed, earning glares from his family members. He smirked at you, biting off a piece from his cookies. "Finally, someone who speaks the truth. No wonder she's his favorite."
That subject launched another debate: deciding who was Harlan's favorite. It was no doubt, Martha was but you did come at a close second. Ransom knew, and he didn't want to miss an opportunity to watch his relatives fight. He was a dick that way. He glanced at you, seeing your phone light up as you whispered a secret to Meg. You ignored the phone call, turning over the phone.
While the rest of the family argued, you left Meg's side, getting up from the uncomfortable couch, and walked out of the room. Ransom watched you, licking his lips at the sight of sashaying, hips swaying, and heels clicking. The crotch of his pants grew uncomfortably tight.
Meg watched him watch you with narrowed eyes, suspicious by her cousin's behavior. He may be 33 but he still acted like a teen, and with her best friend pushing him, there was no telling what he'd do. "If you do anything stupid or remotely offensive to her, I'll make sure to send her your head for her next birthday. Maybe she'll have it taxidermied, and hang it up."
Ransom smirked, tossing the last of his cookie in his mouth, chewing as he looked down at his cousin. "That'll only give me a view of a lifetime. My, this college you go to doesn't seem to teach manners does it? Charming as ever, Meg."
She scowled at him, getting up in the middle of the argument. She couldn't stop whatever he was planning if she didn't know what he had in mind but she wasn't going to ruin this holiday for her best friend. Meg followed you to the kitchen, seeing you take a shot glass from Martha. "Drinking already?"
"Don't judge me. Lemme wallow in the warmth and love of the alcohol that your family isn't capable of," you replied, drinking the clear liquid, grimacing as it burned your throat. Martha handed you the chaser, her timid personality making her put a comforting hand on your shoulder. "Thanks, Martha."
Meg took the bottle of vodka, pouring herself a shot before offering it to Martha who had shaken her head. "You sure?"
She nodded, placing the bottle back in its place. "Yeah, I don't need to be drunk when serving those people. It seems like it's even worse out there than before."
"Thank Ransom. That bastard decided to start another fight just by opening his mouth," you said, sipping on a glass of water. Sniffing the room, you smelt the Thanksgiving dinner Martha had to cook by herself. You knew she had to make a special meal for Ransom since he wouldn't dare put the traditional food in his mouth. Too bad, it'd shut him up. "Why is he here, anyway? Isn't he usually the last one to get here?"
"Usually, but he came with Linda and Richard. Don't worry, you're not the only confused." Martha answered. The oven timer beeped and she opened it, taking out the pumpkin pie. She held it out. "What do you guys think?"
"Looks delicious," Meg replied, looking around the room. The sun was setting and soon you would have to face Ransom again, for dinner. "Do you need any help, Martha? We could help you set up the table or something."
"No, it's fine. I have everything taken care of," she said, nearly dropping the big turkey. Meg helped her, carrying it to the counter. Martha smiled sheepishly. "I guess I could use some help. Meg, do you mind stirring the gravy? And [Y/N], would you please place some knives at the table?"
Both you and Meg nodded, helping the poor nurse. Harlan must've let Fran have the day off or else she'd be all over this. Meg grabbed a plastic ladle from the drawers while you took a handful of knives, leaving the kitchen and walking to the dining room. The long table had been filled with plates, glasses, and napkins, the only thing missing was silverwares. Harlan would have to give Martha a raise.
You had just placed the first knife down when Ransom came in the room, leaning against the arch, arms crossed as he took you in. Watching you, he realized he might have a knife kink, only when it comes to you. You raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to make some kind of remark.
When he didn't, you sighed, tossing a knife onto a clothed napkin. "Yes, you pretentious asshole?"
He chuckled, pushing himself off the wood and walking towards you. "Hello to you, too. Why exactly are you doing that? Shouldn't that Mary girl be taking care of everything?"
Oh, the urge to stab a knife in his face--it was almost too much to resist. "It's Martha and unlike you, I'm nice enough to offer help rather than be a lazy prick who no one loves. Karma's gonna bite you in the ass one day, baby."
Ransom snorts, walking up next to you, so close you could feel the heat coming off of him. "You know, my dear cousin mentioned something about some prank she thinks I'm going to pull on you. Do you know what's going on in that stoned brain of hers?"
"Ransom?" you asked, making your way around the large table, placing knives where they belonged. Gritting your teeth into a smile, you turned to him. "I mean this in the best way possible: fuck off."
He would never dare admit it, to himself even, but that hurt him a little. Not enough to break his smug exterior. "Aw, I like you, too, sweetheart. Hurts when you don't admit you do, too. Want some help on the other silverware?"
Your jaw dropped, the knife slipping through your fingers and Ransom caught it quickly. He placed the knife on the empty, designated napkin. "You're fucking with me."
"No, but I sure would like to fuck you." he grinned, the hidden objective twinkling in his eyes. You rolled your eyes, returning back to the kitchen with Ransom following. "Can't a guy help out around here?"
Ransom grabbed your hand before you could push the kitchen door open. He gently led you to the dark, almost hidden hallway beside the dining room. You snatched your hand back, your elbow grazing the wall behind you. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Spending time with my favorite person," Ransom answered, the smirk gone as he backed you to the wall behind you, leaving you no room to escape. Not that you wanted to. His eyes dropped to your lips, only to darken when yours flashed to his. "Why're you so special? Why do you keep invading my thoughts, my dreams, huh? What're you doing to me?"
That made you smile, amused he couldn't stop thinking about your body. You drag your manicured finger down his blue sweater, earning a shaky breath from him. "Glad to know you have wet dreams about me, Hugh. Hmm, what do you get off to, anyway? Degradation? BDSM? Or are you vanilla in bed? With the way you act, it makes me wonder if you even have a dick."
He growled, slamming you into the wall so hard your head made a loud thud. You'd be lying if you said it didn't turn you on a bit. You did like it rough. "Your a guest here, act with respect, [Y/N]. Close that mouth before you say something you'll regret."
"Wouldn't you like it if I used my mouth for something useful?" you breathed, hands resting on his shoulders, pulling him closer to you. His eyes drifted to your lips, tongue darting out to moisten his own. "Yeah, you would."
"What that mouth do, sweetheart?"
You heard the oven timer ding and you smiled, moving your lips to his ear. "Eat."
—
His thigh brushed against yours, a hand "accidentally" landing on your bare thigh, his fingers wrapping around the leg. You flashed him a hard smile before moving your thigh away, almost kicking his wife across the table. You scooted closer to Ransom, hoping to avoid his father's uncomfortable advances. If it wasn't for Linda, you would've stabbed the knife you were holding in his hand.
Apparently, you scooted a bit too close to Ransom for him to raise an eyebrow at you, the hint of a soft grin appearing. You glared at him. "Don't."
Ransom chuckled softly, moving closer, close enough for your shoulders to touch. "Now who likes my company?"
"I do like your company... said no one ever." you snapped, keeping enough distance from Richard's wandering hands. If you could, you would've rip his fingers off, but the Thrombey's were too powerful. Ransom threw you a glance, looking between you and the gap between your chairs. You grit your teeth. "What?"
"I didn't say anything."
You pushed away from the table, frustrated with everything about your situation. Tossing your napkin on your plate, you stood up, catching everyone's eye. "Excuse me."
Meg was in the middle of eating her share of the turkey, looking up with a piece of the skin hanging from her mouth. If you hadn't felt so uncomfortable, you would've laughed. She sat up, tilting her head in question as she covered her mouth. You shook you head, assuring her you'd be fine.
Ransom's eyes followed you as you walked by Harlan, giving him a gentle peck on the cheek and a hug before walking out of the dining room. He didn't think he'd ever be jealous of his grandfather. He waited a few seconds before following you, Meg's narrowed eyes watching him as he walked with purpose—he just didn't know what that was yet.
He heard your door slam before he could take a step up the stairs, leaving him confused on what to do. Ransom knew you would reject his company, not that he would blame you. Yet, he felt a little pang in his chest that he ignored, blaming it on the salty turkey. He'd have to go to the doctor soon, check out what was going on with his heart. It might be something serious like palpitations.
Sighing, he went to the kitchen, grabbing a beer and dragged his feet back to his room, trying to forget about the effect you had on him.
It didn't work.
—
Crawling out of bed, you tiptoed down the hall, careful not make a sound as you made your way downstairs. The stairs were loud and you cringed, hoping everyone was deep asleep. Meg had passed out after smoking Fran's stash, plopping down on her bed in your shared bedroom. She reeked of weed and that hadn't help you sleep at all.
You snuck into the kitchen, the soft counter lights bright in the dark room. Walking over to the fridge, you pulled it open, seeing Ransom's alleged "best" beer right at the front. Rolling your eyes, you grab one, popping the cap off. You took a sip, agreeing with the asshole; it was great beer.
Unfortunately, he chose that right moment to have a midnight snack. The kitchen door opened and Ransom was greeted by the sight of you drinking his beer in your tight tank top and booty shorts. It was enough for him to lose it.
Angrily, he walked up to you, snatching the beer from your hand, some of it dripping on the floor. He held it up in front of you with a sneer on his face. "What the hell do you think you're doing with my beer?"
You flinched when he threw it across the room, the shards sprinkling out on the floor. If his yelling hadn't woken up anyone, that certainly would've. Rolling your eyes, you sighed, crossing your arms. "Don't you mean Harlan's beer? It's not like you bought that beer from your own pocket since you don't do shit."
"Oh, I don't do shit? Unlike you I don't depend on horny men and lesbians for likes in order to keep a roof over my head." he spits, pushing you back against the counter.
"No, you just take money from mommy and daddy." you fired back, amused by his anger. You decided then you had a death wish. Or maybe it was just hot seeing Ransom so riled up. Either way, you weren't complaining.
Ransom growled, hands gripping your waist so tightly you were sure it would leave bruises. "Shut up."
Smirking, you lean towards him, lips hovering his. "Make me."
Before he could kiss you, you shoved him away, took another beer from the fridge and walked away without giving him a second look. Ransom stared after you, gripping the kitchen counter.
This wasn't over.

So I've been writing again...
And I have the start of a modern fantasy story in progress. In it, a human named Jack accidentally slips between worlds and ends up in a timeless fantasy world.
"And that's the last one," Jack grunted as he took the bushel basket out of the wagon and set it next to the cellar door.
Ellie smiled as she made a tally mark on her clipboard, then turned to regard the setting sun for a moment. "And before sundown," she nodded, satisfied. "Ya done good work this harvest, Jack. We 'ppreciate the help."
Jack paused to stretch. "No worries, Ellie. So, you want help getting the equipment in tonight too?"
Ellie turned to look back toward the orchard in thought for a few moments, bumping her Stetson back a bit with her thumb. "No," she finally decided. "Not tonight. We'll take a breather for a day or two, then bring in equipment and start fixing and putting it away for the winter. For now, hang it up, go get some rest. I'll take this basket down."
"Alright, sounds good. I'm gonna stop at the pump and get some water on my way home, alright?"
The blonde minotaur nodded as she hefted the full basket off the ground. "Yeah, no worries. Your cup should still be hanging there. I know that water's good 'n cool, but try not to drink too much. Still got a bit of a walk to town yet."
"No worries, boss. Have a good night!" Jack called and threw a wave over his shoulder as he turned and headed toward the faded red hand pump next to the barn. Sure enough, his tin cup still hung there, waiting for him. A few pumps to get the water flowing and Jack filled the cup for the first time. Swishing the water in his dry mouth, he spat it out and filled the cup again. He slowly drank, and sighed when he finished. This water was some of the coolest and freshest he'd ever tasted, here or back home, and he found it a little difficult to resist chugging the water til he was full and fit to burst.
He had another cup and was about to leave, when the family border collie, Dottie, trotted up and put on her biggest begging eyes. Jack chuckled and pumped a bit more water, which Dottie happily lapped up. "Alright, I gotta go now. I'll see ya later," he told the dog as he hung up his cup and made his way down the driveway and back toward town.
~~~~~~
Jack, though tired after his long day, still marveled at the little town as he walked past the welcome sign. This town, this whole land, had a bit of a timeless feel to it. He spotted a couple cars and trucks trundling along that resembled his world's Model T's and A's. He heard the passing whistle of the evening freight train, pulled by a steam engine. Down the side street was a diner, complete with a jukebox and roller skating carhops.
He considered stopping for a burger, but he was nearly back to the library, and the room he rented in its basement. Maybe next time, he thought as he continued. He made it nearly fifteen feet before he paused and changed direction, heading toward the diner. I think Cherry is working tonight. I’ll swing by and say hey, maybe grab a milkshake. I earned it, he thought to himself, smiling as he walked.
The human approached the diner, lit up with neon signs and promising greasy fast food. Just like home, Jack thought, just as he nearly collided with a pink-haired carhop skating by with a heavy tray full of food.
With a smooth swerve, a jaunty hop, and a quick spin, the crash was avoided and not a drop was spilled. “Hey Jack!” Cherry, the pink-haired carhop happily greeted as she skated in reverse, her free hand waving enthusiastically at the man who had nearly walked right into her. “Go right in, I’ll get your chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, cookie crumbles, and chocolate syrup!”
Jack was stunned for a moment. I was just thinking that! How did… No, it’s just Cherry being Cherry. You oughta know that by now. With a chuckle and a shake of his head, he went inside and chose an empty stool at the counter.
“Hey stranger, long time no see!” Maybelle greeted as she walked up to Jack, pulling her notepad out of her apron pocket. The cowtaur searched for a pencil in her pockets, before realizing it was stuck behind her bovine ear. “What can I get ya?”
A pink blur whizzed past, depositing a tall chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, cookie crumbles, and chocolate syrup on the counter in front of Jack. Maybelle sighed and stashed her notepad. “Cherry Sense strikes again.”
Jack chuckled and started working on his milkshake. Perfect, like always. That sixth sense of Cherry’s is something else, he mused. It had freaked him out when he’d first arrived here, but now he was coming to accept it. “Cherry Sense strikes again,” he agreed with a smile and a nod.
~~~~~~
Ohh, how does Cherry make those milkshakes so rich? Jack mentally groaned as he once again made his way down the street toward the library. He’d originally stopped for just one, but fast-talking Cherry managed to convince him to get another chocolate shake, plus taste-test a cake batter shake, in order to ‘prevent bias’, as she’d put it. The shake was delicious, as was everything else Cherry made, with one notable exception. Jack’s stomach lurched at the unhappy memory. Or maybe it’s the start of indigestion, he mused as he finally made it to his destination and let himself in.
The place was quiet as Jack closed the door behind him. Maybe Laura was out tonight? Or maybe she was already asleep. Who knows? Jack thought to himself with a shrug as he made his way to his room in the basement. He flopped down on his bed, attempting not to jostle his stomach too much, and reached over the side for the book he’d been reading. His hand brushed over it, and he slowly brought it up to his face.
Finding the page he’d dog-eared last time, he cracked the book open and began to read, “Chapter Eleven, The Sun Temple…”
