F1 masterlist | Main masterlist |
summary: Carlos hasn't publicly dated anyone in over 3 years and people get suspicious. He tries to tell his friends that he's dating the heiress of Italy but they don't believe him until a special moment.
Warnings: None, cursing?, fluffy
Pairing: Carlos x Italian!princess!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carlos showed the entire text chain to y/n and as she scrolled through the responses bursted into laughter at lando's response to Carlos.
"Love, I wasn't pissed. I was just annoyed that he was feeding into rumours. Poor Lando must've been scared out of his wits" y/n told Carlos.
Carlos chuckled "Lando deserves to be scared out of his wits from time to time darling. How else would he function effectively and not spill our secret in front of the entire world?" he told y/n
"I guess you're right" y/n laughed.
"Amore?" Carlos called out to y/n
"Si, Corázon?" Y/n replied adjusting in the bed to meet his eye.
"Do you ever want to go public? I mean I'm not forcing you to go public, just asking. We've been together for 3 years now" Carlos asked with a thoughtful and soft expression on his face.
"Of course Corázon, I would love to. Do you want to maybe go public on the day of the Monza GP? I've already gotten an invite and will be giving out the trophies" y/n replied with a soft smile.
"That would be absolutely wonderful amore" Carlos said softly and held her close.
Timeskip:
"Ready to go sis?" y/n's brother asked her as it was time to leave for the GP
She was only going to go for the race day otherwise it would seem suspicious to the public and they wanted to be extra careful.
"Yea yeah let's go" Y/n called out grabbing her brothers hand and getting into the car.
She was more than ready to reveal to the world her relationship with the love of her life
Meanwhile: (Carlos Pov)
"Mate is your girlfriend ever going to come or are you just pranking us all?" Charles asked me while everyone was waiting around in the paddock for y/n to come.
"Yea mate, no shame in saying you haven't been able to get girls for the past 3 years. At least don't live in the delusion that the direct heir to the Italian throne is your girlfriend."
Nobody believed me except Lando since he's met her but everyone thinks me and him are pranking them together.
I would get my sweet sweet revenge.
But deep down I was scared. I was planning to propose to her soon. If I got on the podium today, I would propose and I've never been more scared for a race in my life.
Her entire family would watch me race for their country and would also find out about our relationship because she was very private and didn't share even with her family. Would they approve of me? Would they force me and her to break up?
Just then her family walked into the paddock and everyone immediately stood up and greeted the family but she was not in sight.
"So Prince b/n how do you feel about your sister dating our friend over here?" Fernando asked her brother and dragged me into his view
"Dating? I wasn't aware that my sister was dating anyone. That too with a commoner? Not expected." Her brother replied and my heart slowly sank to my stomach.
The rest of the grid came up to me.
"See Carlos? How would you be dating Prince y/b/n's sister without him knowing? Stop living in your delusion" Max said
"Mate such delusion isn't good for you at all. You should start seeing the team therapist a little more" Charles added.
The rest of the grid exchanged glances of amusement and worry while Lando came over to me.
"Don't worry Carlos, I believe you. Don't listen to them. You and Y/n have a beautiful relationship and she told me that she didn't want to inform her brother of her relationship status since she, frankly, hates him" Lando told me and I felt slightly better.
but her brother didn't approve of me, why would the rest of her family? I was internally panicking when Y/n's father King f/n came up to me and took me aside
"So you're the lad dating my daughter huh?" He asked me
"Si señor, I love Y/n with all my heart" I responded slightly nervous about his response
"She made a good choice, how long have you both been together? She didn't give me many details" He asked
"We've been together for 3 years senor. We met when I was invited to the royal house for my medal" I replied feeling better that at least her father approved of us
"And no proposal?" He said with a smirk on his face
"I was planning on proposing to her if I get on the podium for the race today and also wanted your blessings señor" I answered
"Good good. I've seen that she's been much happier around the palace ever since she started dating you. She truly loves you and you have mine and her mother's blessing. May you both be forever happy together" with that he left as I the race was about to start.
I gave Ricciardo my ring box and gave him all the instructions before getting into the car.
After the race:
I couldn’t believe it.
I had won in Monza.
The crowd was going absolutely wild as I got out of my car and the mechanics lined up outside tapping my helmet congratulating me.
I felt like I was in a dream.
I looked over to the vip box and I saw y/n in all her glory.
The look of admiration she had and her soft smile made me fall for her all over again.
That was when I knew nothing else mattered.
It didn’t matter to me that her brother didn’t approve of our relationship. It didn’t matter to me that my friends didn’t believe my relationship.
I had her and that was all that mattered.
The podium ceremony came quickly and y/n’s brother gave out the p2 and p3 trophies.
Then came my turn and y/n walked into the podium with the most elegant red dress I’ve ever seen.
She looked absolutely ethereal and I couldn’t wait for her to be mine forever.
She handed me the trophy and I raised it over my head after which I leaned in to kiss her.
The crowd went absolutely wild when they saw the scene.
I took the ring box from Ricciardo and got on one knee and I saw tears welling up in her eyes.
“Y/n. You have made me the happiest person these past 3 years and it would mean the world to me if you were with me for the rest of my life. Y/n m/n l/n will you marry me?” I asked her pouring the emotions out.
“Yes Carlos! Of course I’ll marry you” she said and hugged me tight.
I slipped the ring on her finger and we kissed once again.
Timeskip:
“Hey Carlos, sorry about all the comments we passed. We really couldn’t believe that you were actually in a relationship with the princess of Italy. We apologise for our actions” Charles apologised to me on behalf of the rest of the grid
“It’s ok mate, I myself can’t believe that I bagged a literal princess” I laughed
Y/n came back to me and it was time for us to leave.
In the car y/n sat leaning her head against my shoulder
“Our wedding is going to be one of the most celebrated occasions in Italy you know? They’re going to keep it as a national holiday and it will be broadcasted live on tv for everyone to see. Are you sure you’re ok with that?” She asked me in a soft voice
“Of course amore , as long as in the end I get to be with you. I’m ready to do anything.”
A/n: hope you guys enjoyed this fic. Took me a while to come up with it. Would appreciate feedback and suggestions. Also please send me any requests you have! Kissies ✨

I Wanna Be Yours || Part 15
Tumblr media
Part 14 | part 16
↝a/n: I was supposed to post this earlier this morning but got distracted by Spencer Reid fanfics. I'm sure y'all understand 😞
↝pairing: Robin Buckley x fem!Wheeler!reader
↝ Warning: not proofread, possible spoilers, cannon events, angst, fear, Vecna, upside down and it's gross self, switch of pov at the beginning- it's Robin's pov for the last chapter, shorter than my other chapters, second to last chapter!!
↝⎙ 9.7.24
Tumblr media
-Robin and Steve's POV-
“Maybe she's just scared,” Steve started, keeping his voice down as to not alert Nance or you. He saw how you pulling away had affected her. The hurt was evident on her face, even more so as you walked away. He had never seen Robin hurt like that, like she was a kicked puppy. As soon as the door to the RV shut, Robin busied herself, grabbing bottles and tins of kerosene. “Given the situation, I'd say it's normal to feel that w-”
“Steve,”
“What?”
“I don't care.” She sighed.
Steve watched her. “And I don't understand why you do either with everything that is going on. She has other things to worry about.” Although she couldn't tell him about you being cursed, she had a hunch that he already knew. Who wouldn't? “Honestly, this feels like the perfect time for that pull of the rug because, in the face of the world ending, the stakes of my love life feel spectacularly low.”
Steve looked over at his best friend, sympathy lacing his furrowed eyebrows, “Exactly, today could be our last day, spend it with her. You deserve to be happy.”
Robin shook her head, opting not to reply.
It was a kiss- well, many kisses. She wouldn't lie and say that she didn't like it, but she would understand if you could. The timing was God-awful, she'd admit.
Maybe Robin should pull away, at least until this is all over.
Things don't always go as planned.
“Help!” Nancy yelled from inside the van.
Steve and Robin were instantly on their feet, scrambling to the door.
Once inside, Robin felt the world stop spinning.
-----regular POV-----
“Escapade” by Janet Jackson played through the headphones covering your ears. Robin sat beside you in the back of the RV, hand encasing yours. Dustin and Eddie were on the other side of her. Although you were squished against the window, you hadn't felt more content, which was crazy given the circumstances. Steve was currently driving you all to your possible deaths.
Robin's hand let go of your hand, moving to squeeze at your thigh. Looking away from the passing trees, you turned to her concerned eyes. She stared into your own for a moment, before leaning forward. Her lips met your cheek, unsaid words being left behind when she pulled away.
The van came to a stop. Max, Lucas, and Erica got out, walking toward the Creel house.
The RV was now parked in the woods beside the trailer park. Nancy paced the van, before stopping. “Okay, I wanna run through it one more time. Phase one-”
“We meet Erika at the playground. She'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready.” You answered first, fiddling with the headphones around your neck.
Nancy nodded, “Phase two?”
“Max baits Vecna.” Steve added. “He'll go after her, which will put him in his trance.”
“Phase three?”
Dustin answered, “Me and Eddie draw the bats away.” Eddie cupped Dustin's head, shaking it with a grin on his face.
“Four?” “We head into Vecna's hopefully newly bat-free lair and-” Robin held up the glass bottle with a cloth sticking out of the top. The flammable liquid sloshed around. “Flambé”
“Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?”
You all nodded, “Got it.”
You grabbed a few of the homemade spears, following Nancy out of the RV. You quickly made your way to Eddie's trailer, Steve flipped the light switch on, staring at the old sheet hanging from the ceiling.
“Be careful.” Dustin told Steve, watching as he took his bag off.
“Thanks, buddy.” Steve patted Dustin's arm, before grabbing the sheet. “Here goes nothing” He climbed through, flipping to land of his feet.
As soon as he stood, he looked up. Robin muttered sarcastically, “woah…what does he want us to do, applaud?” You smiled, amused, before watching Steve drag the old mattress over, plopping it on the ground.
“Alright, let's go.” Nancy shrugged her bag off. Robin dropped to one knee, offering an extra boost.
After Nancy fell on the mattress, Robin motioned for you. She helped you step on her connected hands, pushing you up. Supplies dropped next, followed by Eddie.
Robin flopped on the mattress. You were quick to help her up. Your hands stayed intertwined even after she was off the gross mattress. More supplies, then Dustin.
Walking into the familiar darkness, the flying particles didn't bother you as much as before.
“Hey, guys, listen.” Steve stopped walking, turning back to Eddie and Dustin. “If things here start to go south, I mean, at all, you abort. Okay? Draw the attention of the bats. Keep 'em busy for a minute or two. We'll take care of Vecna. Don't try to be cute or be a hero or something. Okay? You guys are just-”
“Decoys.” Dustin and Steve's voice overlapped. “Don't worry. You can be the hero, Steve.” Dustin sighed.
“Absolutely, I mean,” Eddie looked between himself and Dustin, “Look at us. We are not heroes.” He grinned at Steve.
Steve turned around, beginning to walk toward you guys.
“Hey, Wheeler.” You turned, seeing Eddie looking at you. You jogged over, not wanting to keep your group from the mission for long. He took you by surprise as he brought you into a hug. “Make him pay.” His words were mumbled into your hair. “For Chrissy.” He squeezed your arms, before pulling away. Smiling, he let you go.
Determination ran through your veins.
“When Vecna fails with Max, he's going to go after you. Keep this on.” Nancy stood in front of you, grabbing the headphones from your neck and placing them on you. She left one ear uncovered, so you could still hear what was happening around you. “Stay close.”
She turned back around, following Robin and Steve through the dead woods.
“Uh,” Robin's voice shook, as she shined her light on a tree. “I don't mean to freak anyone out, but I swear we've seen this tree before.”
“That's impossible.” Nancy walked closer.
“That would suck, right?” Robin threw her head back, exasperated. “If…if Vecna destroyed the world because…'cause we got lost in the woods?”
“We're not lost, Robin.”
She chuckled in response, unsure. She walked ahead, seemingly losing her mind in the process.
Nancy watched her run ahead, “Robin, hey. Watch out for the vines-Hive mind! Remember?”
“Thank you!” Robin jogged ahead.
“Ah, don't worry about her.” Steve threw his hands up. You quickened your pace, shining your light to watch your step.
“Robin, hey, slow down.” You fell in step with Robin, turning to watch her side profile. “Take a breath, okay?”
She inhaled through her nose, exhaling through her mouth. “The weight of the world is on our shoulders right now. I mean, the rest of the world doesn't even know what's about to happen. They're clueless. What…what if this doesn't work? What is Vecna outsmarts us?”
“Robin,”
“We don't actually know if this is going to work.”
“Robin.”
“We could all die, and then Vecna can do god only knows what else to Hawkins.”
“Robin!”
You pulled her shirt, causing her to stumble backwards, away from the vine she nearly stepped on. She blinked at the vine, before looking at you. “Thanks.”
You nodded, grabbing her hand. “Everything will be okay. We're doing all we can.”
Bats flew around the old house that once belonged to the Creel family. Vecna was the only one occupying it now. In front of it was the playground you were to meet Erica at. You all gazed at it from your stop on the hill, thinking over the plan, ignoring the anxiety in your stomach.
“Okay, the lovebirds have copied.” Erica spoke from the other side, the particles growing brighter on your side. “Max is moving into phase two: Distracting Vecna.”
“So far, so smooth.”
“Yeah,” Steve agreed with Robin, “We're not even at the hard part yet.”
Thunder mixed with the sounds of creatures lurking.
“Take the bail, you son of a bitch.” Nancy glared at the house, “Take the bait.”
“Okay, she's in. Initiate phase three.” Erica spoke again,
“She's in. Move on to phase three.” You echoed into the walkie.
“Copy that. Initiating phase three.” Dustin concluded. Eddie began playing “Master of Puppets” by Metallica, the music vibrating the very ground you stood on. The bats snarled loudly, flying toward the sound.
“Okay, it's working. Let's go.” You quickly made your way to the house, Vine/tentacles squelched wetly, making you frown in disgust.
“Oh shit,” They were everywhere, covering the floor, walls, even the ceiling. “That's not good.” Steve grumbled. He jumped over the slithering vines. Robin cursed when he waddled before regaining his footing.
Robin grabbed your hand, squeezing it, as she gnawed at her bottom lip.
“It's okay.” Nancy spoke.
"You got this,” You squeezed Robin's hand in reassurance, offering her a smile. She reluctantly let go, stepping forward to follow what Steve did.
You went next, followed by Nancy. You held your breath as you hopped up the stairs. Steve helped you on the final step. As soon as everyone stepped forward, finally being able to breathe, the ground shook, sending you all three steps back.
You quickly huddled together, holding each other tight.
Robin sighed before her head snapped down, watching a vine wrap around her leg. She looked up, panic in her eyes. Before she could say anything, she got yanked back, against the wall. You shrieked, moving toward her.
“Y/n! Steve!” You swung the hatchet down on the vine with force, Nancy and Steve doing the same.
Bringing the hatchet back, something wet wrapped your wrist, pulling you back. Yelping, you collided with the wall on the other side of Robin. Your weapon clattered to the ground. Steve was grabbed next, then Nancy. More tentacles wrapped around your limbs, slithering tightly around your neck.
You grunted, fighting for oxygen. Looking up, you watched as Robin's lips moved but nothing came out.
Your eyes moved up, meeting her eyes, before your vision became blurry.

Hii, I saw you were taking requests, so how about this: A Vox x Reader who were old friends in life, now reunited in hell, but not in a way he would expect. Reader was fighting for the Hotel against exterminators and got hurt.
Sort of an angsty/hurt-comfort kinda thing, with Vox stepping out of his cruelty and demon persona. Please, take care and thank you 💕😋
Oh my i absolutely love this😍😍and here have a rose for being my first request🌹You didn't specify genders so i wrote Y/N as they/them, also i apologize if the pov changes from 3rd pov to anything else.
Glad that we're in hell | Vox x reader
Tumblr media
Vox loved how much control he had in Hell. He didn't miss anything from the time when he was alive, or so he thought. He didn't want to break his persona in anyway, but he couldn't help but miss Y/N after Valentino had another tantrum over Angel Dust. He covered it by stalking and complaining about a certain radio demon who came back in town. Vox was so focused that he didn't even notice his good old friend next to Alastor.
---------------------------------------------
All of the three V's sat on the couch watching how an army of angels flew closer to the Hazbin Hotel. Vox was enthralled that Alastor would lose, but all his focus on Alastor vanished when he noticed someone familiar being attacked by an exorcist. "No fucking way.." Vox mumbled under his breath which got the attention of Velvette for max. 2 seconds. His panic didn't last long when the exorcist head was shot full of holes by Angel. Soon enough Adam broke the barrier and started to fight with Alastor himself. Vox was celebrating as Alastor got his ass beat by Adam, now he was complaining about alastor leaving. "Agghh Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!"
Alastor was down, Angel, Husk and Cherry were struggling, Charlie was choked by Adam and Vaggie was struggling with Lute. Y/N had no other choice but try and sneak up on Adam. Attacking the first man, but almost no damage was done expect a scar on his shoulder. Adam threw Y/N to a wall, which made Vox absolutely enraged. "Y/N!!" Oh shit, that confirms it, it's you. As lucifer arrived to the fight, Vox dissapeared from the couch through cameras to the battlefield, he ran to Y/N. "I..what are you doing here?" It seems like they didn't recognize him well for being a TV screen. "I'm here to save you, darling. I-it's me Vox you knew me when we were alive." Y/N eyes widened as she coughs his name before losing consiousness. "Aw shit, let's go back" Vox held Y/N close as he went back into his place. He did the best he could to bandage you up and give you every pain reliever he had after you woke up. "uhh..what happened. The hotel! Where am i? I need to help Charlie and the others!" Vox was at his own desk watching the cameras, until he heard you yelling about the hotel and your friends. He had no time to get up and run when he straight up teleported through electricity next to you. "Oh god, I was so worried about you! I didn't even know you were in hell. Why in the fuck are you even here?!" Vox didn't care if Val or Velvet would walk through those huge doors as he held you close and rambled about you and your well being to you. "Vox, is it Really you? I thought i had lost you completely." Those words cut his heart in half and made him glitch. You held him tight as you could without being in pain.
You couldn't help but let tears fall down your face, you missed him so much. "I thought i didn't miss you at all, but I was so wrong. How could I've been so selfish not to realize I loved you all this time" Was it true what he just said or were you still in shock from the battle. "Vox. Did you just confess?" Vox only glitched and even shed a few tears which made him ashamed. "Oh darling don't cry, I love you aswell" You caressed his screen styled face softly as you leaned your forehead onto the top of his screen. "Y-You do?" His eyes flickered and moved up and down, looking into your eyes then glancing at your lips. "Of course I do. I loved you since we were alive. You make me glad to be in hell" It took you long enough to kiss, but you did it anyway. Angels say Hell is only suffering and pain, but they didn't know that it's not only that. "You make hell seem like Heaven to me, Y/N"
--------------------------------------
AN: I hope you liked it. I wrote this quick as possible to not keep you waiting. It might short aswell, I'm not good at going to detail :,)

Theoretically Speaking
Ness accidentally stumbles into the life of Mike Schmidt, and in all honesty? He doesn't mind staying.
When a trip to the mall goes awry, Ness finds himself injured and in the arms of a security guard. With no friends or family to turn to during his recovery, Mike Schmidt enters the picture to lend a hand.
(Split/Alternating POVs)
SEE MASTER POST
CHAPTER 2
Mike had no problem helping Ness after he broke his leg, but now he's starting to get far more involved than he anticipated.
MIKE
Mike cursed under his breath. He knew he had enough money, and he knew it was there in his pocket, but he couldn't fight the illogical fear that one day, the little amount that he had to his name would disappear into thin air. Luckily, there was another quarter in his pocket. Mike rapped his knuckles against the box of the payphone while he waited.
"Hello?" as Max answered, Mike could hear the TV and the faint thumping of a hand searching the remote.
"Max?"
"Mike?"
Mike sucked in a breath. "I'm gonna be late again. Something came up."
"Oh, that's fine."
"I don't have the money to pay you for tonight but I'll get it to you as soon as I can-"
"- seriously, Mike. I don't mind," Max reassured in a voice that almost sounded demanding. In a sweet way.
"Thank you. It means a lot-"
"Don't worry about it.” She sounded eager, probably because she was wanting to get back to whatever she was watching.
"Thanks again."
The double doors swung open behind him. Mike hung up the phone as Ness emerged along with a nurse pushing his wheelchair. Mike heaved a relieved sigh when the nurse followed them out of the building and into the parking lot. He wasn't sure how many times he would be willing to pick up a grown man.                                                           ***
Mike's radio was half-busted. It usually worked well enough, except for the times it chose not to. This was one of those times. He was fine with the silence. Radio or not, he enjoyed driving. It was the only time during the day when he could fully unwind. But not this time. Not with a stranger in the backseat.
The back was the only place where Ness could fit comfortably with his cast. Besides maybe the trunk. Mike had considered taking on a gig as a taxi driver a few years back, and this was probably the closest he would get to the experience.
Everytime he took a glance in the rear view mirror, all he could think was the way the doctor had said "Mr. Sansfield." Why the fuck did he have to say it like that?
"Shit,” Ness said under his breath. “What am I gonna do about my car. . ." It was clear that he was just thinking out loud, but the silence of the car made it difficult to ignore.
"You could get it towed," Mike suggested.
"I don't know."
"I know a guy. He gets the job done, and cheap." Mike gave the dash an endearing slap, acknowledging the rather unkempt state of his car. "I would know."
Ness chuckled. "I'll look into it."
Their banter continued throughout the drive, occasionally interrupted by Ness cutting in to give directions. It didn't take long until Mike recognized the area. It was just a few miles down from his old apartment, where he and Abby lived before moving into the house. Sometimes he missed it. It was more cramped and the neighbors were loud, but at least it had fully-functioning appliances and a lack of water damage.
"This is the place?"
"14B," Ness confirmed.
Mike parked the car. His hands stayed on the wheel as he took a pause, internally repeating to himself Just get it over with. He got out of the car and opened the back passenger door. Ness's overly-friendly smile quickly confirmed that he was dreading this just as much. Mike extended an arm, which Ness then used to prop himself up. Mike wrapped Ness's arm around his shoulders to help him keep steady as Ness got a hold of the crutches.
Ness smiled to himself like he was proud for not falling on his face. "I think I got it."
Mike continued walking alongside Ness as he clumsily made his way to his apartment door.
"I really appreciate everything." Ness leaned his shoulder up against the door to support his weight while he searched his pockets for his keys. His expression was bright and genuine, yet he kept his eyes down, focused on his pockets. "Honestly, I don't even know what to say."
Mike nodded as he tucked his hands into his jacket. "Don't worry about it."
"If I can return the favor, let me know. Seriously, I owe you one-" as Ness finally withdrew his keys, they immediately slipped from his hands and plummeted down to the welcome mat. Ness closed his eyes and grimaced in spite of himself. His voice had a bit of raspiness to it this time, like he had completely given up on not sounding tired. "Do you mind?"
Mike was already reaching down before he finished the question. With a thin smile, he dropped the keys back into Ness’s open palm.
"Thanks. . . again," Ness said through a hoarse chuckle. He pushed the door open and hobbled inside. He managed, with minimal struggle, to flip some switches to turn on the lights.
Mike stared into the apartment from the doorway. "Are you here by yourself?"
"Yeah.”
Mike felt a pang in his chest. He had dealt with his fair share of medical emergencies, but never on his own. He was caught off guard in how Ness continued to carry himself in such a casual, almost care-free manner.
"What was the name of that towing company, again?"
Ness fetched a notepad and pen and slid them across the counter. Mike popped off the cap of the pen and jotted down the phone number. He paused after dropping the pen. His fingers twitched as he considered adding another number, but he refrained. He slid the notepad back to Ness.
Ness caught the notepad under his palm. "Thanks," he sighed through a tired smile.
Mike made his way back to the door as he forced his mouth into what he hoped would look like a more genuine smile. "Don't mention it."
Mike didn't say anything else before closing the door. There was nothing else that needed to be said. He did what he had intended to do. He got it over with.
He flinched when he felt a drop of rain on his cheek. The drop was followed by a downpour. Mike's walk turned into a jog. He thanked God for the rain. It was a good enough excuse to ignore his impulse to go back.
NESS
Once morning came, Ness quickly discovered that getting out of bed might be worse than everything else he would soon struggle to do on a daily basis.
He took his time to sit up and pull himself free from the blankets. Once he was upright, he sat and stared at the wall. He jolted when he heard the phone ringing. He didn't make it in time before the call went to voicemail.
"Hey, Ness. I was curious to know when you were going to give me a call back. We've been understaffed and we really can't afford your absence any-"
"Hey, Rich," Ness croaked into the receiver.
"Ness," Richard responded in a snarky, satisfied tone, "how are you doing?"
"My leg is broken."
"I understand. What do you suppose we do about that?"
"I don't know." Ness sat on the edge of his bed and stretched his good leg. "I guess I was going to ask you the same question." He braced himself before forcing himself to continue. "I won't be able to wait tables for a few months."
There was an uncomfortable pause.
"I see."
"Is there any way I could work the register or something for the time being?”
Richard still wasn’t saying anything.
“Please,” Ness said, gripping the phone tighter in his hand. “Could you help me out?"
There was another pause. It was a pause that made Ness dread the answer he was about to receive.
"We'll see what we can do."
In other words: no. Ness put down the phone and collapsed back down into bed. He wasn't ready to face the reality that was unemployment. Temporary or not, there was no way he could make it three months without a paycheck. One month was doable, maybe. . . not three months.
Sunlight shone through the blinds that were still drawn in his window. He didn't want to get up to open them. He almost preferred to stay cooped up in the dark, like a creature burrowed deep in a cave. At least animals got to hibernate without having to worry about bills, or food, or rent. . . Ness wasn't as fortunate. He was out of options.

MIKE
Mike wished he had remembered to turn off his alarm clock. It was rare for him to have a day off on the weekend, but he somehow always found a way to sabotage it.
He rolled onto his back and stared up at the ceiling. Evergreens and a blue-gray sky stared back at him. The Nebraska poster was beginning to sag now that the old scotch tape was peeling. It would inevitably fall down in the middle of the night and wake him in his sleep, and it was even more likely to happen at a time when he would finally make a break-through. . . He would finally catch up with the car, put the license plate to memory, or better yet, he would finally see the man's face- only to wake up, back at square one. Mike's blood boiled at the thought of it.
Mike didn't want to spend the morning thinking about it, knowing that every ounce of his spare time was already dedicated to the effort. He needed to take a break from it. Just for one day.
Today was for Abby. It was that time of year when things got a little tougher for the both of them. It was Mother's Day weekend. On any other occasion, Abby wasn't bothered by the memory of their parents. She hadn't been old enough to retain much memory of them at all. It was when May and June rolled around that it would almost get to her. Mike loathed the concept of national holidays dedicated to parenthood. Half of the miserable assholes on this planet didn't deserve the recognition. It was all just bullshit invented by greeting card companies.
It got better over the years. Mike and Abby found ways to turn the holidays into their own thing; their very own and much cooler bi-annual holiday.
Mike didn't bother waking Abby up. It was her day off too. Besides, there was a good enough chance that she was already awake and coloring in her hidey tent. It annoyed him sometimes that she could jump out of bed so easily- and without an alarm clock.
Mike stopped by the kitchen window. He stared intently at the clouds, daring them to try raining again. Despite Mike's attempt to clear the sky through sheer will, he watched as the first couple of raindrops tapped against the window.
He hadn't even turned on the stove by the time Abby appeared in the hallway. She was already dressed in her red overalls and a brand-new sweater that Mike bought the previous week, thanks to an early paycheck and the help of an employee discount.
"Morning." He greeted her with the wave of a plastic spatula.
Abby grinned. "Good morning." She stood still in the doorway with her arms folded behind her back. She was obviously trying to suppress some giggles but was doing a terrible job of it.
Mike watched her with a suspicious raise of an eyebrow while she settled into a seat at the table. He continued working on the pancakes and pretended not to notice Abby's obvious scheming.
"You excited for today?"
Abby nodded vigorously. Her smile grew wider when Mike finally presented a fork and a plate of chocolate chip pancakes. He turned back to the stove to get started on his own breakfast when Abby sat up in her chair.
"I've got something!"
"Hm?"
She placed a piece of paper face-down on the table. Mike looked down. "Wow. Paper," he said. Abby rolled her eyes. "Pick it up!"
Mike heaved an over-exaggerated sigh as he picked up the paper and turned it over. It was a folded piece of construction paper covered in crayon and marker, one of those card templates that teachers hand out for holidays. The printed word "mother" was scribbled over, now leaving the words Happy Brother's Day.
"I made it at school," Abby said. She got to work devouring her breakfast. Now that she had delivered the card, she didn't appear to care all that much about it. Her attention had moved on to pancakes.
Mike swallowed and loosened his grip as he realized how hard he was clutching the paper. He turned away. Abby already knew that he appreciated the gesture, so obviously it wasn't necessary for her to see him get all weird and emotional.
A burning smell reminded him that he was still in the middle of cooking. Mike quickly flipped the remaining pancakes, then leaned against the counter to look at the card a little longer. The fridge was already covered top to bottom, but he managed to find a spare magnet to place the card front and center.  For the first time in a while, he couldn't help but smile just a little.
***
"Seatbelt," Mike said before shifting the car into reverse. He kept his foot on the break until he heard the faint "click" of Abby's seatbelt.
"What's this?"
Mike glanced over his shoulder to see Abby holding none other than the Macy's bag. That was it. It was the thing he knew he had forgotten last night. He bit back a curse.
"Who's this for?" Abby picked up the box of perfume to get a closer look.
"No one- '' Mike snatched it from her hands, shoved it back in the bag, and dropped it in the passenger seat. He turned back to the wheel and backed the car out of the driveway. "I mean. . . don't know. It's not mine."
"It looks fancy." Abby kicked her feet back and forth. "Is it for a girl?"
"I don't know," he repeated, "I'm holding it for a friend."
"You have a friend?"
It was a genuine, innocent question, but Mike still felt a rise of melancholy in his chest. Kids knew the truth, the kind that adults either suppress or live blissfully unaware of. Abby seemed to be especially gifted in that regard, to put it lightly.
"No," he said.
"Oh." Abby tucked her hands under her legs and stared out the window. After a moment or two, she looked back at him with a growing smile. "Do you have a giiirlfriend?"
Mike set his jaw and focused on the road. It wasn't worth arguing about. He took a few breaths to try and dial back his rising anger. He couldn't explain his sudden sensitivity to their usual amount of back and forth sibling-teasing. Mike took a glance in the rearview mirror. Abby's smile had faded. He sighed and shook off the rest of his temper.
“So where to first?”
***
Abby was certain that Mike was trying to cover up a secret, forbidden relationship or something. She insisted on going to the door with him. Mike started to consider leaving her in the car, and he probably would have gone through with it if he hadn't recalled the time he accidentally locked the keys inside the car with Abby back when she was a toddler. He nearly broke into a cold sweat just thinking about it.
Mike grabbed the Macy's bag in one hand and Abby's hand in the other. "This is only gonna take a minute," he said to Abby, but mostly to himself.
They made their way to the building. Mike searched his memory for the apartment number. He could only hope that he remembered right. He knocked against door 14B and took a step back onto the 'welcome' mat. Abby busied herself by jumping up and down in a puddle.
Mike could hear footsteps from inside, followed by a long beat before the doorknob turned. Ness looked both confused and surprised until his eyes fell on the bag in Mike's hand.
"Oh my god," Ness laughed, "how does this keep happening?"
"Luck, I guess," Mike answered dryly. He offered the bag. Ness took it.
Abby looked up at Ness under the hood of her raincoat. "Are you Mike’s friend?"
Mike suppressed an annoyed grunt. He squeezed her hand as a way of saying "time to go." Abby wasn't getting the message.
Ness smiled as he glanced at Mike, then back at Abby. "Well uh. . .” he struggled to find a response “I'm Ness.”
"How do you know my brother?"
Mike shifted his jaw and averted his gaze, waiting for Abby to lose interest. He could never predict where she would place her enthusiasm in any given event. How could meeting a random guy be more appealing to a ten-year-old than overpriced candy and an extra large slushee?
"I hurt my leg pretty bad at the mall and Mike helped me out." Ness looked back up at Mike, his expression turned warm and genuine. Mike didn't know what else to do but shrug. "Thanks for getting this back to me, by the way," Ness nodded to the bag and chuckled, "as if I haven't thanked you enough already."
Mike didn't like the exchange of thanking or being the one to receive the "thanks". It was stupid to state the obvious. If someone does you a favor, it should be a given. Regardless, Mike said "you're welcome."
There was a long moment when the two of them just stood there and exchanged courteous smiles, with nothing left to say.
Mike was desperate for an escape route so he said the first thing he could think. "Is there anything else you need?" It was more of a rhetorical question, but regret began to settle in when Mike realized that Ness was actually considering it.
"Actually. . ." Ness heaved a sigh. "I need groceries. Desperately," he smiled apologetically, "is there any way that you could pick some up for me later this week? I'll pay you back, obviously."
There was no way he could say no. Not without feeling like a dick. "Sure.” Mike paused, hesitating. “Could I get your number?”
As to be expected, Abby had come prepared. She pulled out a sticker-covered notepad, a sparkly gel pen, and offered them with a smile. Mike forced his grimace into a smile as he took the pen and paper and jotted down his number. They passed the notepad back and forth until they both held a strip of paper.
"I'll see you," Mike said.
Ness smiled and nodded. "You too."The door closed. Mike sighed at the thought of having another thing to do on top of work and his usual errands. Abby on the other hand appeared to be pleased with herself in making a new friend.

How The World Works

Y/N POV
I wish I could say that waking up to the sounds of giggles wouldn't be the worst thing in the world unless you're at summer camp, or if you're like me, you wake up with the worst headache. I don't remember how much I drank, but I regret it.
I struggle to force my eyes open, but once I do, I find Liz sitting upright, looking at her phone next to me. Wait, why is she next to me? Didn't I fall asleep on the couch? Without moving my body, I move my eyes around the room. The room is a very minimalist style that I don't mind. It's cute. But I'm not too fond of the natural lighting that is seeping its way into this room. I turn to look at Liz.
How can someone look so good in the morning? All she is wearing is a big oversized t-shirt; from what I can see, the rest of her body is covered by the giant white comforter that blankets us. Wait. We're in bed together! Oh shit. Wait, what am I wearing? I look down at myself. A big oversized t-shirt and I can feel shorts on myself. I don't remember putting these on.
Her giggle breaks me out of my quiet panic state. I watch as her ringless fingers begin typing away on her phone before being hit with a sudden rush of last night.
Liz places her finger on my lips, silencing me before dragging me to bed.
"Hey, you're awake!" I look up at the forest eyes that are melting me. "Oh, shit, did I wake you?" Worry runs across those same eyes.
"No," I say in a raspy voice. I clear my throat and try again. "No."
"Okay, good. Can I show you something?" I nod. Liz dips down towards me and shows me a picture of me sleeping in her photos. "This picture is so funny. Look at how grumpy you look! I saved this as your contact photo. Sorry, not sorry." Liz laughs, and I can't help but laugh with her. I sit up, and I don't know what comes over me, but I can't stop myself from tucking her hair behind her ears—rubbing her face in the process. She looks over at me. Our eyes lock.
"So now you want to be cute and sweet, huh?" Liz's questions confuses me? I tilt my head. "Was I not last night?" Liz smiles; turning her back to me, she pulls down her shirt showing off her neck and shoulders. "Oh my gosh."  She shows me red marks along her collarbone and back.
"Oh fuck, Y/N!" Liz moans into her pillow as I bite down on her back, leaving another hickey. My left-hand grabs her hair tightly as my right runs over her stomach.
Liz pulls her shirt back up and faces me. "Don't worry. I loved it." She scooches closer to me and intertwines one of her hands with mine. "I wouldn't have let it happen if I didn't want it. Okay, Y/N?" I shake my head at her. "Okay." Liz lets go of me and gets up from the bed. Oh, look, she is wearing shorts! I can't tell whether I'm annoyed or relieved. I should be annoyed, right? "Time for breakfast!" I go to help Liz, but she intercepts me and softly pushes me onto the bed, stopping me. I laugh at how cute she is being. "Oh no, you don't! I'm making breakfast for you! Waffles or pancakes? There's only one correct choice Y/N!"
"Okay, Liz." She watches me with glee as I get myself comfortable in what I assume is her bed. I make a thinking face just for Liz even though I know the answer. "Waffles." I confidently state.
Liz gives a big ole smile. "Correct, you are! I was worried I would have to kick you to the curb!" Liz begins getting off the bed, heading towards the door.
"I don't know, Liz. We had a good time last night, so I don't think you're getting rid of me anytime soon."
Liz turns her head towards me as she opens the door. "You're right. I don't plan on it, Y/N." She winks and rushes out of the room, shutting the door behind her. I throw my head back onto the headboard behind me. A smile still drawn on my face. From the bedroom door, I hear the muffled beginning of Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac. I don't know how long Liz will be, so I take the time to check my social media and text Max, letting her know that I'm alive.
_
After a while scrolling through my different social media proves to be a task. Old high school friends are getting engaged. Vacation photos. Boring things. Who cares. Yuck. Twitter doesn't help one second; its Memes, then the next; it's an announcement about some new movie I know I'm not gonna watch. As last ditch effort, I check the news section. Top one of the day.
ELIZABETH OLSEN LEAVES NY RESTAURANT WITH MYSTERIOUS WOMAN DAYS AFTER LEAVING SET OF THE DOCTOR...
This chick just can't seem to get out of the news, huh? I hope she's doing well. I don't bother looking at the attached photos because that's not my business.
I hear the music outside the door stop. I go to sit up, but I'm in a silly, goofy mood, so I throw my phone back down and cuddle into the bed, pretending to be asleep. I hear the bedroom door open from my fake slumber, and Liz walk in. "Okay, Coffee Girl, I really ho-." She must've noticed. "Y/N?" I hear her set down the tray of food? "Y/N?" She asks in a much quieter voice. I listen to her walk toward me.
"Hey, Y/N?" She sits beside me, leans down, and rubs my cheek with her thumb. Fuck, it takes everything in me not to react. "I didn't realize how tired you still were. Well, whenever you wake up, I have some very yummy waffles and fresh fruit for you to eat up. Also, I don't know how you take your coffee yet, so I just grabbed you a cup of OJ. I hope that's okay." She stands back up and walks over to the other side of the room. I hear some shuffling, so maybe she's getting dressed?
My plan was to scare her but hearing her be sweet stopped me. Before this gets weirder or awkward, I pretend to shuffle awake again. "Liz?" I ask in the fakest sleepy voice I can manage. She instantly comes running out of her bathroom. She's wearing a white shirt with green overalls. How does she do it?! She looks stunning for such a casual fit. "Y/N! Nice to see you awake again, sleepy head!" She means it. Liz grabs the tray and brings it to me. "Sorry I took so long with breakfast. I wasn't exactly sure-" I cut her off. "Liz. I'll eat whatever you made me. You have an 'I know what I'm doing vibe' going on, so I trust you." I give her a supporting smile.
Liz places the tray in front of me before backing away, watching me as I look the food over. What the hell was she worried about? It looks so incredible. "Are these fresh blueberries?" Liz nods. "I picked them myself." My mouth drops. "You have a garden here?" Liz nods again. "When we're done, I can show you around the apartment since you didn't get a good look last night."
Liz and I break through her apartment door. Her legs hooked around my waist as I push Liz up against the nearest wall attacking her neck.
"I'd love that."
"But first, eat up, Coffee Girl!"
"Yes, Miss!" I pick up a forkful of waffle as Liz watches with incredible intensity. As the waffle is about to enter my mouth, I stop. "Is it too late to get pancakes?" "Y/N, I swear to God!" Liz groans. "Okay, I guess these waffles will do." I wink and take a bite. Okay. Wow! This seals the deal. Liz is the most excellent waffle maker in history! "Liz." I dramatically place the fork down. "This is the best waffle I've ever had."
"Are you joking? Please tell me if you are." Liz's puppy dog eyes almost breaks my heart. "Awww, come here." I pat the spot next to me. Liz obeys and pops a squat next to me. I pull her into me. "Liz... Last Name, I can assure you this is hands down the best waffle I've ever taken a single bite of." I can feel Liz roll her eyes and chuckle.
Liz POV
I chuckle to stall. Don't get me wrong, Y/N is funny, kind, and caring. But it's clear she doesn't remember me telling her my last name was, in fact, not Olsen.
I drop the second empty bottle of red onto the table, laughing at a story Y/N tells me about her one-day stint at a marketing company. "Okay, my turn!" Y/N claps her hands together and looks at me with such intensity. "So I know your name is Liz." I nod. "You're 32. You have two sisters and a brother?" "Three sisters and two brothers." I correct her. "Wow. I could barely handle it being my mom and I. Okay, you're so gorgeous because you're a model, right?" Y/N is right. I did tell her that's what I do. Technically I help my sisters from time to time, so that's not a lie. "Yes. I am."
"Fuck I'm having dinner with a model!" Y/N eyes go wide. I can tell it's her drunkness talking for her. "You weren't supposed to hear that, Liz." Y/N covers her face in embarrassment. I laugh, letting her know it's cute and alright. I watch as she tries to rack her brain to keep the convo going. "Is there a question you've been wanting to ask me?" Her very own question catches me off guard. I bit my lip in thought. "Y/N, is that your question?"
"Yes." Well, I know her name is Y/N Y/L/N. Her mom lives in Nashville, TN, for her job. Y/N's an only child. She has yet to mention her father. She went to Syracuse for a while before not going there anymore. That's all I know about that situation. She's single! She loves Mexican cuisine. She has zero pets. Oooooh, I know what I can ask.
"Y/N?"
"Yes, Miss?" Is that her leg brushing up against mine? "What's your favorite movie?" She goes to answer but stops. She sits back in her chair, almost looking defeated. After seconds of silence, "I don't know..." I know she doesn't know who I am but does she not watch movies? "Do- Do you not have a favorite, or do you not watch movies?"
"I don't watch movies. I watch shows like Parks and Rec and stuff." Oh wow. I mean, that's completely fine, but wow. "Not even those Marvel blockbuster ones?" She shakes her head no. "But Max does! She has been trying to get me to watch them for years now." That will be a fun bridge when we get to it. "Okay, what about something like... Gone with the Wind?" She looks confused. "That ancient movie?" Oh boy Y/N is lucky she's bringing me so much comfort and joy. "Yes, that ancient movie! I watch it every year." "Why?" "Why not?" I shoot back, smiling. Y/N loses this argument. "Okay, your turn Coffee Girl!"
"That nickname is sticking, isn't it?" I begin pouring glasses from our third bottle that Walter, at some point, dropped off. "Yes, it is Y/N. Yes, it is."
"Liz, what's your last name?"
So now I either tell her the truth or delay once again.
"Chase." I instantly feel a mix of guilt and regret my choice.
"What or who do you want me to chase?" Y/N responses, happy as a dog.
"No, Chase is my last name. Elizabeth Chase." I bring my eyes to meet hers, and I hope she doesn't look right through me. Y/N looks down at me and squints. "You told me this last night, didn't you?"
"Yes, I did, but that's okay." I don't know if it was a mix of my nerves or how I feel with Y/N, but the next thing I know, my lips are pushing onto hers. I pull back, watching a smile form on Y/N face. "If you wanted the waffle, you could just ask Liz." I lean myself into Y/N, kissing her again and again and again. I feel myself getting lost in this moment just as Y/N's hands find their way to the sides of my face, gently tearing herself away from me. Heavy breathing picks up the space between us. "Yes?"
A series of knocks answered before Y/N could. "I think someone's here for you." I turn my face away from Y/N, looking out into my apartment. Panic begins to rise inside of me. I feel myself slipping out of this dream life Y/N has been having with me. Did Robbie find out I'm in New York? I start fidgeting with my fingers, afraid to move. "Hey, Liz. You okay?" I look back at Y/N and her sweet face. "Yes. I'm sure it's a neighbor or someone. You stay here to finish your breakfast. I'll be right back." I kiss her forehead and leave the bedroom, closing the door behind me. I want Y/N to stay out of sight even though it's unfair, but I'm not ready for her to face whatever is behind this door.
Y/N POV
"I think someone's here for you." I watch as Liz looks out into her apartment. She won't say it, but the air in the room changed. "Hey, Liz. You okay?" I look up at her face giving her a sweet smile to let her know I'm here for her. "Yes. I'm sure it's a neighbor or someone. You stay here to finish your breakfast. I'll be right back." Liz kisses the top of my head and leaves.
For someone I just met yesterday, I feel like I've known her for years. How does she make me feel so special? Our date was perfect last night, or at least from what I remember. She is so beautiful, funny and intelligent. She went to NYU, of all places! Sure, maybe we moved quickly last night, but I needed it, and she wanted it. It can't hurt to pretend to think about a future. I find my mind becomes more full of ideas about Liz and I. Okay, Y/N, before you get too carried away, let's finish this breakfast.
Liz POV
I close the bedroom door behind me, praying it's not Robbie at the front door. Another series of knocks ring out. "Just a second." Okay, Liz, time to be a big girl. I don't bother checking the eye hole; I rush forward and open the door.
"So the rumors are real! You're really back in the city!"
"MK, what are you doing here?" How in the hell did she know I was back? Wait, rumors?
"Like I said. I had to see if the rumors were true. Also, wow, no 'Omg, MK, my favorite sister, how have you been? Sorry I've been so busy ignoring your calls and texts to let you know I'm alive?' Now scooch." MK pushes her way into my apartment, claiming a seat on the granite island, setting her purse and keys down next to her. I close the door, still in disbelief.
"You're right. I'm sorry, I've just had a lot going on. It's really good to see you." It really is. Since filming my show and movie back to back, I've missed my family so much. "So-."
"I see you made your special waffles this morning." I give her an astonished look. MK points to the mess behind her. "Oh right. Yes. I did." MK looks around the apartment, looking for something out of place. "So when did you and Robbie get back, and who's the girl?" MK is never one to shy away from the point. "Ho-Wh-" I stammer. "What girl?"
"Bitch, really? I've seen the pictures." Oh no. "What pictures?" MK tilts her head at me. She's reading my face, and she can tell I have zero idea what she is talking about. "Oh shit. You don't know? I assume your team or someone would've filled you in by now. How have you not seen them?" I'm starting to get worried. "MK. Pictures. Now." MK immediately pulls out her phone and shows me an article:
ELIZABETH OLSEN LEAVES NY RESTAURANT WITH MYSTERIOUS WOMAN DAYS AFTER LEAVING SET OF THE DOCTOR...
I grab the phone from her and scroll down. Yep there they are—the pictures. Y/N and I are holding hands and laughing while getting into a car. Thankfully she's wearing my sunglasses. So it will be more challenging for people to know who my Coffee Girl is. Did I say "my"?
"I texted it to you, but now I know you didn't see it. So once again, Lizzie, who is she? Wait, Liz, did you and Robbie finally get a third? Oh my God, is that who you made breakfast for? You're out here being Miss little housewife while they're in-"
"You need to go." I shove MK's phone and keys into her purse handing it to her as I slide her off the kitchen island. "Whoa, hey Lizzie, I was just kidding. This lifestyle is okay. I promise." Trust me, MK, it's not about that. I continue pushing her out of my apartment, not offering a word. "Hey. Liz, slow down and talk to me." I open the door and escort her out.
"Elizabeth!" MK stops me before I can close the door. "Tell me what's going on right now. Is it the pictures? Do you not want your fans to know about your lifestyle? Oh, no, is the girl's family like super conservative?" I look at MK. My eyes are filling up with worry, guilt, and regret. What do I even say? I'm a cheater. I left my fiance in a different country because I was scared to confront my fears, all while I felt him and I becoming distant, and now here I am myself going on dates and falling for another person. MK's voice softens. "Lizzie, is everything okay?"
"Just promise me that you don't know anything, and you won't say anything." MK nods. "Whatever is going on, you know I'm here for you." Now it's my turn to nod at her as a tear escapes down my cheek. MK pulls me into a hug. "Life can be super shitty and kind. That's how life is. Hell, that's how the world works. But you make due for yourself and the people you love, okay?"
The people I love...
I pull myself away from MK's squeeze. "Pleas-." MK cuts me off. "I promise, Lizzie. Just call me tonight." I promise to do so and close the door. Fuck now, what do I do. Does Robbie know? I haven't even checked my phone. Does my team know? Has Y/N been sent the pictures? Oh, God, is my breathing getting quicker? Why is it so hot? My arms won't stop shaking. Please make this stop. I feel myself fall onto my couch. I can't even see anymore with tears blocking my view. I hear Y/N's muffled voice followed by rushing footsteps. She crashes into me. She wraps herself around my back. I feel myself letting go in her arms. "I'm here, Liz. I'm here." She whispers into my ear.
_
After the tears stopped, I continued to let myself be held by Y/N. I'm not sure how much time had passed, but it felt like hours. Every time Y/N kisses touched my head, I felt a jolt of happiness work through my body before reminding myself what a piece of shit I am. It should be Robbie here, but no, wait, no, it shouldn't; he's the one that said he doesn't want to get married anymore. He's the one that wanted to take time for himself. I curse to myself inside of my head. I'm so confused, and I don't know what to do.
"Babe." Through my dried eyes, I look up to Y/N. "Yes?" Y/N bites her lip. She wants to say something. I pause and smile. "What is it, Coffee Girl?" Y/N holds me closer, placing her chin on my shoulder. "You told me last night that your coffee order was so big when you came into my shop because it was an apology to your crew for something that happened in London. Is that the same reason someone came here this morning and made you upset?"
I pull myself up from Y/N grasps and sit criss-cross facing her. I grab her hands and hold them in mine. "What I told you last night is true, but there is more to that story." I sigh. "I know I'm gonna have to return to London soon and deal with it." I squeeze Y/N's hands. "But no, the person that came over this morning was my sister MK. She didn't upset me. I just have a lot going on, and she was trying to help me understand. "I feel Y/N's hands go weak in mine. "Y/N-"
"Can I say something, Liz?" I stop and watch as Y/N's eyes find mine. "I just want you to know that I'm here for you. These last 24 hours have been a whirlwind, but I don't know what it is. I feel comfortable with you like I've spent years with you. You are giving me feelings of warmth and joy I have not felt in so long. I may be going way over the line, but a part of me thinks that you feel this way too. And now I can't stop myself from talking, but after seeing you bawling your eyes out, I just felt everything. It's just like I fee-" Y/N takes a breath. "I feel you."
I'm a second away from ugly crying Y/N has no clue how much weight those three little words carry. I pull her face into mine and plant a soft kiss on her lips. "Thank you, Y/N truly." I work my way up to hug her. I whisper into the crook of her neck. "I feel you, Y/N." I feel the same way that you do. But I'm sorry-." I have to work through this carefully. "I'm sorry I'm going through something right now."
"Liz-"
"Y/N, I just want today with you. Okay? Let us have a day together." I feel a tear fall onto me. "Okay." Y/N shakily lets out. I am unsure what happens after today, but I want to make today count.

Grayson Hawthorne sikfics pt 5
Xander's POV
I tried not to show how worried I was when Nash told me about Grayson passing out and having a very high fever. I was relieved to hear that it was just from over working and he should be fine in a few days.
I had slept in, so that's why I got the news late. Max, Avery's best friend, and I stayed up late facetiming. She was still at collage and I was stuck at home.
She told me all about how collage was and I told her how life at Hawthorne House was doing.
As soon as I had heard the news, I was on his way to my brother's bedroom. Jameson must have left because no one was there except Grayson's sleeping form.
I sighed in relief as I watched the silent figure. Gray was sill very hot, but seemed to be okay.
I settled down beside him in a chair. Taking the wash cloth that was soaking in a cold bason of water, I wiped the burning forehead.
Staring blankly ahead, I remembered all the times I would come into Grayson's room at night to sleep with him.
I was plagued with awful nightmares as a child and I hated being alone in a big dark room by myself. Sometimes I went to Nash, but he snores really loud, so I would never get any sleep.
Jameson moved to much in his sleep, and he also talked to much. I just wanted someone who would listen but also give me comfort and security.
Gray did both.
He would grumble when I would show up at 2 in the morning, but he never kicked me out. He would throw back the covers and I would jump in. I was usually asleep within twenty minutes, and I would stay asleep till the morning. After a while I would stop waking him up and just crawl into the king sized bed. My brother's deep breathing was sometimes soothing to listen to as I tried to fall back asleep.
It wasn't loud like Jameson or a snore like Nash. It was a quiet, deep breath that repeated itself.
I don't know how long I was sitting there for before a thrashing sound alerted me back to the present.
Gray was moving back and forth in agitation. Though moving around like crazy, he was still asleep
I checked his fever to find it had skyrocketed at an alarming pace. What had been a low grade fever of 101 was now 104.7
I tried not lose myself as I quickly called Nash. He answered right away
"What do you need little brother." His thick Texan accent flowed through the phone.
"You need to get up to Grayson's room! His fever is dangerously high and he's starting to go into a delarium."
Nash hung up the phone and was in the room with me in no time. He took one look at the situation and then sprang into action. "Go get Jameson and call the doctor again." He ordered. "I will stay here and try to do what I can."
I sprinted to go get my other brother, all the while praying Grayson would be alright.

I should be sleeping but I can't, so let's do this. You asked for my comments; it's only fair I deliver.
I decided to go in the order you posted the fics - focusing on the Max + Vin + Wen trio for now -, and the first one I'm going to comment on is the Vince's low blood sugar, 2-part masterpiece.
His reason for oversleeping? This man LOVES his girlfriend. He must have been exhausted but stayed up until Wendy herself was yawning 🥺
Then Soph came with the sharing clothes question. It was hilarious. I love her character. She is so mean sometimes and tries her best to act like she doesn't want to be associated with Vince, but if anyone was to hurt her family, I know she would come after them like there was no tomorrow. Poor girl was so worried when Vin fainted. She didn't want to leave him alone and even touched his cheek despite not being a touchy person. Baby 💔
I loved the build up until the collapse, but all those little details after the collapse had me melting. Like Max being soft with Soph to get her out of the room asap before he focused on Vince. And I live for Vince calling Soph and Liv bambi. That is so sweet. No wonder she melted. I love nicknames and petnames so much. I use a bunch with my own siblings all the time too.
Also Max pulling Vince's hair into a pony tail with his very own hair tie. Then telling Vin he didn't see him in the cafeteria. Max wanted to have lunch with Vince, didn't he?
Don't even get me started on the 'you remind me of my friend' 'a handsome one?' conversation between these two. Like okay, I know Vin and Wen are in a happy relationship already, but I'm rooting for Max. They might be happier as a trio, just sayin' 👀😂
I don't think I ever mentioned this, but I love Vin as a teacher. History is not my absolute favourite, but I kinda love it. I'm sure his classes would be cool to attend. I have seen Jojo Rabbit, will he accept my essay too? Joking aside, he is also great at it because he understands the kids' needs and actually listens when they ask for extended deadline or something.
Btw, I need to ask. Was Max knocking on the door and coming into the classroom because this time it was Vince who (accidentally) held the students back and made them late from Max' class? Because that would be so funny.
Oh Gosh, I've just realised how long this already is and I haven't even commented on the second part yet. I told you I won't be able to shut up.
Anyways, I love Max' humour and his absolute(ly adorable) cluelessness when it comes to caretaking. I'm not worried though, he is going to learn it pretty soon with the rest of the dumbasses coming into the picture.
But like, he brought Vin to the infirmary, drove him home, and tried his very best despite being distracted a little, so he is already on the right path.
Btw, I am sooo in for the idea of Mama Monacelli inviting Max to dinner and going all out not to make his sensitive tummy hurt, and just basically adopting him like she did with Leo. 🥰🥰
Alright, I'm shutting up now. Gonna come back in further asks to comment on the other fics later though. You are going to get so tired of me by the time I finish flooding your inbox 🙈
Have a nice day / evening Soup 💞
- 💜
I'm SO not sorry I deterred your night, I wanna be but I'm really not 😂
Vince is so in love with this girl, I sometimes think I don't make it clear enough because they're not as dramatic about it as Luke & Bell are.
Also yes, Sophia would tear anyone who hurt her family to shreds!! I love writing mean girls sooo much, its the best of fun.
Vince would absolutely let you hand in your essay on Jojo and maybe even add a sticker or some funny notes on the edge. In my head Vince is not meant to teach teens/adults though, not at all. He's made to teach the little ones!
Max WAS outside because Vince held up the teens! In my first draft of the story I actually switched POV halfway through, because I really wanted to have Max annoyed that Vin had held them up and going there to rescue them, only to see Vince collapsing and freaking out.
I solved that by keeping the "flashback" in part 2, but I guess it makes part 1 a bit confusing 😂 I also had a whole line that I forgot to add, that was Max staring at Vince and just being 🤨🤨 "why is your shirt so tight? Whore" since Vin/Luke do not wear the same size!
I imagine Mama Monacelli is going to be very very mindful of Max's sensitive tummy and then he'll get sick either way, because he winds up eating too much 😭
Oh btw, I downloaded the movie, gonna watch tonight! I'll let you know tomorrow what I thought, but I looked at letterbox and it was SO WILD compared to what you described lol

Lo'ak x reader. Based on "I see the light" from Tangled.
(Y/n pov)
I can't believe it! It's almost ready! I'll finally have an avatar in a few days. Ever since Spider introduced me to Lo'ak, Kiri, Neteyam, and Tuk a few years ago all I've ever wanted was to be able to explore Pandora with them. So I asked Norm and Max if I could have an avatar, because there's only so much you can do while having to wear an exopack. Norm said it would take a while but he was able to do it. Spider is getting one too. He hates having to wear the mask. I'm happy we'll be able to explore Pandora together. But I'm even more happy that I'll get to hang out with Lo'ak now. Not that I'm not excited to hang out with his siblings but I've had a crush on Lo'ak for a while now. I'm not sure if he likes me back but I'm allowed to dream. He said he'd be here when I get my avatar. Just a few days and I'll get to see his world the way he does.
(Time skip)
Today's the day. Me and Spider get to use our avatars for the first time. I'm about to get into the link pod when I realize something. "Where are Lo'ak and the others?" I ask Spider. "Don't worry, your boyfriend is on his way." He says laughing. "He's not my boyfriend and you know it." Spider always teases me about Lo'ak like he, himself doesn't have a crush. "Maybe not. But I see the way you look at him." He says smirking. "Shut up. I see the way you look at Kiri ' Monkey boy '." His smirk fades. "Come on. It's time to get into the link pods." He's right. I just hope Lo'ak and the others didn't forget. Norm comes in and tells us to lay down. Once we were in the lid closes and the machine starts. I see a colorful swirling vortex. Avatar me, here I come.
(Lo'ak pov)
Damnit! We're running late to see y/n get her avatar. Spider's getting one too but I'm really excited to show y/n around my home. But Tuk wanted to wait for mom to finish the top she made for y/n. Yeah, my mom made Na'Vi clothes for y/n and Spider. Of course she hates humans after what happened years ago, but she really seems to like y/n and Spider. And Tuk wanted to give y/n the clothes so we had to wait. We finally made it to the lab and grabbed our masks. "Hey Max. Where's y/n and Spider?" He looked over at us but before he could say anything Kiri interrupted. "Can't wait to see your girlfriend huh?" She always teases me about y/n. "You're no different. I see how you look at Spider." Max breaks us up. "Calm down you two. They're getting into their link pods. They'll be here soon." I turn to glare at Kiri. Soon I hear footsteps. "Hey guys. You made it." It's Spider, he's in his avatar. "Hey bro, you look great. How do you feel?" I know Spider and y/n have been looking forward to this for a long time. "I feel amazing dude. No more masks, I don't have to strain my neck to look at you guys anymore, and I can make tsaheylu now. Maybe some day I'll tame an Ikran." I'm really happy for Spider. I wonder where y/n is though. "I was beginning to think you guys weren't coming." I look up to see y/n in her avatar. She's absolutely stunning. I've always thought she looked beautiful even as a human, but seeing her in this form, looking like one of my people, I've fallen in love with her all over again but even harder. "Lo'ak, is something wrong?" I realize I haven't said anything since she walked in. I've just been staring while my jaw is basically on the floor. "No, nothing's wrong." She smiles shyly at me. Tuk runs up to y/n. "Y/n, my mom made clothes for you and Spider. Will you put them on?" Y/n kneels down to Tuk's height. "Of course Tuk, thank you. I'll have to thank Neytiri later too. I'll go put them on." She takes the clothes from Tuk then her and Spider go to change. A few minutes later they come back. She looks like a goddess. I'm certain that not even Eywa could possibly be more beautiful than y/n looks right now. "You both look great." Neteyam says. "When we get to the village we'll have your guy's hair braided if you like." Kiri tells them mainly looking at Spider. I can't blame her though. I can't take my eyes off y/n. "Come on! I wanna show you around!" Tuk jumps up, grabbing y/n's hand pulling her out of the lab. "Let's go. Bye Max. Bye Norm." I can't wait to show y/n my world.
(Time skip. Y/n pov)
Today has been amazing. I got my avatar, I got the Na'Vi outfit Neytiri made for me, I got my hair done by some of the village girls, I got to explore with the Sully kids, and now I'm alone with Lo'ak. He said he wanted to take me somewhere. It's almost eclipse so it'll be dark soon. But I trust Lo'ak. He'd never let me get hurt. "Lo'ak, shouldn't we be heading back? I don't think your dad wants us out too late." He grabs my hand and looks into my eyes. "Trust me Sevin, it'll be alright. My dad knows where we're going. And I'll keep you safe." What a skxawng. Then again that would make me a skxawng for falling in love with him. "I trust you Lo'ak." I say sincerely. The sun has just set. "Look around Sevin." I look all around me. I've never seen anything like this. So many of the plants and creatures have a bioluminescent glow. "It's beautiful Lo'ak. And you get to see this everyday. I wish I could be a part of this. I can't believe humans almost destroyed all of this." I may not have been part of the great war seeing as I wasn't born yet, but I always felt a tiny bit sad that I was part of the species who almost destroyed something so incredible. "It's not your fault you know. You're not like them. You may be human but your heart lies with the Na'Vi." Lo'ak says. He always knows what to say to make me feel better. "Come on we're almost there." He drags me by the hand. Pretty soon we're at the tree of voices. "This is where you wanted to bring me?" I'm honestly shocked he'd bring me somewhere so sacred to his people. He nods. "Connect your Kuru to the tree." I grab it. Slowly bringing it to the tree, it connects. I hear the voices of those who have joined Eywa. All of a sudden everything seems different. Like I'm seeing things in a new light. It reminds me of a song I heard once while watching a movie with Lo'ak in the lab. I can't help but sing it softly right now. "All those days watching from the windows. All those years outside looking in. All that time never even knowing just how blind I've been." I disconnect my Kuru from the tree and look up at the stars. "Now I'm here blinking in the starlight. Now I'm here suddenly I see. Standing here, it's all so clear. I'm where I'm meant to be. And at last I see the light. And it's like the fog has lifted. And at last I see the light. And it's like the sky is new. And it's warm and real and bright. And the world has somehow shifted." I look over at Lo'ak. I know I should tell him how I feel. "All at once everything is different, now that I see you." He might not feel the same way but he deserves to know.
(Lo'ak pov)
I remember this song. She looked right at me for that last part though. Is that a sign? Even if it's not I should tell her how I feel. "All those days chasing down a daydream. All those years living in a blur. All that time never truly seeing things the way they were." I look into her eyes. "Now she's here shining in the starlight. Now she's here, suddenly I know. If she's here it's crystal clear. I'm where I'm meant to go." She leans in and sings with me. "And at last I see the light. And it's like the fog has lifted. And at last I see the light. And it's like the sky is new. And it's warm and real and bright. And the world has somehow shifted." Our foreheads are leaning against each other. I can feel her breath on my lips. "All at once everything is different now that I see you." She closes her eyes. "Now that I see you." I can't help myself. I cup her face in my hands and capture her lips with my own. I feel her hands on my neck as she kisses me back. I can't get enough of her, I've waited too long for this. She pulls away for a moment. I go to chase her lips again and she stops me. "I have to breathe skxawng." She says giggling. I swear I've never heard anything so beautiful. With a gentle whisper I breathe her name. "Y/n." I take a deep breath, preparing myself for the confession that has been building within me for so long. "I love you. I've loved you since the first day we met. And I will love you even after I've died." The world around me seemed to stop as I waited for her response, my heart pounding in my chest. Her face breaks into a radiant smile. "Lo'ak, I love you too. I've loved you since Spider introduced us in the lab years ago." I couldn't be happier right now. "Y/n will you allow me to court you? Will you be mine?"
(Y/n pov)
He actually wants to be with me? I'm so happy. "Yes Lo'ak. I'd love to be courted by you. I want to make the switch permanently so we can be together." He smiles. "I'll talk to my dad about you making the switch. I'm sure he'll allow it. Him and mom really like you." Hearing him say that makes me happy and gives me hope. I lean in and whisper to him. "I see you, Lo'ak." He looks at me. "I see you, y/n." He whispers back. And then he kisses me.

Note
I'm kinda late today, but I still needed to put some thoughts on the last chapter in. :D
Is it just me or did y/n kinda revert back to her old ways when texting Elliot? She seemed to be rather closed off again. No emojis. Kinda short answers. Wonder where that came from lol.
I'm really looking forward to those next days and how this whole thing with Elliot going to COTA will go down. We still don't know whether she'll fly AirMax or commercial with her +1, do we? It's definitely gonna be interesting.
Why is noone talking about the dress she found? Was that actually a wedding dress store? She be cooking lol.
The messages between Max and Clara were sooo good! And it felt like there was more to unpack than meets the eye. Like there's always so much happening inbetween the lines. Again - maybe it's just me, but Max seems somewhat vary these days whenever someone texts him and starts off a little vague. His "is everything ok?" makes it seem like he's waiting for sth not to be ok soon. When it comes to y/n that is...
I loved that even though the pic Clara sent him probably made him feel things he'd rather not think about, his first reaction still was to ask what's going on and who took the pictures. Of course it's up for interpretation why that was. But I wouldn't write that one down to just jealousy. He was probably more puzzled, kinda shocked and maybe slightly worried for what's going on with her? I'd love to believe that was the case. Anyway the thought that he shouldn't be seeing this came only second.
"Who do you think they're for you ignoramus?" How much more clear can she be? Like didn't he get that at all? I'd love to get an insight in his brain because WHY would y/n do this for him? Like why would she want him to see her in underwear? What is his thought process here? Or does he honestly block out any of those thoughts completely? He's a rare species, let me tell you this lol.
Then what does Max mean by saying he's not the person to talk to about "this". About what? About y/n not being happy with Elliot? I mean I get that, like from his pov. But it was still an odd answer to give to Clara mentioning that.
And then there's still this thing he needed Clara for. You answered to an ask that Clara's "I know what you did Maxie" was her referring to that. But I'm still trying to figure out what it is. The post you first mentioned it was the same post in which Max asked Lando for the contact of his watch guy in Monaco. Please, help me out here with the cooking... are those two things connected? Because I believe that Max told both Clara and Lando that he doesn't want y/n to feel bad about it, that's why he doesn't want to tell her. With y/n's birthday coming up it could well be Max organising a gift, but if it was a surprise, then Clara and Lando (no matter whether the things are connected or not) would understand why Max keeps a secret. So there needs to be sth else... And the way Clara put that "I know what you did Maxie" in the messages it didn't appear to me as if it was anything bad for y/n or rather sth she'd feel bad about. To me Clara's words sounded more like she knew about sth sweet he's done for y/n, sth that again made her see what everyone else is seeing. But what do I know lol. This is really frustrating!!
On a final note... Y/n texting Max that she doesn't care about the others, she cares about him. The feeeeels. I read the ask about her putting him first - always. And those words are a perfect example of that. I don't think that's a problem at all. Because I really think there's nothing more beautiful then finding someone who'll always put you first and that going both ways.
The story on Clara's insta was a perfect ending to this post. I loved it. And she definitely did that on purpose. Good for her lol. She's just won herself like loooads of brownie points!
She was just icked out with him mentioning her birthday lol for sure she’s wondering how he found out.
She did indeed fly Air Max. But she has work stuff in the US to do so needed to go early and Elliot has work.
She didn’t buy a wedding dress lol.
What do you think her and Clara were cooking? Expand please.
Lol Max definitely was like “when she told me what she was doing today it wasn’t this so how did she get there?”. He was just confused. I don’t think he interpreted Clara’s message as Y/N took them for him, he interpreted it as Clara had set the whole thing up to get a photo to send to him. Clara is known to be a bit of a puppet master lol. Max was immediately aware that Y/N didn’t know he’d seen the picture.
I can’t say what he meant but he meant more than one thing but also only one thing.
Okay so, Clara was referencing the thing Max asked her for help with before Qatar. I won’t say what the nature of it was but it’s definitely something Max doesn’t want Y/N to know about (currently) and Clara was taunting him that if he didn’t play ball, she could always bait it out to Y/N. It was a low level threat from her and Max knew it. Which is why he asked her what she wanted, because they both know she’s got him by the balls.
Clara is…a force to be reckoned with thats for sure

My Boys (Chapter 59)
Tumblr media
Series List
Y/n's pov
As soon as we get to Ms Kelly's house, Max jumps out of the car and walks over. Steve and Dustin watch her as I lay down in the back seat. "Okay. She's in," Steve says. I nod but don't look at them. I close my eyes and try to get some sleep. Hopefully to get rid of this headache. "Y/n?" Dustin whispers, but I don't say anything back. I hear some shuffling in the seat before Dustin says, "I'm missing a collarbone, not eyes." I stiffen and listen closely to the conversation. Where is Dustin taking this conversation? Steve doesn't say anything, so Dustin asks, "So, we gonna talk about... it?" "Huh? Sorry, talk about what?" Steve asks. Shit, has Dustin noticed the way Steve's been with me lately? "Your temporary insanity earlier today when you basically threw yourself at Nance?" Dustin tells him. Great, it wasn't just in my head. Dustin noticed it too. "Okay, first of all, that's not what happened." Steve starts but Dustin buts in to say, "Pretty sure that's what happened. It was pretty public. There were a lot of witnesses, including Y/n..." "Are you implying I still have a thing for Nance?" Steve defensively asks. "No. I'm not implying. I'm stating. And, as it relates to your steadfast refusal to date Y/n or Robin, it's pretty much the only logical explanation," Dustin says, a little angry when he says my name. I wonder what that is about.
"That's not the only one," I hear Steve whisper with movement in the front seat after. "And as for Nance, I was just trying to protect a friend. A friend, Henderson. Okay?" Steve snaps at Dustin. "Okay." "Don't wanna find her in the morning with her eyes sucked out the front of her skull by this Vecna creep," Steve defends. "You're bright red in the face right now," Dustin mocks. Dammit, I wish I could see Steve's face right now. "No, I'm not. I don't wanna talk about it with Y/n in the car or ever. I'll punch you so hard your teeth will fall back out," Steve says. I stiffen a little at his last comment, ready to get in the middle of them. "Whoa. Too far," Dustin tells him. They are quiet for a second till they both say not cool and Steve apologizes to Dustin. I really do love these two. Just wish there was a way to figure out if Steve still loved me. They both go quiet and I pick that as the moment to wake up.
"Hey," I whisper, leaning between them both. Steve looks worried at me while Dustin beams. "Hey sleepyhead, you doing alright?" I smile at him and ruffle his hair. "All good over here," I whisper and lean back in my seat, looking at the window to Ms Kelly's house. I still hated this house. After everything that went down with my dad, I was forced by Hopper to come down here and make sure I was ok. Ms Kelly would try and get me to talk for hours and it only ended with me crying and having panic attacks. That did help me feel better though and I wasn't as scared to face men anymore. Just wish the Upside Down didn't bring a whole new mental problem.
"Here she comes. Here she comes," Steve excitedly whisper/yells to Dustin and I. I move over in the back, making sure Max can get in. She jumps into the back and Dustin asks, "What's she say?" "Nothing, just drive," Max tells Steve, slamming the car door closed. "Nothing?" We all ask her. "Steve, drive," Max forcefully says. "Okay," Steve whispers and starts the car, speeding off. Where do we go?" I ask for Steve. "The high school, I have her office key. We can look at Chrissy's file and maybe it will help us," Max explains. Steve nods in the front and puts his foot on the gas pedal more so we get there faster.
"Dustin. It's Lucas. Do you copy? Dustin." Lucas rings through the walkie talky. "Lucas? Where the hell have you been?" Dustin says in the walkie. Thank god he's ok. "Just listen. Are you guys looking for Eddie?" Lucas asks. What the hell is this all about? "Yeah, we found him, no thanks to you," Dustin replies. "You found him?" Lucas asks, seeming to be relieved. I lean forward in my seat as Dustin says, "He's at a boathouse on Coal Mill Road. Don't worry. He's safe." "You guys know he killed Chrissy, right?" Lucas accuses. "That's bullshit. Eddie tried to save Chrissy," Dustin yells. "Then why do all the cops say he did it?" Lucas asks. Max reaches forward and takes the walkie from Dustin. "Lucas, you're so behind it's ridiculous, okay? Just meet us at the school. We'll explain later," Max snaps. "I... I can't. I think some real bad shit's about to go down," Lucas tells us. "What are you talking about? What bad shit?" I ask, interrupting Max. Instead of a reply, static comes through. "Lucas? Lucas?" Max asks into the walkie. "What the hell happened?" I ask, starting to feel worried for the boy on the other end. "I have no clue but we need to get to the school right now," Steve says, speeding quicker to the school.
At the school
We speed down the empty school halls, trying to get to Ms Kelly's office without being seen. Even though there shouldn't be anyone at school anyway. "Dustin, do you copy?" Robin asks through the walkie. Dustin fumbles a little to pick it up but says, "Yeah, I copy. "So, Nancy's a genius. Vecna's first victims date back all the way to 1959. Her shot in the dark was a bull's eye," Robin tells us. Great, now both of my best friends love her. "Okay, that's totally bonkers, but I can't really talk right now," Dustin tells them, all of us walking faster down the school halls. "Wait, what are you doing?" Robin asks him. I take the walkie from him and say, "Breaking and entering the school to retrieve some confidential and extremely personal files." "Can you repeat that?" She asks me. "Just come to the school right now Robs. We'll explain when you get here," I tell her before turning the walkie off.
Max runs in front of us and puts the key into the lock, looking around to make sure no one sees us and opening the door. We all slowly walk in and look around to try and see where the files are. Max and I see them and walk over. "It's like a mini-Watergate or something," Dustin whispers. I block him out and look over Max's shoulder to look at the files. Her fingers fly over them until she gets Chrissy's. "Holy shit," She whispers, looking at the ones closest to her and harder for me to see. "What is it?" I ask her. "You found it?" Steve asks, walking closer." "I did find it, but not just Chrissy's file. Fred was seeing Ms Kelly too," Max tells us. Oh shit, no, this can't be right. My breathing gets heavier as Max pulls out Fred's file. She grabs Chrissy's file and puts it on the desk, giving the other to Steve to read.
Steve sits on the desk and Dustin and I lean over one of Max's shoulders each, Max sitting at the desk chair. She flips through Chrissy's files and skims over everything, Dustin and I doing the same. Max seems to notice something and asks Steve, "Can I see Fred's file?" "Yeah," Steve says and gives it to her. She reads over the notes Ms Kelly wrote and I notice it too. They were both having the same symptoms. Headaches, nosebleeds, constant nightmares and trauma. "Max? What is it?" Dustin asks her, also realising she knows. Wait, I'm having those symptoms. Am I under Vecna's curse? But if Max noticed it... "Max?" I ask, scared to hell that she's gonna be next. Dustin also starts to freak out, calling out for Max. "Max!" I yell and round the table, looking into her eyes. "She's just blankly staring," I whisper, hope blooming a little. "Eddie said Chrissy's eye's rolled back, so she's ok right?" Dustin asks, also concerned about what's happening. The doors burst open and Robin and Nancy come in. "What's going on?" Nancy yells, looking at all of us panicked. Before we can say anything, Max seems to wake up.
"Max," I breathe out and get in her line of sight. She looks at me confused and looks around the room. "How am I back here?" she whispers, Robin and Nancy slowly moving closer. "What happened Max?" I softly ask, reaching for her hands. She looks up a little scared and says, "Something was calling my name. I was following it and there was an old grandfather clock around a corner." I nod and motion to the door. "Show us where it was," I ask, slowly standing up straight. She nods and moves as quickly as she can out the door. Everyone in the room springs into action and we all follow Max down the hall.
We round the corner and stop at a dead end, Max looking at it confused. "It was here. Right here," she says brokenly. "A grandfather clock?" Nancy asks her, Max nodding. "It was so real. And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just... I woke up," Max whispers to us. "It was like she was in a trance or something. Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy," Dustin explains to Robin and Nancy. Max turns to us all and says, "That's not even the bad part." The rest of us look confused and Max walks back to Ms Kelly's office. She moves to the desk again and moves the note sheets for Chrissy and Fred in front of her.
"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms Kelly for help," Max starts to explain to us all while we spread around the desk looking at her. "Uh, they both were having headaches, bad headaches that wouldn't go away. And then... then the nightmares. Trouble sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things," Max explains to us. Robin turns a little in her seat to look at me but I shake my head, not wanting to worry her about this. Steve notices her and gives us a confused look but I shake my head at him as well. We have to focus on Max, not me. She is worse than me right now, if we focus on both of us something will slip. "Bad things. From their pasts. These visions, they just... they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually... everything ended," Max continues. "Vecna's curse," Robin says, spinning back around to look at Max. "Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred's, six days ago. I've been having them for five days. I don't know how long I have. All I know is that, for Fred and Chrissy, they both die less than 24 hours after their first vision. And I just saw that goddam clock, so... looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow," Max says, all of us going quiet.
A loud noise sounds behind us and we all turn around to see what it was. "Stay here," Steve says and starts walking to the door. I shake my head and follow right after him. He picks up the lamp sitting next to the door and walks out. I turn my flashlight off and hold it up, ready to hit something with it. "Do you not listen?" Steve hisses when he realises I'm behind me. I smile at him and shake my head, "Not if you go into danger alone." He smiles softly at me but rolls his eyes, moving down the hall again. As we walk I notice everyone else coming out the door behind us. Ha, no one listens to Steve. Another loud sound happens and I look around again, hoping to find the source. Loud footsteps start sounding in the hallway leading to us so Steve and I hold up our makeshift weapons. As someone comes around the corner, Steve starts to yell and moves closer to the person. They start yelling as well and step away from Steve. "Hey! It's me!" Lucas yells in a broken voice. "Lucas?" Nancy asks. "It's me," Lucas yells a little quieter. "Jesus, what's wrong with you Sinclair," Steve asks. "I'm sorry," He says. "I could've taken you out with this lamp!" Steve yells at him. "Sorry guys. Sorry," Lucas apologizes. Steve drops the lamp behind him as Lucas explains breathlessly, "I was... I was biking for eight miles. Give me a second. Shit." Lucas bends over near the wall and tries to catch his breath. "We've got a code red," Lucas tells us. "What?" Steve asks in disbelief.
Lucas moves past Steve and I and walks over to Dustin. "Dustin," He says while walking over. "I've been with Jason, Patrick and Andy, and they've gone like totally off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie, and they think you know where he is. You're in terrible danger," Lucas explains. I stiffen and move over to the boys. "All right. Yeah, that definitely sucks, but we've got bigger problems than Jason now," Dustin says. He looks back at Max but she looks away from our eyes. "We need to go, now!" I say, pushing the boys to the car. "What?" Lucas and Dustin say. Everyone else follows behind but doesn't say a word. "We are getting out of this school. We are going to lay low. And we are going to work out how the hell we are stopping this thing," I tell them, looking ahead to the door. Robin comes up behind me and grabs my elbow. "Y/n," She whispers, drawing my attention to her. I look over and see her nervousness. "I'll explain later," I whisper to her, knowing exactly what she wants to talk about. "Where are we going?" Steve asks as we get to the cars. I turn back to the group and look around, wondering where would be the safest place to go right now. "You guys could hide out in my basement. We hid El there for a long time, you should be no problem," Nancy tells us. We nod and get into the car, speeding off to the Wheelers as fast as we can.

i tried, hope someone like this
Okay, so this is over 1000 and i hope someone like this. Reminder im not English native so please be patience. I did this because i thought out there wasn't enough of them. Please if you have advise to how improve tell me i would love to improve.
By the way this is a Noccoro
Characters: Spider 14, Neteyam 13 and a half, Kiri 13 and Lo’ak 12
Spider pov:
Me,Kiri, Lo’ak and Neteyam were in the forest. Not to far, not to close. We sneaked out that Morning to go in the forest. Well i did it, then Kiri followed Lo’ak sneaked in and Neteyam who was worried for his little siblings tagged along.
“we should go back” Neteyam said, we weren't to far from the clan or hell gates but still he was worried that his parents would getted mad. Lo'ak clicked his tongue in annoyance at his words, lately he and Neteyam fighed a lot and had very little temper with eachother. “Nete we aren't to far from home” i said trying to reassure him, but he didn't even looked at me ignoring mine words, “if mom and dad find out” he continued “Spider is right, Neteyam we aren't to far away” Kiri said trying to reassure him too. “i don't care of what he said” he responded to her, those words cutted deeply into me. “what do you mean by that” she snapped “the nìyo’ olo’eyktan son can't care less about the others don't you know by now?”Lo’ak said with the same temper. They started to quarrel and i sitted down knowing this would have taked a lot.
I was still thinking about his words, he ignored me all week which was strange he never did that,we meet first, we become friends first, hell he was the one i thinked about when Norm telled me about love. He tolded me that love was diffrent from the love i had to him or Max and the other scientist.  “Love is an intense and deep feeling that involves people's hearts and souls. It's an emotional bond that goes beyond physical attraction and is based on emotional connection, mutual understanding and the desire to care for each other.” he explained. I couldn't say i had that so strong feelings for Neteyam, but whenever i thinked about him butterflys whould go all around my stomach, and everytime he brained out his hair in front of me i thiked about how nice it would have been to swipe your fingers in them. They way his eyes looked in the sun, getting brighed and to a color that looked like pure honey.
Meanwhile i was thinking about it and they were fighting i hear something. “stop now” i say lound enough for them to stop, they all  looked at me asking if i was stupid or something, with my hands i communicate that i heard something. The sound was repeted and they're face now dropped looked at me thinking i knew what to do. When the sound came again i decided what to do “run” a soon as i said it Neteyam taked my hand and all four of us started to run. Mr sully always saided to us that if we were in the forrest out and heard something we found suspect to not wait to know what it was but to run to the nearest adult and then get help. But the most important thing he said was “if you are with someone else never separate” this was the part that Lo’ak and Kiri didn't understand because when i felled down and Neteyam helped me getting up they were vanish lefting us alone in the forest.
“kllpa key” Neteyam kept saying about Lo’ak “koak kxetse” he kept saying about Kiri “kurkungs” he said about both of them. “Nete maybe you should calm down im sure they will come back soon” i tried to calm him down, “soon?SOON? IT IS ALMOST EVENING MEAL” he was so angry his tail  and ears were all up. “ why are you acting like you the only one who should get upset? I can litteraly ran out of air” i was angry too but atleast i wasn't being an asshole “good” he hissed “what wrong with you? Why you saying this things?! What did i do to you?” my voiced cracked making his ears fell down but his tail was still all up, i was tired of this bullshit and started to go away from him.
He hissed and throwned me on the grass then he putted himself on top of me,he picked his knife and putted it just centimeters above my chest “my mom said you are a demon,” he started to yell at me “your kind killed my clan, aunt and grandfather and...” he stopped for a moment for maybe thinking if saying the words he wanted to say, which he did “your father the head demon, brought only destruction and pain. I need to hate you!” he finally stoped and tears felling down his cheeks were now on my mask.
I hugged him, maybe not the smartes idea since the knife could have cutted me open, but as soon my arms reached his back he throwned it away, hugging me too. “you know what?” i said after a while “what” he responded, we were still hugging “when you were on top of me with the knife just above my chest and the light was hitting you from behind i though that if i had to die at least i had die with a beautiful person immagine in my brain” maybe it was strange to say or to understand or both! But he did, he understood and he laughed so hard that he felled on my side. His laugh picked me too and we started to laugh for minutes.
When we stopped we were looking at each other, eyes on eyes. I knew what time it was and i knew what i needed to do, i mean the Great Mother  could maked it more clear. I  removed my mask and kissed him on the lips, after some seconds of maybe surprise he putted his hands behind my head pushing me for a longer kiss, which i unfortunately couldn't provide for the stupid fact that i needed a stupid mask to breath, but let me be clear if i had to die for not enough breath i wish is when I'm kissing him. He pulled away frist after hearing my effort to not die from apnea, which i repeat i would not regret, he easily putted my masck back in.
“it was amazing” he said “it was tìme’em”  i continue “it was tìyo’” we both say at the same time and fall in another laugh. We talked for what it seems hours but it must have been minutes before Mr. Sully finded us, clueless of what happend and ready to ground both of us for staying in the forest even if we knew the way home. Honestly we didn't care, it was worth it.

Hello <3! I’ve recently got into F1 this year around May and I discovered Fathers and Sons around July and oh my goodness I absolutely adore it! Each Sunday I’d eagerly await that wonderful Ao3 update email and *rush* to go read the next chapter- and there’s so many things I love about it!
The dynamics between the kids, the difference between Max who was old enough when he was adopted to remember his life before Lewis and Seb v.s. Lando who only knows his family as is because he was taken in so young- with every chapter I find the siblings dynamics so unique and so interesting!
All of the individual struggles the kids go through, from being a teenager with a social life like Carlos, to Lando’s deafness and Max’s eagerness to step up and learn/practice with Lando- it’s just one of your fic’s charms that I ADORE!
The constant tension between Lewis and Seb, and how it affects the kids and each child’s perspective on their parent’s struggling relationship is so fascinating to me. Not to mention Seb and Lewis’s perspective of one another ontop of raising these four kids- and in some cases having to do it alone!
Every single side character as well and their own struggles, like Dan and his substance use or Checo and his own past- I just love every single detail you’ve included into this fic <3
The absolute rawness in this fic also pulls at my heartstrings so much- like when Max freaked out after the hockey game and pushed Seb through his anger, and then locked himself in the locker room and through his panic threw his phone on the ground- only to have the immediate realization that he fucked up and the utter guilt that comes with it when he realizes he messed up part of his phone- it’s phenomenal!
And not to mention the overarching mystery element to the story of Carlos’ adoption, and Lewis’s search for any clues or details he can find without involving Seb- it makes for such good angst and mystery- I love it so much!
I could honestly go on and on about how much I love this fic so far, and during your so much deserved break, I wanted to thank you so much for this delightful fic- and I hope my rambling in this ask wasn’t too annoying, but genuinely oh my goodness, thank you so much for this fic- it brings me such happiness as a reader <3
AHHHHH omg thank you!!!!! i just figured out how to hide a post in case of spoilers so now i can finally answer!!!
do i see maxy as one of your fave characters?? 0-0 but yes i love writing sibling dynamics! especially in the case of right now all siblings are living in the same environment (with lew and seb in a wealthy place) but they all view things so differently! as you said for example carlos has struggles related to his relationship or with his friends whereas max doesn't give a shit about school and is getting into trouble outside of it (ie checo and hockey). max and lando,,, i cry every time i write them, i love them soooooo much.
lewis and seb,,,, there's so much underlying drama there especially combined with the mystery element of carlos' adoption!!! i do love a good mystery - for an old fandom i wrote an insane murder mystery and it's the work I'm proudest of to this day! (a skz fic in anyone reads for that fandom!!)
i think side characters contribute so so much to a story! i hate when people don't utilise them well - they are people too with their own struggles and their lives don't revolve around the POV character.
i try to write some raw/emotional shit because i am an angst girl at heart. max is so easy to write angst for LMAO i always feel so bad hurting him, but I'm just too evil. don't worry - he'll get a break soon!
i LOVE a good long ramble especially when it's regarding a fic i've written so DON'T WORRY!!!! it makes me feel so appreciated as a writer and I'm churning with ideas for future chapters! I'm happy to announce I've planned scene-by-scene until chapter 50! and omgggg there's some utterly evil ones in there.
fns WILL be back in october! hopefully early October but my create brain has just been SO FLAT. which is so unfortunate because i miss all my boys so much too ;-;
thank you so much for your ask and feel free to drop an ask whenever you feel! i love answering them even if i am a little slow hehehehe

Sorry to hear you're sick I hope you feel better soon! i'm curious about what you're doing for NaNo so if you have time, would you tell us about 1, 3 and 6, 8, 10 and 12, 13, 14, 20? Basically everything! 😅
Oh anon, that's a kind ask, but I'm afraid I may not give you satisfying answers. From these questions.
I plan on 'writing all month' rather than focusing on a single work. Although I do have one short story I've been wanting to try despite feeling so-so about it. I'll answer those questions with that story in mind.
It has a temporary title : the Exorcist.
1- How many times have you done NaNo?
I think this is my third time?
3- How much planning do you have done?
None. I never plan. I'll have to do some research as I go but I wait for it to be story relevent.
6- What genre are you writing?
Erm… No idea. I keep thinking the concept is goofy as fuck, but everyone I talk to says it's creepy and could qualify as horror. I think it'll all be in the tone, but I want a fairly light and tongue in cheek main character pov.
8- Any inspirations?
Yes, from here actually. I answered a writing prompt about how life was going great living in a haunted house with a bunch of ghosts until an exorcist moved next door. That was weirdly popular considering I spent 20min on it max. But then it paired in my mind with a completely bonkers idea for some Eco-terrorism grand plot that involves body snatching billionaires…
10- Any romance sub-plots?
None on the docket, no. Not really into romance, especially if it's not baked into the characters from the start.
12- Who’s your favorite character so far?
I've written way too little to have a fav Y_Y I suppose the exorcist lol He's a very tired man. I think Hellboy is the closest in mentality I have for him.
13- Who’s your least favorite character so far?
Jeff Bezos.
14- Which of your characters would die first in the zombie apocalypse?
Mmh, hard to say as the core characters are all pretty tough in their own unique way. There's a witch and their partner, their child, and the exorcist. And a handful of ghosts/spirits, maybe, not decided. Probably the witch's partner.
20- If your MC was in another book, what book would they be in?
Any number of urban fantasy, I suppose. Though I'd like to think that Malcolm (the Exorcist in question) would fit best in the world of Constantine or the BPRD.
I'm fine though, don't worry. Just a cold dragging me down. I'll be back on my feet soon. Thanks for the ask though, and sorry for the more than vague answers lol

Part 1:
Ashton's POV:
For the past couple of months of our tour we have been busy almost nonstop. We have had constant meetings, signings, sound checks, rehearsals, recording sessions, interviews, anything you name we've had to do in the past 2 months. Our band is seriously exhausted. We are all stressed to the max. So when I woke up this morning to achy muscles I wasn't too surprised, as we had a concert last night, but even still I don't normally get this achy and stiff from a concert. Practically all of my muscles were really tight and stiff.
We have a couple days off and we are at a hotel for a week so, thankfully, I can rest. I was brought out of my thoughts when Calum said "Hey guys I'm going to head down to the gym. Anyone care to join me?" After he said that my mind instantly was in a warm, bubbly, Jacuzzi that was waiting for me downstairs.
"I'll go! I need a bit of exercise once in a while." Michael said jumping off the couch in our room.
"Same here. I'll meet you guys there." Luke had just gotten up so he wanted to eat something and brush his teeth.
"Ash?" Michael's voice bringing me out of my happy trance.
"Huh? Oh sorry. I think I'm going to relax in the jacuzzi for a bit... I'm really achy from last night." Of course they didn't think anything of it since being the drummer is the most strenuous job in the band. At least that's how I often feel, this being one of those times.
Michael and Calum went ahead while I got my swim trunks on and grabbed my water bottle, and a towel. This hotel was really nice the swimming pool and jacuzzi are inside, so I didn't have to worry about sunglasses or sunscreen. The only downside of this hotel is that there are no elevators, that we have seen anyways. It only has two floor though so it's not so bad. I started the climb dome the stairs and I noticed not even a full flight down I became very short winded. Again odd, but nothing serious... Hopefully. If I ended up needing, anything the guys are just a 10 step walk from the jacuzzi so I wouldn't have had very far to go.
By the time I reached it I felt strangely exhausted. A little relaxing did me good though. All of the achy and tense muscles I had we're gone, thankfully and I had only spent a total of 20 minutes in there.
When I got out I looked in the weight room and noticed that Luke joined Cal and Michael at some point. Although I felt a bit better, I started to notice some pain in my chest and with the breathing problem I was experiencing 30 minutes prior, I didn't want to risk walking back to our hotel room alone. I was starting to also get quite shaky and a tad wobbly on my feet. 'Ya I need help...' "Michael... C-can you help me g-get back to the r-room?" 'That's odd why am I stuttering?' I questioned myself. I wasn't expecting that at all. I knew I was shaking.
"Uh, sure. Are you alright Ashton? I did notice the stuttering- Whoa!" I suddenly fell and felt arms around me. "Ya... I'll take that as a no... Of course I'll help you out buddy. You need to lay down anyways, by the looks of it." Michael quickly picked me up and went up the status back into our room. He wasted no time in laying me down onto one of the beds. "So what's going on exactly? I know you mentioned something earlier about being sore. Do you think you are getting sick?" Michael kind of rambled.
"I'm not sure. Probably... If I'm being honest, the Jacuzzi did help the aches and tightness in my muscles, but as soon as I got out I noticed I was shaky and having some chest pains." I watched as pure terror etched it way onto Michael's face.
     "Ashton.... Anything else?" He asked.
"I was having shortness of breath when I was going down the stairs. That was one of the reasons I wanted your help." I addmited, only succeeding in making his worry skyrocket all the more. "... And I'm starting to get a fucking headache on top of everything... Fucking hell man." I exclaimed suddenly forcing myself into a sitting position with a hand on my head.
"Ashton, I really don't like these symptoms... Maybe we should take you to a doctor." He started to pull out his phone to call the others and let them know what's going on, but I stopped him.
"No! I'm going to try taking a nap and we will see how I feel when I wake up. If I am any worse we will go." He agreed to the plan. "Could you, maybe, make me something small to eat? That could be adding onto, or even causing all of this."
"Sure. I'll also bring back some meds for you. I don't fully know what to give you though." He said, somewhat sadly.
"Just get me something for my head. I'm not feeling sick or anything so it shouldn't be the flu." He nodded and felt my forehead to see if there was any warmth. I quickly reminded him that I was just in a hot Jacuzzi and that could really alter a body temp.
"That's true... Now I will be back. Try not to fall asleep just yet Ash." I nodded tiredly. Even sitting up and leaning against the headboard my eyes felt really heavy. I was fighting to stay awake.
Michael's POV:
'I am really worried about Ash. Chest pains aren't something to fuck around with and he should know that. He asked me to leave it alone for now and I will try my best.' There were plenty of times that I found myself contemplating calling Luke and Calum, but I ultimately decided against it. I finished putting together some Bacon and eggs in the kitchenette we had and swiftly brought over to Ash. "Oh Ash.." I muttered under my breath upon noticing his long deep breaths. He fell asleep. I set the plate of food down and gently shook his shoulder. "Ash I have some food for you bud." I watched his eyes open and he winded and grabbed his head. "Sorry. Do you have a migraine now?" He nodded, a tear falling from his hazel eyes. I wiped it away and closed the curtains, before grabbing a couple of my Excedrin migraine meds. "Here Ash. You were only asleep for 20 minutes. I'm shocked you have a migraine now." I whispered so I wouldn't hurt his head again.
"Ya, me too." Wincing at even his own voice.
"Will you be ok alone while I go downstairs to let the others know what's going on?" He nodded as he took the plate of food in his hands and began to eat. "Ok I'll be back." I said before turning and walking out of the room. I practically ran down the stairs and into the weight room. "Guys Ash isn't feeling too well."
"What do you mean? What's going on with him?" Luke asked quickly concerned for his band mate.
"Ya what's going on Michael. Is he ok?" Calum questioned.
"Define ok... Ha sorry. When he came in here and got me earlier he ended up falling over. I just managed to catch him, luckily, but he told me that he was having chest pains and shortness of breath, along with the muscle aches from earlier. He had developed a headache and after sleeping for about 20 minutes, it was a migraine. He's eating right now so that's a plus I suppose, but I'm still really worried about him. I tried to get him to agree to go to the doctor, but he denied and said that if, after a nap, he isn't feeling better he will go." I unknowingly rambled on.
"It could be from stress. We've all had so much on our plate the past couple months, I'm honestly surprised none of us had gotten sick sooner." Luke said. That made a lot of sense. I hadn't thought of that. "But even still, I agree that we should take him to the doctors."
"So do I. Even if it is just stress, it seems pretty serious, but we will have to wait it out for now and let him sleep. If he thinks it'll help that's in him." Calum stated.
We all decided to head back to the room. I waited while they grabbed there stuff from the lockers. Once they came out we headed back to the room. I looked to the bad and noticed that Ash had finished his food and fell asleep.
We all sat down on the couch and watch football on low volume. We chatted amongst ourselves for a while until we heard it...

Goodbye
Part 19 of On The Inside With Elizabeth Olsen
Word Count: ~8.9K
masterlist
Y/N POV
My mom stayed for four more days.
That first day with my mom in the city consisted of getting lunch in said city because my mother demanded it. So Liz took us to a place called Marc Forgine. It was basically overpriced and deconstructed foods. We enjoyed what we got but catch me missing it next time. I know Liz took us there to try and woo my mother, and it worked. Like a charm.
Next, we walked. Yes walked. To the 9/11 Museum and the memorial pools. Which my mom was grateful for. It was eerily silent while walking around. It's like there was a bubble around us at all time with how quiet it became. Liz talked about how she only came here twice. Once while she was at NYU and again when the museum opened up, that led to a line of questioning from my mother about Liz's time at NYU. Luckily the conversation steered away from the typical "Y/N, when are you going back to school?" Bs that I got.
After that, we decided to make our way back up towards Soho. Like the true tourist my mom was being, she stopped at almost every little bodega and mom-and-pop shop. She claimed they were "cute" and "historic." While she's not wrong, she sure knew how to waste time. But it made me happy to see my mom dawn a smile I hadn't seen in a while.
Even though this was the first day of many we spent with my mom, this day had an excellent memory tied to it. My mom found out about my very famous girlfriend and seemed to deal with it very well. Not that should wouldn't have. I mean, she knows I'm gay. And she loves that Liz got us into some exclusive places for dinner. But it's just nice not to hide someone special to me. I only bring that up because later that Tuesday night, when it was just Liz and I before Max came over for Avengers, Liz shyly told me she'd be speaking to her mom about us soon.
At first, I didn't know what to say. But when the words came to me, I told her I'd be there to support her no matter what.
By the way. Yes, I enjoyed Avengers. I would've enjoyed it more, but from the moment Natasha Romanoff came on screen, Liz's eyes were on me. It didn't help that her first scene is what it is!
Don't worry once Max went home after the movie, Liz made sure to let me know who I should have eyes for.
I have marks to prove it!
Anyways! Every day after the first day played out very similarly. We'd get up early, and either have breakfast at my apartment or join up with my mom and have brunch somewhere in the city. Then we'd visit museums, parks, and other touristy things my mom wanted to do. Times Square and Katz Deli were two bucket list items for my mom, so we made sure to do that as soon as possible.
Without a doubt, this whole thing was a blast, and despite Liz only getting recognized a handful of times, these days were some of the happiest I've had in a while.
And yes, I got the time off for all of this from Max; however, this time, it costed more than a phone call with Chris Evans.
Max: Dude, come on!
Y/N: You can't be serious!
M: Says the employee who has days off like that's her job! Plus, I know you'll be asking for more in the future.
I groaned into the phone, knowingly how frustratingly accurate my best friend can be.
Y: Fine!!!
M: You'll do it?
Y: Yes, I'll ask her.
M: Ask her what?
Y: I'll ask my girlfriend. Elizabeth Chase Olsen. If you, my best friend Max, could get tickets to the premier of Multiverse of Madness.
M: It won't be that hard.
Y: You're insufferable.
M: And yet you love me.
Y: I'm starting to question why.
After a couple more minutes of banter, I end the call promising the whiny redhead that yes, I'll ask Liz and try and convince her to give Max a ticket. How that will happen? I have zero idea.
_
Anyways it's now Saturday. I still haven't asked Liz, and we just got done saying goodbye to my mom after dropping her off at the airport when Liz received a call. I turned the volume for the AUX down and let Liz peacefully take the call as I continue the drive.
Even though I couldn't determine what was happening, it sounded good. My thoughts were only confirmed when I saw my Lizard start smiling. That smile could do wonders. I manage to pull my eyes away since I'm the one driving. I would hate for Liz to end up in an accident and forget who I am.
Could you imagine?
After a few minutes of inching closer to home, Liz ends her call and looks towards me. I glance at her and smile at the sight before me. Liz has her bottom lip pulled into her mouth as she beams a big toothy grin at me.
"Yes, my love?" "I have news!" She squeals. "I can see that! Do you want to tell me now or not when I'm behind the wheel?" I ask that jokingly but Liz takes careful thought of my question before turning back to me. "Now!" She shoots out before kissing me on the cheek. That has to be some news! I reach my hand over and give her thigh a little squeeze. "Good ahead!"
"That was my agent-" "Marla?" Liz lets out a little huff. "No, she's my publicist! Rhonda is my agent." I roll my eyes. It's all the same thing. "Okay, sorry." I sarcastically reply, earning a slap on the arm before she continues. "She told me that HBO is wondering if I'd be interested in being a lead in their new show! Isn't that exciting!"
Oh.
I mean, yes. That's so exciting! But that means the real world is coming back, and Liz will have to be apart. I can feel myself getting worked up, and I'm too busy letting my own thoughts clog my brain that I forgot to even reply to Liz.
"If you don't want me to take it, just say so," Liz says, hurt pulling me from my mind. I turn towards her with panicked eyes. "No, Liz, I'm sorry, I jus-" She doesn't bother listening; instead, she turns up the volume drowning me out. Feeling defeated, I turn and focus on the road letting my dumb brain try to think of ways to explain myself and how to apologize.
_
When we pulled up to my apartment, the tension in the car only got worse.
Liz was quick to unbuckle herself, but I was faster to lock the doors from my side of the car trapping Liz in so we could talk.
"Y/N, let me out." She sternly tells me while not bothering to look at me. "Liz." I reach my hand out to her and calmly place it on her high. I watch her body relax to my touch, but she refuses to turn to me. "I-" Shit. I really should've thought about what to say.
"I- I think this is a great opportunity! It's exciting, Lizard. I meant to respond to you earlier, but I just got so wrapped up in my own head. I love to see you succeed! I love knowing that people want to work with you and have you as the face of their projects. But.. I-" Liz finally turns to face me. She can look into my eyes and see I'm telling her the truth, not just something she wants to hear. "I'm enjoying what we have now. I just don't want you to go back to your life and realize that I can't keep up or.. or worse. You realize that I don't deserve you..." Those last couple of words have been dancing around my mind for a while. I didn't mean to let them slip out. But it's too late now. I open my mouth to say more, but the words I want to say are stumbling over one another.
I didn't notice that I went quiet and was staring at my cup holders until Liz placed a hand under my chin and lifted it so I could see her face. Correction. So I can see her eyes. Her kind green eyes that make me melt. Liz doesn't say anything. Instead, she wraps herself around me and lets our embrace do the talking for now.
I don't know how long we sat like that, but eventually, Liz pulls back and cups her hands around my face. "Why do you think I told you about the gig in the first place?" She asks me in almost a whisper like she's afraid I'll break from loud noises. Silly but caring.
I don't know why Liz asked me, so I answer with a shrug earning a tight-lipped smile from her. "I told you about it because I wanted to talk to you first. I wanted to know what you thought. How you felt? What you think I should do." Okay? Liz knows I'm a little slow today, so she leans in and kisses my nose. "You're my girlfriend, Y/N. I wanted to talk about this opportunity with my girlfriend. I want to know what my girlfriend thinks." I put my hands on top of her hands, which are still resting on my face. "I'm sorry. I just got scared for a second and-" "We're both over-thinkers." I smile. Liz and I get each other. But we're also like Liz said. Over-thinkers. We let ourselves get trapped in our heads. So conversation like this needs to happen.
Liz pulls me in for a soft kiss on the lips. I still smile into her lips from time to time because it's so outrageous who I'm kissing.
After a couple of seconds of silence pass, Liz breaks the air.
"Y/N. I enjoy what we have." I look up at her; her eyes, but to my surprise, their shut. "I don't want you ever to feel or think that I wouldn't. I also never want you to feel or think that you don't deserve what we have. What we're building too." She opens her glossy eyes. "I love you. I feel you. You deserve this happiness that you feel. You deserve to be loved. I am willing to give that love to the stars in the sky and back. You deserve us. You're more than enough. Okay?" I don't trust myself to speak because I know my voice will crack and the tears will start. So instead, I just nod and let my head fall against Liz. She begins to shower me with kisses. "We're in this together."
"I love you, Lizard." I look up to see Liz wipe away some of her tears and chuckle at the nickname she still receives.
It takes a bit more time, but I eventually unlock the car door, and before Liz steps out, I stop her one more time. "Take the job. I'm serious. I don't care where it takes you. I'll be there. We're in this together, my love." I step out of the car before seeing Liz's reaction, but I still catch a glimpse of it when she hops out of the vehicle. She scrunches her nose up and shines a big smile. Yep, this is the woman of my future.
The rest of the morning is spent relaxing and movie-watching in cozy clothes. Liz has slowly been educating me on the things I should've seen years ago. It's been fun! But we've concluded that she's more artsy and old school than I am in our movie choices. We're both still a little tired from earlier, so it wasn't long before we ended up crashing on the couch.
_
When I open my eyes, the sun is still out and shining on us, so I know it's still Saturday. Or I hope it is. I go to lift myself, but my body reminds me of the weight on my chest. I dart my eyes down and see the dirty blonde hair of a certain sleeping beauty. She has her arms on each side of my body and her mouth slightly open. She looks so cute that I take this opportunity for a little "payback." I manage to grab my phone from my pocket and take a picture of her sleeping.
After cooing over the photo, I set it as her contact photo for me and sent it to the Y/N & Twins group chat. Since I'm awake but can't move, I decide to spend some time on my phone catching up on things I've missed since Liz and my mom visited.
Not surprisingly, the news being tailored to me is now full of Marvel news and lifestyle updates.
I didn't even know they were releasing a Black Widow movie! I remember Max crying about Natasha for weeks, but I don't remember why... I bet she's happy she's getting her own movie.
I keep my volume low as I watch the latest trailer for Black Widow. I keep the volume low for two reasons. One, I don't want to wake Liz. Two, I'm not only afraid of what would happen if I woke her but what would happen if she woke up because I was watching a thing about Natasha. However, the question remains Should I since I just watched The Avengers? Probably not. But I'm bored at the moment, and this is here.
However, as soon as I start this New Trailer, it starts showing me scenes from movies I haven't seen. So maybe this isn't a good idea. I watch it cut to multiple movies before it's a scene of her and arrow guy. I quickly close out the video before anything else could happen. Or get spoiled for me.
I open the Y/N & Twins group chat, and before I can even think about what to stupidly do next, I get a call from the MK. Without thinking, I answer it, and before I can even share a greeting, MK interrupts.
MK: Where are you??
Does she sound stressed?
Y/N: At home?
M: With Liz? Why are you whispering?
Y: Yeah, who else would that be? And she's sleeping.
M: Wait, so she's back in the city, and neither of you told me?! Bitches.
I stifle a laugh as I squeeze myself out from under Liz. I make sure she is unbothered and comfortable before heading into my room.
Y: She surprised me earlier this week. We've just been enjoying our time.
M: Wait, did she meet your mom?
Y: Yes, and before you ask, everything is good. It all went well.
I hear MK let out a sigh of relief.
M: How long is she in town?
Y: My mom left this morning
M: Not your mom Y/N.
Y: Oh. Uhhh, it's kind of TBD.
I hear MK let out a small squeal.
M: Okay, the three of us are going out tonight! Wear something nice!
I go to try and argue, but I hear shuffling coming from MK's phone before she comes back.
M: Gotta go! Bye Y/N!
She draws out my name before she hangs up.
The call ends, and my phone returns to my group chat with the twins. They're both awwing over the photo, and MK thanks me for the new piece of blackmail.
"Babe?" I hear a groggy Liz call out. I put my phone away and walk back into the living room. Liz is now sat up. Her hair covering half of her tired pouty face. "Hi, love," I whisper to her as I kneel in front of her.
"Where'd you go?" She asks with a frown. "Your sister called-"
"Which one?"
"MK."
"Why?"
She seems more awake and slightly worried. "She wants us to hang out tonight?" Confusion forms onto my girlfriends face. "Just you two?" I shake my head and sit next to her on the couch. "No. Us three." I pull Liz close to me so she can lean her body onto mine.
Liz thinks about it for a moment before she nods to herself. "Okay." She buries her head into my side, causing me to lift my arm and gently place it down her body. I lean my head back and close my eyes, just enjoying this relaxing aftern-
"Wait.. she knows I'm here?" Liz looks up with wide eyes. I look down at her in a duh-like fashion before the dots connect.
"Oh. Yeah... I might have sent them a pic of you without thinking about it." "Them?" Liz leans up, so she's sitting next to me. "Your sisters?" "How? What pic?" I pull my phone out and show Liz the group chat with the pics. I watch as her eyes scan the words in front of her before she hits the pictures. I see a quick smile appear on her face before she looks at me and tosses my phone at me. The second I catch my phone, a pair of lips are on my own, along with a body straddling me. What starts as a quick kiss turns into a steamy minute make-out session.
Once we pull apart for air, Liz scrunches her face up at me. "Payback, huh?" I smile at her, and without saying anything, I show her that the pic is indeed her new contact photo. Her eyes peer over to my phone, and I watch her face drop. She slowly moves her eyes back to my own and gives me a vicious smile that is happy and shocked. I don't have to wait too much longer until once again I'm being showered in kisses.
Once Liz gives me mercy, she stops and pulls back. "I love it."
"Good, because I love you." I boop Liz's nose earning a laugh from her. "What time did my sister say to meet her?" I tilt my head in thought. "Uhh, I'm pretty sure she didn't give me a time or place." Liz rolls her eyes and slides off me and onto the couch. "Great. That means it's going to be somewhere fancy." "Are you sure?" Liz moves her head to face me. "Positive. But I'll double-check with her."
Liz reaches in her pocket for her phone, but I guess she remembered that she had left it in the kitchen when we returned from the airport. "Need me to call it?" Liz shakes her head. "No, I'll find it." I watch Liz huff before getting off the couch looking for her phone.
Liz POV
I find my phone, and thankfully I only have a couple of texts and none of them urgent.
I click on the texts from Robbie I find myself smiling down at them.
"Got this earlier this week! (picture attached) Thank you for being my worry detective all these years. Your support still means the world.
Now go enjoy your time with Y/N."
I can feel myself getting a little teary-eyed, and I know Y/N felt the air in the room change because, soon enough, I have a pair of arms wrapped around me with a body pressed up against my back.
"Hey, baby, what's wrong?" I turn around to face Y/N. "Nothings wrong." I shove my phone into her left hand so she can see what I see. I bring her right hand into my own and pull myself closer to her.
"Wow." My ears catch Y/N's whisper. "That's amazing." I feel Y/N kiss the top of my head. "I'm proud of him, Liz." I look at my girlfriend. "Me too."
She positions my phone back in front of me. I grab it and look back down at the picture.
Robbie's One Month Sobriety Chip.
I feel Y/N squeeze me, pulling me from my phone. She has her jaw clenched, and I notice she does that when she is holding in a question or a concern.
"What's up?" I put my phone in my pocket and focus my attention on Y/N. "How often do you and Robbie talk?" She asks in a calming tone. We've talked about Robbie still being in my life, but I guess we never did talk about how much he's still in my life. Does that make sense?
"Once or twice a week?" I think about it. "But It's mainly check-up texts on one another. Does that bother you?"
Y/N takes a moment to think about her following words. Which is something I've come to respect about her. She never wants to be rash or rude. Although sometimes she gets trapped in her own mind.
I grab her by her hands and lead her into her bedroom. I bring her to her bed and playfully push her onto it, with me following suit and sitting down next to her. I hope she doesn't think I am cheating or would cheat on her.
"Talk to me, Y/N/N." I poke her forehead. "What's going on up there?" She gives to a small laugh and grabs my hands. "Is he really okay with us?" That wasn't the question I was expecting.
I nod at her. "Of course. He's made it very clear multiple times. Y/N, as long as I'm happy, he's happy. And trust me." I break free of her and put my hands onto her shoulders. "I'm happy. I'm grounded. I'm safe. I'm loved. I'm happy." I look into her eyes, and there isn't a hint of sadness. "Than I am too." She leans forward and places a kiss on my lips that just means more.
When we break apart, I let my hands drop from her and grab my phone. I hold it up to her, causing her to look at me, confused. "You can look if you want."
That look of confusion I got was even worse than the one before. "Liz." She grabs my phone and sets it on her desk beside her bed. "I trust you. I trust your words. I don't need to look through your phone to prove that. All I need is you. Seriously Lizard. Just you. Got it?" I nod my head and let the smile I have hurt my cheeks. "I got it, my Coffee Girl." Y/N grabs my phone and hands it to me. "Text him back. Tell him you're proud of him, and you'll be there for him. And if you want to let him know that I'm there for him too, then that's fine. But no pressure or anything, my love."
I can get over how perfect my Y/N is. Who does this kind of thing for their partners ex? I smile and do what Y/N tells me to. In addition to that, I decide to call MK. I put her on speaker so Y/N and I could both ask questions. It warms my heart how comfortable my sisters are with Y/N. I know MK is closer to her, and I had suspicions for a while, but after this week with Y/N, it all went away. I'll never tell Y/N that, though.
The call went just how I suspected. MK wants us to have a high-end dinner at 7. So that means we have to wear something nice and fancy. Y/N visibly gets concerned when she realizes that as well. I give her a look, but she ignores it. But I know the reason.
Once I'm off the phone, Y/N immediately gets up and starts searching her closet. I instantly follow her into her closet and turn her around, so she's facing me.
"Stop." "But-" "No buts. Step out of the closet." She gives me a cheeky smile making me roll my eyes. "Come on." I stick my hand out to her, and she grabs on. I pull her into the living room, making sure to grab a tote placing our wallets, phones, and whatever else for tonight in it.
"Where are you going?"
"We are going to my place!" I give her a cheery smile while placing her Dodgers hat on her. I admire her and give her a quick peck before she asks, "What for?"
"You were about to spend countless time in that closet going over everything you own. I know what we can wear tonight. But it's at my place, so we're going there. Plus, it'll be good to be there, and who knows, maybe we can stay there tonight."
Y/N POV
Liz gives me a wink and another quick kiss on the lips. "Now come on. Get your shoes on, and let's go." Liz turns her back to me to put on her pair of chacos while I slip on a pair of my vans. Once Liz is done, I scoop her up and spin her around, listing to her squeal and yelling at me to put her down.
Once her feet hit the floor, she tries her best to look upset, but she only ends up looking cuter, earning a shower of kisses from me, causing us both to laugh.
Before I know it, Liz has my keys in her hand as we walk out of my apartment building hand in hand.
_
It hit me while we were on the road that I had never been in a car with just Liz. Like no one else with us. This was also the first time Liz or I had driven each other around.
She's very safe behind the wheel, but I see why she usually has drivers. NY can be hectic, and that's why she prefers LA. Speaking of that, when is she going back?
I quickly get that thought out of my head and keep a hold of Liz's right hand whenever it's not on the wheel. I rub my thumb along her knuckles and catch myself staring at her side profile. She's so beautiful, and I can't believe I get to call her mine.
But the world still doesn't know...
Ugh, why do these thoughts keep invading my head today?
"Y/N." I lift my eyes to Liz's before she shifts them back to the road. Apparently, I was just caught staring at her neck. "You okay?" She asks with a smile. I nod and kiss her hand. "Just thinking."
"About?"
I don't want to bring it up, but I guess I should.
Just as I'm about to open my mouth, Liz curses and yanks her hand out of my own, grabbing hold of the wheel, shifting it quickly to the left, and slamming on the brakes, causing me to make that "hgghhh" noise.
I didn't have time to register what had happened before Liz was out of the car and running towards a kid that had fallen onto the road.
Once I got out of the car, Liz already had the kid sitting on the curb. I got a good look. I can see that it was a young boy, maybe six or so. He was holding onto Liz's side crying. I was about to rush over, but the number of people yelling and honking at me to get my car "out of the fucking way" was too much to ignore. Luckily I recognized we were near Liz's building, about two blocks down. Liz looked up and nodded to me that I could go. She mouthed a quick "I love you," warming my heart and making me do the same.
_
After I parked the car at Liz's building with help from Mr. Madison, I made my way back to Liz. By the time I made it, the boy was standing next to another woman talking to Liz. I assume this is the boys mother, but I have no clue. I'm just going to guess it's his mother.
The closer I got, the more I could see Liz peering her eyes. She was looking for me. I didn't quite get why until I saw her fidgeting with her rings and fingers. I quickened my short walk and made it to Liz's side before she knew it. Liz grabbed onto one of my hands and gave it a big squeeze.
The little boy seemed frightened by my sudden appearance causing him to grab hold of his mom's legs. My heart broke at that sight. Liz saw this while the mother was completely oblivious. Or maybe she was used to it?
Liz made sure to position herself in front of me while maintaining eye contact with the mom. As the conversation between the two grown-ups was coming to an end, I watched as Liz shined the boy a smile. The boys face instantly lit up before he looked away. I went to move, but Liz stopped me as she crouched in front of the boy.
"Jack, can you look at me?" Liz quietly asked the boy, who I can guess is named Jack. Jack looked up to his mom, who nodded at her son. He turns his gaze to Liz. "Are you feeling better?" The boy shook his head yes while looking away from her. It was then that I noticed that this kid did take a nasty spill. He has a scrap up one of his arms and on his knee. They aren't bleeding at the moment, but I know they probably sting hence why he was bawling earlier. "Now, I know you got scared earlier, but that doesn't mean you should just run away. Okay?" Liz keeps her voice and tone calm and gentle as she talks to Jack. "Jack?" The boy lets go of his mother's leg and hugs Liz. Something the mother and Liz weren't expecting but being the perfect person she is, my Lizard allows the hug to happen.
"I promise I won't run away again," Jack says as Liz pulls him out of the hug. "Thank you, Jack." The boys mother quickly scoops him up and places him on her hips. Liz gets up from her crouched stance and gets in front of me once again. I try to listen to the goodbye between Liz and the boys mother, but Jack is looking at me like he's studying me. I'm not sure what to do in this moment. Clearly, there's something going on behind the scenes with this kid, and I don't want to do or say anything that will be wrong. But something must've gone right because as Jack and his mom start walking away, I get a little wave from Jack. I go to wave back, but Jack has already looked away.
Liz POV
I watch the smile on Y/N's grow as Jack gives her a wave. She raises her hand up to wave, but Jack got bored of her and looks away, making me laugh.
"What?" Y/N looks at me, confused. I shake my head. "Nothing. You're just cute." "Pretty sure that's you." I feel Y/N's arms wrap around me and pull me into a quick hug. "You were amazing." I give Y/N a look. "With the boy. You were amazing." I don't exactly know what to say. "You okay?" Y/N now looks at me with concern.
I nod. Because yes, I am okay. I mean, I was scared that I did hit that kid, but the relief that came over me when I saw how far he was from Y/N's car was astronomical. Before I thought about what to do, my mind took over. I quickly scanned over Jacks body and assessed what was hurt. I knew he was going to cry no matter what I did, so I took him over to the curb as quickly as I could. We couldn't just hang out in the middle of the road. Thankfully he latched onto me. Maybe it was because he thought I was safe, or perhaps he just needed to hold something or someone.
Giving Y/N that nod to tell her to move the car was the scariest part of the whole thing. I didn't want her to leave, but I knew she had to. I also didn't know who this boy was or where his parents were. And selfishly, I was worried about myself. I didn't want anyone to recognize me and for pictures to be taken of this moment.
So eventually, when a worried woman came around the corner calling for her son, I felt better.
I nod to Y/N and pull her into a kiss. "Shall we get going?" I ask as I feel her lips form a smile. "Lead the way."
The walk to my place was quiet, and I think Y/N knew I just needed to destress because the whole walk, she let me play with her hands and fingers as she held me close. Every once in a while, I'd feel a quick peck on the top of my hat. Every time it happened, I'd smile and let a quiet giggle slip out. I didn't even care that we were in public.
Speaking of which, that's a conversation for another time.
_
As I close the door to my apartment, I hear Y/N let out a "wow." She turns to me, embarrassed knowing I heard, but I walk up next to her and rub her back. "It's okay to let an inside thought out." I tease her earning an eye roll. "I'm just saying I forgot how beautiful your place is. It's perfect." Y/N smiles at me, and the look in her eyes is pure. She loves this place, and so do I. "Come on." I smack her ass and set my hat and tote down on the kitchen counter before pulling her into the bedroom.
"I thought we were here for clothes, not this." My mouth drops a bit at Y/N's sassy tone. "Don't be naughty! We are here for clothes! That, however." I point to her and the bed that she is sitting on. "Is for later. Now stay there!" I watch Y/N blush as I walk into my closet, which I haven't seen in a month.
After a few minutes of searching and going through every possible fit for Y/N and I, I believe I have found something suitable. But just to be sure. "Dress or suit?" I yell out from the closet. I get no response. So I ask the question one more time, once again earning silence.
"Y/N!" I walk out of the closet, and my girlfriend is gone. I then try my best to hunt for her. She's not in the living room, kitchen, guest room, or either bathroom. There's only one other place.
I open the door at the top of the steps, and it's like the outside world stops existing. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful sight. I'm watching the woman I love talking to my plants. It's adorable, and damn I'm so happy I asked Scarlett to come by and take of my garden. She's so unique and tender with my plants. It's probably because last year, when she was over, I scared her half to death when she started picking my fruits too early. How and why? I don't know.
I continue watching Y/N. I don't want to disturb her because she looks so happy. She says she has a grey thumb, but I know I will change that.
"It's rude to stare. You, of all people, know that." Y/N turns to me with a wide-ass smile on her. "How'd you know?" Y/N walks to me, extending her arm to pull me up. "I heard you coming up." I place her lips on top of mine. "So, were you just checking on the garden?" I ask with kid-like glee. Y/N wraps her arm around my waist, turning me around so we both face my garden. "I remember that this jungle was up here and you hadn't asked me once to go and check on it, so I was worried that it'd all be dead, but it's thriving more than ever! How?" Y/N turns to me. "I have friends Y/N! But I never asked because you told me they'd die under your care. So that kinda warns me off!" She opens her mouth to argue, but she knows I'm right. "I can learn!" Her saying that makes me happier than she realizes. "I know you will, my Coffee Girl!" I pull her into a long passionate kiss.
"So, did your friend leave this?" Y/N holds up a Black Widow action figure. I grumble at seeing it. "Yes, my friend's kid left it." "Is the friend who I think it is?" Y/N shyly asks. I know Y/N loves me, but there is something that lights a fire in me whenever we've seen Scarlett on screen. And I know Y/N once commented about Natasha Romanoff, but I can't help it. "Yes, it is." I pull away from Y/N, wanting to end this conversation as soon as possible, but Y/N catches my wrist. "Lizard, my love, you know I have eyes for you!" I sigh. "I know. I know. I'm trying." I kiss her cheek before running up to the plant I was talking to the first time she came here.
"Did you name her yet!?" Y/N asks excitedly. "Umm, yes, I did." I'd forgotten the name until just this moment, but yes, I did name it. I named it that day she was last here. "Do you want to guess?" "Planty?" Y/N asks in all seriousness. "Nope." I reply, popping the P. "Leigh?" I smile at the thought that she thought I named a plant after one of my characters. "Nu-uh. Last guess." "Murray?" I shake my head, confused at that last guess. "Noah," I reply. "I think it's a cute name for a boy or girl, so why not give it to a plant." Y/N's face lit up hearing me. "I agree. It's beautiful." Y/N then reaches her hand out to Noah and shakes its leaves. "Nice to meet you, Noah." I laugh and look over at my Coffee Girl, realizing how goofy she is and how lucky I am.

Y/N POV
"Are you sure this about this?" I ask Liz for probably the millionth time since exiting the car. I know she's getting annoyed, but she looks back at me, smiles, and reassures me that I look flawless as we leave the elevator onto the restaurant floor. She's fast walking because we may have had a bit of a hiccup getting her, and by hiccup, I mean Liz and I couldn't keep our hands off each other once we both saw each other in our first.

But anyways, it's that kind of fancy tonight. And the restaurant is at the top of a New York skyscraper. What is my life?
I look over Liz as we get closer to the opening of the restaurant, and she takes my breath away again. She must've felt my gaze on her because the next thing I know, I'm getting scolded as she hooks her arm around me and pulls me to a table with an already waiting MK.
"Nice of you two to make it!" MK stands up from the table and sprints to me first. "Y/N!" I can practically feel Liz burning a hole into MK. I politely hug MK back before she moves on to her sister. Liz lets MK wrap her up into a tight squeeze as MK gushes about how much she's missed her. "Okay, let's sit!"
We're sitting at a typical-sized square table. MK is in the middle with Liz and I across from one another. I notice that all the seats have water waiting for them, including the fourth unoccupied seat. Weird.
"So tell me everything! What have you two been up to? How was Y/N's mom, and what is up with your guys' look tonight? Black and White? Bride and Groom?!" Liz chokes on her water at the sound of that. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It has to be good, right? Meanwhile, MK is nothing but smiles as she looks between the two of us.
"Babe, you wanna take this one?" I wink over to Liz as MK gags at the sound of "babe."
"This is going to be a long dinner, isn't it, Mary-Kate?" Liz bluntly asks her older sister. MK gives a teasing smile and grabs Liz's hand "what are sisters for!"
Liz POV
We're now halfway through our appetizer, and everything is going smoothly. The waiter just left with our orders. MK and I have been hitting it off while catching up. Y/N has been keeping it light and fun. We have also brought up Y/N's mom, and MK was delighted at how much she loved New York City and me. However, that led to this: "So when is Y/N meeting Mom and Dad?"
I physically watched Y/N fix all her attention on me. "Soon," I replied. "I've already texted mom about Y/N, so she knows-" "But not Dad?" I see Y/N shift in her seat as she goes to stop my sister.
"MK-"
"No, it's alright." I hold out my left hand to Y/N. "Dad will find out when I feel comfortable." I calmly let MK know. But I can feel my adrenaline spike. She nods at me, but we both know what might happen when Y/N and my Dad meet. I hope it doesn't. I close my eyes briefly to try and ca-
"What about the world?" "What?" I look at my sister, confused. "When will the world find out about this one?" She points her thumb at Y/N like she can't speak for herself. "I mean, everyone thinks you and Robbie are still together. Don't you think that's a little unfair?"
I glance over to Y/N, who looks just as shocked as I feel. "Where is this coming from?"
"It's not coming from anywhere, Lizzie. I'm just saying tha-"
"That what?! That everyone should know my fucking business all the time?"
I'm getting louder, and I don't mean to. I can feel the lid about to pop off.
"Liz, I-" I once again stop my Y/N. "You hated everyone knowing all your shit all the time. Why would you want that for me?" I spit back to MK, who is surprisingly being calm about this. Or maybe she's doing it for Y/N.
"Lizzie. I understand that, and I'm sorry. You know I don't want the media in your life like that. I just think." She looks from me to Y/N and back to me. "I just think that it's kind of unfair for Y/N to be... hidden? I don't know if that is the right word or not."
What is she talking about? Y/N isn't being hidden from the world. She's just-
"MK." Y/N stops my sister, who turns and looks at my girlfriend. "I appreciate you for always looking out for me. For us. Liz and I. But her and I have somewhat talked about this. Think about it like this." Y/N leans forward in her seat to be closer to the table. "Does the world know about me? No, they just assume. Now, does the world know that Liz is bisexual? Once again, people assume." Y/N takes a pause. "Now would I love to be out and have people know that I'm dating THE Elizabeth Olsen and that she is my girlfriend, yeah to a certain extent, but the bottom line is, is that this is all new for Liz. I'd wait a thousand lifetimes until she was ready to let people know about her, Robbie, us, whatever" I watch Y/N smile as she says that, but she doesn't look at me; instead, she looks down and at her lap almost as if that realization hurts her...
"Plus." Y/N looks up to MK. "She's there for Robbie right now. And I am too. We'd just hate for the news of their separation to happen for him at a time like this. I mean, imagine-"
"The media would tear him apart," MK says as she gets it. Y/N nods and gives her a short smile before darting my eyes to me and then away.
"Fuck. I'm sorry, Lizzie. I wasn't trying to worry you or stress you out or anything. You too, Y/N." My sister looks between the two of us, and we know she means it. She has this twinkle in her eyes right now that she only gets when she's either really drunk or sincere. Wait, maybe that's both at the same time?
The tension has simmered down a bit by the time the waiter comes around and tops our waters and wine off, allowing Y/N to excuse herself.
Y/N POV
I'm happy. I'm happy. Don't cry. Don't cry.
I keep repeating this inside of my head the whole trek to the granite-coated bathroom.
It's so stupid. I don't know why I'm letting myself get so worked up about this. Of course, Liz wants to share me with the world someday. No, this isn't just a phase. She made that clear earlier today, so why am I being an idiot about it now? I said what I said at the table, so why do I feel like that is a lie? Why does my brain do this to me?
It's not too long until I'm standing in the middle of a stall with my head resting on my arm, holding in my tears.
"Y/N?" I lift my head. I didn't even hear the door open up. "Y/N? Please tell me you're here." I stand up straight and wipe whatever water I had surrounding my eyes away before taking a deep breath in and unlocking the stall door.
"Y/N?" Liz appears in front of me, and her smile quickly shrinks when she sees my face. I guess I didn't do a good job at hiding my emotions. "What's wrong?" Liz cups her hands around my face as she pushes us back into the stall.
I bite my lip and look into the worried green eyes of my Liz. "I'm sorry." Liz shakes her head, confused at me. "Sorry, what are you sorry for?" I watch her eyes slowly begin to scan my body, and I didn't know why until I remembered what had happened with Robbie. "For leaving." I clarify so she doesn't have to look for cuts or anything.
"I just thought you really had to pee, but minutes upon minutes went by, and we got a little worried." Liz chuckles to try and lighten the mood.
Minutes? I swore I just got here.
"I'm sorry." Liz grabs hold of my face, so I have to look directly at her. "Stop apologizing and tell me what's going on, my Coffee Girl."
Where do I start?
"Everything I said at the dinner table, I believe. It's just..." I take a deep breath in because I need it, and I'm still holding my tears. "I think what MK said got to me a little. Because I'd be lying if I said that I don't feel hidden." Liz is intently listening, and her eyes tell me what's going through her head. She blames herself.
"But Liz, listen to me. I would wait a thousand lifetimes. Hell, I'd wait a thousand of a thousand lifetimes because I'd be with you. At the end of the day, it's you and I. You got that? I love you. And I won't stop." I chuckle a little bit, making Liz look at me. "What's funny?" She quietly whispers to me.
"I think that's another reason why I needed air or to calm down or to do whatever the hell I'm doing in here." I look around the stall as I say that. "It made me realize how much I do love you." I smile at Liz, who looks like she is about to break. "Does that scare you?" I wrap my arms around her and pull her close to me, kissing the top of her head before moving out of the big, so I'm face to face with her.
"Not at all." Liz crashes her body onto mine to avoid the tears slipping out because we both know that the last thing we want to do is look like a mess when we return to the table, whenever that is.
MK POV
Okay so they've been gone for like fifteen minutes. So either they both fucked off and left me with the bill or Liz couldn't control herself and is having her way with Y/N.
Could you blame her?
Sorry is that inappropriate?
Anyways the waiter is finally placing with our meals and the girls have yet to be seen. I swear if they left.
I'm about to say screw it and dig in when I notice the fourth meal across from me. I know Liz whispered something to the waiter. Did this bitch really order a second meal? This place ain't cheap.
I'm so caught up that I almost don't notice a short haired blonde walking up to my table.
"Seat taken?"
Liz POV
I'm not quite sure what I was expecting to happen when Y/N opened up her bathroom stall but this conversation wasn't one of them. Hearing what she had to say hurt but I completely get it.
Not only is it hard to date a celebrity but it's hard to date one that isn't out and is technically still in a relationship with someone else. It's tricky and hard but hearing her say all the things she said just made one thing clear.
I love this woman with all my heart, and I'll do my hardest to let her know that. She's my rock. My supporter. She's my soulmate.
Which is going to make this next part a little fun.
Before we step out of the bathroom door Y/N and I give ourselves a look over. We definitely don't look the same as when we entered but we look close enough. As long as we don't have make up running down our face and spilled wine on our outfits I think we're okay.
"Okay so." I take a look at my phone to double check the time. Yep. She's here. "Liz what-"
"When we get back to our table there's going to be an additional person there. I called someone when you got dressed earlier and decided to surprise you. This was before how the last twenty minutes have gone but honestly you might need this right. And watching you will make me feel loads better. Just don't be nervous."
"You do realize that makes me even more nervous right?"
I give Y/N a cheeky smile before pulling her into a kiss. A kiss that starts of innocent before my lips leave hers and trail down to her neck. "Liz." Y/N moans out as I start sucking on the skin of her collarbone. "What are you doing?" That's the question I was waiting for. I stop and give Y/N a devious smile.
Y/N POV
"Just making sure she knows what's mine."
I went to pull my shirt closed but Liz slapped my hands away and opened it back up. "Let her see."
What the hell did Liz mean by that. Who is this other person? The fast walk back to the table was filled with questions like these and with the memories of the conversation prior forgotten.
As we got closer I could see MK talking to short haired blonde but that's all I could see the back of this blondes head.
It wasn't until I sat Liz down at her seat and moved to my own that I saw who it was.
"Are you going to introduce yourself?" The raspy blonde spoke to me. She spoke to me!
"Oh uh Y/N." I extended my hand out and try my best to keep my nerves inside.
"Scarlett." The Black Widow herself shook my hand.
I darted my eyes to Liz who just so happens to be in the middle of a conversation with MK.
Once Scarlett and I got done with our pleasantries I made sure Liz had her attention on me when I mouthed the words "you're dead." To which only got an eye roll and a heart she formed with her hands making sure no one saw.
"So Y/N." Oh God Scarlett's talking to me again. "Liz says you're watching the Marvel movies for the first time." I nod. "That's correct."
"So I was wondering if you had a favorite character yet? And don't say Wanda because I'd know you'd lying." Scarlett smirks at me while I look from her to Liz and back.
"You want me to be honest?"
"I'd want nothing more."
Scarlett's going to get me killed.
