don't get me wrong, 'rogue' is a great episode, but i've been buzzing with anger since it came out because what the fuck do you mean "first gay kiss"? and this isn't just because i'm a ninejackrose truther (i am), it's because jack harkness has been openly canonically in love with the doctor since 2005. he kissed him on the mouth in 2005 and it was earnest and flagrantly queer. jack harkness has been an unkillable faggot on family television since 2005 and you WILL put some fucking respect on his name because that shit is important. and even if jack harkness hadn't initiated the first gay kiss on doctor who, then there have still been times when the doctor has kissed men. and even if you write those off as platonic, what about the fucking sapphics that all of you are deciding to ignore? what about madame vastra and jenny, a married couple. or, more recently, the very notably lesbian bill kissing heather. and even all of this flippantly treats the historical queer subtext of the show as unimportant.
tl;dr, the fifteen did not have the first gay kiss on doctor who so stop fucking saying that

Full disclosure I'm a couple episodes behind in WWW, so I'm not 100% on every thing that's being discoursed about, but I've seen enough that I just want to remind people/beg people to remember:
You are watching The Nuance Show, DMed by Mr. Philosophical Nuance and played by Notable Lovers of Nuance.

Won't lie, this whole chapter is just generally really cathartic. From Shima showing his feelings towards Mitsumi enough to be picked up on (and actually understanding himself what Kanechika is getting at) to opening up about his acting career. He's never been so open about his past as he is now. Historically, he just lets it go unspoken so that only those who were there at the time have any idea. And even then, the others may know the *events* but that doesn't mean they know what Shima thought or felt at the time.
It sounds like Shima was in a bad place already when the whole drinking incident took place, captured in an anxiety cycle he had no way of breaking out of. And the drinking incident has always been spoken of as this black mark upon all involved (understandably so, especially for Ririka), but knowing that Shima was at rock bottom at the time, knowing that he now wants to speak to the person "at fault", I do wonder.
For all that the incident was a black mark, it sounds like Shima was at his breaking point by this stage. And the incident let him "get out". It didn't resolve the underlying issues and saddled both him and Ririka with some brand-new ones, but! If not this way, what was his escape? It would have been a full-on breakdown in some way or another, most likely.
So it'll be really interesting to see how Shima views it in hindsight now that he's finally in a place to process his feelings about back then

The Mel takes I've seen......buck wild. I thought the Caitlyn stans were gonna be in the trenches defending her(and they are), but clearly the Mel (and the MelJay stans by proxy) are in there too.
What is the fascination with making Mel out to be this omnipresent seductress that Jayce was utterly powerless againt? Why are we acting like Jayce isn't a grown ass adult that can make his own choices? This need to infantalize Jayce, while simultaneously describing Mel as an aggressive manipulator.........please. Turn your minds to common sense.
The worst ones I've seen basically insinuate that Mel SA'd Jayce because.......she kissed him first and he took a moment to reciprocate (almost as if he was surprised that a girl he had an interest in for a while seemed to feel the same way). I'm not saying it's giving misogynoir or racism,but........just note that it's only Mel getting demonized in this equation. Not even Sky got dragged this hard in season 1 and she clearly had a thing for Viktor.
HUH??????? The rancid takes really never cease, this is why I don't leave my bubble. First of all, Jayce has been whipped for Mel since he saw her in the hall. It was love at first sight for that man. He was not slick about his attraction to her, and even Viktor peeped it..... Mel NEVER took away Jayce's agency, he always made his own choices. Yes she encouraged him, molded him, and mentored him, but she respected his choices and never FORCED him to do anything. Everything that Mel and Jayce did was out of love for Piltover and love for each other.
But you know who was omnipresent and directed the path of Jayce's life, taking away his agency so that he was eventually powerless against him??? Hmmm? Can we give a very wild guess?

Disclaimer: I do not condone in anything disturbing nor inappropriate with any of the subject matter involved. I also do not condone in any trolling either.
"White Spy is the Snow White of Spy vs. Spy," White is pure and wholesome," and blah blah blah...
You've got to be kidding! I'm sorry, but if you think and even headcanon that White Spy is pure and wholesome and even portray him as a hero all the time while treating Black like he's a spawn of Satan, then you're living in a fart bubble! Just because White is great with animals, especially dogs, does not mean that he's a "good boy," and I have proof of why every single claim about White Spy being "angelic" is all a bunch of bullcrap:

Plus, there's this part when he threatens the plastic surgeon into making a clone of himself just before that one graphically violent scene that I exposed back in late-January or early-February:

Then there's this scene where he thinks this random old lady is Black in disguise and tries to attack her, only for the old lady to kick his ass:

In my honest opinion, White deserved it. In another paperback strip he forces a Black Embassy geisha at gunpoint to have a clam form a pearl around a bugged microphone. It is from a paperback that I don't have a physical copy of as of yet, but that one is from "The Fourth Declassified Files of Spy vs. Spy," which was later reprinted as "Missions of Madness," I think. Once I have saved up enough, I'll be looking forward to buying it off of Amazon just like I did with my only paperback (as of now), "Masters of Mayhem," back in January. Also, there was a strip called "Operation: Altered Ego," from the paperback "The Third Dossier of Spy vs. Spy," where White plays a really cruel (and very disturbing) prank on Black after the former read "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." This results in Black turning into a Mr. Hyde version of himself and ends up being taken to the nut house, all thanks to White using his love for literature to his own advantage despite that it has been used against him on other multiple occasions. That incident is proof that White has set up harsher, more callous, and disturbing traps for Black, and I am not surprised as I am beyond positive that this obviously isn't the only time he has pulled even more callous pranks on Black; remember what he did in "Operation: Maid of Steel" (which was made into animated short towards the end of the first season of MADtv 23-24 years later) from the same paperback?
Anyway, this is my point and I am dead serious: stop calling White Spy wholesome, pure, and good because I have evidence that proves otherwise! He may be great with animals (*cough**cough*Operation: Operation*cough**cough*) and can be a softy deep down inside, which shows that he does have standards, but that does not mean he is pure and wholesome!
No, I am not defending Black Spy either. Though I am sure he probably has standards as well, and might be a softy deep down inside, too. I mean, according to the wiki (which may not be 100% valid, of course, though), Black has been shown to be empathetic towards civilians, which is something White usually exploits at any given opportunity. Not to mention that Black also seems to be great with children, apparently. To anybody who loves antagonizing Black Spy, when you say you love White Spy better yet have tons of artwork torturing Black nonstop more than artwork of White, you are openly proving that you're a hypocrite, so why don't y'all do a lot of us this favor: cut the crap and leave Black alone!
This post was not meant to antagonize White Spy; this post was meant to expose him. Neither spy is good nor evil because the comics were not supposed to have the good vs. evil element; they were intended to represent that war is worthless. Both Black Spy and White Spy were meant to be equally sadistic, psychotic, and callous towards each other. Don't get me wrong. I mean, I love both Black Spy and White Spy equally because I think they're both simultaneously adorable and insane at the same time. Either way, I am sick and tired of people portraying one spy as good and the other as evil. I mean, this whole "white is good" and "black is evil" misconception and stereotype is nothing but a bunch of stupid crap. Seriously, this whole good vs. evil element headcanon in the Spy vs. Spy fandom gets on my nerves and it needs to end NOW.
I do not claim ownership of any content. Spy vs. Spy belongs to the defunct MAD Magazine and the late, great Antonio Prohías.

Controversial take though it may be, wasn't like... Toshiro right in the end to be worried about Marcille's usage of black magic?? He was worried it would put the woman he loves and others he cares for in danger. And like. Yeah. It did put Falin in catastrophic danger. It did set the Western elves off to investigate the party for what happened. Marcille wasn't entirely just for her actions. Both what Marcille and Toshiro were doing was done out of love, but both are extremist in their respective ways.
(Also, Marcille is similar to Toshiro in vying for an 'idea' of Falin. Moreso, the Falin she went to school with. The Falin she can care for and dote over. Weren't a lot of their interactions post-resurrection essentially Marcille harking back to their school days? Recalling old times like sleeping in the same bed together? Laios isn't exempt from this either. Everyone has their own idealised view of Falin. Honestly, the only person I could argue doesn't have any such view is Chilchuck, who, if I recall correctly, accurately describes her as "the girl who can't say no". Falin pleases and pleases and tries to appease everyone's ideal of her, not just Toshiro.)
((And, for the record, saying this as someone who adores Farcille as a ship, as well as someone who finds Marcille especially relatable. That being said I don't appreciate the slander Toshiro goes through in the process to put the ship on a pedestal, because it isn't entirely perfect either! Devotion can be all consuming and selfish sometimes! Laios even says this to Marcille's face that her devotion has become selfish!! Trust I have been there!!!))

small confession: the way this fandom constantly fights over the whole Jake 'evil alter' thing makes me not want to do much with the character in fanart/fanfic. And I'm talking about the real vicious 'you're a terrible person if you do this in error' people, not the 'Hey Jake's actually a sweetheart in the comics.' people. I was browsing through some fanart (I don't think it was on here, I think it was another platform but I don't remember) and came across where someone had made a kind of vampire-monster type au for MCU Moon Knight and they did Vampire doodles of the moon boys - giving them red eyes.. like all of them they all had red eyes.. because they're vampires.. it was very clearly meant as a silly thing just for fun..
And of course people were fighting over the 'Jake+Red Eyes='Evil Alter'.' thing in the comments...
Now, I'm absolutely not going to get involved with that argument, I don't really do fandom arguments, but like..guys- can we maybe not act like assholes in the comments of someone having fun and then act surprised when people are worried about how they portray a character? And the thing is, the comics people don't seem to do this whole 'acting like someone is a horrible person for making one mistake' when it comes to the Jake thing. All the comic people I've seen are usually just like 'Yeah op Jake is actually a sweetheart but I get that the way the show showed him can make you come to this conclusion'. Idk. I've spent all day horribly stressed and anxious because.. well I'm an American do with that what you will.. and started thinking about this an it just irked me.
(now, of course, when I do do stuff with Jake, I try my best to scew more towards the 'Chaos Uncle Vibes' for him, and when I have made mistakes with his characterization I've been lucky enough to have it caught by the the 'hey you made an error but I get why you did' people, but this still bothers me and the worst part is I really do want to put Jake into stuff, it's just hard when you're constantly worried about getting yelled at.)
