watched the kdrama celebrity over the last few days. was hooked from the first few seconds bc the EDITING in the show, & just the cinematography in general is on a whole nother fuckin level, man.

also, just. a really great show in general. v good at building suspense & throwing loops & very nice themes/takeaways. also just a rly interesting way to convey those themes/takeaways.

i think the only issue we had w it was the romance, but. eh. it wasn't so bad that it took away from the ample amount of good shit in the show.

How do you feel about the fact that you thought your reverse beauty and the beast post wouldn't even get 500 notes and yet it got 50,000? 🤔

Does anyone truly believe a poster when they say "awww man this won't get any notes"? Like, it's fishing. It's throwing down the gauntlet. It's daring Tumblr to come "prove them wrong".

I knew this post was a banger. It's about biting people on the bites you bites you bites you website. A lot of what the Tales crew do is wonderfully unhinged but I think my absolute favourite example of it has to go to when Fiona confronts Vallory in episode 5.

To put it into perspective there is a rampaging vault monster in the middle of a dust storm. Helios had just fallen and Fiona had to crash down to Pandora in an escape pod and is now completely alone with no backup, fully believing Sasha to be dead. Vallory has a rocket launcher and is firing repeatedly at Gortys in an attempt to destroy her to get rid of the Traveller before it kills everyone.

And what does Fiona do? Fiona who bear in mind was shot through the hand while up on Helios, Fiona who is armed with one tiny sleeve pistol while Vallory has a literal rocket launcher, Fiona who is quite literally having the worst day of her life.

Well she kicks Vallory in the head and holds her at gunpoint of course!

Completely ignores the giant alien monster, she just takes a running start and launches herself off of Vallory's own rocket launcher and kicks her in the head, pulls out her tiny little derringer and points it at the woman who is wielding literal explosives, and just doesn't even care about the fact she's right next to a raging vault monster.

Some days ago you mentioned you hate x reader stories that are clearly x OC. BRO ME TOO because I literally JUST saw a post on a blog that tagged their OC facts post as character x reader. Another peeve is when it’s an x reader where no description is used for reader but then the readers family all have names and other specific physical descriptions. Well I’ll be damned, I gotta give it to WIT they COOKED today with the story and the production values. We FINALLY get the real deal with the queen and some amazing fight scenes. You knew this was gonna be a banger when they skipped the OP 🔥

To the surprise of no one we find out the queen is not actually the queen, but an evil demon who was thought to be defeated in the past. While the reveal wasn’t shocking, I did feel bad for the princess in that whole scene up until Cecil saved her. When was the last time she talked to her actual mom? Was that even her in the flashbacks when she’d sneak out to the commoner areas and get lectured? Her whole world came caving in around her, no wonder she had a mini breakdown and became this world’s Harley lol.

I knew they didn’t make her look like Harley for nothing! Loved the scene of her changing into the Harley makeup. Beating up the mind controlled noble and going full blown Gotham city, cursing up a storm and being a badass. For someone that’s been so caged up all these years, she’s a great leader

Harley’s influence is truly unmatched. She doesn’t even know how big an inspiration she’s been to Fionne. Seeing someone live so free must’ve resonated a lot with the princess!

The second half of the episode was so damn good man. The king shark and killer croc fights as well as Harley v enchantress looked amazing, and it’s fitting they bring back Arty the dragon for the best looking episode. He and his mom got shafted in that ep a few weeks ago which looked so cheap. And what’re they feeding these dragons over there to make him grow that fast so quickly 😂

But the twists aren’t done! What’s going on with enchantress? And how are they gonna deal with the demon, Waller and everything else in this finale? Really don’t want this to end man I hope we get more dc anime stuff after this.

He fancies himself a freelance reporter/photographer... or does he? ---- And that's one of the charms/strongest points about ACCA 13: Some things/people are not always what they seem, and it's always good to keep your eyes and ears peeled to find your way around life, a philosophy often espoused by the other "secret" main character in this shindig, ACCA Director-General Mauve...

(Speaking of sheer charisma, swagger and handsomeness/beauty) ---- Voiced by the late Atsuko Tanaka in Japanese and Rachel Robinson in English, Mauve is a character who recognizes that not all that seems well is actually well, but she also strives in making sure things end up going well, which is how she gets the ball rolling in our story. ---- Natsume Ono, like many other idiosyncratic writers, likes to stick to certain themes and narrative devices, and ACCA 13 is no different in this regard. What is also true is that you'll always get something really special with her, since she often likes to address different topics and circumstances of people. And while many characters come and go in this series, they're all pretty memorable...

This is a series that, in my opinion, you cannot go wrong with either the original Japanese, the localization of the dub or even the original manga. 12 episodes/6 volumes that are a sheer joy from beginning to end and a cast that delivers in spades. Fantastic music, storyboards, cinematography and outstanding performances regardless of which language preference you may have. ---- Shingo Natsume & Tomohiro Suzuki (the director and head of the writers' room for this) were coming out of a hot streak that came from working on Space Dandy and the first season of One Punch Man and you can tell that they're firing on all cylinders with this incredible adaptation. ---- Again, there's a reason I really like this show and put it on my "all time faves" list, even if I admit that I have cooled off considerably wrt Re:Zero and Free!, so maybe I need to update that list, but I pretty much stand for everything else, including this absolute jewel. Anyway, enjoy yourselves and I'll read you on the next one!

The strikes

Also: some indie projects, including two films at A24, will be allowed to go ahead because they're willing to meet SAG-AFTRA's demands. Bonus: The agreement undermines the big studios' claims that they just can't possibly afford to cooperate.

The possible subtext of the studios' resistance: "Either the studios owe untold millions to their talents and paying it out will decimate their stock prices, or they owe so little because there really is no money in streaming and the bubble of their entire 21st century business model will burst in spectacular fashion."

Tree Law did not come through for us this time.
