#i don't consider his present-canon actions as much as i probably should#he becomes much more of a cartoon supervillain over the course of that episode#but i think the thing that made me want to rp chaz#really does come down to his choice to leave mox#i'm not going to justify that choice or woobify him. mox trusted him and chaz abandoned him#chaz is not and has never been a good person#but i think it is... dare i say#relatable?#to have a character that--for an instant; for a flicker of a moment--felt the instinct to do the right thing#but couldn't put his own cowardice and self-interest aside to do it#by the time we get around to present canon i think chaz has told himself no end of stories#that justify what he did to himself.#because he is chronically incapable of serious self-reflection of his failings#gotta tell yourself something to be able to sleep at night#and after all those years those stories become your perception. sure you left him behind *but*#'he got out of jail anyway so it's fine!'#'it's better one person get caught and we still have the money than both of us get caught and have nothing right?'#'he probably wouldn't have gone back for you either' (this is the one he knows is False but tries not to think about it)#there's a selfishness at his core that makes him *interesting*#if not necessarily likable#anyway those are my Chaz Thoughts for today lol#[ooc] spacy speaks
