#no but actually#heathcliff's plan for revenge involving the next generation#he wanted linton to be a mini version of him#he couldn't see past hareton being a mini version of hindley#and even cathy ii was meant to be a carbon copy of her mother#but heredity DIDN'T determine everyone's fate#heathcliff being so hellbent on bloodlines dictating the outcome was his undoing#it was in a weird way more like a reincarnation than anything#where the next generation undo the mistakes of the previous one#hareton is very much the second heathcliff#linton turns out more like hindley than anything#cathy is *sort of* like her mom but corrects her mother's mistake#but cathy's ghost is still haunting the heights so cathy ii really isn't just her mother's reincarnation#idk. i don't know anything about buddhism i'm just going insane over the new heath ego#and it's opened up the door now to consider WH involving samsara
