i think taash could be really good if everything about them was different
#bastard.txt#dragon age#like. idk i'm never gonna not like a nonbinary character but it feels really off#the writing understands that gender is a muddy puddle we're jumping around in#but asserts that if you're raised in multiple cultures you have to Pick One#and they're written like a character going through a “coming out as nonbinary” arc rather than like a person figuring themselves out#and i hate to agree with gamers but modern terminology and therapy speak in high fantasy is. idk its not good#and of course there's the age old problem of the nonbinary person being very visibly inhuman#at the core of it it's like. they're a Nonbinary Character rather than a character who is nonbinary#and it ripples out into really weird forms of racism and misogyny
