I've honestly always wondered if it's tied to Ezekiel. Like the year of his birth or his death or something. Since the passcode doesn't exist in the book, only the show, I wondered if they were intending to go more into who Ezekiel was and explore more the really creepy hold he had on Marissa from a young age and for a long, long time. Like maybe this is the way her enthrallment manifested, she kept subconsciously or intentionally putting info about him everywhere in her life. Also, in the book it's just implied he's very old but his age is not specified I don't think, maybe the show intended to make him Victorian, like Skull, to highlight the parallels and differences between Lucy/Skull and Marissa/Ezekiel relationships more? Idk.
why is the code to the black library 1888. what is the significance please i have been trying to come up with something since my second watch
#lockwood and co#lockwood & co#here i am running down that hill of fan theories based on absolutely minimum of canon like wheeeeeeee#someone stop me lol#but also you can't make the joplin and George thing much creepier than it was in the book and not have it echo is some other way right??#Ezekiel basically enthralled and isolated Marissa early on#that's pretty much cannon#and in the show “Penelope” slips up woth Lucy and vaguely alludes to Marissa's relationship with Tom Rotwell falling apart#it made it seem like the show had plans to go into that#maybe#i guess we'll never know now will we NETFLIX!?#you're on my permanent shit list Netflix!
