edwin being the only white boy in his friend group is something that we don't explore enough

especially because he is not just a white boy, he is the whitest possible white boy, the quintessential white boy born in england still mostly at the height of the british empire went to a fancy all boys boarding school

#ara rambles #i mean this mostly in a funny way of like. edwin actually getting to try food with flavor that also didnt involve war rationing #but also like. i imagine edwardian racism is just a whole other level of racism than what we're used to #he could be like the opposite of those weird white people who wanna call you a slur but dont know anything about your country #so they have to google it and end up using words that literally no one has used in 200 years #so its just really stupid and funny #edwin is the opposite of that #he would never call you a slur and he is not being racist but slurs were the only word in his time #but its also a word that fell out of fashion 100 years ago and now everyone just ends up confused on what is happening #i feel like this is gonna be taken the wrong way i adore edwin #i just also wanna lovingly poke fun at his whiteness
