maybe the nearby power plant has undergone improvements in how its run and now the area surrounding the jones farm is a hotspot for clean and renewable energy, perhaps a hydro dam has been built on the site instead. or maybe the surviving creatures from sons of the silent age have reclaimed the river and it is now a protected conservation spot

equally funny would be if darius embellishes it to cody as a cared for world heritage site but the turtles Smell A Rat (not splinter). turns out the farm has secretly been bought out by darius who has turned it into a tourist trap airbnb that he charges extortionate prices for. the turtles and cody find out, make a booking under false names and when they show up they find out the place is barely up to code and donatello threatens to take him to small claims court if he doesn't use the earnings he's made to properly restore the farm without sacrificing its historical features
