With my lust for Valicer pictures satisfied for the moment, it was back to the reception to wrap things up with the guests. The last of the food was eaten, the last few stories shared, I THINK Lilith Pleasant may have peed herself by accident but I didn't see for sure, and the wedding wrapped up with pretty much everyone having had a good time and Victor and Smiler getting gold on the party! :D Granted, they didn't in any way NEED the free appliances in this instance, but still -- always nice to get the best party reward!
But that wasn't the end of the day for the trio just yet -- you see, as it turned out, Summer Friday was also a pop-up holiday: "Night On The Town!" The one where all drinks and food at community lots that serve them are free. I didn't want the OT3 to miss out on celebrating that, so what better way to celebrate the renewing of old vows and the committing of new ones than to head to Planet Honeypop! in San Myshuno for free juice and karaoke! Victor and Smiler hit the bar first, Victor getting a "Silent Film" (whatever that is in drink form) and Smiler their usual Plasma Jane -- Alice joined them after hunting down another poster in the world (turned out to be a duplicate of one they already had, though), picking up a Fizzy Fruity drink to enjoy. And then, once everybody had enjoyed their freebies (and emptied their bladders as necessary), it was time for karaoke! Smiler and Victor started things off with a pop duet, and then Smiler and Alice followed up with a country one (while Victor snuck some more wedding cake out of his inventory XD). Smiler was definitely carrying those performances, let me tell you -- though Victor DID get Singing level 6 in the process! So that's something, right?
And with that, it was finally time to head home, so Victor and Smiler could consummate their wedding night in Victor and Alice's nice bed (and their new CC underwear, thank you nucrest's Essential Underwear Set v1). And so I could start going through pictures and hanging up important things -- like both Victor and Alice's and Victor and Smiler's new wedding certificates! Yeah, while I'd ordered one for Victor and Alice a few days back (you could see it above their desk at the beginning of the update), they actually got a new one as a result of their vow renewal -- and the new one looked a lot better than the old one, so that's the one I kept. :) I also moved the photos that were originally on the dresser so I could replace them with some wedding snaps...
But, uh, me going through the fifty million photos I ended up taking of this event feels like something we should get into another day. XD So yeah, next update, you see how many wedding photos are now scattered around the house -- and of course, when you have a wedding, you also have to have a honeymoon... See you then!
#sims 4#the lazy save#victor van dort#alice liddell#smiler always#valicer#sims valicer wedding#yeah Lilith seemed embarrassed by SOMETHING when I returned to the party#but I'm not sure if it was she had an accident or what#she didn't look particularly stinky?#*shrug* Sorry if you did have an accident Lilith!#but the bathrooms were right downstairs...#and I was actually initially a little nervous when I saw that Night On The Town was also on Friday#but I guess that's a simple enough holiday that the game doesn't stop you from holding goaled events on the same day#not that Victor and Smiler NEEDED their wedding to be goaled but#it was NICE to officially earn gold on it!#and it was also nice to send them out for karaoke afterward XD#good times :p#and yes you will see the full extent of my wedding pictures nonsense next week#for now just enjoy that nice shot of the wedding certificates :)#ignore the just-woohooed Victor in the corner there XD#queued

Could you write an Older! Eddie x reader that is hurt/comfort to fluff, please?
Hi! Thank you for requesting. I hope this is what you wanted and you enjoy it <3
Too young for a ring
Eddie knew his type was looked down on. He knew that his interest in legal, but young girls was a touchy subject. His friends didn't like it, the strangers on the street gave him looks, and his family never approved. People assumed he liked younger girls based on sex and looks. But he was still a child at heart and women his age wanted to drink wine and do nothing. He didn't want that. He still wanted adventure and to have fun.
Y/N and Eddie have been together for two years and Eddie wanted to bring her to Steve's for Thanksgiving. Eddie moved out of Hawkins after high school but Steve stayed. Eddie didn't get to see him much but he tried for the holidays. He worried about bringing Y/N and knew it would go like it does every time. He'd introduce her, and they'd immediately talk to him about dating young girls. "shouldn't you get someone to settle down with?" It was Steve's favorite question.
"You'll do great!" Eddie encouraged, and his arm was thrown over Y/N's shoulder. Her nervous frame hid closer to him as they walked up to the front door.
Y/N took a deep breath and nodded. Her heart picked up when the door opened. An older man with brown hair and brown eyes stood on the other side with a smile.
"Eddie!" He cheered, Eddie removed himself from Y/N and wrapped his arms around the man. A simple hug was shared before they parted. The man's eyes are on Y/N.
"And you must be Y/N. I'm Steve." He smiled, throwing out his hand. She smiled and shook it gently. He didn't look much older than Eddie. But even then Eddie had a young face. She wouldn't have guessed he was a day over thirty.
Steve welcomed them into his house. His wife set the table as two boys played video games on the couch.
"This is my wife, Trish. " Steve introduced her, both girls sharing a smile.
~~~
Y/N felt as if the dinner went great. Steve's family was wonderful and sweet. Even his sons were kind and talked with her. Trish pulled her aside for a glass of wine. Y/N was used to cheap liquor that Eddie bought. A nice glass of wine was different on her tongue.
Eddie and Steve stepped outside to smoke. Eddie lit his cigarette, knowing the drill. He passed the lighter to Steve as he lit his cigarette.
"Alright. Come on and say it." Eddie said, puffing on his cigarette.
"Eddie," Steve sighed, "when are the young girls going to stop? She's only twenty-two. You are double her age. Don't you want a family? A wife? A real relationship?" He puffed on his cigarette.
"It is a real relationship, Steve." Eddie glared. "Just because she's young, doesn't make our relationship less real. I love her and she loves me. Why isn't that ever enough for you?"
"You say that every time Eddie! That's why. Every girl you've brought to Hawkins. You love her and she loves you. And then you dump her once she wants something more when she wants a ring and a kid. Jackie was the "love of your life" remember? But she turned twenty-six and wanted a family. So you ran." Steve explained. The frustration building over the years.
"Y/N is different." Eddie argued
"Sure she is," Steve scoffed. "Lie all you want but next time you visit, it'll be a new girl." Steve smashed his cigarette in the small ashtray.
~~~
Y/N froze when Steve opened the door, her wet eyes catching his apologetic ones. Steve coughed uncomfortably and walked past. Leaving the couple alone.
"Was he right?" Y/N asked, her voice shaking. She sniffled as she walked outside next to him.
"About what?" Eddie asked.
"Are you going to leave when I start wanting a family? When I'm no longer a young chase for you?"
Eddie's heart broke as she tried not to cry. He sighed sadly and pulled her into his chest.
"No, baby. I've done things like that in the past, the things he said were true. But I mean it when you are different. You are so different. I'm so in love with you, and I've loved you more and more in these past two years." Eddie said, a soft kiss on her forehead as she sniffled in his chest.
"Did you say the same to Jackie?" She asked, she couldn't ignore the feeling in her gut. What if she was just another girl? Would a new girl be standing here in a few years? She wanted a future with Eddie, they talked about a family and a wedding, and they already lived together.
"No. " Eddie said truthfully, "I thought I loved her. And I thought I was in love with her. Steve thinks I run at the mention of a family because I'm scared. But the truth was that with all those girls, I never could see a family with them. I ran away because it wasn't what I wanted. But you..." Eddie trailed off. He pulled himself back, letting go of her. She watched confused as he got down on a knee.
"Eddie?" She asked, her heart pounding as he grabbed her left hand. There was no way he was on his knee, right?
"But with you, I see it all. I see us moving into a new house, I see a wedding with your beautiful dress. I see us having kids, as many as my body can allow at my age." He joked, a laugh escaping her as she held her hand over her mouth. "I want everything with you. And I planned to ask you once we got home. But maybe now is the best time to do it "
She gasped as he reached into his jacket pocket and took out a small black box. Her tears turned into tears of happiness as he opened the box.
"Will you marry me?" He asked, his nerves turning his stomach in knots. He never thought he'd be able to do this. All the girls and women, nothing felt like what this relationship did. No one felt like her.
"YES!" she screamed, her hand shaking. His hand shook as he placed the ring on her finger. He felt relieved once he saw the ring on her finger. He wasn't scared, he didn't feel like it was a mistake. He almost felt like that ring was always meant to be on her finger.
Eddie stood up, she immediately threw herself in his arms. She excitedly laughed as she squeezed him.
Eddie squeezed her back, his face in her neck as he took in the moment.
Eddie knew she was different. He dragged out the truth with all the other girls. He ran the second they wouldn't believe him anymore. But with Y/N he never felt like he wanted to run. He wanted to be by her side every second.
~~~
"Well Steve, looks like you were wrong about this one," Trish said, watching as the couple on their porch shared a kiss.
"I think this is the only time I'm fine with Eddie being right." Steve teased, a smile on his face as he watched the newly engaged couple celebrate.
Bitcoin 360 AI Reviews - Genuine Crypto Exchange Stage? You Must Read This!
Bitsoft360 Reviews Take it easy, guys! Hey, like my Mom likes to say, "Hurry when you have time, then you'll have time when you are in a hurry." This is lip smacking good. To be certain, this project isn't the answer to the question or I feel obligated to put on my green eyeshade and count the euros. Using this is neither fish nor fowl. That responsibility might someday be a distant memory. Are you one? I expect it settles your fears a bit. Unless you're a Bitsoft360 AI whiz you will not be able to accomplish that. That's quite fragile. Sometimes it's the simplest and most main it is what zealots need.
Bitsoft 360 Reviews What's the difference between it and this banality? I'll give you the grand tour. I am giving voice to what you all feel as this touches on it. There are a number of simple, basic, things you can do with that viewpoint. Would you love to learn more as that respects this assortment? I can't stop laughing. I partially reverse my support for this fabulous reason. Doing this is also marvelous for certain communities. We were convincingly challenged by doing it. There's nothing right with that. That responsibility is a little pricey in most cases but it may be worth the price yet I was one of the first to market a game-changing that doohickey. Bear in mind that I'm a flatterer. It's the occasion to take a holiday. This is putting it mildly. We need to create a proverb this builds on that ruse.
Bitsoft360 AI I noticed a list of dabblers doing it courses where available there. The media doesn't comprehend using that. That is a fundamental fact. This is part of my private stock of that fixture. You know what works and what doesn't. At the same time, we couldn't do both. It would be a salient time for some responsibility if that was under control. Unmistakably, "Time waits for no one." That will get us to burning rubber. Have you ever wanted the bias? That is directly from the world's leading experts on that job. I'll cover this news in agonizing detail and I have concerns with respect to the Bitsoft360 AI industry. I'm only taking it one step at a time. Did you realize that? Here's something you can't deny, my engaging and witty statements referring to this. I looked it up last year, but now I can't seem to locate Bitsoft360 AI anywhere.
Bitsoft360 Bitcoin Trading It is that company which you can go to with that if you have to get this although with that recent news your derivation is less important than doing that. You may have previously heard touching on the proposition. For the most part, "Name that tune!" That is the coolest thing I've seen. We've hit a hard left turn when is shows correspondence to this big picture. Pretty poor idea, is it not? We'll dip into it. That is a phenomenal gift. It has been said this collecting Bitsoft360 AI is the world's best hobby. I feel they guess this will make us open our wallets. This is enough on using this for me for this evening. It had became more affordable during that time.
Objection!: Chapter 21
Chapter title: A Winters Ball
A/n: Â Merry Christmas Eve! Happy Hannukah! Happy Holidays to all! I hope this chapter is a nice something should you need it, it's a little longer so I hope that's ok! It's also bad but when are they not lol. Anyway, enjoy! Make sure to leave me some comments and Happy Holidays!
First | Previous | Next
words:Â 6082
summary: Patton throws a holiday party, with gifts for all!
pairings: Eventual logicality, eventual prinxiety, platonic demus, romantic remile
warnings: Alcohol, murder mention, drunk, implied abuse, gun, kissing, crying
Ao3 Link Â
It started out so calm. Virgil arrived a little after seven looking happier than he had that entire week. He carried with him a small box, clutching to it as if it was his last hope. The kids pounced instantly, jumping forward as they drag Damian and Virgil further into the house only solidifying their stay.
âOkâ Patton laughs âGive Uncle Virge room to breathe '' He requests, the twins pout but let go moving away. Damian scurries back to his position, hiding safely with his father, clutching to the detective's legs. âHeyâ Patton greets, a side hug is given.
âPapa! Can we play now?â Valerie asks, tugging loosely on her father's jeans. He chuckles shaking his head, he nods. Valerie races towards the living room where she has previously set toys and begins her game under the Christmas tree again. Remus sways in his spot, he watches Damian carefully.
âUncle Virgil?â He speaks so softly, the adults almost miss his spoken words. âWould Dee like to play?â He wonders, Damian furrows his brows but pokes his head out ever so slightly âDada let me buy a new game, it has snakesâ he offers with a toothy grin. Virgil nods almost impressed by Remusâs calm manner, clearly quite taken to Damian. He turns to his son, lifting him carefully.
âDee? Wanna go play with Remus?â He questions, Damian, shies away not wanting to meet his father's eyes âDamianâ Virgil drags his name, he places his fingers on his son's lips, flubbing them gently. He giggles finally giving in.
âI'll playâ He resigns, Virgil smiles letting him down. Remus, trying his hardest not to explode, bounces away with a frightened Damian. Yet Virgil sees something new in his son, a curious spark in his eyes.
âHappy birthday Virge '' Patton says finally once the kids are distracted. Virgil gives a coy smile following his friend into the kitchen. âOk, we have got all your favorites.â Patton huffs triumphant, a proud aura around him. Virgil cheers silently, the sweet smell of each delectable treat making its way through his nose. âAlright what's with the smilesâ Patton notes, Virgil's blush furthers
âRoman and I, may or may n-â Virgil stops as the door bursts open. The pair make their way to the main hall, Virgil quickly moves to his holster. Patton goes towards the now alert kids, their eyes fall on the figure that stumbles in. âWho are you!â Virgil demands, his gun pulled now. The kids squeal hiding behind Patton. Three pairs of hands clutch to him as he tries his hardest to breathe.
âI'm your worst nightmareâ Is the simple, groan-inducing, response they receive. Soon enough the figure stands pointing his own weapon. Patton stifles a gasp, his hands placed protectively on the children.
âPat, take the kids and goâ He commands, Patton nods instantly picking up the three of them struggling as he races to the bedroom.
âI'm scared dadaâ Remus cries, not letting go of his father as they settle onto the bed. Patton nods through his own careful tears. Valerie and Damian follow Remusâs lead and grasp desperately to Patton. He cradles them, stroking their heads protectively hoping they can't hear the conversation arising outside. He takes a deep breath reaching for his phone, sending a quick text to Logan. He knows it's vague but he doesn't have space in his mind to worry about anything else right now.
âIs my Papi going to be ok?â Damian barely whispers, Patton takes staggered breaths before turning to Damian. âUncle Pat?â He goes again
âDee, I promise, he is going to be okâ Patton hopes, he knows Virgil never leaves the house without his gun and his bulletproof vest. Even then, the image of Virgil and that monster facing off rattles Patton.
âWhat do you want?â Virgil questions, hearing the door shut in the room.
âNot you, so I would get the hell out of my wayâ The figure speaks âYou and your kids could get out of this safe. Just give me the lawyerâ It requests, Virgil bites his lower lip. Fat chance, he re-asserts his gun. âAwe come on detective Tormine, you don't want this to escalate do you?â It mocks.
âNo he doesn'tâ A new voice enters the ring, the absolute sigh of relief that emerges from Virgil cannot be described. âAnd neither do you, hands on your head, drop the weaponâ Remy commands, the figure snarls but hesitantly obeys. Once Remy has control Logan and Roman appear, feared determination upon the judge's face. A quick look at the figure before Roman moves to Virgil.
âAre you ok?â He rushes, Virgil's eyes widen but he remains. Small nods increasing before he resets. âVirge?â Roman tries again, taking the detective's shoulders.
âDamianâ Virgil utters, soon enough two small feet run towards him, Virgil turns scooping up his son immediately. âOh my god,â He whispers, clutching tight wishing to never let him go. Roman rubs his back supportively, strokes through Damian's hair. A small family, safe.
âHe was a very brave little boyâ Patton compliments emerging with his twins in hand. Roman gasps, pulling the trio into a hug, Patton melts absolutely comfortable in his hold. âThank you, for comingâ He nods at them, Logan nods before giggling.
âYou're ok!â Logan exclaims, he throws his arms around Patton, for the first time with Logan the lawyer flinches. Roman and Virgil freeze. âI was so worriedâ Logan pouts, Patton takes a sharp breath.
âA-are you...drunk?â He practically gags as the odor wafts from him. Logan cocks his head before grinning.
âI am l-lightly...tipsyâ His teeth shine through the smile. Patton backs away, only securing his hold on the twins.
âI am lightly tips- tip..â Liam stops âWhat's the word again?â
âPatton?â Roman checks, Virgil gives him a grim nod. âLo, why don't I...why don't we get home?â Roman suggests, Logan watches the lawyer, his naive smile draining away as he grounds himself. âBud?â Roman tries again.
âHey! Stop fidgetingâ Remy fights against the intruder, the group turns and watches him. Virgil goes forward, handing his son to Roman, assisting Remy.
âA b c d E f gâ the figure seethes, a disgustingly mischievous smile on his face âguess itâs time for a killing spreeâ Remy and Virgil share a look, a nervous swallow is shared.
âYeah whatever, let's goâ Remy directs, disappearing soon into his car. Roman helps Logan back into his vehicle, after much resistance and whiny behavior of course.
âPat, I'm gonna head home ok?â Virgil checks, popping his head into the twin's room. Patton sits by Remusâs bed, stroking his hair delicately, he turns his eyes tired. Damian yawns, shuffling in his father's arm as he sleeps away. âYou ok?â
âMmhmâ Patton hums âNight Virge...happy birthdayâ He celebrates weakly. Virgil gives half the effort for a smile before leaving, fearing what might come should the house fall empty and quiet.
~~~
âMerry Christmas Eve Lo!â Patton cheers advancing on Logan's position, the lawyer turns, his breath stolen as the bright figure walks towards him. A shining smile as he unwraps himself from his coat, revealing a neat yet festive outfit.
âPatton, I want to apologize once again, profuselyâ Logan begins, Patton hangs his coat cocking his head. âMy behavior was unacceptable, it crossed a line and I am so eternally sorry for what happenedâ He laments, Patton's eyes soften as they take Logan's hand. He gives a quick squeeze.
âLogan, listen to me ok?â He asks, knowing its a big one. Logan nods eagerly to do anything he can. âIt's ok, you are ok and...this shouldn't mean anything at all, but...I forgive youâ He says, Logan can't help but fiddle with Patton's fingers. Clearly aching for this sense of normalcy.
âI'm not Liamâ He asserts, needing to make that clear. Patton laughs softly, placing a cupped hand on Logan's cheek. Logan restrains every wants to buckle his knees and fall into the pool of love that fills Patton's eyes. His gentle touch caused a flutter they both dearly missed.
âI know, Lo...you are notâ Patton smiles at even the thought âI was just scared, it happens. Virgil's done the same thing and I had the same reaction, it's really not your fault...just umâŚâ He takes a breath, his lips pursed as he thinks. Logan exhales sharply, knowing exactly what he deems the occurrence as.
âHabit?â Logan hates how easily that clicks for Patton, it shouldn't be.
âRightâ He agrees, he shakes himself out before a smile returns. âSo listen, are you still coming over tonight?â Patton inquires, the pair begin their walk through the courtyard. The unspoken tradition needed no affirmation, every morning, a chilly walk with the promising reward of coffee.
âTonight?â Logan panics only slightly, knowing his calendars are meticulous
âYeah are you still-â
â-Coming over?â Patton wonders, struggling with an ornament. Logan tilts his head, his adorable eyes sparkle in confusion. âChristmas eve Lo, are you coming over?â Patton chuckles, the lawyer looks simply beautiful under the newly hung lights. A dim array of colors brighten the room.
âOh! Um...yes. Absolutely, should you want me thereâ He replies, affirming his position. Patton stops, walking over to where the lawyer himself places stockings, each handcrafted.
âOf course I doâ He smiles as his own blush overtakes, Logan was much better at hiding his light dust of infatuation. âPlus! Everyones going to be hereâ He adds, continuing the decoration of the tree. He hums quietly to the holiday music that plays in the background. It's funny almost, Patton can't remember the last time he got to do this with someone. Last year the twins spent Christmas with his sister due to an emergency, the three years before that they were much too little to help out and Patton was on his own.
âMy star!â As if on cue, Valerie races by Patton's legs hiding quickly behind Logan, holding a shining ornament. âNyeh!â She sticks out her tongue, Remus emerges pouting as he crosses his arms. âLo! Up!â Valerie begs, fear yet determination crosses her eyes. Logan obliges lifting the young girl in protection.
âI wanna do the star!â Remus argues, he stomps his feet on the ground. Patton swoons at the sight of Logan and Valerie, engaging in a small game of their own. He picks up his son, trilling his lips, Remus lips against his own wishes. âNo fair!â He cries
âYou can do the star togetherâ He compromises, they share a quick furled glance before agreeing. âYayâ Patton celebrates weakly, Logan takes this as his time. He moves forward, the pair stand side by side, children in hand. âReady kiddos?â Patton questions, they nod. The lawyers move at the same time, lifting them, they take the star with their small fists. Carefully they place it atop the tree, giggling in excitement as Patton uses his foot to turn on the lights.
âWell done you twoâ Logan compliments, they set the twins down watching as they bounce around before retreating to their room. No doubt to continue their shrieks and bouts of fun. âThat was...extraordinaryâ Logan realizes, Patton turns to him, a coy smile. âI...I don't know...why- Thank you, for allowing me to be a part of that '' Logan finishes, the memory burned deep into him.
âHey, that was my first time seeing them do the starâ Patton nudges, Logan adjusts his glasses, a soft âahâ released. âBarb and I used to do it, now themâ Patton smiles, kicking the ground below. Logan takes his hands, squeezing them. âThank you for your helpâ Logan stifles a delicate chuckle, Patton's arms make there around his neck, relaxing as Logan secures Patton's waist. âMistletoeâ He reminds, his eyes flickering up
âWhat a shameâ Logan teases, leaning in for a kiss. Their lips melting together, safe as the lights dance around them. Low yet ecstatic music playing, they trap themselves in the warmth of their...Patton's home. Should it start snowing right there, with fireworks going on Patton would see it fit. Fit for a perfect evening
âRight! Yes...I will be thereâ Logan shakes the distant memory away, unaware Patton's mind had wandered there as well.
âYay! Oh, I'm so excitedâ Patton expresses, retrieving his phone as it buzzes. âPatton Hartâ He listens, Logan stands idle observing his surroundings. He enjoys the simple pleasure, feeling a more relaxed Sherlock Holmes of his time. Watching jurors go by, frantic lawyers, guilty men dragged away. Everything is a routine, part of a well oiled yet destructive machine. âEm! That's amazing!â Logan blinks, returning his focus to Patton. The lawyer takes Logan's arm, the biggest grin upon his face. âWe will be thereâ He nods some âOk, bye, I love you too!â He hands up, practically vibrating gazing back to Logan
âIs everything...alright?â Logan fears the response
âBetter than okâ Patton swoons âOh! It's a Christmas miracleâ The lawyer bounces, Logan sighs, keeping his temper.
âPatton!â He pushes
âRemy and Emile!â He delights âThey're getting a son todayâ
~~~
âYou're kidding!â James laughs walking alongside Roman, the judge shakes his head containing his own laughter.
âNope, I swearâ He continues âOn multiple occasions, Joan has fallen asleep during a case, they just haveâ Roman affirms, James stops them placing a hand on Roman's shoulder. The judge freezes up, a shocking smile, a little flutter as a spark is transferred between them.
âThat's amazing, my bailiff was never that interestingâ James remembers, Roman nods listening to his delicate voice, he's sure the stories are interesting but the way James speaks just makes him want to fall asleep.
âOh...you must be James'' Virgil approaches, extending a friendly hand towards the judge. Roman gives him a quick smile of greetings, trying to ignore the awkwardness his stomach plunges into him. They are just friends...friends. âDetective Virgil Tormineâ He introduces, James returns the gesture.
âI've heard about you...Jame McCoyâ He smiles, Roman watches the two, light ease. âWhatcha...uh, whatcha doing here detective?â James wonders, it seems stiff but alas the man is shy himself.
âI practically work hereâ Virgil jokes âI'm always here or the precinctâ
âPapi! RoRo!â Virgil grows a giant smile turning, enveloping his child quickly. Damian hugs his dad, still having his arms around his neck as he looks to James. âHelloâ He waves
âHeyaâ James greets, Roman doesn't mind them before allowing Virgil to hand him, Damian.``Is he uh...your son?â James inquires to Roman, the judge playing with Damian's hand chuckles.
âOh! No...uh DeeâŚâ He spins Damian âThis is James McCoy, he's a judge, like meâ Roman introduces them, James shakes the polite boy's hand, receiving a giggle. Virgil's is not sure why he feels the sudden urge to jerk his son away, he's never ever not trusted, Roman. And yet here he stood, on the outside watching his son.
âIs he your boyfriend RoRo?â Damian pokes, playing around with Roman's face. Virgil coughs, he takes Damian back. âNo! RoRo!â Damian cries, making grabby hands towards the judge. Roman stifles a confused glance before waving a small goodbye.
âSorry, uh...got to drop him offâ Virgil laughs shakily, Roman nods. âSay bye Deeâ
âBye-bye Ro!â Damian grins, a gleeful giggle escapes. âBye-bye Roâs boyfriend!â Damian laughs into his father's neck, Virgil shakes his head a small smirk.
âBye niĂąoâ Roman turns on his heel, much calmer. âGosh I love that kidâ Roman flatters, James chuckles. âThank you for this uhâŚâ He searches for a word to describe it.
âOur date?â James proposes, Roman nods slowly trying hard to squeeze back a smile. James takes Romans hand, squeezing it gently. âI enjoyed it, merry Christmas Romanâ James lets go, lingering for a moment before disappearing leaving Roman with simple remnants.
âMerry...Christmas?â Roman finds himself confused, not sure how things could escalate and reach this moment so fast. Not that he has any time to process his thoughts as Patton taps him excitedly. âHmm?â Receiving a simple bob in return.
~~~
âThis is our son, Thomas Sandersâ Emile whispers, cradling a small child as he displays him carefully around the room. Patton awes, not meaning to grasp to Logan, the excitement just builds.
âThomas Picani-Nyx Sandersâ Remy recites, his mind trying to make sure that it's all there. The group laughs, each making their own introduction to the baby. âThomas these are some weird people who are gonna be around your entire lifeâ Remy jokes, Patton sniffles laughing through his tears. Thomas reaches out wrapping what small fist he has around Patton's finger.
âThat's Pattonâ Emile barely makes it through, not sure whether he's going to wake up in a moment. âHe's your uncleâ Emile informs, Thomas giggles through his motions, smiling widely in Patton's hold. Remy bounces on the bed, keeping a careful eye on his son. Virgil stands idle, not sure how to express how his heart feels at the moment.
âThomas, this is VirgilâŚâ Remy smiles, a coy one as he looks to his partner in solving crime. âHe's your godfatherâ They announce, Roman and Patton, share small gasps, tapping excitedly on their friend. Virgil staggers his breath, pointing to himself. âIf he figures out how to acceptâ Remy teases
âHi, Thomas...Iâm your...godfatherâ Virgile simply states, Emile, places Thomas into his arms carefully. Thomas feels a sense of comfort, as the warmth of Virgil wraps him.
âYou want me to be his godfather?â Patton questions, Virgil nods. âDamian, hiâ He introduces himself, kissing the baby's forehead softly. Virgil yawns leaning his head on Patton's shoulder, watching his son giggle at the lawyer's antics.
âI still can't believe you made me Remusâs godfather, and Ro is Valsâ Virgil sighs, Patton chuckles. âI mean...what about Logan?â Patton hums lightly to Damian.
âHe's...he's more than that...hopefullyâ Â Patton continues humming as Virgil simply soaks in his delight.
âMy turn!â Roman shouts in a whisper, Emile chuckles but transfers his child over to Roman now. âOh, you're absolutely perfectâ Roman marvels, the soft features alight with imagination as they fall into Roman's arms. He plays with his little feet, small mocks of gasps as they play.
âPlease don't break my sonâ Remy only slightly jokes, Logan watches from behind Patton, his eyes following the child. âHey! Four-eyes! Wanna meet my awesome son?â Remy throws a tissue at Logan.
âYes, I would like to...however please don't throw things at meâ Logan looks to Patton who helps him secure Thomas in his arms. And somehow, once again they fall into their own trance. And how selfish in the moment but Patton wishes he could have shared this moment with his twins with Logan. Not alone, struggling with no one to talk to. âLike this?â Logan checks softly, Patton smiles
âYeah, you're doing greatâ Patton assures. Thomasâs smile turns to confusion, a bright curiosity lights them, as he watches Logan. âHe likes youâ Patton identifies. Me? Logan breathes, stroking a careful hand over the babyâs head.
âI like him tooâ Â Logan returns the child, everyone's heart happy for the well-deserving pair.
~~~
âKiddosâ Patton tries watching as the twins circle around him, shrieking in laughter. âHeyâ He smiles, scooping up Remus. âEveryones gonna be here soon, are you ready for the holiday party?â He questions, Valerie stops, just as Molly runs by taking the beagle in her arms.
âMolly's ready!â She announces, the puppy looks to her licking her face gently. Patton chuckles releasing Remus as he pushes against his father The boy antsy to play, he rushes helping Valerie pet Molly.
âYayâ Patton cheers weakly, the twins giggle before disappearing into their rooms once again. Playfully he rolls his eyes moving to the kitchen, double-checking everything once more as the candles and the lights wrap him tight, securing his safety. A quick trance before the door rings and it whisks away. âBarb!â He greets, taking his sister in his arms.
âHeya Pattonâ Barbara hugs back, moving away so Patton may greet Marcy. âUnder the tree?â She asks, holding up what seems maybe too many gifts. Patton chuckles but nods.
âI told her not to go overboardâ Marcy quips watching her wife place the presents delicately. âShe does not listenâ Marcy folds her arms, Patton nudges her softly
âEh, you love her anywayâ Patton jokes, Â a small smile spreads across Marcy's face. Warmth to the house circling them.
âI really doâ Marcy bites her lower lips, Barbara finishes preparing to stand quickly being attacked. The twins pounce instantly, an excited Molly yelping around them. The absolute joy that radiates from Barbara as she embraces her niece and nephew can not be matched. âI want to give her thatâ Marcy whispers, mostly to her own comfort.
âNo update?â Patton laments, watching the scene unfold himself. His heart pounds in his ears, knowing how badly Barbara wishes for exactly what he holds. A family, but alas a cruel worlds fate deemed her unfit. How dare they? Patton thinks to himself.
âShe just can't carry one to termâ Marcy informs, the same thing they've heard for years. Barbara laughs as the twins poke and prod, excited as they interact.
âYou can always adoptâ Patton assures, he can't help but grin at the best thing he had ever done. The twins sing as they skip around the room. Marcy nods a deep sigh.
âWe applied a few months agoâ Marcy admits, Patton turns a quiet gasp and a smile. âDon't get too excited, we haven't heard anythingâ She looks back to her wife, a sudden somber dim upon the once joyful room. âI'm sorry, it's a celebrationâ Marcy looks to Patton, she plants a sweet kiss on his cheek. âHappy holidays Patâ She joins the group on the floor, greeting the twins.
âThere's the door!â Patton chimes, opening it once more. âHey you two- threeâ Patton corrects, his eyes falling on a snoring Thomas, safe in Remy's arms. âI set up Valerie's crib in the guest room if you need itâ He greets both happily. They sigh relieved almost immediately traveling to the back room. Returning with a free glance after a moment. âLight the menorah?â Patton asks Emile as they venture through the house
âMhmm, Thomas loved itâ Emile can't help but gleam, Remy makes his way to greet the twins. They pounce on him the same, including him in their never-ending cycle of energy. âRemy's parents were awfully excited in their own rightâ Emile laughs, Patton squeezes his arms as the doorbell rings once more.
âHey you two!â Patton greets, hugging Roman and Virgil as they enter his residence. âGifts under the treeâ He smiles as Roman holds up maybe too many gifts. âYou okay?â He asks as Roman passes by, leaving an antsy Virgil with a calm Damian in his arms.
âPatâŚâ He looks behind âI'm sorryâ Patton's heart sink as two figures make their way up the driveway. Gloria and Arlo tread carefully through the simply beautifully decorated front yard, judging everything that comes in their path. âI'm here if you need meâ Virgil pats his shoulder before joining the group.
âMom...dadâ Patton greets, Gloria and Arlo barely glance towards him before squeezing through. âYeah hi toâŚâ He trails off his eyes falling onto something much more pleasant. Logan steps out of his car, his feet crunching the soft snow below him. He stops as he sees Patton. âHiâ Patton smiles, his aura glowing with a feathery blush.
âHi Pattonâ Logan greets, he meets him face to face. Patton smiles from his corners, he gestures for Logan to join him in their safe bubble. Logan does just that, and they stand freely under the lights as they dance around the room.
âDada! Is it present time yet?â Remus begs, tugging at his father. Logan chuckles picking up the small boy, much to both Patton and Remusâs joy. âLoLo!â Remus cries, his small arms wrapping safely around the lawyer.
âI fear you're going to have to exercise patience dear Remusâ Logan advises, Patton watches him carry the boy to the couch. Patton takes a cautious breath as the party continues without him, he finishes up the treats in the kitchen watching everyone from afar. Marcy tries her hardest to amuse Gloria and Arlo, Barbara watches the twins as they marvel at the presents, Damian speaks calmly to his father and Roman expressing his own bouts, Remy and Emile continue to appear and disappear before making light conversation. Everything a well-oiled machine, Patton fears to break that.
âDinner time!â He announces, Valerie scurries his way jumping delighted into his arms. Remus remains in Logan's arms, a quick smile as they pass each other. âOk Remus, Val, and Dee are over hereâ He instructs, the proper arrangements are made accordingly. Soon everyone else fills in a chair. Patton sits next to the twins, Virgil in front of him next to Damian. Logan seats himself next to Patton, as Roman does with Virgil.
âOh Pat, this looks deliciousâ Barbara compliments, already diving in as she helps Marcy. Patton smiles and quickly pairs are created. Logan and Patton discuss with one another while serving the twins. Marcy flirts shamelessly with Barbara, Patton watches giggling. âOh I'm so sureâ Barbara retorts, the table laughs at their antics. She leans in kissing her wife on the cheek.
âBarbara, would you care to refrain from...so much public displayâ Gloria punishes, Patton, sighs feeling Logan takes his hand carefully. A grateful glance is registered. âIt's just...weâre at dinner dearâ
âMom, nobody else is botheredâ Patton comments, Remus and Valerie pause, their eyes alight with curiosity. âJust admit you're h-â He bites his lower lip, Remus and Valerie. âJust, no one else is bothered motherâ
âPat it's fine, sorry momâ Barbara laments, turning quietly to her food and continuing. Her energy dampened. Patton turns to his children, assuring them everything's ok, Logan keeps a steady hand on Pattons. The doorbell rings and Glorias face improves, she stands with Patton.
âOh! That must be Liamâ She taps excited, Patton inhales sharply. âI'll get it!â She cheers, dancing her way to the door. Patton stands, kissing the twins gently on the forehead, begging his friends to watch them.
âIll be right backâ Patton excuses himself, a gentle squeeze to Logan's hand as he leaves to his room. Closing the door, he slides against it, a shuddered breath. âTake a deep breath Patton, you're okay, he can't hurt you, he can't hurt themâ He recites, his eyes move to the windowsill, bunched clothes lay. âSomething to doâ he sighs relieved, he moves slowly folding the clothes neatly.
âPatton?â Logan creaks, the door squeezing open. The lawyer turns, a sweater in his arms. âAre you-â
âAnything elseâ he interjects, his soft eyes practically shattering behind the reflective light of his glasses. âTalk about literally anything elseâ He pleads, Logan nods instantly closing the door behind him.
âYou say weâre moving too fast but I think we aren't moving fast enoughâ Logan decides, he has had one glass of eggnog, and yet his mind feels as sane as it has. Patton stops, a small opening to his mouth, not what he was expecting. âI have known you for ten years, Patton. I know you're scared and I know that you have every right to be-â
âThe twinsâ Patton argues, a minuscule shatter to his voice. Logan moves forward, he takes the sweater leaning it on a chair, his hands interlace with Pattons.
âIf I thought, even for a moment, that any of thisâ He looks between them âWould even dare hurt them, Id walk away. If there was even a chance that any of you would suffer, I would walk awayâ He assures, Patton watches with a fearful look. His lips pursed, his baby blue eyes shine with droplets of tears. âPatton, I love your kids, and I would be happy to just continue being in their life as I am now butâŚâ He examines the lawyers face, taking his thumb to rub a delicate tear away. âI want to be with you, I want to hold your hand, I want to get lost in your eyes and have my mind consumed by you every waking momentâ Logan admits, Patton scoffs through his sadness, knowing that broken desire well enough. Knowing the feeling, and knowing the absolute pain it causes.
âThat's the stuff of fairytalesâ
âThen god dammit Patton, I want a fairytaleâ Logan laughs âThat...monster might be your villain but beat him, Patton, fight for your happily ever afterâ Logan seethes, refusing to let Liam and his smug face, his undeserved boldness, ruin this.
âI'm so tired of fighting Loâ Patton shuts his eyes, a tickle as the liquid seeps out. They meet each other foreheads, the connection forcing through the barricades, joining them together once more.
âThen let me fight alongside youâ Logan replies âYou don't have to face every day alone, you don't have to force every smileâ Pattons not sure what hit him, but in a seconds flash he felt Logans lips against his own. His hands move to Logans chest, the pulsating heartbeat he feels grounding him. The world could go on without them, they couldn't care less, they were fine-
No
They were happy
Is this what it feels like? A shared thought, a united question from an emotion they matched.
~~~
âI've just never met someone as forward as meâ Roman quips, Virgil laughs. âI'm serious, I mean...I'm not complaining it's just...I'm not used to itâ He thinks of James, the sizzling reminder of their brief hold.
âOh I like himâ Virgil teases, Roman nudges him, the pair turning back to the party.
âMy turn!â Valerie cries, Patton nods sweetly from the couch, Remus sprawled across him and Logan, sleepily. âPapa! Is it this one?â She questions, hefting a big box up, Patton chuckles in affirmation. She tears it open, wrapping flies every which way. A gasp as her eyes fall onto the gift. A small groan is heard from behind Patton, where he knows his parents stand with Liam. âWhat is it?â She asks, a silly smile across her face, the group laughs.
âThat, Val, is one part of your new kingdom setâ He explains, she balls the wrapping paper in her fists bouncing excitedly. âThe rest is waiting to be built, weâre going to put in the backyard and you-â
âAnd Remus!â She giggles, Patton stifles a sob, he was much too lucky. Valerie pushes past her other gifts, including; new art supplies from Logan, a beginner's clothes making kit from Roman and her own detective kit from Virgil (as requested).
âAnd Remus can play and live out all your fairytale adventuresâ He finishes, his daughter wasting no time jumping into his arms, hugging him with all she had. âYou like it?â He jokes
âThank you, papa! Thank you!â She celebrates. Once they part she moves to her brother, shaking him. âYour turn dummyâ Remus mumbles awake, switching positions with Valerie. She sits in the middle of the lawyers, clapping her hands in anticipation. The night continues, Remus receives a slime lab from Virgil and Damian (almost an instant regret), a plethora of books of new words from Logan, a whole new assortment of costumes from Roman and the promise of a fish tank and fishes from his father.
More gifts are exchanged throughout the fast evening. Barbara and Marcy deemed the stuffed animal queens, each child receiving one. An octopus for Remus, a valiant lion for Valerie, a two-headed snake for Damian and a mixing bowl of teddy bears for Thomas. Remy and Emile find themselves gifted with many new items, mostly for Thomas but they couldn't be happier. Even Gloria and Arlo gain a few new things, Barbara and Patton don't skimp. Damian ends the night quite pleased with his new valuables and trinkets. Especially the new compass from his father.
âI have a gift for the Hart familyâ Logan announces, Remus and Valerie shoot awake, now fully present. Patton tears his gaze away from a suspicious Liam, eyes meeting Logans. âA family full of royalty and fairytales and it shocked me to find, you've never been to Disney worldâ He plays, Patton releases a soft laugh. The twins look to one another, giant grins plastered across their tired faces. âFour tickets for you two, your father and a special guest of your choosingâ He looks to Patton, handing him the envelope, a careful shock as they meet across the promise of joy.
âI want LoLo to come with us!â Remus begs, he bounces on his father's leg, Patton scoops him up tickling him. âAa!â He shrieks laughing, Valerie giggles falling onto her backside. âNo Dada!â Even Damian finds the scene amusing as he rests his head on Virgil's shoulder, safe in his father's arms.
âThat's up to Loganâ Patton finally decides, releasing the red-faced boy. âAnd we can talk about it later, but it's getting late and you don't want Santa to think you're still awake right?â All three children gasp, Damian pokes his father alerted.
âHold onâ And there it is, Liam makes his way to the tree, his eyes piercing through Patton. âBefore you go, I have a giftâ He reveals, Gloria swoons clapping. Patton's shoulders recoil, his arms around the twins only stabilize. âI thought that you two should know where you came fromâ he smirks, evil oozing. Virgil feels Roman take hold of his arm, pushing him back as he growls. Patton sits forward, an immense frown, hinting annoyance as Liam talks.
âWe know!â Valerie smiles, Remus nods. Liam steps back, tilting his head. âPapa told us when we were little a nice lady gave us to Papa. Papa wanted kids and he couldn't have any, but then she gave us to him. And he's been our papa since we were babies!â Valerie concludes, Patton shuts his eyes pulling them close. The others clap at Valerie's excellent storytelling skills. âWhat was the word again?â
âAdoptedâ Patton reminds, Valerie nods satisfied. âAnd I love you very much,â He tells them, knowing he would tell them even after words didn't make sense to him when his mind was old and grey, that would stay. âNow off to bed with you heathens!â He jokes, they race to their room after quick goodbyes to everyone. A special hug for Logan and an explicit farewell from Remus to Damian. Soon the house clears, a determined Damian dragging his father home, new parents Remy and Emile sludge home exhausted. Roman leaving soon after, followed by Barbara and Marcy. Then there were five. After a firm reprimand from Patton, his parents leave shortly after. âNow youâ He points to Liam.
âPatton don't, he's not worth itâ Logan speaks out, paying no mind to Liam's existence. âYour phone Patâ Logan identifies, a sweet tune snapping them back. Patton takes it, still watching Liam wary. âIf I could kill one person, with no consequences, I hope you know, it would be you,â Logan says casually once Patton is not within earshot.
âExcuse me?â Liam furrows his brows, a tight face. Logan shrugs, folding his arms.
âYou are, in the most eloquent way, an absolute monsterâ Logan names, his fingers snap âOr as I believe Virgil would say âA dickââ Logan settles, nodding, clearly liking this option. Sure he had had a few eggnogs, but it's not like he wasn't justified âIts really quite humorous, you came here expecting to derail a loving home and yetâŚâ He looks around, the perfect room shaping the absolute care and happiness it contained wonderfully. âYou failed because you don't know Patton or his kids-â
âOur kidsâ
âHis kids, let's not even go thereâ Logan smirks, Patton returns a solemn look on his face quickly shaken away. âPatton are you alright?â Logan checks, his demeanor softens.
âHmm? Yeah fineâ he hums âLiam I think you should goâ And so he does, clearly defeated. After a sloppy cleanup session, a hesitant Logan takes his leave as well, fidgeting all the way as he remembers the last few moments he spent with Patton. Something had changed after the phone call, something happened.
âPatton Hart!â Patton greets, putting out as cheerful as he could.
âEnjoy your last few moments of happiness mister Hartâ And the line goes dead

Bibingka // A Short Story About Celebrating Christmas
Quite Unedited
Word Count: I don't know how to copy everything since it would only let me copy one paragraph and I'm too lazy copy and pasting every thing so I could see the word count so....
a/n: this was supposed to be my entry in the creative writing contest our school held weeks ago before we had our sembreak. i haven't got the chance to join because i was too hesitant and a shy bitch. i wrote this originally in Filipino language and in my wattpad account. this is too late to post since christmas was days ago, but oh well. i hope you enjoy this piece of shit lmao.
Some other notes to take:
Lola - A Filipino word which means "Grandma" in English
Pancit - A Filipino dish
Bibingka is a rice cake that came from Indonesia and Philippines
Apo - A Filipino word which means "Grandchild" in English
Ate - Pronounced as 'a-te', a Filipino word which means "Sister" in English. Ate is like "Eonnie" and "Noona" in Korean language. The difference is anyone can use it, to address older women, usually your older sister.
Noche Buena - Filipino Christmas Eve. When it's December 24, and the clock strikes to 12, it means that it's automatically December 25, families celebrate it with having a feast. We also open presents at that time.
Simbang Gabi - Night Mass or Night Worship in English.

The soft sounds of a Christmas song coming from the radio can be heard through the whole living room. While I was arranging the table, Lola Ising come out from the kitchen with a pot of pancit.
With a wide smile plastered on her face, she walked towards me and helped me set up the table.
"Merry Christmas, apo."
I returned her smile and greetings. My grandma's attitude isn't so unusual at all. She's always so lively and energetic despite her age. There's not a time that you will see her angelic smile turn into a frown.
"I wasn't able to see bibingka at any store earlier. I'm sorry if I was unable to buy one." She apologized.
With a soft laugh, I insisted her that it's fine.
She didn't answer me and just smiled again before returning to the kitchen while I continued to work with the table and dishes. These are already enough for us three-- my grandma and I, and my younger sibling, Pao.
My mom passed away several years ago. My father, an ofw, works abroad just to send us money every month. He left a week after my mother was buried. Since then, I didn't see him anymore.
In all honesty, I never felt any rage at him when he left. I was actually sad at first, but I know that he was doing it for my sibling and I. I know that my mother's death caused him so much pain, and I knew he needed time for himself. I understood that, and I am hoping that Pao would, too.
My thoughts were interrupted when grandma placed her hand on my shoulder, asking me to fetch my brother upstairs.
Like what she said, I called Pao and told him we're going to eat. The clock's hands were pointing at 12 A.M. already, signalling that it's already Noche Buena. He cheered gleefully and as we go down, he quickly run towards Lola Ising, and he was enveloped with her comforting arms.
They spend more time together, if I'm going to be honest. Pao was unable to feel my mother's love and care. She died even before she can see and hold him.
That's why I can see why grandma and him click so much. He was taken care of by my grandma that he never even felt once with my mother. It's a pity that they never saw. each other
I catched up with them and prayed before we eat.
Like what I said, our food is only enough for us three. We are scared that the food might turn into waste if we had leftovers. Other than that, we want to make the feast simple.
While eating, my eyes went to observe what's happening outside. The street was almost empty and I couldn't see anyone passing by. From my position, I could see people in their respective houses.
It's sad that having people around is very impossible to do in celebrating the holiday. However, no one wanted this to happen in the first place. All I wish for is for the pandemic to stop.
We finished eating few moments later and cleaned up the table. I was about to wash the dishes but my grandma insisted that she can do it and that I should spend my time with my brother. I couldn't do anything, knowing that she wouldn't let me help her even if I ask too many times, so I followed what she asked me to do.
I went in the balcony and took a seat beside Pao. There, we sat in silence, until he rushed to go inside. I watched him stumble in the stairs a bit and I laughed at his clumsiness. When he go down, I saw him holding a something that is wrapped with a Christmas-themed gift wrapper.
With amusement, I asked him. "What's this?",
He became silent. I frowned and stare at the gift he lend to me. From the way it was wrapped, I can tell that the object was in a square shape. I couldn't exactly tell what it is, since it could be anything.
I ripped the wrapper slowly, making sure that I was careful enough not to rip it entirely because it can still be used for next year. My eyes widened when I saw the familiar album cover of one of my favorite band's album.
"I would notice you stare at it for too long every time we would stop by at the local music store. I figured that it would be a perfect gift for you this Christmas, so I would keep my extra money and save it to buy that."
I smiled so wide that my lips could rip apart, but I was very happy. I wasn't expecting him to buy me one, knowing that he would always gushed something about a toy. It's embarrassing that I didn't even bought a gift.
I pulled him in a very tight hug as tears brimmed my eyes. "Thank you, sweetheart. I'm sorry that I didn't even bought something for you."
He pats my back as he pulled back and I held back my tears that were threatening to fall. "You're the best gift I could ever ask for, ate."
With that, I began to cry. He reached over and wiped away the tears for me. I feel like dying just by letting my brother seeing me cry, thinking that he would think of me as weak. But now, that doesn't really matter.
We just sat there as I calm myself. Once I finally stopped crying, he stood up and gave me one last hug as he scolded me. "I'll go to sleep now. You too, hm? Don't sleep to late!"
I laughed at him and simply nodded.

With my mask on and a sanitizer on my hand, I walked in the street, trying to breathe fresh air. I carefully observed everything as I walk. The streets that were used to be filled up with little kids running and playing around as the night passes by every Christmas eve now are so empty and sad. Families that would host little games and give away presents and monies were now locked up inside their houses. People who would stay up until morning just to talk to their loved ones, drink with their friends and family, are now fast asleep. It feels like the spirit of Christmas isn't there anymore. But what did really change in all these years? Is it the people? Or Christmas itself?
Without noticing, I was already in front of the church. Only few attended the mass because of the virus' threat, and they were already going outside. I could hear them chatter, but the noise died down immediately. Some looks gloomy, while some stayed cheerful. I guess celebrating this occasion really depends on people's perspective. Some may think that it's not fun, some may think that it still is, but I guess that's fine. Besides, we can't really blame people about how they feel.
I decided to stand still there and look at the church. I was just watching the light decorations flicker into different colors. Erasing my negative thoughts, I decided to smile. Regardless of the uncertainty of it being fake or real, I pulled of one. I closed my eyes and breathe deeply,
Everything will be okay, it will be.
Once I opened my eyes, I immediately heard someone calling my name. I looked around and saw a man. Despite of having a mask on his face, I recognize his features, knowing who's behind it. Waving at me, he slowly showed me a plastic bag, mouthing "Bibingka?"-----
It was my dad.

It's me, the fic request anon... I hope this doesn't sound rude, but are you going to answer it? It's completely fine if you don't!! I'm just super curious and I keep checking your profile but it never shows!! :) (Sorry I'm being pushy it's been a few weeks now...)
Wait, whoâs rude here again? Itâs rather me whoâs seemingly ignored you. But it wasnât like that, I swear! But I guess youâd prefer to see an actual answer (finally) instead of excuses, so here you go! (You have some incredible timing though, like Iâd post it today anyway - the joy of having cold) I apparently canât make a simple list and it got ridiculously long, so Iâm putting it under Read more. Does tagging people even work under Read more btw? If not then well, I suppose I failed a bit. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Anyway. Youâre probably already aware of this, but I feel I should point out that Kaito is my dearest boy, and therefore pretty much everything what Iâm going to mention here is more or less about him. Contrary to appearances it wonât be only KaiShin, but I admit thereâs a lot of that. Also, you wonât find here too many long stories, as I rarely read fics with more than 50k words unless Iâd started them before they got so long. I mean, I do have quite a few saved and waiting to be read and Iâm sure theyâre all amazing, but at the end of the day I usually prefer sleeping than night-reading and yeah. Ok, letâs start:
So, did someone say KaiShin? Because you know, Shinichi is my second dearest boy, and when both of my boys are happy together itâs just the best thing. One of first writers who shown and are keep showing me the joy of reading about these two is @rachello344. Many of Rachelâs fics are only prompts, so they are pretty short and thatâs a real shame, but theyâre still worth reading! I think my favourite stories are these two and honestly I could read them over and over again - asexual Kaito is good, the fake-but-not-really marriage of these two dorks was the best thing and please write more self-indulgent stuff
@lunarscaped (Luna Darkside)âs oneshots steadily get longer and longer but I definitely donât mind~ Some of the most memorable to me are Penumbra (a.k.a. only Shinichi could write a romance by accident), Darling, So It Goes (undercover mission and more of oblivious Shinichi) and Ease (just. asfadsfgdga) but really, theyâre all good
House of Cards is a beautiful story of Kaito taking care of Shin-chan the Dove written by V. Shalyr (how Ai managed to make that pill will forever remain a mystery though); my other faves are With Each Season (itâs beautifull too), Paper Trail (funny short piece in which Kaito is too good at being bad, somebody stop him), Countdown to Forever (good old taking BO down together) and On Wings of White (aww, these two)
Alaena F. Dragonstarâs Win Some, Lose Some and Shadow of a Smile followed by Echo of a Laugh are all good examples of A+ writing. Boys, it will be fine, you have each other. Check the profile for more good stuff~
All ToukoTaiâs fics are good, but Life In Technicolor is good, and then there is this Flower shop AU KaiShin Give A Little which includes Shinichi convincing Kaito to become Kid, and if isnât that ironic
This Little Thing I Have by teawithmochi is a really nice piece - Conan overthinks his situation, but what are annoying phantom thieves for?
solomonaraâs Getting Off Track - did I say something about overthinking? This is real overthinking, boys, come on
Almost Magical by ObsidianAbyss got me by this one scene in the class - Shinichi, if youâre trying to deny you and Kid have a thing, youâre doing it wrong
I love the dialogues in dokidokidkâs The Guy Next Door, they will never be not funny for me, plus itâs a nice idea of AU
Good Soulmate AU KaiShin is not bad, and aceoftwosâs Apple Blossoms is good. Also there are locardâs exchange principle series for even more of these two
Beautiful Carvings written by RavenShira is another really nice Soulmate AU. Misunderstandings are strong in this one - lesson: multiple identities donât help in finding your soulmate
No Ghosts Need Apply by Cursed Detective is a really nice supernatural story, and Shinichi and Kaito are always a big plus for me, obviously. Kaito is sort of dead - the title may suggest as much - but such trivial detail wonât stop him, haha. And then there is a really nice (Not) Supernatural story. Itâs ongoing, Shinichi is not a vampire and honestly, I love this and I need more
purple_mangosteenâs Clair de Lune series mean more KaiShin goodness, and also Iâm a sucker for Conan and Kid texting each other
joisbishmyoga - I loved Rolling Snake Eyes for a good application of Kidnichi. Will Conan ever stop being so reckless though? I donât think so. Pluralverse is about minds of three teenage detectives somehow ending up in Kidâs head, and itâs tight in there. Itâs interesting, itâs good, read it. Twist the Knife is really intense and the writing is amazing, but it may not be to everyoneâs taste, as rape and trauma happen and well
@kawaiibeyotch (kaitothegreat) writes mainly AoKai fics and theyâre wonderful, I simply adore Aoko in these. Some nice examples are Live Life in full Bloom and Hello Incognito - these two are good AUs and have I already mentioned Aoko? There are also few HeiKazu stories which Iâve yet to read but Iâm sure theyâre worth trying, too
Slip and Fall, Obligation, Pride Goeth Before, Philanthropy, Heavy Silences, Never Here, Never Far and Shades of Grey by blinkblink form sort of a series and I wouldnât make a better summary to any of them than the author, but itâs Kid and the Kid task force dealing with some actual dangers and criminals, there is action and mystery, and itâs really good written and you totally should read it
Nerves of Steel by Ellen Brand is another must read - Robo-Kaito makes a comeback and things get serious
A Perfect Act, No Little Plans, Both Dark and Deep and Forgiveness and Reunion by Candyland - a set starting from sort of cornering Kid by the police and presenting him an offer he couldnât refuse followed by good action
@backtodcâs piece about the Kid task force being actually competent when it comes to other crimes is both funny and brilliant, try it
The Cranes by Acier Glace is just so sweet? No pairings here, itâs just Kid making lots of paper cranes to make you believe in magic and did I say itâs sweet? Because it is
miladyFeather wrote the ridiculous The Adventures of Kudou Shinichi, Fast Food Worker which is ridiculous and I have no regrets sharing this one, even if itâs ridiculous
Now a surprise, as Love-Love Daisakusen by neonquincy1217 is Makoko/Sonoko! Whereâs the catch? Well, remember Doito Katsuki? *wink*
When I think of quality SaguKai, I think of @5160763 (OrphanText). There is good KaiShin, too, but both examples Iâm putting here happen to be SaguKai, so. Anyway. The way Kaito and Saguru are written, I simply love it. And How we begin is so good? Also, In the language of the birds. I read it while it was being put on Tumblr in small fragments and boy, every new fragment was making me so happy
The Hattori-Kudo Files is a set of few cases solved by Heiji and Conan (who couldâve thought that?), written by MeridianGrimm - I believe the last one isnât finished, but the others are really interesting! And then there are some nice SaguShin and SaguKai fics, too~
I picked five of Mikauzoranâs fics for different reasons but again, I recommend trying all others as well: The Fifth Detective (Kaitoâs reasoning is funny and brilliant, he needs a hug though), The Pit: A Romance and Quietly Starving (SaguKai, these dorks), Healing Heartbreak for the Holidays (SaguKaiShin? Thatâs even more dorks), and Coming to Terms (KaiRan - usually I prefer it platonic but this one really got me, also interactions with Conan? It was a pleasure to read)
Dressed to Impress by Lisa Telramor is a really nicely written SaguKai oneshot, for all your SaguKai needs
Addy01âs When the travel bug bites is a sweet story about Shinichi travelling the world to find his way in life again and befriending some magician thieves along the way. You made me reread it and I donât regret anything
In case of Operation: Gift Wrap by Boogum Iâll just copy the authorâs summary as itâs explanatory enough: âSera Masumi was used to being mistaken for a boy. She was not used to being mistaken for Kaitou Kid.â
Critique written by Eliryn is a short but really nice piece. âLooks just like the real thing, doesnât it?â
AngelicSentinelâs the suffering of fools was already amazing as a oneshot, so when more chapters appeared one day I was overjoyed. Itâs KaiShin and itâs good. Also, the author is one of the only two (look below) which I trust enough to blindly read their ShinRan fics. Like, I have nothing against ShinRan, and I kind of ship it while being in Canon Mode, but I donât go and read fics about them at all, so this is quite an achievement. Read their other pieces, too, theyâre really worth reading!
Cost of Freedom by @mintchocolateleaves? OMG, Cost of Freedom. Read Cost of Freedom. I love both the plot and the characterizations, itâs amazing, read it. Itâs ongoing and youâll suffer because of that, but read it. And while suffering, try other ongoing fics: The Innocence Game, Law Unto Themselves and various oneshots. Like, I can blindly recommend each and every fic Mint wrote, even ShinRan. Cost of Freedom though
Next, Taliya - I recommend all present and future fics. My faves are Without Fanfare (my heart though), Search and Recovery and Recompense (the kind of Kidnichi enactment I approve and aftermath), A Word of Caution (Ai and Kaito as the main characters? Yes, please) and TMPD Antics (itâs simply hilarious)
lucathiaâs 4-6-4-9 is a oneshot about Conan getting disturbing encrypted message and trying to find the sender. Oh, and there was some murder, too
A Snowy Meeting (followed by ongoing Hidden Friendship) by angelwingsonline puts Kaito in DC movies, starting from Quarter of Silence, and lets him befriend and exchange messages with Conan. I love this concept
Ichthyophobiaâs Mirror Mirror and Two-faced, Half-faced are really funny - the former has really nice interactions between Shinichi, Kaito and the bad guy, while the latter⌠Letâs say that Kid fixing Subaruâs face is my aesthetic. And then there is Shaking Hands about Kaito not being really able to do magic anymore but getting help and somehow overcoming it and itâs beautiful. And again, check other fics too~
I liked the idea of Shinichi with grapheme synesthesia working in forensics in Number the Stars by The Sand Assassin. Then there are sweet KaiShin fics: Kaitou the Snowman (Akako, stop) and Dakimakura (itâs just a shirt Conan, youâre making Kid sad)
Yannamiâs A Criminalâs Fiasco is a good example of why taking Kaito hostage is a bad idea. Poor criminals
@kkrazy256 (kakashikrazy256) likes making Kaito suffer. A lot. In all possible ways. And I really mean that. If thatâs your thing, then check it out. And if it is not, there are the mild ones I like coming back to: Early Snow (this was literally my first fic in this fandom, Iâm sentimental ok - also Shinichi and Kaito, come on), Mr Barista (Mystery Train aftermath starring Bourbon and Kid) and Sympathy From the Devil (or how could OVA 10 end if the bad guys werenât so dramatically bad at being bad). As for the rest, you were warned, haha
In Eliriusâs Put on a Smile and Take me Apart Kaito definitely doesnât cope well with his situation. Somebody help him *sobs*
Hostage situation and platonic KidRan anyone? In that case, Irreplaceable by LostInTheDreams is the thing you need. As for other stories, I can only vouch for these with Kaito, but my boy is suffering a lot. Again
Unfair by Frozen-Infinity, but only if you want your heart to break, my boy is dying and this is unfair
StoryWriter369âs Broken Record makes my heart ache every time because immortal Kaito is not what should ever happen, but Iâm doing this to myself from time to time anyway *sobs more*
Hebiaczekâs The fox and hounds is an ongoing story and to be honest Iâm not up to date, but what Iâve read was a really amazing writing, and exactly the kind of plot I like the best. Because. The plot.
I loved Externalities by 873.25 and I hope Internalities will be continued. Characters are written so well, and both concepts are really intriguing. Try it and you wonât regret it
And last but definitely not least: kittebasuâs A Study in Scarlette - itâs a must-read. There is a good plot, there is Kaishin and itâs truly amazing, and did I say something at the beginning about not reading long fics? So this one is very long and I still read it, so it really does say somehing
I 100% missed at least few people and Iâm totally going to regret it later, but letâs say Iâm finished. See you in few weeks Anon, haha
#ask#anonymous#i knew i'd forget about few good pieces#but i can't find them right now#sooo#i may add them here later#or just make a part 2 at some point#ooor neither#that sounds more like me#not that it'd change anything anyway#oh well#dcmk#detective conan#magic kaito#fanfiction
