the state of American politics TERRIFIES me because what do you fucking mean you're choosing to THROW AWAY YOUR VOTE in the name of activism when the result will be the other guy winning and the thing you're protesting Getting Worse, along with worse lives for already oppressed people in America. a lot of people are giving away how narrow minded they are right now. I'm sorry, but there is no third option until we rally and fight for one, and no one is fighting. not voting for Biden won't end the genocide. you need to be fighting for Palestinian people, but you need to be able to seperate that from the immediate threat of Trump winning. our system is broken, and we need to start fucking fixing it but that process will not be finished before the election ends, and the election WILL end, and if you don't vote for Biden our president will be Trump. you Can Not Let The Need For Change Distract You From The Present
#joe biden#two party system#hey this animal can talk#but there is currently no other option#and that's not even considering the fact that individual voters have no power anyways#do what you fucking can now#also! I'm trans. if trump wins I'm genuinely terrified that I will lose my access to testosterone. sure#it sounds selfish#people are fucking dying#but America will not stop funding death because you didn't vote for biden#and all we can do is try our best to keep life livable here at the same time#you have to be fucking selfish when it's this dire#trust me i'm basically a communist#i don't want a genocidal liberal dinosaur in office either#leftists

Vote-blue-at-all-costs people: Please stop using these arguments:
"Refusing to vote for Biden because he's committing genocide is childish/spiteful/stupid": 14,800 people are dead. What number does the death toll need to reach for you to consider opposing genocide the "mature" decision? Oh, wait, let me guess. There is no number. Just as long as it's not you getting hurt. Using that argument shows people you're a cunt.
"But what about meeeee!!!!!": You're a stupid cunt. You think he won't turn on you?
"He would never turn on Americans!": A willfully ignorant, stupid cunt. He already is. People are getting arrested for peaceful protests. People are being fired for opposing genocide. Rashida Tlaib was censured, and no, not by him, but did he come to her defense? Has he spoken out in defense of antigenociders right to protest? Spoken out in defense of free speech in reference to people getting fired? What about in response to the silencing of Jewish Voice for Peace? No. People who oppose genocide are likened to nazis and deemed antisemitic. Because he only cares about freedom of speech and freedom to protest when no one is protesting genocide.
And we've seen in history that genocidal maniacs do not make safe allies. Get in bed with one at your own peril.
"We just need to influence him to do better!": We've been protesting and calling reps for a month and a half. And yes, they are slowly caving. But we should not need to beg our leaders for a month and a half to cede to the will of the people. Especially when that will is to not commit genocide. Genocide is something that even if all of America wanted, a leader should oppose.
"Actually, he's helpless, and none of this is his fault!" He wants to give billions to Netanyahu. He has repeated unconfirmed information, knowing it will stir up Islamophobia. He doubted the death toll when his administration knew it was higher.
"You're an idiot!": Oddly enough, you won't be able to get us to support genocide by hurting our feelings.馃槶
"Trump is worse!" No, he's different. Different is not the same as worse or better. Biden and Trump are just as evil. Biden just hid it better. People didn't see Bundy as evil for quite a while. Even after his arrest, a lot of people thought he couldn't possibly be guilty. Spoiler alert, he was. But even the highest estimates of the number of people Bundy killed only go into the hundred. Biden's funded the murders of over 14,800 people and hasn't even pretended to call for a ceasefire.
"If Trump wins, it will be your fault!" 馃檮 No. It will be Biden's and the Democrat's fault. All Biden had to do was not commit genocide. I would have voted him. A lot of people would have. Because while his flaws were mounting, he had not yet reached the stage where he was the same as Trump. But genocide is not a mere pecadillo. It is a huge fucking deal. And despite everyone warning him that this is a deal breaker, he has continued to commit genocide. He chose to forfeit our votes.
Moreover, we have made it clear that we have a very reasonable demand of Democratic candidates: Don't commit or condone genocide. The DNC has time to shift and meet this demand. If it chooses not to do so, they choose to lose the election.

Mexicans and American Mexicans are still deported to Mexico under Biden lolol. No matter what you try to bring up to deflect Biden being just as much as a peice of shit as Trump, Biden has continued or made worse. The cages are still a thing but have a different name now. ICE is even still around. You can calm it down and step off your high horse. I only said "you can do whatever you want, but dont shame people if they don't feel like voting or if they vote third party". Biden is just as much as a dictator as Trump. Just hear me out without going straight to the "do you just want a dictator??" mindset for a few minutes. Once you stop seeing red vs blue and start realizing it's about rich vs poor, things will make sense for you. Money and white supremacy is the only thing that keeps the interest of our goverment and is why they do what they do. That's why the United States and Israel are committing genocides across the entire world, no matter which party controls our government. Vote all you want to, but it's not going to do shit other then maybe make you feel like you did something. Going out of your house and protesting out in the streets, speaking up, and more direct action is what brings change. While you're out in the streets, look out for people and make sure people are wearing masks so they can't be identified, can't spread the ongoing pandemic, plus it helps with tear gas quite a bit. I'm sorry for ranting at you, but it just annoys me when people think voting will fix everything while we're all dying in the streets, without healthcare, and while our tax dollars are being used to fund more genocides.
"Just hear me out" no because I said listen carefully and you didn't and went straight to attacking me in my inbox and proceeded to spew a bunch of disinformation that I don't have time to unpack like "they stopped counting the death toll under Biden" wrong! And thanks to the trillions in covid relief funds under Biden, this country didn't go under and my family survived. But whatever this is besides the point I'm not here to defend Biden or even to defend democrats as a whole but at least some democrats appear to have a conscience, even if they are a bunch of pussies for not speaking up against this genocide in fear of losing their jobs and shame on them, I don't know how they sleep at night.
I don't like Biden, I don't agree with everything he's done. But to claim he's as much a "dictator" as Trump is delusional rhetoric. Trump was actively inciting an coup and threatening vote counters to throw out opposing votes because he's mentally unstable.
You're talking to someone who thinks democracy in America is already an illusion so yes, my vote is an attempt to feel like I'm not powerless as a citizen of this country lol. Voting doesn't solve everything obviously it cannot be that simplified, however I still believe voting is not entirely useless. Our voices do matter and protesting makes people listen. If our right to information, to speak and to protest is revoked, any power we have to make change in numbers will be lost and therefore, I'm prioritizing protecting those rights. I'll be doing everything I can to keep a dictator from becoming president because that's the ultimate threat we face right now. It's unfortunate that you and many others can't seem to foretell just how much worse things could get under complete GOP control in our current political climate of elevated right-wing radicalism.
Democrat or Republican run country, certain things will not get better right away. We have to take the steps necessary to make and maintain progression. But under Republicans, you can guarantee they will take this country back to 1950 and I won't stand by and put the fate of my future and others' lives in the hands of the American people without my contribution no matter how small of a difference you think it makes. People will say "every vote counts" and we all know that's a lie. However, if thousands of people share your mindset and choose not to vote, that's a dangerous game.

So I wrote a very long reply beneath the cut, addressing your reply. But you want to know what I find positively atrocious?
Out of a few vote-blue-no-matter-who people who replied not a single one has addressed the original point: How are you planning on getting Biden to stop committing genocide?
Biden didn't merely "allow" this to happen. He actively funded it and cheerleaded it.
Biden put forth a ceasefire resolution knowing full well Netanyahu would reject it, just as Netanyahu has rejected all ceasefire resolutions.
His ceasefire resolution is the same as his claim to support a two-state solution: empty words.
Israel has dropped the equivalent of several nuclear bombs on Gaza with Biden's full support and approval. This isn't a recent milestone; it happened back in November 2023. It was done with U.S. weapons.
He first said Rafah was a red line. Then he said that Israel's assault on Rafah that has killed hundreds to thousands of Palestinians in that area alone and displaced almost a million Palestinians who were told that area was safe, did not count as crossing the red line because it wasn't a major enough operation.
The officially recognized death toll is currently at 37,400. Euro Med Human Rights Monitor puts it at over 45,000, taking into account those missing under rubble, but quite frankly, we all know the true death toll is likely much higher.
Biden sunk fuck knows how much by now into his pier that keeps breaking. He openly admits it's inefficient to provide aid, but he won't do anything to make Israel let in aid by land. Palestinians are saying it was used in the Nuseirat Massacre, and you know what? I believe them over Biden because they haven't been committing genocide for almost 9 months.
People are dying of starvation and dehydration.
Israel and the US has polluted Gaza so much that it's likely that even after the officially recognized genocide ends, generations of Palestinians who haven't been born yet will develop cancer, have birth defects, have babies with low birth rates, and other horrors. I grew up not far from a landfill. A superfund site. A man I know who used to teach in the area can spend five minutes listing all the former students of his who died due to cancer. But that's nothing compared to what Gaza will be like after this. But hey, I'm sure those regulations on car emissions Biden likes to talk about will help offset the global warming. Give the man a prize!
Every single day new videos and pictures of mutilated children and dead Palestinians come out. There are documented accounts of Israel stripping children to their underwear, raping Palestinian women, torturing prisoners...and Biden's endless refrain? "We're troubled." "We're concerned."
Well, he can't be too concerned because he's sending Israel more weapons.
He gets in just enough aid to keep some alive...until the next bomb. The "lucky" ones need to watch their loved ones die. It's a slow game of torture he and Bibi are playing. And those who survive will never mentally or physically recover. The trauma will be passed down like worst possible heirloom. That is by his and Israel's design.
He has threatened the ICC as well as vetoed almost every UN resolution. And while his resolution passed, he has done absolutely nothing to enforce it even as Bibi continues the genocide.
Now as for what he's doing over in America:
Anyone who protests genocide is labeled as antisemitic. His administration very early on likened antigenocide protesters to the Charlottesville Nazis.
Those who speak out are fired. Even Rashida Tlaib was censured. Surely such a staunch supporter of the freedom of speech spoke out against these outrages? Nope! Because he wants people to shut up and let him continue his killing spree.
He continually lies about the truth. He's talked about the nonexistent beheaded babies multiple times. He denied the death toll until finally a member of his admin said the real toll was actually higher than reported. He still denies that this is a genocide. Don't tell me poor Grandpa Joe is having a memory lapse. This is a cold-blooded strategic way to spread Islamophobia and get support for a genocide.
When police bashed a professor's head against the sidewalk because she asked what they were doing, when they shot rubber bullets at students, when they teargassed protesters, when they tased a restrained student...he urged the PROTESTERS to be peaceful. Not the police. But hey, I'm sure he'd never turn on BLM, LGBTQIA+, Indigenous rights, or prochoice protesters (wink, wink).
He has repeatedly bypassed congress to send Israel more weapons, and what's interesting about this is not only that it dodges the checks and balances that are vital to a democracy, but it also makes it easier for the transactions to avoid public scrutiny.
And this indicates what we all know: he knows the public wants him to stop funding the genocide, but he doesn't care about the will of the people.
People warned him "no ceasefire, no vote." They voted unconfirmed. They wanted him to change tactics. But about 5 months from election day, he still doesn't think the will of the people matters. He doesn't think he needs their votes. He would rather risk Trump getting reelected than stop the genocide.
Trump will openly make fascistic and genocidal statements.
Biden will say, "No, of course I'm not a genocidal fascist!"
He'll hide behind civil-sounding words and a smile...even as he commits atrocities.
Both are fascist. One just hides it better.
And as for a third party vote, no. It's not a vote for Trump. It's a vote for a nongenocidal candidate.
Yeah, it's a long shot. But if it's a choice between Hitler A, Hitler B, and not Hitler, no matter how slim of a chance they have at winning, I'm voting for not Hitler.
You notice that vote-blue-no-matter-who people no longer offer any solutions for getting Biden to stop committing genocide. Biden's proved he has no red lines. He will gladly kill everyone in Gaza...and people who say to vote for him have absolutely no plan to stop him.
They're like, "Yes, he'll bomb just as many people as Trump, but he'll draw out the process, and his victims can rest knowing that at least the bombs were blue."
