What was the context of "marriage is a piece of paper"? I stg I've been here since 2012 and I keep missing shit apparently

basically in the beginning of the sims series they had dil going after eliza but then found out she was married to bob. in sims #8 phil says "[We should still call Eliza.] We'll free her. Maybe we'll be rescuing her from an unhappy marriage! Marriage is just a piece of paper if it's an unhappy one." so like he's not making any grand overarching comments about marriage in and of itself, he is specifically just saying that if people are unhappy in a relationship it doesn't matter if they're married or not. then sims #9 is when dan calls him "mr. marriage is only a piece of paper," in reference to what phil had said the previous video (also just as a note about 2 minutes before this dan calls the pancakes "unhappy-marriage-cakes," so clearly he remembered the context of what phil said lol). it just annoys me when people always bring up the dan quote and use that to postulate things about phil's when it totally ignores the context in which he said it

yeah i know it is strange to say, that dx has more main characters that just. Adam, JC and Alex D, cuz. They are Literally The Main chars. But back to my seven.

As i said before i love them all equally, for different reasons. One thing abt dx as a game is that characters arent plain and they are multifaceted.(?)

Adam

I love Adam for his complicated story, personality, for his own struggles, motivations and how they are represented in game. These small environment storytelling pieces and music that creates the mood (wait redswa it isnt abt the environment). What im trying to say. Through the gameS - dxhr and dxmd - we can see how Adam is healing from his trauma, and how heavy it was. Also needet to be noted how he interacts w another characters. AND this tension between him and Frank but how at the end of the day (but lit at panchaea) Frank is still cares a lot abt Adam.

Also Adam is just like my bestie. Moral think for yourself. Yeah.

Pritchard

ONE thing i need to say abt frank is HESSS JUST LIKE MEE FRR, and now imagine some kind of cringe sigma phonk playing on the background. Yeah thats it. I relate to him so much but like. in more✨deep infj cringe way✨ Have you evere feel like Pritchard is gonna explode from nerves or even neurotism? Or like from blast of incomperhensible mess of feelings but he hides it? This is what im talking about. Heyy dont judge me i need to project some shit to my faves okay???? Damn how could you tell i have a lot of hc on dx? i have no idea!

In Prague, Frank is still reminds Adam abt himself. Yeah i knoe it is for game purposes, but imo in lore perspective: Pritchard is gathered a lot of info for Adam (basically dxhr retelling), and this small detail: Adam keeps Pritchard's book. (i know you can find them anywhere in Prague, but still (methink eidos gaf later abt this texture and put it anywhere jus because lmao))

Megan and Malik.

Another notable thing that i like in dx series is that women in game arent sexualized. They arend "simple and f🤮ckable objescts" Megan is a scientist, on a verge of the greatest innovation. Yes. We dont know much abt her bc she is literally missing. Malik is a pilot. Damn i love her sm. Her chardesign. Strong and powerful charisma and nonconfotmity. Faridah's sidequest in Hengsha???? MY GIRLLLL GO AND GET AND BEAT SHIT OF THIS ASSHOLE. 👊👊👊👊

I remember how sad was i, when Malik was killed in dxhr and how happy was i to find out her little gift in Prague.

Overall kinda sad that there is not much screentime of them.

AND another notable thing. Megan and revolver. Revolver as an inspiration. OK I GOT IT

Eliza

Its 2028 and AI is already taken big steps in development. Questions of self-consciousness of an AI were asked in a lot of sci-fi creations. And deus is not not an exception. Love how Eliza obtains her own conscious during the game and how it leads to project Hyron at the end. I have a lot of thought abt p. Hyron overall. Another topic ngl.

And ofc her design is beyond all praise. Thank you designers for NOT making her oversexualized.

During dxmd Eliza is also questioning a lot of essential questions. I know she does. But cant remember what exactly it was. Need to replay tho

I would say that vaclav is silly but not stupid, not even naive. We can find him on Dvali's blacklist, but he is important for them. (but we also remember that otar just dont like him cuz vac knows radich's secret and otar is not (mb that the reason why vaclav is blacklisted))

I’m assuming the castle is described as a bad place because it’s where the bad guys hang out lol. I thought it was interesting that Mev had a big banquet with his followers and Vile killing Aby elicited no reaction from him/Sef. I feel they would’ve felt really secure & that’s how Caisson was able get in undetected. /1

Sorry I should've been clearer, I meant Creed as a replacement not Aby. He was supposedly picked since he’d be easier to manipulate but he shows up in Mid looking like Bliss and now China owes him because he gave funding for the stupid bank. Yeah Aby is like Darq in Landy has no idea what her actual limitations are so which have to accept that she’s ~reeaallyy~ powerful. Eliza definitely isn’t going to make it out alive. Landy barely knew what to do with her after the events of DB. /2

Or the church for that matter. I vaguely remember the theory that magic is stored in the heart (I don't know if you wrote it or someone else) & that's why you can seal true names through it. It would explain how Aby still had power. Don’t mind me but I’ve been coming up with headcanons for Serafina before Bedlam possibly destroys them. The UN’s death was a ~1000 years ago, Mev served under Dagon’s grandfather which means he didn’t rise up until later. /3

I wanna say ‘Old Magic’ families exist & there being an aristocracy (you've written about this & I’m going to take what’s written in DB & run with it) which is how Mev meet Sef. Their marriage really pushed him up the ranks - going to borrow your HC - with him being an orphan he didn’t care much for the upturned noses at him for not being pedigree. Sef showed him how to navigate the world & make it work for him. Mev is more into order while Sef is structure. /4

He would handle the soldiers and intricate parts of battle/strategy & she’d weed out non-believers/traitors and ensure that any weak elements were removed and replaced with something/one more reliable. She could have helped Serpine/Vengeous without them knowing. Letting little bits of information slip, orchestrating from behind the curtains. Killing of the Council of Elders, the Grotesquery, the events at the farm & proof of the FO would 100% benefit the church. /5

I wouldn't be too sad if Sef turns out not to be a big worshipper & she’s just more interested in playing the game. Let me know what you think of these! You’re better at writing than me lol. Good Mev/Sef headcanon with their meeting. But it conflicts with my own headcanon. I headcanon Mev as rising to power on his own using street-smarts and charisma to get mages to join him as he travels and preaches. Serpine follows him around and aids (in any way he can including financial). Mevs own little cult gets violent and the councils that would later become the Sanctuaries try to outlaw the worship of the Faceless Ones which Mevolent uses to unite the different church fractions under his banner to fight for ‘freedom of religion’. All the while he’s presenting himself as the good guy, as their savior and displays the sanctuaries as oppressiors. Later on more mages convert to the Faceless Church, not bc they worship the FO, but bc Mev is using the at the time recent witch hunts as a recruiting tool. And Mev and Sef only meet after he has already risen to power and is a king in his own right.

I do disagree with her helping Nef and Baron tho. Nef is too much of a wildcard, nobody can predict what he will do next and the only one that was able to control him was Mevolent. And Baron got played by the Diablerie who in turn got played by Batu and why would Sef slip information to a mortal? I heard that apparently Eliza was suppossed to be working for her the entire time tho.

I just don’t want Sef to be female!Mev or be as badly written as Aby/Darquesse/Murder Rose/ect. aka as over the top crazy for crazyness’-sake.Uff yeah, China’s plotline.... it’s pretty bad. And the WW2 stuff in the books annoys the living hell out of me bc I’m German aka my history lessons in school consisted out of 90% WW2, which ofc also includes reading war literature in my German class. Plus, interviewing WW2 survivors, first the jews, then later we had to stay for a week in an old concentration camp (Oranienburg, that’s near Berlin) the the guards house and interview Germans who lived near the KZ and so on and so on. I really don’t need a fat Irish man who got his WW2 knowledge from Hollywood preaching to me about this kind of stuff.

Pairing: Harry Hook x OFC (Eliza Frost)

Chapter: Two

The next day, Ben called for both Eliza and Evie to discuss with them the plan for the Isle. While waiting for the two he couldn’t help but worry about his childhood friend, wondering if she was sure about her choices for the first group. With their past with pirates he wasn’t sure bringing a Hook to the Isle was the best idea, she was just starting to feel comfortable around others and even managed to become very close friends with some of them. Before he could think anymore on the topic there was a knock at his door, but he wasn’t even able to reply to it before the white haired girl he was just thinking about walked in with her co-adviser.

“So, what happened with the officials?” Evie asked as the two girls settled into  their seats in front of Ben’s desk. Ben smiled at the two in greeting, while taking out a folder marked ‘Isle Project’.

“Evie, straight to the point, as always,” Evie rolled her eyes good naturally while Eliza took out her own notes on the project. “Well, I have good new and bad news.” 

“Good news first please.” Eliza piped in looking at her friend with a small smile of her own, “I passed my Chem exam and would like to keep my mood up as long as possible.” 

“Okay then, the good news is that officials have decided to let us handle the Isle Project on our own. We get to make the decisions and finalize our choices on our own without having to wait for them to give us the go ahead.” At this both girls clapped, the officials had always delayed any new actions made by them, due to the fact they were still children and one of them was a VK, and saying they weren’t wise in their decision making.

“Bad news is, we are completely on our own in gathering the things we need. We are gonna have to make our own connections with other kingdoms.”

“Well that’s not to bad, I mean El’s and your parents are well liked through the royal community.” “Yeah and our moms pretty much already have a foot in this project either way.” Ben just gave them a nervous grin while scratching the back of his head, at which Eliza glared at him for,

“What else did you do?” 

Sighing Ben looked at his advisers with a serious face, “It was also agreed that if this integration does not go as planned, I am to relinquish my crown.” 

“What do you mean ‘relinquish’ your crown?!? They can’t do that!” Eliza shouted jumping out of her seat and slamming her hands on his desk. She was mad, those old farts hated that Ben wanted to reunite the Isle and Auradon, she knew they believed they couldn’t pull it off. 

“Yes, they can El, I agreed to the conditions. They want my father back on the throne, they believed I was to young to be crowned king anyways, and with what happened when I first made the proclamation, they have been delaying all actions we have suggested.” Ben said looking his best friend in the eyes, “This deal allows us to prove to them that we may be young, but we have a better intuition for the future of Auradon.” Ben spoke getting out of his chair walking around his desk, taking both his advisers hands, “Lets prove them wrong.”

Eliza and Evie looked at each other with smiles on their faces, rolling their eyes, “All right, Mr. Dramatic. We’re in.” Eliza said with a giggle. And with that they moved to the small meeting room connected to his office to start planning.

Their planning took hours, and by the end of the day they had the first part of the project was all figured out, all up to after Winter Break. The first thing that was decided, that took up most of their time, was that Eliza was to go to the Isle with the Royal Heralds along with two Royal Guards to scout out the locations they discussed for the new schools and rehabilitation housings. 

Ben was against this, worried about his best friend, he felt that she wasn’t ready to go out to the Isle. At that she argued that she was and that Ben wouldn’t even be able to leave to the Isle anyways due to his responsibilities in Auradon and the fact his face is to well known. His response was suggesting that Evie went, she had more knowledge about the Isle. She argued back that Evie was also to well known at the Isle. They went back and forth with reasons why she should and shouldn’t go for at least an and hour and a half, until Evie cut in with the solution of taking the two Royal Guards with her, at which the Frost girl agreed with reluctantly along with Ben who’s argument died at the tip of his tongue when the bluenette sent him a glare.

After that issue was resolved, the rest of the time was spent discussing her departure the next day and how everything would be set up on the Isle. Apparently a few Villains and Henchmen had wanted to change and were trustworthy enough to watch over the schools and the supplies that would be sent over, so she set up different times she would go back and check on the facilities, while also keeping close contact with those left running them. 

At the end of the meeting it was established on who would be in charge of each part of the plan. Evie would handle the new VKs when they arrived at Auradon, helping them adapt to their new surroundings alongside those who volunteered to be guides, or helpers. Ben would keep track of the supporting Kingdoms and the new arrivals classes. Eliza would be the one in charge of everything involving the Isle and how its improvements, starting with her trip the following day.

 A/N: Another chapter done. Sorry Harry’s not in this one but I promise he will be gracing us with his presence soon. Most likely the next chapter. hamfam has all clustered together in the aftermath of basically the destruction of humanity, hamfam being the rev set, the schuyler sisters, southern motherfucking democratic republicans, plus the washingtons. occasionally they meet someone or other ppl from other groups and strike up a trade deal its p cool.

laf is the Tech Whiz™ and is quick as a whip tbh, like hell point out some part of coding or wiring thats messing up the entire system and explain what its doing and how to fix it and herc will just sit there and listen for a while and when laf’s done hell just go “yeah i didnt get any of that but good job i guess” herc does a lot of the management of supplies stuff cooks and sews and tells awesome stories!!

john and martha are the medicine ppl!!! martha bc she was a nurse before and john bc he was a humbio major didntchu know???? Anyways alex always goes out of his way to collect plants for herbs (dw he keeps them in pots and containers and stuff!!) and sometimes he finds flowers and he wont put it behind johns ear or anything bc that would involve having to kill it first but he does hand it over to him with much flirtatiousness so!!!! btw alex is always the New Kid™ but hes kinda gwashs assistant??

angelica tells creepy stories around the campfire specifically to freak out peggy (and sometimes aaron burr) and honestly shes the most suspicious of everyone (but i refuse to have angst in this series its all just existential angst capiche) eliza is the one who usually makes friends with ppl they find outside of their group while angelica glares in the background and is most useful in negotiation lol peggy is totally lafs partner in crime and can just build anything out of anything its fucking insane but she also has a wild imagination bc shell totally daydream about building this giant mech just because while out on a mission. gwash doesnt put her out onto missions v much tbh

forests are awesome - they are green and smell amazing, you can spot a lot of wild animals and the atmosphere is very serene and calming. I’ll always pick forests over beaches, unless the beach is all sand or small round marble stones, the water is clear without the detached, rotting algae stuff that floats around and ew, the sun has fucked off so I don’t get sunburnt (my skin always skips the tan stage right to red and I prefer pale skin anyway) and all sweaty and shit, there are NO people beside those I’m there with and I do NOT spot any animal while in the water that’s bigger than like 5cm. Because even though I love and respect it deeply, I’m genuinely afraid of sea life, I don’t care that there are lots of totally harmless creatures. …lmao, I feel like a rich asshole saying all that - way too many demands. (sorry sea/ocean, I love you, but you freak me the fuck out)

I have dogs, but I love both. With dogs, the love is more likely to be returned though :D

Madame Bovary. I think The Great Gatsby was boring too. I don’t usually read books without researching it a bit before so I can somewhat predict whether I’ll like it or not. (btw, if you’re into fantasy at all, 10/10 recommend reading the series A Raven’s Shadow by Anthony Ryan, he’s such an eloquent writer and the plot and characters are incredible! 37. favourite season? Cinnamon Bone by Eliza Rickman. She has a really nice voice and combined with the melody it sounds very unique. Actually didn’t know who the singer was until a few days ago. She also performed in the weather section in a Welcome to Night Vale episode. Oh and I rewatched CATS the musical on Sunday, so like.. the whole libretto is playing in my head on loop :D I’ve pretty much known the entire thing by heart since I was like 8 lol

alone and helpless and in excruciating pain from whatever the cause was that didn’t kill you immediately though, so you have to suffer

what the hell eliza, you’ve got enough you’re doing?: yeah, i realize...hence why this is fun. so, what is the photograph series? be prepared...it’s fun. also i like ruining myself so why not?

so what the hell is it then?: the photograph series is all quick little mini stories (1.5-3K) about photos of boyfriend harry, all different ofcs, all different stories, all different timelines (au, ou, tmh, ot4, you name it-it’ll be here.) an example of the photograph series is here . 

why should i care: well here’s the fun part. i give you their story, their first kiss, their first i love, the first fight, the first meeting, the moment the photograph is taken, but it doesn’t have to stop there. you are able to write your own; own ofc’s, own photographs, own origin stories, or you can add onto what i’ve already given. fill in the blanks, give them voices, tag me and post them. 

so...i can write about the characters you post for this series: yes, i want you to. interpret them on your own, ask me about them, it doesn’t matter. use it as an exercise, use it to help out with writers block, write it just because there is not enough fluffy boyfriend harry stories out there with only fluffy boyfriend harry. 

do i have to though?: obviously not, if you just want to give a basic gist along with a photo that you believe would work with the story you’re trying to tell, submit it to me and i’ll either do it myself, or pass it onto someone who might want to write it. you never know. 

what about the other boys?: go for it. send all the boyfriend stories. why the hell not? 

this is not an organized thing, this is simply getting inspired and having to write out the idea that will never be turned into a full fic. share the au that you’ve always wanted to write, share that scene that you don’t know how to fit into a proper idea.
