another thing i haven't seen people talking about (although that could be because i've been aggressively avoiding any kind of Astarion discourse): Gale approves of ascending Astarion.

I'm sorry but morally compromised gale is best gale. it's so compelling how he can go about day to day existence happy to be fundamentally decent to everyone around him, even going out of his way to do so, but when it concerns something Larger than Life, something epic and forbidden and NEW, the full-on Romantic intoxicated by the Drama and the Changes (to say nothing of the usefulness!) of the horrors just JUMPS OUT
