Despite what I wrote in my update post, some of my writing mojo has started to return! It's not back completely, but I am currently working on something based on what I think might happen after the scene in s3 where Anthony and Kate talk to Colin about marriage and how it takes work (though Anthony certainly thinks their marriage is easy and it's so damn cute how sulky he gets!
It isn't perfect, but here's a snippet if you want to have read~
-----
“So you think our marriage is imperfect?”
Stilling her hand, the task of unpinning her hair soon forgotten, Kate huffed out a sigh and turned to look at her husband. There in the doorway he stood, chest puffed out with unwavering pride, though his eyes suggested otherwise; somewhere, etched within the gaze he laid upon his wife, there was a flicker of hurt, of a need to understand.
Gripping the back of her chair tight, Kate quelled the desire to pull her lower lip between her teeth.
“Jaa nu, I simply wanted to—”
“That you find it hard work?”
Kate rolled her eyes. “You are certainly hard work, at times,” she muttered, mostly to herself, and moved to face her dresser, returning to the task of unpinning her hair.
Doing her best to ignore the tiresome man behind her, Kate tried to ignore the thrill that skittered over her skin when she heard Anthony step into the room. She could not still the tremble of her fingers, however, when she took out three more pins, each thick coil of hair growing heavier against her back while the door clicked shut. The scrape of a key turning in its lock seemed faint to her ears, yet it still sent an earnest ripple down her spine.
Swallowing thickly, Kate’s eyes turned downcast when the heavy thud of her husband’s footsteps only grew closer, his silence almost deafening before he finally halted mere inches away from her.
She felt the weight of his hands first, heavy on the back of her chair. Then there was the tickle of his breath against her neck, the gentle brush of his nose upon her skin before he inhaled, pulling from within a low, deep groan. Kate could not help but moan at the sound, her head falling to her shoulder to allow Anthony better access, to take her in like he always did. Her eyelids fluttering closed, Kate leaned back, the gentle caress of her husband so achingly close...
“Tell me, wife,” Anthony began, his voice warm and dangerously low against her ear. “Is our marriage truly so difficult that you must voice such concerns to my brother?”
Kate blinked, looking into the vanity mirror to see her husband’s face. Despite his face being so close to hers, his lips barely pressed against her neck and those eyes so dark even in the candlelight, he seemed quite stern.
“You do dwell on such trivial matters,” she sighed heavily and, with a gentle shake of her head, turned slightly towards Anthony until her cheek was pressed against his, the light scratch of his stubble comforting. “I had simply meant to console him, Anthony. Colin is understandably nervous and it is my belief that, while your parents marriage and our own have been happy ones, it is not always the fairy tale that we have painted it to be.”
“So you find our marriage trivial?”
An exasperated noise came from Kate’s lips and, turning herself to face her husband, placed one hand over his while the other found its way into his hair, her nails scratching soothingly against his scalp.
“Why must you be so… so…”
“Exasperating? Much like our marriage?”
Kate fought the urge to slap him for such cheek. Instead she held his gaze, her eyes narrowing at Anthony’s impertinence.
“Disagreeable, Anthony,” she ground out, the corners of her mouth quickly turning downwards. “You must know that I simply wanted to inform our brother that effort must be made to create a harmonious marriage, one that is not simply based on passion, but also filled with compromise.” Pausing, Kate squeezed his hand beneath hers and said, almost earnestly “A marriage built on a foundation of love, much like our own.”
Her hand slid from Anthony’s hair to cup his jaw, her thumb stroking soothing circles against his cheek. Leaning into her touch, Anthony let out a sigh of his own, his gaze not once leaving Kate’s. Then, the corners of his lips began to curve upwards, sparks of gold dancing in his eyes in the low candlelight.
“So you wish to compromise me, Viscountess?” His voice was teasing and light, his lips barely a breath away from hers. “Even though I can be quite… disagreeable.”
Unable to suppress the shudder that wracked through her body, Kate began to nod, only to shake her head when she felt the slide of Anthony’s palm against her arm.
“Yes,” she whispered, beginning to feel herself lean forward as Anthony’s hand slipped beneath her hair to cup the back of her neck. “No. I mean... What I meant to say is…"

you’re telling me the bridgerton writers really said “we’ll have benedict suggest john throw rocks at francesca’s window as a bold declaration of love” knowing full well that eloise was throwing rocks at penelope’s window in season one and had eloise staring longingly after penelope all season and have had eloise essentially always be short with colin and made it canon that as a child she wanted to be a knight with penelope and they said they’d be spinsters together and i’m somehow supposed to buy that she wasn’t in love with penelope? sure

okay I liked season three up until the last episode. Colin being mad about Penelope’s secrecy, Cressida’s blackmail, etc, I can absolutely understand. But talking over her the way he did? That shot of Penelope standing in the background while others discussed what he would do about her life? And then the halfhearted apology he offered, only because he made things worse? He never actually apologized for speaking over her the first time. He took away her agency and wasn’t even sorry for that. He apologized for everything except stopping her from making choices about her own life. Like I get that he was trying to protect her. But did he actually apologize for making her a background character in her own life, no matter how unintentionally he did so?

Where does Say My Name Kate keep the photos Anthony took of her? Does she ever look at them? Does Anthony?
*sexy snippet below*
Kate knew it was reckless to keep the photos in her purse, exactly where Anthony had left them. There was just something right about it, keeping them so close to her. The final token that had convinced Kate to make the best decision of her life, and give Anthony Bridgerton a real chance at loving her.
There was also something a little naughty and thrilling about it, besides. Kate was hardly a prude, but she still blushed when she caught a glimpse of herself posed so intimately. Her legs spread, her cunt exposed, Anthony’s release filling her. It was too easy to get wet all over again at the memories. Too easy to get sentimental as Kate mused on how far they had come since then. That girl had been so scared, fighting his every attempt to show her that he genuinely cared about her.
And now she knew the truth. Anthony loved her harder than she could have ever dared to imagine, and she was safe to love him just as much.
So the Polaroids stayed. Until the day that Eddie needed to borrow a phone charger and Kate, distracted by her sauce on the stove, had offhandedly said, “Check my purse.”
There was the sound of zipping, and Kate realized her mistake a second before it rang across the house. “Oh my fucking god!”
Kate turned down the heat and raced into the other room, snatching the photos from Edwina’s hand. But the damage was done, judging by the shell-shocked look on her sister’s face.
“That’s not what it looks like,” she insisted, her cheeks flaming bright red.
“That’s not…” Eddie said faintly, then snorted. “Didi, I literally don’t think that could be anything except what it looks like.”
Shoving the photos back into her purse, Kate pulled out the charger and pushed it into Edwina’s hand. She supposed it was a good sign that her sister’s surprise had faded and now she looked endlessly amused rather than angry.
“You little slut,” she said, but her voice was teasing. “You let my ex-boyfriend take nasty photos of you, didn’t you?”
Kate rolled her eyes. Eddie loved to call Anthony her ex, and while technically correct, Kate knew she meant it more as a joke than anything else. “It’s complicated.”
“It’s not that complicated.”
She supposed there was no need to tell Edwina the whole sordid tale of how Anthony had taken pictures of her after she had just made him come for the first time, on her knees and trying to get even after her own intense orgasm. Of how he’d given them to her as a gift, a promise that he wouldn’t take advantage of her vulnerability.
Might as well let her think they were more recent, a fun little experiment in a solid relationship.
“You look great,” Eddie said, waving her hand toward the photos. “Have you ever considered porn?”
“Edwina!”
-----
So, maybe her purse wasn’t the best spot. Kate took them out when she got home, bringing them upstairs with her. It was late, and Anthony was already in bed, shirtless and reading a book. Truly beautiful sight to come home to, each and every time.
She flopped onto the bed, and Anthony quirked an eyebrow when he saw the photos in her hand. “I haven’t seen those in a while.”
“Edwina found them in my bag,” Kate said, wincing. “She was fine, but it was…awkward, to say the least.”
Anthony pressed his lips together, suppressing a laugh. “But she was okay?”
“Yeah. She said I should do porn.”
“You do look incredible naked,” he said with a straight face. “But I must admit, I like being the only one to see you that way.”
“I know,” Kate sighed, snuggling in closer so she could rest her head on his shoulder. Anthony put his book aside, wrapping his arm around her waist. “I must have known when I let you take these. I believed you when you said you wouldn’t show anyone else.”
She felt his deep breath against her body, his grip tightening around her. “I know you didn’t have much reason to trust me back then, but I would never do that to you, Kate.”
“I’m well aware,” she assured him, twisting to press a kiss to his collarbone. “It was a little scary, but it also turned me on. I realized I liked the idea of you laying in bed, touching yourself to my photos. Wanting me even after our one night was over.”
Anthony tensed slightly, his breathing going a little shallower. “That was…inevitable.”
“I know that now too.” Kate flipped to the next Polaroid, a close-up of her cunt with his seed leaking out. Right after that ridiculous phone call with Tom and before Anthony had cleaned her up with his tongue. “If you didn’t take them for yourself, why did you take them?” she asked quietly.
“They were for me. At first. If that night was all I had with you, I wanted to remember it. And when you let me take them, I realized…there was a part of you that trusted me. Maybe it was buried deep down, but it was there. And I wanted to show you that I could deserve that trust. I wanted you to know that you owned me, not the other way around.”
Her heart clenched in her chest. Maybe the way Anthony showed love didn’t make sense to everyone, but it was perfect for her. He was perfect for her.
“Hey, baby?” she asked. Anthony hummed. “Do you know where your camera is?”
“It’s in my office. Why?”
“I think we should take some more photos.”

one thing that i thought about last night was that in the book Pen says something of the sorts of "some men might use pleasure as a punishiment or desire as a weapon" and that scene where she is all dressed up with clearly her special honeymoon nightgown and althought colin wants, he doesnt go foward or really even kiss her..... yeah.... in my brain those two things are deeply connected
