watched Raya and the Last Dragon and Luca tonight

final verdict:

Raya's worldbuilding slapped, the plot was fun, the animation was gorgeous, and the character interactions were great, but it had way too much "tell, not show" and frankly awful pacing. Also the jokes were...not great. Would have been about 10x better if they'd gone the Atlantis route and made everything just...more organic in general

Luca was perfect in every way and it's very obvious the creators went "I want to recreate the feeling of going to summer camp and also watching Ponyo for the first time," 10/10 would recommend
