Hey everyone 😊

Thanks so much for your interest in a Branrow event! It looks like we’ve got a good number of “yes” votes and some “maybes,” so I'm excited to announce that we'll be organizing a Christmas-themed Branrow Week!

I’ll be posting another poll soon with some suggested dates, so stay tuned! Here’s the plan: I’ll ask for prompt suggestions via the ask box or through a Google form, and then we’ll vote on our favourites. The final prompts will be posted a month before the event to give everyone plenty of time to prepare.

In the meantime, be sure to follow the page for updates, and feel free to drop any questions in my ask box. If anyone wants to help with organizing, I’d love to hear from you—just send me a message!

I’ve had a certain interview with Rob James-Collier and Allen Leech pop back into my brain after lying dormant for years - the one in which they suggest that Thomas run a gay bar, and Tom run an Irish bar, and they be business rivals. My first thought: “Oh! That would be a fun modern AU!” But then I thought: “What if canon era though????” So... uh... this is what I’ve got:

At some point after the events of the first film, Tom decides to run an Irish pub instead of the car business he was managing with Talbot (Mary/Henry divorce mayhaps?). He’s desperate to get some space from the Crawleys and find himself again.

Meanwhile, Chris has been recently released from prison. Thomas has been exchanging letters with him on the quiet for all the months he was locked up, and they have become good friends. Chris wants to arrange meet-ups with the rest of the Turton’s crew, but everyone is understandably skittish about squatting in another abandoned building.

Tom finds out about all of this because of [muffled sounds behind hand] reasons, and he’s like, “Wait! I think English cops should go fuck themselves, as well. You fellas should use the back room of my pub for your parties. We can stick it to the man together.” Thomas is... not impressed. But Chris is not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

And perhaps Tom bizarrely, impossibly finds himself drawn to this new Thomas, who dances and laughs and drinks with his fellow gays. Maybe that funny, happy, beautifully alive man is... sexy? But even if Tom really did feel that way - which of course he doesn’t - it wouldn’t matter. Because obviously Thomas and this Chris guy are some sort of item. Neither of them have ever actually said that, but clearly they are. Probably? Maybe?

Branrow shippers, is this anything??? Genuinely do not know at this point.

Okay, but those Thomas-ship weeks/months that are being hosted are so incredibly cute. Not onyl ships, but also frot-fest and the upcoming halloween event! I cherish the positivity and wish to join in when I have time 💚

All of it makes me want to organize a week or month - a week seems more plausible - for branrow. I would love to try and host it, all I need to know if there would be people interested.

It probably won't be held too soon - since I barely have time myself at the moment. I just thought it was a nice idea to put out there. Feel free to let me know if you would be interested or have some ideas on how to host a branrow week ✨

Prompt Suggestions

Excited to announce that "Branrow Fest" will be taking place the week of the 16th-22nd of December!!

As part of "Branrow Fest" we will be looking for prompt suggestions over the next two weeks following this you will be asked vote on prompts to use for the event!!!

You can submit your prompt suggestions anonymously through the Google form here, or alternatively, you can drop your prompt suggestions into my ask box @branrow-events. The final date for the submission of prompts is the 27th of October.

A few points on prompt suggestions:

No explicit prompts. (Content created for the week can, of course, be explicit, but I want to keep the prompts clean to allow everyone the opportunity to participate.)

Prompts should be on theme for Christmas/ winter/ New Years.

All types of prompts are welcome: one word, dialogue, song lyrics, situations, tropes, images etc. Love to hear all your ideas!!

Forms can be submitted multiple times, so feel free to keep the suggestions coming over the next two weeks.

The forms are anonymous, I won't know who suggested what, so feel free to be creative !!

Prompts will be officially posted on the 16th of November to allow everyone time to get ready. Hope everyone is excited 😊

Branrow Christmas Event:

Would people be interested in participating in a Branrow Christmas themed event (sorry a little early to be talking about Christmas 😂 but I'm giving myself plenty of time to organise as it's my first time doing something like this.)

The basic idea is a dedicated week in the run up to Christmas. Prompts will be posted prior to the event and all gifts would be welcome. (Fanfics, fanart, gif sets, moodboards, playlists and edits).

Alternatively we could organise secret santa but this may be more difficult. I suppose first things first is there anyone interested in participating in any sort of branrow themed event?

Prompt Vote!!

It's time to see what your fellow Branrow shippers have came up with the last two weeks!! It's going to be a struggle to pick just seven prompts from such an amazing list.

A few points:

I've reworded some of the more specific prompts to allow for more diversity in how they can be interpreted.

Every prompt suggestion has been included they just might not be worded the same as you sent them to me.

AU Freefrom: a really cool suggestion I got. Basically it's up to you to choose the AU eg Modern AU.

Free Choice: if this gets enough votes we'll do Free Choice Friday where you can chose your own prompt.

Branrow Fest is scheduled to start the week of the 16th of December. Official prompts for the week can be found here. I am so excited to see what everyone will create, whether it be fanfics, moodborads, art, playlists, edits everything is accepted.

I'll post more information closer to the time on how to submit your work. I'll more than likely create an A03 collection if people would be interested. I'll also be reblogging your work here.
