june is eiffel - not much i have to say in this aspect. i really like her as eiffel since they're both essentially the main character. eiffel's smorgasbord of pop culture references is a bit of a change from her initial characterisation as just being into shitty 2000s movies but i don't think it's that much of a stretch. somewhere out there is a huge list of all the references in w359 and if i'm able to find it again, i definitely see changing a few of them to pertain more to her interests. her being good at radio equipment is another shift from her interest in computers, but once again i don't see it as suspending too much belief. her relationship with jade as hera is something which i am definitely excited to write, with the added dimension of them legitimately being sisters, once pryce is introduced proper. not sure how i would mess around with the family tree at all, but i see june really idolising her (also trans) great(?) grandmother, and talking about how it's a cool coincidence. idk if i'd change jade's name or if they'd just refer to pryce as like, "harley"

jade is hera. this is pretty easy in my mind. i've already explained why i think it works with regards to jade being both hera and pryce, but jade and hera mirror so well with their loss of agency in the narrative, and i feel hera's is better explored and concluded better than jade's, so this will be a nice bonus for me

jane is minkowski. it's mostly a surface similarity, but i think the change in background really sells this one for me. i don't know exactly how i'll write it, but i get the feeling i'll have her raised the heiress to the corporation, which is where she gets the strict discipline. but she wanted to do something else with her life, and has trouble slipping into old habits on the USS.... hephaestus? i mean it's already a homestuck denizen, but if i'd change it to anything else, it'd be the USS abraxas. like caliborn. either way i'm changing the other ships (hermes, tiamat, urania, and whatever cutter's ship is called, the sol?) into homestuck denizens. off topic but i think thats all i have to say here

dirk is hilbert. i really love hilbert's arc and i think it's perfect for dirk. like i think there's so much moral ambiguity to hilbert that dirk's character just slots into perfectly. like, i'm in two minds about hilbert actually being morally justified, (although i am 100% in my conviction that if eiffel doesn't want to be a test subject he shouldn't have to be). while generally i'm a fan of the "villain survives to do good in the world" side of things, i think it's a bit unavoidable that hilbert dies, in a classical tragedy kind of way, and while it doesn't redeem him, in that mission he was truly doing what was right, which is what, in the end, i think dirk would do.

vriska is lovelace. what do i have to say here? alien badass? sapphic ship captain? absolutely batshit? they are just on every level the same damn bitch.

dave is jacobi. i have similar things to say here. both gay, both stuck with deadly jobs they don't want in the end. episode 52 will be fun lol

rose is maxwell. this is 50% bc of the dave partnership, 50% because she's the one who makes the most sense to have a strong emotional connection to jade. i admit roxy is more of a hacker/programmer than rose, but rose has the smarts, and roxy was mostly just playing it up for jokes. yes i'm bending the rules but not everything fits perfectly.

jake is kepler. i don't have a better thing here. they both have a dumb accent and like whiskey. i don't think anyone else fits better here

caliborn is cutter. already spoke on this, but the embodiment of toxic masculinity being so misogynistic that its gay.

overall, i would make each chapter correspond to an episode of the podcast, and i'd prolly do mini episodes too, and possibly restructuring them so there's not like 8 in a row. i'd still keep the same essential feel as the official transcripts, like they're a screenplay, which makes the most sense, but i'll use homestuck color and formatting.
