Quote
Being smart is not about the amount of objects you have in your thinking tank. It's about using the objects you have already to get new objects. The man who sits, complacently clinging and boasting about his objects is a fool. The man who sees him, covets the objects and tries to claim them as his own is a thief. Though the woman who sees them both, is an anthropologist.

Myself and gospel/r&b recording artist, TJ Miller, performing a cover of Erykah Badu's On and On at last night's Winter Poetry Night hosted by SCAD's Black Student Association.
I also got to host the show with comedian Zarren Harris which was my first time ever. Honestly, I could not be more happy with my self right now. The event was at a local church and I was nervous about what I would say. If I would slip up and curse (I can be sailor-mouthed). If no one laughed at my jokes. If I was even prepared. This wasn't my first time on stage. I've been performing for years. But hosting is a very different ball game as far as ability to improvise.
BUT I prayed for days on it and asked God to speak for me. And man...everything went so much better than planned. I didn't curse or trip or say anything off key. I was comfortable. And most importantly, I proved to myself that I could do it. Looking at these pictures makes me extremely happy because I know that young lady. She's who I've wanted to be for a long time. It's not necessarily a state of realized potential. But more so realized self.
