Megyn Kelly, a woman born into privilege with a comfortable upbringing, somehow finds endless ways to stir racial divisions over matters that don’t need to be divisive. Her most infamous rant���claiming that Santa Claus, a fictional character tied to a fictional holiday, “is white and will always be white”—highlights her fixation on using race as a weapon. Her dismissive remarks toward the Black community’s efforts to imagine a Black Santa were met with widespread ridicule, including Jon Stewart laughing at the absurdity of her statement.

Watching this clip again, I couldn’t help but wonder: why does Kelly harbor such persistent anger toward Black people? Her targets are consistent: Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle and Barack Obama, Whoopi Goldberg—anyone with African ancestry seems to be fair game for her ire. And now, she’s turning her venom on Father Christmas, a symbol of joy and generosity for children, regardless of their race or ethnicity.

Kelly’s rhetoric isn’t just ignorant—it’s dangerous. Her words, alongside her ideological twin Tucker Carlson, fuel a simmering hatred. These are two wealthy, upper-class white people who face no real threat from the Black community yet consistently manufacture fear and disdain. Why? What is their endgame?

Personally, I don’t hold much regard for Christmas beyond its value as a time for children to enjoy storytelling, gift-giving, and family togetherness. Its origins lie in ancient Roman pagan traditions, and the date has no factual connection to the birth of Jesus Christ. But that’s not the point. The point is that Christmas is a time for unity and joy, not for petty racial arguments or the kind of divisiveness Kelly seems determined to perpetuate.

Megyn Kelly turning Santa Claus into a symbol of white supremacy isn’t just ridiculous—it’s harmful. It reveals a deep insecurity and hatred that no amount of privilege or wealth can apparently cure. As adults, we have a responsibility to let children enjoy the innocence of the season without the stain of racism and ignorance.
