Hello! I’m pinging you all because I've noticed you might have reblogged this Gaza charity scammer's donation post on their page, and i’m hoping you didn’t lose any money to them. If you gave this person money through PayPal, you can attempt to dispute the claim through Paypal, and if you're American you can also submit a fraud report to the FTC.
The easiest way to tell if someone is a scammer is to check their username to see if they follow random naming conventions (a string of random nouns- in this case “massivegalaxytragedy” which is indicative of botting) and then to check their gofundme link, which in this case is fake, and redirects you to their PayPal that originally had the PayPal name “Angeline Ikwabe” which then changed to "Rosinta Marwa" after getting called out. The name is not Palestinian and follows a pattern of similar scammer names.
They also hid, blocked, and removed replies from people calling them out.
Not all people reaching out through the inbox are scams though, I've gotten legitimate messages from genuine people needing help from Gaza before. When people in Gaza reached out to me, they showed by who and where they were vetted from, and had legitimate gofundme links. So if you get an inbox message you're unsure of but are still wanting to help, check with the scammer tracker list and vetted fundraiser masterpost linked above 💕
