Mastery Journal Reflection Post Patterns and Recognition (BIN610-O 1705)
This month in Patterns and Recognition, we took a deeper look at how to identify actionable statistical patterns in data. It was a challenging, but rewarding month in terms of educational value. This was the first month, I used R, Python and RapidMiner. There were many failures, mistakes and lessons learned through trial and error. The course was led by Dr. Shiaw, who is knowledgeable and highly skilled in her craft. Her guidance was much appreciated and she was able to help me understand some vital concepts, I was struggling with.
In the first week, the course opened with an engaging discussion on social media and brand recognition. Later in the week, we began to discover how to use of algorithms and machine learning in a variety of techniques designed to reveal hidden performance patterns and discern valuable insights. In week two, we continued our conversation on social media and expanded the topic, to discuss how recognition could assist in supporting effective brand, marketing and organizational decision making. During this week, we also took a look and sales, trend and geographical investment analysis in the form of opening a new restaurant.
On the third week, we had a hearty review of how to deal with time series data and conducted a vigorous stock market analysis. In the last week, we used a variety of data-mining resources and tools to examine live data sets. We also worked on refining our thought process and skills needed to complete our upcoming capstone project. We used case studies to explore advanced forms of data mining and applied those skills to our work.
This course was very challenging and exceeded my expectations. The course was a lot of work, however, very important work for the success of the future course, which will continue to build on these themes. In the future, I will be using the skills acquired in this course to finalize my capstone project and to build some interesting forecasting models to use both personally and professionally.

BIN610
The BIN610 class was one of great learning. During these 4 intense weeks through cases I was able to understand and learn advanced concepts of data mining which perfected my technique. I also learned the use of statistical data focused on pattern recognition. The application of Bayes' theorem in cases every week was important since it is the basis of Pattern recognition. I learned the importance of the algorisms and the use that they have in BI and how they can be applied through Machine Learning to be more effective. I discovered thanks to this class tools that are used to analyze data in social networks and how useful they can be to obtain patterns and information and how efficient they can be for decision making. Pattern recognition together with Data mining are the main knowledge that must be perfected for any person wishing to specialize in BI as both provide essential insights  that can bring success to any company.

BIN610-O Patterns and Recognition
In this class, I learned many concepts related to Business Intelligence Patterns and Recognition such as performance patterns, brand recognition, patterns analysis, recognition analytics, trend analysis, financial patterns, investment patterns, market recognition, and data patterns. When we talk about Businesses Intelligence patterns and recognition we are talking about data patterns as data are the main pool for business growth. I also learned pattern forecast and prediction data analysis.
First Point: Performance Patterns also helped me to recognize the data. With Performance techniques, it is easier to identified what patterns is important to integrate into analysis, such as brand recognition and identified target. In addition to the performance patterns tactics, we can measurement social channels as Twitter, Facebook Instagram, etc. In addition, we can measurement these statistics social channel tools using like Twitonomy, Foller me and Ritetag. It is worth mentioning that if we know apply deep performance we can take advantage of the social media and we know the strengths of social media then we are going to be able to understand each section with their unique features. Another impact point was Ironman Analysis where I got a professional skill like evaluate time, determined age, know the strong gender, and historic data mining. Secondly point: Patterns Analysis, I learned recognition analysis because we need to how run the data analysis. This practice generates interact with business data and we know how is growth analysis business. It is noteworthy that as patterns analysis help to calculations in different areas of the data mining such as social channel analysis and determiner what is the weakness of social campaign and convert this weakness to strengths. With this practice to create a positive unforgettable experience to use patterns analysis tactics. Also, I learned the treat analysis of the data, for this topic I was used example of ten restaurants on the market. With this trend analysis I learned in what restaurant we need to invest money and how many years we recovery our investment. It’s important know those treats because with those treats we will make a good decision to invest money and reduced risk to loss the investment.
Third Point: Financial Patterns, this is my favorite topic of the course because I learned how investment patterns. With this technique I can to identified based with Paz Electronic data mining such as customer by zip code, vacuum cleaner brand name more popular they repaired, and what is common issues that they fixed on the shop. With this information applied Bayesian Analysis to evaluated what is the next challenge for Paz Electronic. Also, I learned market recognition that was to me more interesting topic to me because for years I wanted to know how investment money in the stock market. What was my surprise that this topic became very interesting because I could learn how to buy shares, what kind is good for me, depending on how much money I want to invest. We can also know the three main parts of the stock market, such as Selling, Buying, or Holding the stock to further analyze what decision to take again. And finally, I learned to know these two important strategies that were the traces of the whale in the graphics and Bollinger Bands.
Lastly, I thank Dr. Shiaw for her professional academic instruction. I will be able to put what I have learned into practice, and I will use financial patterns analysis to prediction the future business as case study analysis.

Mastery Journal Reflection:  Month 7 (BIN610)
Full Sail University’s Patterns and Recognition (BIN610) course has met, and exceeded, my class-related expectations found in Figure 1 (below). Among the many valuable terms and tools I acquired this month, I was able to expand my pattern recognition skill set and learn more about Bayes’ Theorem, prior probability, posterior probability, and their relation to conditional probability. I was also able to begin research on my Capstone project and am excited to see how it develops over the next few months.
I’m happy to have been offered a unique opportunity (in the near future) to create a presentation related to methods my current employer could adopt and implement in order to make the business’ current processes and procedures a more efficient and effective system. I’m also in the process of honing specific skill sets and capabilities in order to become more specialized in certain areas that are in higher demand throughout the broad scope of the business intelligence industry.
Most information presented this month has immediately benefitted me, while other information will benefit me in my career upon graduation. I am particularly proud of the outcome of my restaurant trends project during this course. I have also located, catalogued, and reviewed many case studies that I plan to incorporate into my Capstone and professional career.
Thank you for your time,
Joe
