Every time I see it I get so confused. Why do people think Billy and Steve are a year apart? Theyre the same age. Theyre both seniors and they would have both graduated in 85'. Tommy H. would have never hung out with Billy were he not a senior. It's so strange the amount of times I've seen people claim otherwise at this point. Billy and Steve share the status of being "king" of Hawkins high. It makes no sense that Steve would be dethroned by an underclassmen or have any classes together if Billy was in a lower grade. Steve is the only member of the teens who is not in high school anymore. It's really important that Billy is the same age and year as he is. Saying otherwise or claiming Billy is younger than Steve feels like a disservice to both of their characters and their image as well as the equal footing presented in their scenes together.
