Done with this one. Did this as a little break from my main project, which is a bookmark. This is going on either my backpack or camera bag, haven’t decided which yet. Not particularly satisfied with how the red looks, I think I could have blended it more.

First time to 1) dick around with layer masks 2) make something inspired by lyrics, and 3) use gradient maps. Lyrics from Mitski’s I Don’t Smoke.

Decided to crochet this weekend, starting with Postmortem, a pattern that I’ve been eyeing for a while now. I prefer to work lace with charts, so I was considering charting the thing before making it, but decided against it because there were pictures in the pattern. There’s also a youtube video for it. I’ve had to frog a ton of rows since starting but otherwise it’s fun.

finally done with this! this is mitski's puberty 2 album cover, cross stitched (pattern by peristyle). this patch is going on either my camera bag or my backpack. this method of finishing the patch used too much thread for my taste, i might use a different method next time.

Today’s deeds: Brushing up on embroidery. The first stitch to practice is backstitching, which I did while my sister got decimated by a Bloodborne boss and we ate Jolibee fries. I haven’t done any art in half a year and crafts in even longer a period and it’s nice to enjoy stuff like these again.
#bik.png#who knew that getting even stitches is such a bitch…#my lines are skewed too because i didnt draw the guidelines straight hahah.#bik.wip
