Okay, but like imagine....clubbing/dancing with jake Lockley in a place where there is both desi and Latin American music playing. You teach each other the popular moves from your region, and Jake near suffers a stroke when nagada nagada starts playing, and you literally scream and pull out your best bhangra moves.
Please tell me if you would like to write on this because I already have made an entire Spotify playlist of the desi portion of the dance mix.
I AM HYPERVENTILATINGGG HELP
Also, Akka, I love you.

Warnings: Jake's filthy mouth ™️ (I had to, I love it), alcohol (drink safely yall)

“¡Amor! I told you not to pre-drink before we leave!” Jake gasped, snatching the tequila bottle away from your grasp.
“Baby, just one shot pleaseee…” you plead, throwing your arms around his midriff as he lifts the bottle away from you.
You knew that your husband was doing this for your own good and you loved him very much for doing so but you really liked tequila. On a daily basis, you are relatively shy and soft-spoken and reserved but when the alcohol hits your system, you have no shame and go absolutely nuts.
You and Jake loved to dance, it was one of your favorite past times together and the both of you would often collapse into each other's arms from exhaustion from the amount of dancing that you did. You would dance with him while the both of you cooked and cleaned and especially when a silly song comes on the radio or TV.
During your wedding, your parents had warned you not to bust a move in the heavy lehenga in front of your conservative relatives, but you couldn’t resist it. Not dancing at an Indian wedding? Absolutely atrocious idea. Not being able to dance at the celebration of your life? Even worse. You remember pulling Jake up with you to the dance stage and dancing till your legs gave way.
Recently, the both of you started to teach each other your favorite dance moves, just at random intervals of the day, which according to your neighbors was number two on the list of reasons why they filed a noise complaint.
“Jaan, I promise I will not make a fool of myself.” You say reaching up to get the bottle.
“Cariño, you’re my fool and I love seeing you make a fool of yourself but sometimes you get a little out of control, you know?” Jake grimaces slightly, stretching his arm higher to get out of your reach.
To say your husband gets slightly jealous is an understatement. Your mind flashes back to the time when you stood up on the bar table and started dancing for everyone, earning wolf whistles and absurd shouts that your drunk state couldn’t comprehend.
Jake had dragged you off the table and slung you over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes, carrying you away, shouting at the onlookers. Let's just say that you and husband are now no longer welcomed in that establishment.
“Fine, one shot, that's all, then you’re going slow on the drinks there alright?”
Now, what Jake should have done is poured out the shot for you and hid the bottle from your stupid ass. But instead, he hands you the bottle and walks into the bathroom to change. You grin at your chance and decide it was time to mess around with your husband. You pour a shot, lick the salt, down it and suck on the lime. When Jake didn’t appear, you cautiously poured another shot and repeated the steps again, eyeing the door. You sucked on the lime as you placed the bottle back and washed the shot glass.
“Ready to go?” You felt Jake’s lips on the base of your neck as he turned you around to face him. You stare at him, lime still in your mouth and he leans in and grabs the lime with his teeth, dropping it in the trash can beside you. You raise an eyebrow and you find your lips curling into a smirk.
Mhmm, what else does that mouth do, huh?
“Stop, or else date night is going to take a very different turn, amor.” Jake mirrored your smirk, putting on his newsboy cap and you rolled your eyes, grabbing his hand and your heels.
☾ .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Jake watches as you open the window of the cab and let your fingers be grazed by the wind, your legs draped over his thighs. You weren’t afraid to let the wind catch your hair, blowing your curls around your face as you blissfully smell the London air. Your lips twisted in an enchanted smile as you tipped your head back.
Jake can’t help but admire you, his wife, his everything. Your love had arrived unannounced to him, like an uninvited guest to his troubled heart. He was glad you decided to stay, to shower him with all you had and he feared that his place would get taken by someone else, someone more worthy than he ever would be.
But that fear drove him to love you more, to cherish every moment you ever had with him with more fervor. With that, he would do anything and everything for you, knowing that you revolved around his little chaotic world.
By the time you and Jake had arrived at the club, you could feel the alcohol numbing your senses. Jake had yet to notice the sudden change as he led you through the doors that open up to a dance floor. You stared in awe at the size of the floor before you and turned to grin at Jake who was already looking at you with a smile on his face.
Jake pulled you towards the bar and ordered as you watched people dance. The atmosphere was exhilarating and you could feel your body wanting to move with the music as its bass courses through you. You close your eyes and let the music envelope you, swaying slightly with its rhythm, your brain voiding all the sounds of people around you.
~ Becky G - Mayores~
“Can I have this dance, senorita?” Jake’s voice cuts through your bliss and he is in front of you, offering his hand.
You raised your hand, flashing the ring that Jake had slipped onto your finger a few years ago.
“Taken unfortunately,” you frowned, playfully.
“I wonder who the lucky bastard is. Nevertheless, I bet I could do better. Care to let me try?” Jake’s lips quirked into a smile, and you feigned hesitation slightly before taking his hand, letting him lead you to the dance floor.
Once you both were at the center, Jake spins you around and you twirl away from him but he catches your hand before you could get too far away. He pulls you towards him and you spin into his chest. Jake smirked as you kicked your leg up and let your back dip back with his supporting arm. You snap back up and search Jake’s eyes and all you see is mischief.
“Oh I can assure you that you’ll find what you’re looking for if you stare a little longer, princessa.” he leaned in and whispered, leaving tingles on your ear.
Before you could retort, he repeats the spin when you grab his opposite hand, twirling you away from him. Pulling you close again, Jake hooks his right arm under your back and left arm, picking you up and swirling you around, a move that the both of you perfected after watching a movie. A crowd starts building around you and Jake and cheers erupt around the dance floor with the move that Jake and you just pulled.
Loca
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Loca
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
“You are slightly insufferable, mystery man.” you huffed, trying to catch your breath after that move.
“Do you not like the way that I talk, dance, or hold you, hermosa? I bet your man couldn’t give you the same.” Jake steadied the both of you and grips your hips, dragging you flush against him.
“I - baby!” you squeal as he cuts you off by rapidly twirling you around. “I love it. That's why I’m saying that this would not work out.” you breathed once he steadied you once more.
Jake turns you around and you grind into him as he guides your hips to the rhythm of the music with his body, his arms and your arms crossed in front of you. As the music starts to dip to its end, you turn and Jake dips you down again, running his hand up your thigh and pulling you back.
Suddenly, you were interrupted by a sharp ring and Jake groaned, slipping his hand into his pocket to pull out his phone, glaring at it.
That was one thing about dancing with Jake, you’d almost forget that he is THE Moon Knight. You dreaded the sound of his phone, always knowing that your husband would be off to somewhere, doing something entirely dangerous. He was looking at you now, brown doe eyes big and you forced a small smile.
“I gotta go take this, mi alma, give me five.” Jake said, giving you a kiss as you nod.
Adjusting was the only way you could keep up with Jake Lockley. He always promised that he’d be back, never said goodbye and so far, he has never failed to keep the promise. You try not to think about what would happen if he ever decided to break that promise but you trusted him enough to make things work.
You watch him walk quickly to the exit before making your way past a bunch of overeager dancers to the DJ’s booth where they were taking song requests.
“Hello there, desi girl!” exclaimed the DJ in an instant before you could say anything.
You squinted and leaned closer to the DJ trying to observe his features.
“Oh wow you’re desi too!” you shouted over the loud music with a huge grin on your face.
“Yes ma’am, born and raised! The name is Jay. My boyfriend owns this club! How could I help you tonight?”
Quickly, you had pushed your previous request aside and gave him a list of songs that you wanted to surprise Jake with. The DJ listed every single one of the songs down, grinning from ear to ear.
“Amazing taste! Here with anyone special today?”
“Yea! My husband. I wanted to surprise him.” you said excitedly, smiling happily at the new friend you just made.
“Well, nice meeting you, hope you enjoy your night! Your tunes will be played shortly.” Jay shouts, sending a friendly wink your way.
Your heart is warm as you make your way to the bar, glancing around for any sign of your vigilante husband. When the coast was clear, you pulled a tiny wad of cash out of your bra and signal for the bartender.
“Tequila! Sat!” you giggle at the Good Doctor reference you made and waited for your shot.
After three shots of your favorite poison, you heard the blaring of the first song on your list. You smile as a group of nearby girls squeal and run to the dancefloor. One of the girls noticed you and dragged you by the arm into their gaggle.
~Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani - Dilliwaali Girlfriend~
You sang at the top of your lungs as you and the other girls acted out the famous scene from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Tere liye hi to signal tod taad ke
Aaya dilli wali girlfriend chhod chhaad ke
Ho tere liye hi to signal tod taad ke
Aaya dilli wali girlfriend chhod chhaad ke
Clearly the girls around you knew the choreography too as all of you matched your dance moves to the lyrics of the song. As the song speeds up, you swung your hips harder and shimmied your chest to the beat. There were claps and hoots from everyone around you and your dance group grew larger by the second.
You found yourself laughing and dancing with one of the girls as your arms fly around rhythmically. Your eyes suddenly caught a man staring at you from across the dancefloor and you knew you were in trouble when you saw the smirk curled onto his lips.
Jake watched with dark eyes and a knowing smile as you danced theatrically to your favorite song in the middle of the dance floor. He knew that you had been sneaking drinks with the way your arms and legs moved in sync. The man could read body language like it was an open book and the way your face lit up was a telltale sign that you had been drinking a little more than you should have.
Fortunately for you, Jake had a major weakness, and when you used it against him, it rendered him completely useless. You lowered your head and looked at him through your lashes, winking before throwing your head back in a laugh. It's a move that definitely got him to his knees and friendly anger surged through him as he shook his head.
The song changed and you beckoned Jake towards you with your index finger. You gulped as your husband walked towards you like a predator that was threatening to pounce. For a man who never fails to buy you flowers every Sunday, he sure looked scary.
~Jalebi Baby - Tesher~
He surprised you slightly by kissing your forehead and smiling at you. You looked up at him questioningly and he just shrugged.
“What? I married a stubborn woman. Ain’t nothing I can do about that, because I love that about you.” he said, cupping your face and sliding a hand onto your waist.
“Besides, I just want you to be safe, amor. I also know how to solve this issue, you know, for at least nine months and a little more.” he said smirking.
“Nine months? That's weirdly specif-'' you thought as Jake led you closer to the center of the dancefloor.
oh-
That son of a bitch.
Everybody tryna figure out your recipe
I'm just tryna get a piece, baby
I know that you wanna get crazy, crazy
Shawty, take it slow then cheti, cheti
Ban ja tu meri, Jalebi Baby (Ayy)
Grabbing your hips, your brain swam and you swooned as Jake pulled you closer to him till your back was flush against his chest. He slotted his face in your neck and you brought your hand up to run it through his curls and pulled his cap off, putting it on your head instead as Jake busied himself with moving the both of you to the rhythm of the music.
Jake spun you around and you gasped, placing your hand onto the cap to keep it from flying away. He pulls you close and bumps your shoulder as you nod understanding his little motion. The both of you burst into your best bhangra moves, something you had taught him when the both of you first heard this song.
I know the things, the things that you like
Your arms are out and above your head, thumbs and index fingers pressed together as you and Jake hop to the beat of the music, the classic dhamaal move, switching to the simple tap step, bedi and coming back to the dhamaal as the music drops.
Jake grabs your hand again as the second verse starts mouthing the words as you laugh and dance freestyle with him, and at that moment, it was just you, him and the music. The rest of the club had disappeared around you and all you could see was the stars in your husband's eyes and feel his energy emitting through your soul.
I know the things, the things that you like
You smile at Jake as he lifts you up and kisses you, and you know then that you’d give anything to feel this feeling over and over again.

A New Frontier: South Asian Fusion
In terms of any actual formal music knowledge, I come from the side of Carnatic music, the Indian classical music style, having been learning the mridangam for around ten years under my guru, Sri T.S Nandakumar. I am always eternally grateful for all that he has done for all of us students, and one of the many things I admire about sir is his willingness to explore unconventional avenues with the mridangam. The mridangam is a two-sided barrel drum usually played as an accompanying instrument in a Carnatic piece that may feature vocals or violin, and veena as well. Nandakumar sir is a renowned accompanying artist, but he’s also given his students many opportunities to perform like chamber concerts and arangetrams. One really unique thing he’s done is a large orchestra of mridangams and other Carnatic percussion instruments at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, which he’s done for multiple years and encouraged even younger students to practice and perform there. It’s unusual for the mridangam to take such a center stage like that, where you have around 100 players playing together in an epic display alongside veena and violin. It was also cool to see Nandakumar sir bringing in western drums into those performances as well, along with drum pads there and in other performances. Having that exposure from a young age really opened my eyes to the potential of Carnatic music elements in contexts that you don’t normally see, and I got curious about what else is capable. Carnatic music for example utilizes many, many different talams (time signatures) apart from just 4:4 (Adi in Carnatic music), and it would be really interesting to see how that could be utilized more generally.
youtube
South Asian fusion is a huge, diverse space that’s hard to really pigeon-hole because of how many types of South Asian music there are (Carnatic is just one, there’s also Hindustani, Sufi music, folk music, Bhangra, etc.), along with different genres that they are mixed with like jazz, rock, pop, etc. You had mingling in the past, like Ravi Shankar and The Beatles. Later on it grew, definitely a more recent phenomenon and likely accelerated due to immigration and assimilation in the west. Younger generations are really at the forefront on it  – you see a ton of high school and college clubs doing Indian music or dance fusion. Rutgers has many, including RU Dhol for example. Some of these student clubs lean more on the side of Bollywood-oriented stuff, and there are times that can overshadow other ways to explore the genres – my sister sometimes talks about how the South Asian fusion club she’s part of really neglects classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam or Kathak. In that club it’s seen as the less hip thing, and people will say “it’s cool that you’re so confident to perform that” rather than actually having an interest in it and the people who want to share it. Then again, I'm talking about high-school pettiness here – it's not like this everywhere. RU Dhol combines South Asian instruments and styles of playing with western equivalents. This performance places electric guitars next to the Indian classical violin style in a really fun way.
youtube
One of my biggest experiences with South Asian fusion is with Brooklyn Raga Massive. My aunt is a Bharatanatyam teacher, and in 2018 or so she had collaborated with a theater director for a production of Jungle Book, where her students performed Bharatanatyam in a song. After the show, we had met some of the other musicians involved in the show, since my cousin learns Carnatic singing, my sister Bharatanatyam, and I mridangam, and we talked to a percussionist who was part of Brooklyn Raga Massive. He had told us about them – they do daily events at a Prospect Heights venue along with bigger events and performances, and he encouraged us to come on a Thursday where they hold an open mic jam session. We definitely got excited about this, and we went one evening.
Tumblr media
The venue was a real hole in the wall type bar with a small stage and seating area in the back, and there was a decent and rather diverse crowd of people. Dim lights and creaky wooden floors, very aesthetic. It’s interesting because now they’ve grown immensely as an organization, and I don’t believe they still have events at this place. It was really cool to see the really different talents displayed there – one woman performed a really interesting singing performance which now I can’t pinpoint what style it was. You also had more traditional classical instruments like tabla and sitar. What’s really cool is that even though I was only in eight grade and my cousin was only in ninth grade, they gave both of us the opportunity to play with them, and they were super friendly and inviting, even despite any mistakes or hesitation I had. There were no judgments, just the spirit of experimenting and playing. I still look at that night with a lot of fondness.
What I played that day, it was really incredible to get that opportunity and for it to be so low-key and welcoming. My cousin is also there on the stage (dressed in white), he’s an incredibly skilled Carnatic vocalist.
Recently I was inspired by all this and for my midterm assignment for the class I’m writing this for, I made a music track with mridangam and electronic effects in Ableton (free trial came clutch). I initially spent a lot of time worrying about doing it right and perfectly planning everything, but it only came together when I just let go of that and just messed around, re-arranging recordings of me playing and layering effects. Just doing it was fun, and I learned a lot from it.
youtube
shameless plug to my video
There’s a free-ness with something like this that’s a really different experience from traditional Carnatic music. At the same time, there’s a level of playfulness with Carnatic music too, as when you’re playing on stage you don’t practice with the other artist beforehand, and what happens there is often unexpected and exciting, and I’m reminded of that when I see jazz music too. To me says a lot about the inherent commonalities in what makes music so rewarding to make and experience.

Release: March 17, 2017
Lyrics:
You know it's the place I need But you got me walking circles like a dog on a lead The doctors say I'm crazy, that I'm eight miles thick I'm like the taste of Macaroni on a seafood stick You got me switched on baby, like electric Eel And I'm tight with Axel Foley, that's just how I feel Like a grapefruit and a magic trick The prodigal son I'm walking I'm walking I'm walking I walk so quick
And it just don't mean a thing We've been waiting far too long We'll play it out again This is just my serenade
You're in love with a Psycho You're in love with a Psycho And there's nothing you can do about it I got you running all around it
You're in love with a Psycho You're in love with a Psycho And there's nothing you can do about it You're never gonna be without it
Jibber-jabber at the bargain booze Reciting Charles Bukowski, I got nothing to lose And I wait for you to follow me, to share my chips But you're walking You're walking You walk You walk so quick
Nobody's gonna take you there I stick around for the thousand yard stare I go to sleep in a duffle bag I'm never up, never down, down, down, down
You're in love with a Psycho You're in love with a Psycho And there's just nothing you can do about it I got you running all around it
You're in love with a Psycho You're in love with a Psycho And there's nothing you can do about it You never gonna be without it
Maybe this will be the fine solution Maybe this way, we'll find a solution But we're far too lost, we gotta find love
You're in love with a Psycho You're in love with a Psycho And there's nothing you can do about it I got you running all around it
You're in love with a Psycho Tu amor es muy loco And there's nothing you can do about You're never gonna be without it
Songwriter: Sergio Pizzorno
SongFacts:
This is a song by English alternative rock band Kasabian. It was released on 17 March 2017 as the first single from their sixth studio album, 'For Crying Out Loud' (2017). It peaked at No. 62 on the UK Singles Chart in 2017, the first time a lead single from a Kasabian album failed to reach the top 40 in the country. It was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for chart sales exceeding 600,000 units in the UK in August 2022. It also won "Best Song of 2017" at the Q Awards.
The music video was heavily criticised in the UK media by mental health advocates and charities for reinforcing stereotypes around mental illness, and were branded by the director of the Time to Change mental health charity as "unhelpful, damaging, and disappointing".
The song received its first radio airplay on 17 March 2017, having leaked the day before. The song was also released on 17 March 2017 as a digital download, CD single, and 10" vinyl and made available on most streaming services. The single reached number 62 in the UK Singles Chart spending 5 weeks on the top 100 and reached number 24 on the Scottish Singles Chart.
Kasabian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno explained to The Independent, "The story of that song is a man or a woman who has visions of being the prodigal son, thinking he's friends with Axel Foley… having an argument outside an off-licence and reciting Bukowski to win back the person they love.
The song received mixed to positive reviews from critics upon release. Will Hankey from The Edge gave the song 3/5 stars, stating that the track "starts very well, opening with a Krautrock-like surge forward that soon anchors into Kasabian's familiar territory of live hip-hop beats [but] while this is amiable and still an enjoyable listen, the song still never really goes anywhere"
The music video for the single was released on 30 March 2017 and was directed by W.I.Z. It features frequent Kasabian collaborator Noel Fielding and actor Stephen Graham, as well as members of Kasabian and Bhangra dance group Four by Four. They all play inmates of the fictional West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, a nod to the title of the band's third album.

Some of the non train related artwork. This was from college (and before). (top) I sketched the ex hubby, then scanned n coloured it digitally. (middle left was an assignment from around 2007? We had to copy a famous artist’s work. I chose sobha Singh. This was what I copied (see below - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipxlZx9pzAuB9jfRtu4KQBVtDuuPKxKst1QmDFZJw51GZ5NGwAk8o7ebNM-4KfQQueMyauDJFAWFtOMSgUrcBQ8KfxtHcIPXDL5nXRM6QDFNaeSunlSdXVBiu2pKQNX_1-fxDHXw/s4096/Image+17-06-20+at+11.00+PM.JPG ), I did a dhol in (middle right) for one of arsehats’ buddies. This is a big Punjabi drum traditionally used in Bhangra. (Bottom left) was part two of the above assignment - we then had to do a similar artwork to what we copied in our own style. I tried to depict a healthy union between Arsehat and I. I was naive, and thought that he’d eventually grow to love me. I also pushed aside me own doubts about intimacy and attraction, attributing it to stress, depression, and the like. (Bottom right) self portrait I did in college here in NYC at LaGuardia around 2017.
Tumblr media
This was from a time when I was exploring me heritage, and was more proud to display it publicly. I was more proud (still am) to be mixed race (Indian/mongolian/european mix), and proud of me marriage, complicated as it was at the time. Damn I was naive.
After the divorce, things changed. I changed. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I was. In some ways, it’s admittedly an ongoing process, although I’m happily secure about some parts (not needing romantic/sexual relationships) now. In the course of a summer, I was both an orphan and a divorcee. I had hoped to be neither, although it’s usually inevitable that we eventually lose our parents. I just wasn’t ready for it. All of those sideblinded me though, and I was more lost than now.
I’m grateful for Thomas and the gang, because they helped me bridge some gaps, and find comfort. Trains are extremely cathartic. They’re a mostly guilt free thing that can provide enjoyment, and inspire the cranial senses to enjoy things you take for granted - gaming, art, arts and crafts, writing, film production, etc. give them sexy faces and interesting personalities and wow, it makes things even more fun.

Exploring the Rhythmic World of [Bhangra Music Band]: A Deep Dive into Their Cultural Impact and Musical Journey
Introduction
In the vibrant landscape of world music, Bhangra stands out with its pulsating rhythms and lively melodies. At the heart of this genre is [Bhangra Music Band], a group that has not only mastered the traditional beats but also stirred a pot of controversy with their unique approach. This post takes a deep dive into the cultural impact and musical journey of [Bhangra Music Band], exploring how their artistry has both preserved and provoked the world of Bhangra.
The Roots of [Bhangra Music Band]
[Bhangra Music Band] began their journey deeply rooted in the rich soil of Punjabi tradition. Originating from the fertile lands of Punjab, their music initially echoed the pure, unadulterated sounds of rural life, celebrations, and the spirit of the community. The use of traditional instruments like the dhol, tumbi, and algoza, combined with authentic lyrics, made them the torchbearers of conventional Bhangra.
The Turn Towards Controversy
The controversy began when [Bhangra Music Band] started experimenting with their sound. Integrating elements of Western music genres like hip-hop, EDM, and pop, they began redefining what Bhangra could be. This shift was met with mixed reactions. Purists viewed it as a dilution of tradition, a move away from the soul of Bhangra. Conversely, others saw it as a necessary evolution, a step towards globalizing and preserving the genre in a rapidly changing world.
Cultural Impact: More Than Music
[Bhangra Music Band]'s impact goes beyond just music; it's a cultural phenomenon. By blending traditional Bhangra with contemporary influences, they've created a bridge between generations and geographies. Their music has resonated with the Punjabi diaspora, reconnecting them with their roots, while also appealing to global audiences. This fusion has sparked discussions about cultural purity versus evolution, making [Bhangra Music Band] a central figure in debates about the preservation and transformation of cultural heritage.
The Global Stage and [Bhangra Music Band]
The band's international success has brought Bhangra to global stages, often for the first time. Their performances at international music festivals and collaborations with global artists have introduced Bhangra to diverse audiences. However, this global exposure has also raised questions about cultural appropriation. Critics argue that as Bhangra becomes more mainstream, it risks losing its identity, becoming just another element in the global music industry's repertoire.
The Future of Bhangra with [Bhangra Music Band]
As [Bhangra Music Band] continues to innovate, they are not only redefining Bhangra but also shaping its future. They stand at a crossroads where they have the power to influence how this traditional genre will be perceived and practiced in the coming years. Will they maintain the delicate balance between tradition and innovation, or will they lean more towards global trends?
Conclusion
The journey of Bhangra Music Band in the rhythmic world of Bhangra is a narrative filled with vibrant beats, cultural dialogues, and a dash of controversy. As they continue to straddle the line between traditional authenticity and modern innovation, they challenge us to rethink our perceptions of cultural evolution. Their story is not just about music; it's about identity, heritage, and the ever-evolving nature of art in our globalized world.
