it's always crazy to me when some fics or some people try to paint sejanus' struggles as if it's because he's new money in the elite, and not because his situation is a very clear reference to the rise of violence and hatred against immigrants around the time when tbosas got published

but that's just me

#besides the fact that he's very obvsly immigrant coded #I find curious because tbosas was posted around a time of an immigration crisis #imo at least the coding was meant to be obvious #and it's so shocking to me bc I've seen plenty of fics and specially modern aus ignoring this #once I've seen an au that treated sejanus' move to the capitol as if it was a move of neighbourhoods and I went whaaaat #anyway that's just me complaining #maybe deleting later #my silly little posts
