Teaching a class of six-year-old children was not always easy. You couldn't plan a day in advance, because every day something new happened that surprised you and often meant that you had to face new challenges.
But today everything has gone well so far.
Today was your class's first field trip of the year.
Your path had led you to Paycor Stadium, also known as the home of the Bengals. Here you would be able to take a look behind the scenes and get a better insight and impression of the stadium.
While an employee of the stadium walked in front and told the children something, your task was to keep an eye on your class and make sure that none of them stepped out of line and got lost in one of the many corridors of the large stadium.
Half the class wore their football jerseys with their favorite Bengals star on the back or other team merch. You knew exactly what big fans your Bengals class were, so you pushed hard to get today's field trip approved by the school administration.
But you'd be lying if you hadn't wanted to go on this trip yourself. Because you've been a Bengals fan since you were little, so you've hardly ever missed a game.
"Miss y/l/n?" a small voice caught your attention, while a small hand tugged at the hem of your shirt.
"Are you alright, Isabella?" you ask as you lower your gaze and look into her big blue eyes.
"Can I stay with you?"
Isabella had always been the shyest and smallest of your class. And she was also the one who needed closeness and affection from you the most.
At first, the little redhead had entered your classroom crying every morning, until at some point she had gained your trust and since then had come to school in the morning beaming with joy, but still sought your closeness every day.
"Of course," you reply with a gentle smile and reach for Isabella's hand. Together, you follow the other fifteen children towards the main locker room, where the Bengals are preparing for the game.
"And here we have the dressing room, where your favorite players change, go through a few moves beforehand..." as the young man giving the tour begins to tell you a little novel about the dressing room and its details, you stop listening because the inside of the dressing room is not only fascinating for your students, but also for you.
Previously, only small sections of the cabin had been shown on Instagram or YouTube, but now, while you were standing in it, it seemed much bigger.
All around the room, each player had their own little space with a kind of cupboard that seemed to have an incredible number of compartments for everything.
Apart from the jerseys and the name badges hanging on each cupboard, the dressing room was quite tidy.
"Miss y/l/n? May we have a closer look?" Isaac, one of your students, asked you while countless googly eyes looked at you.
"Of course, but please be careful, yes? We won't break anything," you remind them lovingly, to which you receive a nod of the head in response and the children run off shortly afterwards to take a closer look at the corner of their favorite players.
Isabella is also among them, so you can use the time to take a closer look yourself.
But your legs actually carry you, as if by magic, over to the court of number 94, Sam Hubbard. Your favorite player.
Apart from his jersey, two pairs of shoes standing neatly on the shelf and a bottle of water, there is still nothing to be seen and reveals nothing about what kind of person Sam Hubbard is in his private life.
Nevertheless, you are satisfied with this sight, because who could ever claim to be standing in the dressing room where their favorite team and their favorite player spend several times a week?
"Miss y/l/n. Are you taking pictures of us?" a voice from your student called out to you, causing you to take your eyes off Sam's seat and run over to your students, where you began snapping countless photos.
- - -
"And now we come to the most interesting part for some of you. Surely you know where the interviews happen after or before the games, right?" with a broad grin on his lips, your leader looks out into the crowd of your class before pushing open the brown double doors and revealing the interior of the conference room, in which there is a desk with three seats and countless other chairs in the room.
A murmur is heard from your class before the leader signals them to go inside the room.
Your class starts talking loudly as they walk around the room and begin to explore.
With a smile on your face, you watch your six-year-olds walk around the room, sit down at the lectern and pretend to conduct their own interviews.
"Excuse me, miss?" The young man who has been showing you around the inside of the stadium for the last hour stands next to you and gives you a friendly smile.
"Yes?"
"We have another surprise for your class. Would it be possible for them all to sit quietly on the chairs in ten minutes?"
"Of course," you reply with a smile and shortly afterwards the guide disappears from the room and closes the door behind him, leaving you alone in the room with your class.
You watch your little charges for a few minutes until you then ask them to all sit quietly on the chairs, which works like a charm.
The children are whispering and talking excitedly while Isabella, who is sitting next to you, grabs your hand and snuggles up to you.
It takes a few minutes before the door next to the desk opens and the whispering in the room stops once and for all.
"There's Sam Hubbard!" whispers one of your students, not exactly quietly, so that countless sentences like; "Where?" "Really?" "How cool!" sound out.
And sure enough, Sam Hubbard appears in the room shortly afterwards in his training clothes, leaving you breathless for a few seconds and your heart starts pounding in your chest.
Sam Hubbard really is standing in front of you.
"Hello kids!" he greets everyone with a friendly smile before dropping into the chair behind the desk and starting to explain who he is and what position he plays for the Bengals.
As the children listen attentively to Sam's words, you are literally frozen in place as you can hardly believe that your favorite player is actually sitting in the same room as you and is now, of all things, inspiring your class and making for an unforgettable day.
"I thought you might like to try out a kind of press conference. Each of you can ask me a question and I'll answer it honestly. But think about your question carefully, because you all only have one," Sam begins and his gaze wanders across the room to you, where his eyes remain fixed on you, making the heat rise in your cheeks.
Embarrassed, you begin to push a strand of hair behind your ear and look over at Isabella, pretending you need to keep an eye on her so that this situation isn't deemed too embarrassing.
"Well then, let's start here at the front. Please tell me your name and your question," Sam's voice rings through the room again, causing your heart to quicken a little.
And you start to wonder how you're going to make it through the next few minutes.
- - -
"I-I...I'm Isabella and my question is, do you like dogs?" Isabella plucks at her shirt, embarrassed, while she asks her question and continues to hold your hand with her left hand.
In the last forty-five minutes, Sam has answered an incredible number of questions about football, school and his favorite food, which you were sure he had heard countless times before.
But Sam hadn't been bored or annoyed once, but had taken an incredible amount of time for the children and their questions, so that he had answered every question in great detail.
"I really like dogs. I have two myself. I spend a lot of time with them when I'm not training or playing" Sam explains to her with a smile, whereupon Isabella nods contentedly and then sits down again.
"So, I hope I was able to answer all your questions. Thank you for your great questions and I hope you enjoyed it."
"But Miss y/l/n hasn't even asked a question yet!" almost indignantly, Isaac puts his hands on his hips as he looks over at Sam, making him laugh slightly.
"That's right, buddy, you're right. So Miss y/l/n, what's your question?" Sam looks over at you intently, causing your cheeks to turn slightly pink again and now you're the one getting nervous.
Your head seems to have gone blank, so you need a few seconds to collect yourself before you ask your question.
"What does your perfect day off look like?"
"Hmm..." Sam starts to think for a few minutes before continuing. "First of all, I sleep in. I guess we all like to sleep late, don't we? And then a hearty breakfast. Then later, a big walk with my dogs, then some family time and or some time for myself to catch up on series or movies that have come out and I haven't watched yet."
Nodding, you look over at Sam to silently thank him for his answer.
He gives you a gentle smile before asking the children to line up so he can sign their jerseys.
Everyone dutifully complies and, with a proud smile on your lips, you watch your protégés get their jerseys signed, beaming like honey-cake horses.
"I guess it's your turn this time too, huh?" Sam asks you with a broad grin, as the line has progressed so far that you are the penultimate in line.
Unconsciously, you had placed yourself in the line to bring up the rear.
"Uhm... I actually don't have anything with me."
"Don't worry," he replies with a grin and starts to sign an autograph card, which he then presses into your hand.
"You have a really great class," he almost gushes as he winks with a grin and then says goodbye to you and your class.
After Sam has left the room and you have calmed your class down, you take a look at the autograph card to get a closer look.
And what you see on the card makes your heart start to race.
Your class was really wonderful, you seem to have a really good handle on the little ones. I would love to hear more about you and your class if you would like, give me a call Sam :)

How can we get a nice little war going?
- Sgt Archibald Cutter (Cary Grant) in Gunga Din (1939)
Three British soldiers stationed in India find themselves at the centre of an investigation into the sudden uprising among the indigenous Indian population. The titular character Gunga Din is a faithful servant to the British army who longs to be a soldier himself. Or at least that’s how my grandfather explained to me as we watched this film as children. I didn’t leave much of an impression on me then until it did later when I re-watched again as an adult. Only this time I was a returning British army officer just finished a tour in Afghanistan. Somehow the latter day ‘band of brothers’ tale melted my cynicism and enjoyed watching it again.
Based on the poem by Rudyard Kipling, Gunga Din stars Cary Grant, Victor McLaglen and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. as Cutter, MacChesney and Ballantine respectively. They are joined by Sam Jaffe as Din. Ballantine is about to retire from the military to be with his wife Emmy (Joan Fontaine) while his pals want him to take another tour. The film opens not with these three men but with the ambush of a British army caravan who take on an unassuming band of Indian travelers who kill them in their sleep. When the troop never returns the military begins to worry, a concern that is justified when communicating with one of their bases and communication is suddenly silenced.
Tumblr media
Extricated from a massive bar brawl over a fake treasure map, the three soldiers are punished by leading an expedition to the small village where the British telegraph operator and army base was stationed. There, their group is slowly picked off by the Indian residents who led the original assault only to be done in by the expert brawling of the three. They uncover the presence of a dangerous rebellion that will settle for nothing but the utter destruction of the British army. Their plans are further enhanced when Cutter goes off with Din in search of a temple of gold where they hope to find the impetus to encourage Ballantine to re-join, leading to his capture.
Aside from the feature's ability to tell a swiftly-paced, exciting yarn about British rule in India in the 1890s, it shows Cary Grant, Victor McLaglen and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., as a trio of happy-go-lucky British army sergeants who typify the type of hard-bitten non-coms described by Kipling in his famed 'Barrack Room Ballads.'
Though the picture draws heavily on the Ballads for atmosphere and inspiration, and doesn't scruple to use Kipling himself, the brilliantly talented young war correspondent, as a minor character (it seems he dashed off the famous poem in time for the Commandant to read it over the water carrier's grave), the only historical or literary authority for it seems to have been an original story by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur.
Tumblr media
In this case, "original" may be taken to signify that the story is quite unlike other predecessors in the same genre, except possibly "The Lives of a Bengal Lancer," "Beau Geste," "The Lost Patrol" and "Charge of the Light Brigade." The parallels - some of them doubtless unavoidable - may be charitable excused on the ground that two memories are better than one.
So the basis of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original story from the barrack ballad, is the outbreak of the Thugs, cruel religious marauders, who revolted against English troops in India late in the 19th century, 50 years after they had been originally put down. It is the constant and brutal warfare that they wage, almost from the opening scene until the sweeping battle climax, which forms the plot structure.
What follows is a powerfully staged fight between the British and the Thug hordes near the Khyber Pass forms a hair-raising climax as Gunga Din, regimental water carrier, fulfills his ambition, even though as a dead hero.
Cary Grant gives one of my favourite performances here. He’s charming and energetic without the need to be the center of attention, which he shares equally with his co-stars. McLaglen is a dominating presence and Fairbanks Jr. stands mostly in the background. The three work quite well together, which adds a level of camaraderie important to the story.
Tumblr media
As for Gunga Din himself, it seems rather a pity that he should receive fourth billing in his own picture. Yet for all the dash cut by the three stars, Cary Grant, Victor McLaglen and Douglas Fairbanks Jr., it is the humble, ascetic, stooped, yet somehow sublime, figure of Sam Jaffe that one remembers. "An' for all 'is dirty 'ide, 'e was white, clear white, inside, when 'e went to tend the wounded under fire," said the poet, and the sentiment, Victorian and patronising as it may be, echoes in the heart. There is infinite humility, age-old patience and pity, in the way old Din kneels to offer water to the living and the dying. And, though bent under the weight of his perspiring water-skin, his agility in dodging bullets is marvellous to behold. As Sam Jaffe plays him, Gunga Din is a better man than any in the cast.
Much like other films of the period, Sam Jaffe’s performance as Gunga Din looks from our current perspective of ‘Indian face’ a tad ‘problematic’ (as the SJW speak goes). True, it’s festooned with tics and stereotypes that convey the character without adding much depth. Yet, in spite of that, Jaffe injects passion and vigour into the role that enables the audience to form a very deep empathetic link to his desires to succeed and become a real soldier.

my completely arbitrary guesses at how likely it is (percentage wise out of a possible 100% chance) that taylor attends each game left in the Chiefs regular season. my experience with this is i am a casual swiftie and i was born in Missouri and raised a die hard chiefs fan and still know only the bare minimum about football.
Thursday 10/12/2023, playing the Denver Broncos in KC: like a 10% chance, maybe less. premier of Eras Tour movie is the day before, the wide release is the day after, i just don't see it.
Sunday 10/22/2023, playing LA Charges in KC: like a 70% chance, it's at home and it should be a good game, but maybe she's busy getting ready for tour/releasing 1989 TV.
Sunday 10/29/2023, playing Denver Broncos in Denver: idk man like a 15% chance? who tf would wanna go to Denver this close to Halloween and this soon after 1989 TV release when you won't even get to spend any time with Travis because the teams leave away games *immediately* after the game is over.
Sunday 11/05/2023, playing Miami Dolphins in Germany: even though this is the Big International Game (and imo the *real* start to their season), the tour starts again in four days in South America, so...maybe like a 30% chance.
Weekend 11/10/2023 - 11/12/2023 Buenos Aires Eras Tour Concert: Travis *might* be able to go, it is on their bye week, but with the season ramping up and training schedules (also depending on if he's injured or something) I doubt he'd get enough time off to go, so I'll say 25%.
Monday 11/20/2023, playing Philadelphia Eagles in KC: GOD I WOULD LOVE FOR HER TO GO TO THIS GAME but I don't think she will, she'll probably still be recovering/travelling/planning for the next show, so I'll say 15% for the Superbowl rematch of the sister cities.
Sunday 11/26/2023, playing Las Vegas Raiders in Vegas: ....are you serious?? she has a SHOW that night, absolutely **ZERO** 0% chance she will NOT be there.
Sunday 12/03/2023, playing Green Bay Packers in Green Bay: she'll be on break from tour, but Wisconsin in December? miserable. 55% chance.
Sunday 12/10/2023, playing Buffalo Bills in KC: not gonna lie to you Swifties, this is gonna be a ROUGH game even if it is at home, even rougher than the Dolphins. personally i think Taylor should come as moral support, lol, but she might be busy, so I'll say an 85% chance.
Monday 12/18/2023, playing New England Patriots in Foxborough MA: if the Patriots don't get their act together this'll be an easy game (barring injuries and stuff), but it IS in MA and not NY or KC or LA or any of her other bases, soooo i'll say 60% chance.
Monday 12/25/2023, playing Las Vegas Raiders in KC: absolutely not, it's christmas day!! she'll be spending it with her family most likely. lord knows the players would love to! 5% chance.
Sunday 12/31/2023, playing Cincinnati Bengals in KC: this one is a little more likely but (hopefully) Joe Burrow will be all healed up by this time and this will again be a big bad game, the Bengals and the Chiefs have become HUGE rivals with the Mahomes/Burrow rivalry going on. it *is* at home, but it is *also* New Years Eve, which again taylor will probably want to spend with family. i'll say 25% chance.
Sunday 01/07/2024, playing LA Charges in LA: honestly the odds of her coming to this game are pretty good! again, should be a good game, and LA is a good 'away game' spot for her too. i'll say 75% chance.

Village tour experience in Bangladesh:
Tumblr media
Who does not like the quiet atmosphere of the village after the busy city life. Mud roads, green fields full of crops, mud houses add another dimension to the village look. Today's presentation is about the experience of visiting such a village
Village Tour Plan:
I sometimes travel to different villages to taste a bit of freedom from this busy city life. Sometimes the village is part of the remote areas of Bangladesh and sometimes it is the different Pahari areas of Bangladesh.
As a result of traveling for so long, I have come to understand that, although the villages of each place have their own traditions, culture and lifestyle, villages are unique and unique in one respect. That is the uncomplicated mindset and the genuine kindness of nature. One thing to be noted is that like many other people of Dhaka, my family roots are rooted in the village.
The mind was also very tired of the hustle and bustle of urban life. So, I decided to travel to that small village Tarutia during the last Eid holiday.
Sirajganj is not very far from Dhaka travel route. Soon after the train left Dhaka city, the scenery on both sides began to change gradually. Once the familiar urban signs gradually disappeared, the green nature caught the eye.
First Day at Village House:
As soon as I reached the village, I noticed that the scenery here is more beautiful. Fields of various crops are scattered here and there. And the dense forest can be seen from a distance. After enjoying the sweetness of nature, I reached my village home in no time. I really felt the pull of my soul with them in that absolute hospitality.
I saw a unique form of nature in rural Bengal. Everywhere you look in rural Bengal, there is an abundance of greenery. The winding roads of the village fascinate us deeply. The immense softness in rural Bengal makes us fall in love with the village. no So the people of the city rush to our village Bangla for some leisure time. It is not counted how many poets and literary writers have written poems impressed by this sweet form of rural Bengal.
Finally:
I returned to my very familiar city life after spending several days in such a beautiful environment surrounded by free nature. I brought with me a whole lifetime of memories, and I left behind all the pride and hearty love of my urban life.
After returning, it was a bit uncomfortable to adapt to the busy life of the city for a few days. I decided to go back to my beloved village very soon to smell the earth near the bosom of nature. Until then, this experience of traveling to the village of Bangladesh will remain intact in my memory.

Tour packages typically include all the essentials, such as accommodations, meals, and guided tours, so travelers can focus on enjoying their vacation. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, Andaman tour packages can be customized to suit your specific needs. Additionally, these packages are designed to make sure you don’t miss out on local experiences like trying the Andamanese seafood delicacies or taking a glass-bottom boat ride to explore the underwater coral reefs.
