I had an ingrown toenail that I’ve been meaning to get a friend to numb & trim back for me and now after 8 shifts straight it is instead a whopping paronychia and while I would still very much like some lidocaine I am post-night and strongly considering just finding something sharp and poking it myself

#but i will go to sleep and let her drain it with better technique and some analgesia later today #but wow my toe looks awful i'm kinda impressed this has never happened before #benefits of having residency friends: someone's got a stash of lido somewhere #bc nails gross me out and I would like a nice digital block thanks #spork talks #medblr #residency #i know that odds are slim it would be pseudomonal #but like my feet are sweaty and gross and have been in socks in shoes w/ vent holes in the ICU #but we will see if we can get source control #bc otherwise i should prob actually see my PCP for antibiotics lol
