hello <3 spoilers but also fun fact....! the vagrant, instead of being completely consumed by the demonic essence eating away at his soul and body, will in fact survive it, mostly gain control over it (though he is considerably Less Human in appearance due to amount in which his flesh has been consumed by that time) and will actually live into modern times <3 he ends up meeting Artemis at some point. there's also another AU where Artemis' rival/enemy, Lord Schwarz (The Worst[tm]. also a very powerful big baddie vampire lord) lowkey hires and sends the wandering exorcist to kill artemis, knowing just how powerful he is and what kind of reputation he has. <3

#( ooc )#( tbd )#just super late night ramblings but ghydfhudg #in that au it typically can branch off into either direction whereas it Doesn't Work (bc artemis isnt a true demon)#and instead. artemis and the vagrant end up at a stalemate. so artemis strikes a deal with V :) not just any deal though. a soul deal. on #one* where artemis lends some of his own power to the vagrant.#so he can kill Lord Schwarz instead. ;)) V loses that power once the deal has been fulfilled. but he also gets paid in whatever form he #asks so !! its a very good deal <3333 the vagrant very likely asks artemis to destroy him. he has lived long enough and his existence #has and will always be a threat to the world should he continue to exist. and so far? Artemis has been one of very few #beings that he's been unable to actually find a way to kill.
