therapist asks me to explain what church was like for me as a kid and really emphasizes the "if you're ready to talk about this" and "if it's not too heavy" but before he finishes the sentence i am vibrating in my seat ready to talk about my special interest, the most evil religion ever invented

#op #being an autistic child in fundie church is its own circle of hell and it's my right to sperg out about it as an adult #he knew who joel osteen is ! i got to explain the pledge of allegiance to the bible !#and speaking in tongues and laying of hands etc etc #and how it feels to only get to talk about your traditions as a joke when despite the fact you've disowned them it's depressing #how do you engage with your history when it's evil history. how do you validate that part of yourself when it's fascism.#we can laugh when i tell you i never had the gift of tongues but i can't explain the feeling of alienation
