Local Competition

One of the Local Competitors for my business is Niagara College Athletics' Intramurals. They target the same market as me (students) and have the strength of offering free intramurals. Their main weakness is the mixture of skill levels as it's not as friendly for beginners.

Disc Golf Scene is another competitor of mine. They do a good job of posting disc golf tournaments all across Canada. They have many connections and are closely aligned with the Professional Disc Golf Academy (PDGA). Their only real weakness is tailoring their business to beginners, their business is made for people who are already interested in the sport so my business would not be targeting the same audience.

The other local competition I have is recreational disc golf. This is not a business, itself however it can pose a threat because if people want to participate in disc golf they can easily just do it on their own at any time, all they have to do is buy a disc. What makes my event more attractive is the socialization of playing with your friends and meeting new people. The disc golf starter sets also come at a lower price than they would get if they ordered it on their own.
