Correct me, but I think I've watched somewhere that patho knows when you die, and slightly change [things?] when you reload last save. Make it even [harder?] Have you ever been in this situation? I haven't played yet and idk if it encourages me or not (I love challenge but get annoyed easily)
pathologic 2, yes :3 in patho 1/classic HD, while she gets frustrating fast you can savescum your way through her easy peasy. you can save when you want and have a quicksave system [use it. god use it].
pathologic 2 has both a new set of rules for saving (=you can only save at specific points) and a death(s) system that adds penalties to you each time you die, and applies them across saves, so even if you reload before your death the penalty will still apply to you.
i knew of this before i started my playthrough (i've mentioned it a few times but i had watched entire LPs of both games as i usually do for most games i've ever loved before decided that Oh I Need Her & played both games after that) so i was extra careful, but i still went through 3 rounds of death/penalties. while they make the game harder (because it's. already hard lol), they're... like manageable... mostly. my advice: BE A PUSSY. don't fight. hell naw. i'm not much of a #gamer so my reflex for attacks are weak so i mostly. avoided. pussying out. some mgs stealth mission going on my head at all times. also don't hesitate to fuck around with the difficulty settings lol. #pussyingout

So I'm not sure what substance you're actually referring to lol
Long answer:
In case you mean the smutty romantasy aspect (which wasn't my first reading of the question but the books being seen as pure porn is weirdly common on instagram so idk), then i actually read a truly brain-melting amount of fanfiction which often includes smut. I genuinely consider these books pretty vanilla in comparison and have done full rants about people who think otherwise.
In case you mean that it's just a badly-worldbuilt fantasy novel with questionable plot choices, then there are definitely some things i don't like about it. I don't think the worldbuilding makes a lot of sense if you out it under a microscope, and i think that there are a lot of writing decisions that were made with so little thought that i can't actually fathom how they happened. There's also an aspect of gender essentialism that drives me up the wall (not limited to acotar but a frequent occurrence therein) and truly sometimes i wish these alpha males would get their asses handed to them in a way that would actually humble them.
That said.
It was/is a really immersive series for me to read (which plays nice with my adhd), with characters i like and want to spend time with, and a reasonable expectation of a happy ending (a hallmark of the romance genre that i deeply appreciate). Its an indulgent, vividly-written daydream with a protagonist that reminds me of myself and overcomes depression that reads like mine, dressed up with a fantasy aesthetic that was, at the time, just outside my usual fantasy settings. At the time that i first read it, it was truly novel to me because i hadn't dipped into romantasy as a genre yet, but now it more or less gives me the same nostalgic comfort I'd get from rereading harry potter, only without the guilt of being an adult who thinks jkr can get fucked but hasn't completely excised harry potter from her life.
Short answer:
Its fun and its not that serious, and I'm very tired of everything being not fun and always serious so. Hashtag fae smut life i guess :P
7. What is your favorite book cover?
Idk that i really have a favorite but i *did* specifically buy this acotar cover set (which meant i had to get a whole other set of hardcovers to put them on) because i hated the updated covers so much, so i assume that counts

(They're not perfect but they're better than the neon covers on my paperbacks)

The boys truly has some of if not the best marketing I've seen. It's insane ????? The ACTUAL SONGS with music videos that are legit bangers??? Never truly vanish?? License to drive lmaoooo. The Vought social media accounts?? Putting out interviews with the characters, the deeps Vought plus show?? The statement they just put on twitter about what starlight said that mirrors the media damage control gaslighting shit actual companies do. They are put their whole ass into it and I respect it. And the best thing is the fans commenting like it's all real and it's so funny. People hashtaging #voughtliedpeopledied or saying on the music video something like how translucent saved their sisters life when she fell in the showers after her HS volley ball practice I'm cackling the whole thing is ingenious and so immersive it just adds an extra something to the enjoyment of the show. Also ps: Erin Moriarty can SING and that's on facts.
EXACTLY!! Which was why I thought we were gonna get more songs because you have Jensen and Erin - and not for nothing, pretty sure all of them could carry a tune. Only one who didn't have to worry was Karl.
But yeah the immersion is perfect and, honestly, could be used as a case study for the future of social media marketing for television shows. The next step in how it has been.

ART SCHOOL | INTERVIEW WITH JUSTINE JONES
Baltimore based artist and illustrator Justine Jones creates her vein of psychedelic fantasy horror drawings–filled with tiny black lines and an occasional pop of bright colors–which have been featured on the covers of Kobold Press and Warlock magazine. Using the hashtag #VisibleWomen to amplify the voices and portfolios of women comic artists, Justine has be able to do more illustrative work and character design. We’re excited to find out more about Justine’s artistic journey, her love of role-playing games, comics, art, her influences and much more. . .  Take the leap!
Photography courtesy of the artist.
Introduce yourself?    Hi, I’m Justine!  I’ve lived in Baltimore Maryland for the past decade and currently live in a small apartment downtown with my partner and my shiba inu Mo, who is a cool and grumpy guy.
How would you describe your work to someone who is just coming across it? I used to call it storybook surrealism, but now I guess it’s more like psychedelic fantasy horror?  Monsters and Wizards.  Lots of tiny black lines, sometimes with lots of bright intense colors.
How did you start from doodling and drawing to what you do now? I feel like it sort of happened organically.  When I was younger, I would do just pencil drawings, and then in my late teens, I got more into using micron pens.  I didn’t really discover color until a few years ago, so I’m a huge color noob.  I think a lot of it also came from working in comic shops for years and going to conventions.  Seeing all of these amazing artists grow, and thinking hey, I could maybe also do that! I first started with t-shirt designs because it just seemed really fun, and I used to have a really hard time selling prints.  People don’t need more prints, but they can always use clothes!  Now i’m getting more into illustrative work and character design, and I’m loving it!
Who and what were some of your early artistic influences? When I was a baby, my dad hung an Aubrey Beardsley print over my crib.  My mom thought it would make me deranged, and maybe it did, but it also made me love ink work and Art Nouveau style haha.  I was obsessed with sword and sorcery stuff and loooved cartoons like He-Man and She-ra, and later, Pirates of Darkwater. I also spent a lot of time in elementary school copying sexy comic book ladies from 90s comics, and I know that is pretty far from what I do now, but it’s honestly how I learned to draw.  I also copied a lot from children’s storybooks when I was little.
What are some things that inspire the drawings you make? What are some of your favorite creatures and beings you like to explore in your art? Video games are a huge inspiration to me, from SNES JRPGs, to games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne.  Also folklore and mythology from around the world, and fantasy artwork from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.  Basically anything fantasy.  My favorite things to draw are wizards and monsters.  I love body horror, anything disgusting and beautiful at the same time.  I take a lot of inspiration from Manga, like Berserk, or anything Junji Ito.  I’ve done a lot of Illustrations for Clark Ashton Smith stories, which I find endlessly inspiring, visually.  Just like, fantasy/ sci fi/ dying earth type stuff.
When did you start collaborating with Kobold Press on creating some awesome fantasy art covers for their publications?  I remember getting the email from them when I was on the way to Necronomicon Providence in 2017.  I thiiiink they found my stuff through the visible women hashtag on twitter?  I was very excited because I owned some of their adventures from back in the day when I played Pathfinder!!  Plus, I have always always wanted to draw things for table top RPGs, so it’s been really cool to actually do it! The Warlock mag that I’ve been doing covers for is awesome because it’s going for an old school DND vibe, but it’s all things that are made for 5th edition.  You can get it on their patreon, and I hiiiighly recommend it to anyone who plays 5e dnd!!
Take us through your artistic process? What’s a typical day in the studio like? Haha extremely chaotic!  I don’t even have a real set workspace, which I really need to change, I just draw where ever. Just chill out, listen to music or a podcast, and draw.  If I’m further along in a drawing and don’t need to focus so much, I’ll watch movies or video gameπ– let’s plays while I’m drawing.  I also love to listen to/ watch things that are in theme with what I’m drawing, to give me some inspiration.  I try to go to coffee shops to change things up sometimes!  Basically I just do a bunch of sketches until something materializes, and then I will just slowly refine the sketch.  I guess it’s not that exciting, but it’s cool to see the first sketch and the finished product because in my head, the sketch always looked like the finished product, but when you go back to look at it, it’s usually just indecipherable scribbles.
What are your essential art tools and materials? 90% of my art is just done using a .05 mechanical pencil and micron pens.  I also draw everything on smooth bristol.  If I have time and want to make my lines super crisp before I scan them in, i will use a light box.   Then for color, I generally use Kyle T Webster brushes in Photoshop with my Wacom tablet.   If I’m on the go, I like to draw things in Procreate on my iPad Pro, but I’m definitely not as good at doing detailed lines digitally.
What do you do when you’re not drawing or working on projects? How do you unplug? Haha, I wish I ever truly unplugged, I think my brain is now melded into the internet!  But mostly I love to play video games.  JRPGs and anything From Software/ Soulsborne (currently obsessed with Sekiro!)  I also love comics and manga.  I’ve been reading The Girl From the Other Side, which is a beautiful dark fairytale Manga by Nagabe.  I also just got one called Witch Hat Atelier, which has the most amazing art! My partner also owns an insane amount of board games, so we play a lot of those.  I’m obsessed with coffee, and work part time at a coffee shop, and my favorite thing in the world to do is eat good food.
What has been the most challenging project you’ve worked on? How did you overcome those obstacles and what did you take away from it? I made a kind of cosmic horror short story in mini comic form last year for SPX, I had very little time,  and it was my first time actually writing a story/ dialogue to go with my pictures.  It was insanely challenging.  I ended up with a finished product that I’m really proud of and that I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on.  I think it really drove home the fact that I just need to stick with things and finish them, even if I don’t feel like they’re perfect.  I’m never going to have the time that I want, and I’m never going to feel like anything is perfect.  I can still make a great thing!
What advice would you give someone who wants to follow in your footsteps and pursue art? Don’t spend 4 years doing nothing, but playing World of Warcraft (Or doooo?).  Uhhh, believe in yourself.  Be nice to other artists.  Draw all the time! Immerse yourself in things that inspire you!  Also, like I said before, things don’t need to be perfect.  Let go of perfect, because sometimes it’s an unattainable ideal.  Just do as good as you can, and don’t beat yourself up so much!  I’m horrible at advice!!!
What’s your best Art School tip that you want to share with folks?   Haha, I moved to Baltimore to go to MICA like, 14 years ago, and then realized I was poor, and would never be able to go to MICA… sooo… I never went to real art school.  I wanted to go so bad, and I still wish I’d had that experience, but I want other people who can’t afford it to know that you don’t NEED it.  Things are a bit harder, but you can find so much free info online if you have the drive, you can teach yourself so many things.  Don’t get discouraged just because art school isn’t gonna happen for you.
What are your favorite style of VANS? I love my lavender/ sea fog Authentic Vans, because they basically go with anything, but I am always eyeing those Sk8-His.
Anything you can share that is coming up?   Ahhhh, I have some realllly cool things that I can’t share yet, but just everyone keep an eye out (It will be very exciting, i swear)!!  As for things I can share, I’m working on some new t-shirt designs, and another comic, and also plan on drawing some more cool wizards in my spare time.   So if you wanna see some cool wizards, uhhh, come to my Instagram–you guys!  Let’s hang out and look at wizards.  And talk about wizards.  And if you don’t like wizards well, don’t come I guess.

WHY WE NEED A REVOLUTION
Tumblr media
Growing up I recall a soft drink advert where they used to make the claim ‘the revolution will not be televised’. Given all the crap we see on TV these days I kind of hope that it is.
Don’t get me wrong, a revolution does not have to be a long series of riots or violence. It could be something completely different, but something that leads to a shift. Who knows maybe something akin to a revolution is actually taking place.
The reason I feel we need something akin to a revolution is that bubbling away under the surface of life is deep unhappiness. In the past decade or two so many things have been surfaced that have shocked us.
Across the globe, politics has quite frankly gone bat shit crazy. Unrest and discomfort in daily life are becoming the norm.
We had a global financial crisis that didn’t correct any of the wrongs that underpinned it.
On a weekly basis, we are learning that the people we celebrate and reward so highly, flout their positions and commit heinous harms. Justice is never likely to be served.
Huge corporations and powerful individuals continue to increase the divide between the haves and have nots.
It’s as if all of the rich and powerful have totally forgotten the concept of ‘with great power comes responsibility’. Failure is richly rewarded for some, irrespective of the cost it brings.
The masses though are placated with toys and avenues to keep them from rising up. I have never witnessed such a monumentally awesome age of great television. Fuck the real world problems out there, I’ve got several hundred hours of Netflix marathons to get through.
Then you feel a bit guilty that you are failing in your civic duty, so you decide to send an ironic GIF to Donald Trump – you know doing your bit.
You could cancel your Amazon Prime account and vote with your feet, but then you’d have to wait a few days for your deliveries.
You’d use a search engine to find a different provider, but you like Google. Google knows you so well that when you start typing shit it predicts what you want and you don’t need to hit another key.
It doesn’t scare you at all, not even the fact that you clearly have an Asian babes obsession or some of the suggestions are a bit worrying.
Sure, someone else could get right on that issue. Politicians for instance. They should be sorting this shit out, except they are far too busy trying to pretend to rule the world and avoid answering difficult questions.
Tumblr media
Be honest. We are quite simply fucked right now. A revolution might be exactly what we need.
You may be in need of a little more convincing. You know as you are sat there skipping words and sentences for a quick fix that tells you whether this is worth your time or not.
5 minutes of your time, taking you from your busy life. The one where you're a battery plugged into a system that is fucking you every day. At least it all fits conveniently into your phone, I guess.
So, here it goes.
People have become weak
Everybody seems to be offended, like, all of the time. You can’t say shit anymore without someone either correcting you or reminding you of the new rules of engagement that nobody agreed to.
If you are one of these people, don’t be offended when I say that you are total Thundercunt. Seriously, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
If you came here hoping to find something to annoy you, then you aren’t paying attention. Unplug your earphones and look at the world around you. It’s fucked. You could focus your efforts on doing something productive even if that’s being a better person, or a little less sensitive.
There’s plenty to be pissed about. People don’t want to focus on the big stuff that matters. They’d rather freak the fuck out about inconsequential nonsense that bruises their fragile egos.
We need a revolution so that we can all ‘man the fuck up’ (sorry feminazis) and start fixing shit like we’re Bob the Builder (or Betty if it makes you feel better).
We need to change the news narrative. Anyone else bored to tears with the daily Brexit coverage? Seriously, this storyline is more drawn out than the whole Ross and Rachael will-they-won’t-they saga.
For all the super-intelligent University educated geniuses that just graduated and have no fucking idea who Ross or Rachael are, go check out a TV show called ‘Friends’. It’s probably on the History channel these days anyway.
Brexit is like an un-flushable turd. A repetitive narrative that papers and broadcasters trot out every day. Seriously, this shite is more convoluted and contrived than the X Factor. It’s the epitome of the lowest form of entertainment and we need to change the record.
Whether you are for a Sunnyside-up Brexit or a Brexit with a side of Unicorn steak, I couldn’t give a damn. A revolution might at the very least give us all something new to get excited about and something we could all rally behind.
We need unity not division
Issues like politics, sport, and even mild banter have become so immersed in the underlying anger we're silently drowning in that no one seems able to have fun anymore.
I cannot remember a time when so many comedians couldn’t make a decent joke about the moronic state of the world and instead make sniping remarks to canned laughter.
Every decent sporting event seems to get overrun with people’s inability to enjoy the spectacle for what it is. Social media and chat forums are littered with petulant hatred and jingoistic tribal bullshit. The Brexit ‘have your say’ plays out like an anthem of bitterness with new vitriolic names invented every day.
We are descending into a bunch of spoiled children who express their pent up feelings through sending passive aggressive memes, angry hashtags and all manner of confusing emojis to make some innocuous point.
We are slowly becoming a mathematician with a broken calculator to solve all our problems. It can’t always be about division (see what I did there).
This diversity bullshit just isn’t working, let’s try something new like a bit of unity. You know: adding shit up to something bigger. I’m fairly sure Einstein would approve, and he was a smart guy.
Some folks need something better to do
If you spend most of your life sitting on your butt. You have all your stuff delivered to your door and your thoughts delivered to your phone or through your TV or laptop – you need a revolution.
We can call it a hobby or a social bonding activity. It’ll be a bit weird because all your new ‘friends’ might not look exactly like you, but you might learn a thing or two about the real world you live in.
Echo chambers are nice and safe because everyone in them thinks the same stuff. However, the real world is full of people ready to blow your mind in more than 140 characters or a 5-minute blog post. It could be exciting.
If you need convincing, watch the Matrix. Neo was simply sad old Thomas Anderson miserable as fuck, then he met Morpheus and learned to fly and loads of other cool shit.
If you already know what you think and it makes you comfortable to surround yourself with other people just like you, perhaps you should just join a cult and be done with it.
The system is broken
Seriously, guys, we have seriously screwed the pooch with the world at the moment.
The system’s broken and we are all just standing around waiting for inevitability to prevail.
The Avengers won't be coming to save us. Anyone who saw last year’s movie knows they are a bit down on their luck at the moment.
Thanos’ minions seem to be running the world and we all need to step up and become superheroes in our own right.
If you want to whip out the Lycra or Spandex – go for it. But do something, even if it’s just being better or not throwing hate out to the world because someone is different from you.
I don’t care if the revolution happens or even if it is streamed on Netflix or some other site. Change needs to happen and often that is as simple as everyone trying to be less of a douchebag than they might have normally been.
The only thing I can offer as a ‘reward’ or promise is that we might actually get some decent music back on the scene.
Revolutions tend to come out best in song. There has been no truly great era of music for decades now, and if ever there was a more compelling reason for a revolution this would be it.
Music is the anthem of the soul. It’s time for it to wake up and belt out something beautiful.

Meme Culture in Relation to Social Theories
Memes are everywhere — whether as a post about school one can easily relate to, or a vine reference used as a tool to emphasize a reaction — memes are visible in the everyday internet experience of an individual. It is perceived as something humorous wherein even the classic memes never truly get old. But what really are memes and do they really have a purpose in society and everyday life?
Memes are defined as an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture. When Richard Dawkins coined the term meme for his book The Selfish Gene (1976), his purpose was an attempt to thoroughly explain the way cultural information spreads from an individual to another and how it is utilized for propagation. Because of this, Mike Godwin in 1993 had these as an inspiration and proposed the idea of “Internet Memes” wherein the piece of media that spreads is now a mimicry or satirical. The new idea of memes, in the eyes of Dawkins, was human creativity’s deliberate alteration and had been mutated and evolved in a new direction. Nonetheless, the internet memes proposed by Godwin is the well known meme blueprint in the media industry.
An internet meme may take the form of an image (gif, jpg, png), hyperlink, video, website, or even a hashtag. Sometimes the intentional misspelling of a word could also be considered as a meme. Whatever it is, the purpose of memes is to be relatable in the various existing internet culture and subculture. See, though these weird pictures scattered on the internet has a purpose; as explained by Emile Durkheim in his theory Structural Functionalism, everything is functional. Society, for Durkheim, is systematically structured like a biological organism; the loss of internet memes will affect the structure of the society as it is interdependent with each other. Internet memes serves as an important part of the population as it had shaped the lives of individuals in various contexts—it was even used for marketing a product, progressing a political agenda, or propagating a change in the world.
Through memes, members of the online community are able to recognize each other almost instantly. A broad knowledge of memes often symbolizes exposure and immersion in online culture. In fact, strangers may find themselves in solidarity with other online users who are familiar with the same meme experience. Social media sites such as Reddit, Twitter, and Tumblr serve as avenues for online users to share their own meme archives. There is some sort of distinction and regard towards people who have a strong grasp of meme culture in a sense that they are deemed to be cooler, or more fun. This exemplifies the existing theory of symbolic interactionism where people make use of social symbols, in this case memes, to evaluate particular persons or situations especially in the cyberspace where users only ever have a grasp of other users’ identity through the persona they present online.
As absurd as memes are, they are instruments that aid gravely in self-expression when words fail to. Whether it be a photo of a single cartoon character, a college boy standing at a walkway with his hands clasped, or a six-minute video of a young boy with a lizard perched on his head, people find entertainment through which that links them to other users be it in the same city or another continent. Perhaps what makes memes a highlight and lasting aspect of the online experience is that it not only elicits a giggle or two from each instigator, it also presents a community with contributors who share the same sentiments in the name of humor.

Interview with Kym Frank, President at Geopath
MarTalk Connect is our Interview Series with marketing technology companies that are making a difference. Join us as we talk to them about their product journeys, insight on the categories they serve and some bonus protips!
Kym Frank, President at Geopath talks about powering a smarter OOH marketplace and making the most of marketing dollars spent.  To stay ahead of the curve, she says,  her tips are: aim for better analytics and deeper consumer insights, and have a better understanding of OOH ad effectiveness. She sees streaming of live content and pairing OOH with digital and mobile advertising as the two big current trends. Kym is an expert in media and human insights with 20 years of experience in the industry. She is a polished presenter, a trusted company representative and nimble researcher.
What does Geopath mean by a 'smarter OOH marketplace'?
We are a not-for-profit, tripartite industry organization that has provided auditing and measurement to the OOH industry for more than 80 years, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t evolved. When we rebranded last year, the idea of “powering a smarter OOH marketplace,” was essential to us. It not only reflects the exciting transformations happening across the OOH advertising industry, but it also speaks to a strategic shift in our focus.
A shift from strictly measuring OOH impressions to one based on advanced audience location science - leveraging data in unique ways that were impossible only a few years ago.
This new focus will allow us to provide better analytics, deeper consumer insights and a better understanding of OOH ad effectiveness.
However, to truly power a smarter OOH Marketplace and support this strategic repositioning, we needed to make our data “smarter.” As such, Geopath’s membership decided to make an investment in our industry’s currency, enriching the system with anonymous data from mobile devices, connected cars, and GPS platforms.
This investment was to ensure that our organization can provide the state-of-the-art, independent, responsible metrics that today’s advertisers are demanding from publishers across all channels.
What does the digital transformation story of OOH look like and how can marketers bring it into their digital strategies? What should a marketer consider when planning an OOH strategy that can integrate with the rest of their digital marketing strategy?   The entire value chain within OOH advertising, even with printed inventory, has gone through a digital transformation. Even on printed inventory, the process of identifying which locations to purchase, buying the inventory, ordering the creative and having it mounted, once a very manual process, has become automated today.
The decision of which inventory to advertise on is often fueled by big data and optimized utilizing advanced software systems.
**The entire process of getting the advertisement in front of a consumer - even if it is on vinyl - can be digitized.**
Beyond this, there are many ways marketers can use OOH to amplify their digital strategies. In fact, we have found that **there is a significant amount of synergy when OOH is paired with digital and mobile advertising.**
Marketers can geofence any type of inventory, printed or digital, to amplify their OOH messaging with mobile retargeting.
And messaging on printed boards can also drive consumers to a digital call-to-action.
In addition, the dynamic nature of digital out of home (DOOH) enables advertisers to change creative as a result of triggers such as weather, search queries, or even the presence of mobile devices. Sensors can be embedded in displays that recognize automobile models and respond with custom messaging.
Another big trend we are seeing is the streaming of live content, like sports scores and social media feeds. This is highly impactful and helps brands build a dialogue with their audience in real-time -- and in real-life.
Tell us about the analytics and metrics involved in measuring the success of Digital OOH.
Our new measurement solution, which launches in early 2018, will provide Geopath members with a 360-degree view of aggregated anonymous audience movement. OOH advertisers will now have the ability to more precisely understand who they are reaching every hour of the day, every day of the week. This will give advertisers and their agency partners the ability to better optimize their planning and assess campaign performance. Ultimately, it will empower them to deliver the most impactful messages, at the right time, in the best location to their specific target audience.
Members will also have access to increased audience profiling capabilities similar to those available in digital channels.
Through our new data solution, members have access to more than 6,500 population variables that include advanced demographics, consumer spending and audience segmentation.
This level of granularity will allow outdoor advertising to be one of the most well-measured and reactive channels for marketers.
The ability to tap into anonymous information about the movement of people throughout their day will empower advertisers, and allow them to get the most out of their marketing dollars.
Ultimately, we see it helping to create greater synergy across all media channels, but especially with mobile and digital components of campaigns.
What is geo-data and Geopath’s location analytics? How does it add value to the traditional OOH?
Geo-data is any information that has a location component;
this could be a business name and address, a mobile device’s location at a particular moment, an interstate roadway and the speed of traffic at noon on Friday, or the demographics of a particular neighborhood. It is essentially anything that can be mapped has some associated geo-data.
All geo-data is relevant to traditional OOH, because each location is unique and has a particular group of people that pass by it at various times throughout the day, at different speeds, via different modes of travel or even during different seasons of the year.
Understanding these audience patterns and behaviors for any OOH media will allow buyers and sellers to utilize OOH in more strategic ways.
What are the tools Geopath provides to measure and analyze audience location and show how consumers engage with out of home advertising? How do these tools work in practice?
Geopath’s Insights Suite can drill down to the local neighborhood level to measure audience delivery. Users of Geopath data will be able to correlate any number of metrics that they, and their clients, are also gathering, such as sales by ZIP code, tune in to addressable TV, or even social engagement and brand awareness. Geopath’s data products will allow out-of-home media consumption to finally be tied to people’s behavior on a national and hyper-local level.
**How can the outdoor ad industry help marketers create more creative, interactive and targeted communication to their digital consumers ?**
**Out of home is one of the oldest marketing channels and has always been a tremendous canvas for brands to express their creativity.** Whether it is Twitter placing hashtags next to recognizable news images on static billboards or Coca-Cola’s new 3-D billboard in Time Square, **OOH has the ability create truly immersive and emotionally engaging experiences.**
This will not change. The industry will always try to push the boundaries of creativity and innovate as new technology become available. As it does, Geopath is ready to transform with it. We are confident that the metrics provided through our measurement system will be able to support the industry as it continues to evolve.
Through the combination of anonymous data harnessed from mobile devices, survey and purchase data we will be providing, the industry will soon be able to understand so much more about who they are reaching.
By understanding more about the type of people likely to intersect with an advertisement, advertisers can better cater their message and overall experience to the consumers they are trying to reach.
It becomes a two-way value exchange for both the advertiser and their consumers.
What are the kind of service providers in the business and deployment models in the new digital context? What role does Geopath play to bring all the industry stakeholders together?
Our organization made the decision a few years ago to create a highly capable resource that would function as a “currency” in the one-to-many DOOH ecosystem, just as it has for roadside and transit media for decades. For those members that are working in the digital space and are experimenting with programmatic and transactional environments, Geopath can serve the role of the 3rd party provider of audience metrics, providing a central verified audience measurement system for planning, buying, and selling.
What are the main issues that Geopath is trying to highlight or address in terms of the role and understanding of location data in outdoor advertising?
One of the biggest topics that Geopath is actively promoting in the market is using data responsibly.
We see a lot of cool resources leveraging location data coming to market that are all show and no substance. If someone comes to you as a media planner, buyer, or seller and says “look at all this great location data that will fulfill your wildest dreams, “you’d better ask yourself a few questions before you embrace it. Where did the location data come from and how were they collected? Are they able to answer the questions that I need answered? If the data are representative of just a small subset of the people I’m looking for, can the data confidently tell me anything about the full group? Are the data inherently skewed because they only comes from some platforms or types of devices? Are the data captured because of specific events that the device was engaged in, such as actively checking in or being served an ad? If so, will those methods overstate a particular character of the population? There are so many advancements in technology and newly available sources of location data that it is a full time effort to stay ahead of the curve. However,
we strongly believe that to accurately understand the full impact of a media campaign the data being used to measure the audience must accurately represent the full population.
**While many resources are out there which leverage device level measurement, there is always the missing piece of not knowing what you don’t know.** We try to educate people about this at every opportunity, that at the core of any planning, buying, or selling analysis, regardless of media format, there needs to be a foundation of population level audience measurement.

Dev Interview
Tumblr media
“How did you first hear about #IndieDevHour?”
Tumblr media
“We worked on our Kickstarter with PR Hound who first introduced us to #IndieDevHour.”
“What has been your overall experience with #IndieDevHour?”
Tumblr media
“It’s the most organized indie dev hashtag in the entire Twitterverse so far because of the countdown and the website where all tweets are listed.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“If you could change #IndieDevHour in anyway, what would you do?”
Tumblr media
“It’ll be nice to have one topic to cover each week, so we can all have on main area of discussion.”
“What has it been like working with a publisher?”
Tumblr media
“We don’t have a publisher yet, so we can’t answer this question. “
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What advice would you give to devs looking for a publisher?“
Tumblr media
“Some of the advice we received from others include talking to the publisher to make sure that they have the same vision as you do. Also, read that contract through and through, you want to know what you’re getting yourself into.”
“What in your opinion has been the hardest part of being an Indie Dev?“
Tumblr media
“Getting coverage for the game and building our community. “
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What tool would you recommend to other devs?”
Tumblr media
“Legrand Legacy is a sprawling RPG, so there are a lot of moving parts that are always getting edited. Plus, some of our team members work remotely, which add to the challenge, especially since internet connection is often unreliable in this part of the world (Indonesia). We find that several online tools are useful to keep track of chats, tasks, and progress. We use Slack, Wrike, and Trello to keep everything in check and everyone sane. “
“When is a good time to start showing your demo?”
Tumblr media
“As early as possible! As soon as you have something decent to show, put it up on your social media. The community takes a while to build so it’s good to start early. We think we started a little late for Legrand Legacy, but we are working hard to spread the word before our September 2017 release. “
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What about crowdfunding?”
Tumblr media
“Crowdfunding is one of those controversial issues as some crowdfunded projects sometimes get a bad rap. It’s also a LOT of work before, during, and after the campaign. Having said that, we think it’s an amazing platform to get additional funding for Legrand Legacy so we can improve on the content of the game, but more than that, we now have a community of people who truly cares about the game and want to see it flourish!”
“What about trade shows? Are they useful?”
Tumblr media
“We participated in GDC Play, Pax East, and SXSW Gaming a few months ago. The benefit is not easy to measure in terms of sales or dollar amount, but we had the chance to interact first hand and face-to-face with fellow gamers and industry players or future business partners – this alone is worth the trip. Our next stop is Singapore and Kyoto, where we’ve been invited by Indie Prize and Kickstarter. So talk to everyone out there, you’ll never know where an opportunity might pop up.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Describe your game in 3 words”
Tumblr media
“Classic Spiritual Successor” “What was the inspiration behind your game?”
Tumblr media
“All time JRPG favorites, such as Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden, and early Final Fantasy. The story is also heavily inspired by real life issues, such as war, slavery, and LGBT. We think established gamers will appreciate the nostalgic aspect of Legrand Legacy, but new players will probably enjoy the story and beautiful art or music.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Finally have you anything additional you would like to say or add?”
Tumblr media
“The indie dev community is filled with amazing individuals who are always ready to lend a helping hand, so don’t be afraid to ask and participate in some of the platforms out there (our personal favourite is @ProjectMQ). Be nice to everyone you meet on your way up to the top :)”

Tumblr media
(They're not perfect but they're better than the neon covers on my paperbacks)
