Doo Wop
Once in a while I have a same passing thought. During the time of Alastor and Vox being friends, I think Vox managed to convince Alastor to visit a Hells 1950's diner. Which is becoming popular as more people of that era continue to fall and some built and visit to get a sense of normalcy they are familiar with.
I think it be incredibly endearing chain of events. Because its not only Vox that yakking up how great life was during Vox time. Because Alastor has Nifty doing the same. Expressing her own interest in music to him.
Eventually Alastor gave in and visit a diner with the two of them just to make them happy. They were so excited to share part of their living lives with him.
Alastor didn't hate it like he thought he would. I know Alastor is unmoving about trying new things. But I think before his friendship sour with Vox, Alastor was at least willing to be open slightly to experiment for curiosity sake.
He didn't hate it.
He much prefer what he familiar with. Jazz from his ere is just classy, refine, has more style. I have a feeling Alastor would like doo wop music or the quartet Chordettes. I think he be charmed by their jingly tunes. I can just imagine him sitting and enjoying listening to them as he swings a finger in the air like a small rod a conductor would use.
But he reluctant to admit, Vox and Nifty mustic has appeal of fun to it.
I honestly headcanon that they died mid 50's but I'm hoping they both died in the late 50s. Because that's where all the music was really banging that they would like. I picture Vox being a Bill Haley and an Elvis fan. Nifty would definitely be en Elvis fan. He was the bad boy of that time.
I can see Nifty and Vox dressing up to go out to the theme diner/bar. Nifty in her poodle skirt. Vox dress up more like a greaser. Jeans and leather Jacket. Which Nifty loves. Nifty basically developing a small crush for Vox. They try to get Alastor to dress up, I'm unsure if they were able to convince him that far.
Vox totally try to get Alastor to share a milkshake with him. The whole double straw thing. Alastor did sample a sip but ultimately, he doesn't like sweet things. To Vox dismay, he ended up sharing with Nifty in the end who was happy and probably giving flirty look that made Vox uncomfortable.
What's better then the music...is the dancing. Alastor always loved to move but 1950's dancing was up a level. Men were tossing woman like they were acrobats that isn't part of chirography group dance. Can you imagine what type of moves Vox displayed then later Alastor with Nifty alone? The girl who weighs as much as a house cat? Then you get Vox and Alastor together...oh what fun they would have!
Not to mention, its a bit scandalous to what Alastor use to. A lot more with all those hip swivels and leg shaking.
(For those who don't know Elvis was consider a bad boy, and very controversial as his dance moves was considered vulgar at the time. But he was so popular...which meant people want to copy him)
Then you have the stupid dances that Vox and Nifty have to teach Alastor. Like the Mash potato and the twist. Which Alator think is beyond stupid...but it fun.
Its a stupid thought I keep having repeated in my mind. But I think it be so charming if the three of them had a few outings to a 50's theme. Vox and Nifty relationship would be amusing. Both getting along with shared interest but not enough to click into a deeper level. Both are just excitable gremlins, who being overly excited to show their mutual their passions of their former life.

I've decided I don't want live action adaptions of things anymore. I want animated adaptions always and forever with professional voice actors* and teams who are being treated with the decency they deserve (fiscally and emotionally).
Personally I'd prefer 2D animation or with a canny combination of it and 3D. I don't think a live action has to be the ultimate end goal of a piece of media and also if I see one more "!!! This [animated thing] is FINALLY getting a live action adaption!" As if that somehow validates it's value. It was valuable before and honestly I don't think live action is good at adapting animated things because you can do a lot of stuff in animation that just isn't possible in real life (see: animals, architecture, magic, some aspects of human anatomy etc) so it gets added in later to the point where it's just a different animated adaption this time with strange stylistic limitations.
Like. Idk man. I'm gonna use critical role as an example because I've been thinking about it. Can you imagine how crunchy that would have looked if they'd done live action? It has the possibility to have been great but like. With the amount of stuff that would have had to have been done in special effects or post (don't get me wrong I have massive respect for both those skills) there's so many points where it could have fallen flat. Fantasy is a genre that sort of lends itself to animation by the variety of weirdness going on. The Legends of Vox Machina works because they knew the medium they should reach for. They're voice actors, they know the value of animation and they reached for it because a live action adaption isn't the be all end all of media success.
Edgerunners is another one that would have been worse off if CDPR had reached for live action vs anime. With the current state of Hollywood it all would have been green screened in. It would have been CGI props and prosthetics and scenery. And while, again, that's not a BAD thing (until you look at what that looks like from an employee experience which is generally considered to not be great) if you're going to have to animate 90% of shit ANYWAY you should probably just fucking start there yknow?
I don't have an issue with live action. I love live action movies. I just don't think it should be treated as the Pinnacle of media. Live action shouldn't be the goal for every story. Like. I liked netflixs witcher (more or less). But I think Nightmare of the Wolf was gorgeous and I would have loved a Witcher series like that. (I also would have liked execs who cared about the source material and for Tim Aslam to have stayed on beyond season 1)
If we lived in a world where movies took years and costume designers and set dressers and prop builders and post teams were given the time and resources they need to make something glorious, I might be a little more sympathetic towards people reaching for live action first. But we don't and I'm not. Percy Jackson would work better animated. Witcher would work better animated. Avatar: The Last Airbender already worked better as animation.
Animation is a valuable and worthwhile medium in its own right. Not
Final note: this isn't about "they changed this characters hair/skin/eye colour in the live action!" I literally don't care about that. If I must have a live action adaption I would MUCH rather an actor who is good at their job vs someone who fits the description. This is about reducing animation to "being for kids" and live action "being mature and grown up" like. Come on now.
*(not big name screen actors who will draw a crowd. Its a different skill set and it's important to remember that but that's a soap box for another time)
#ive not had enough sleep so this is worded like garbage#but i have strong feelings and my partner has heard this rant so many times so yall get it instead#animation and live action are noth valuable meduims that excel in different areas of storytelling#long post#i guess#its long on mobile#which is where im writing it

Hello! Can I please request Percy(LOVM), Eren(AOT pre season 4), Lindhardt(Fire emblem), Hop(Pokemon), and Armin(AOT pre season 4) being spoiled by. Very rich S/O? Thank you ^-^
Being Spoiled By Rich S/O
FANDOM: Attack on Titan // Critical Role, LoVM // Pokemon: Swsh // Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Character(s): Percival De Rolo, Eren Jaeger, Armin Arlet, Linhardt Lastname, Hop
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): You got it!!
Attack on Titan
Armin
Thinks it's a prank at first. You just got him some more books that are definitely not allowed?
He thinks he's going to flip it open and be met with a face full of glitter. Instead it's just all kinds of unique facts about this world he lives in and he's enamored.
Would constantly tell you that you don't need to buy him anything and he gets flustered when you do. You get a thousand thank you's from him when you buy something he's been eyeing.
Armin does try to save up his own money so he can buy you something nice too. It's difficult because you already have so much money, you can buy yourself anything, but he still tries to get you something really nice.
Eren
Really doesn't know how to react when you begin spoiling him. He's a bit flustered when you choose him but then he gets annoyed.
If you have so much money then why aren't you funding the Scouts or offering money to those that lost their homes to Titans? Don't waste your money on him.
Seriously does not appreciate you spending money on him. Others need it way more than he does. Might accuse you of looking for a way to show off.
Like he's not bothered about you being rich, but just thinks that there are other people besides him that needs your money way more than he does. You buying him stuff is just selfish.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Linhardt
I mean you won't hear any complaints out of his mouth. He might tease you a bit for spending so much money.
But considering it's helping him with his Crest research as well as making him a library, he's happy.
Definitely enjoys being spoiled but probably feels a tad bad because now he feels like he owes something to you. Like he has to make you happy now with some kind of gift.
If you tell him not to worry about it then he'll shrug like he doesn't care, but it's still going to be on his mind now and then.
Legends of Vox Machina
Percy
Can't help but raise an eyebrow the first time you bought him a bunch of gunpowder or metal bits for his guns/bullets.
Thought you were going to ask him for something in return but instead you just gave him a smile and said to make you a list if he needs anything else.
Percy grew up with wealth and then that was taken away. To suddenly have someone spoiling and practically giving him money (or using that money to buy things he wants) feels a tad like whiplash. It'll take him a bit to get used to it.
Would absolutely make you a list of things he needs then uses what you buy to tinker and make a gift for you as thanks. You can complain all you like, but technically you bought this so if anything you gifted yourself. He won't accept any returns though.
Pokemon: Sword/Shield
Hop
Gets flustered the first time you bought him something that he mentioned wanting. He appreciates the gift, but wasn't expecting you to go out and get it.
Then it keeps happening and he really doesn't know what to say or think. I mean, thank you obviously but holy crap isn't this expensive??
Will be super flustered at the fact that you just like spoiling him. Cost is nothing to you as long as he's happy. It's super sweet and saying no is something he has difficulties with.
Seriously though, S/O, he doesn't want you to spend all your money on him. A few gifts now and then is nice but there is a point when it becomes a bit much.

Vincent nods along with the answer, not quite… understanding, but getting enough of the gist to run with it. Everything had to get its start somewhere— and different as it all is, and it is, there’s something nice in the knowledge that even now he has not abandoned that first spark love for the television. Expanded it and really made it his own, but never moved on to something new.
“Now that’s a good invention— I wouldn’t be where I am without the cinemas, but even I can admit that some nights you really just want to do something quiet at home without having to read.” Which to him meant, most of the time, the radio if he was honest, or one of the TV shows he didn’t work on, because he wants to be adored, but he has less interest dissecting his own performance. “Vox has been busy then, all the new and old things at the click of a button!”
There’s something satisfying in knowing that he helped build television into the medium it is now, as it gets larger still, so to know that not only does Vox keep going, but adds more and more new mediums feels like comfort. That would help explain it all at least, stubborn, the lot of them. One clinging to the classic, the other embracing everything new. Neither seemed like winning tactics; the internet sounds fascinating, but Vox’s apartment is also missing all the charm of physical things. “Seems a downright shame, not the dislike of course, you can’t actually charm everyone despite by best efforts some days, but there’s a lot of good things from after 1933, at least he encountered sliced bread.” Which was convenient if nothing else.
Vincent bites his bottom lip, a bad habit, but one nonetheless. “I might be throwing stones from a glass house,” because it’s not like he knows what ended with him down here, maybe he did kill a man, “but I don’t think that being your creator or not gives him the right to murder you. You seem more than a little sentient, even if sin…. Is not fake if there’s Hell.” Huh… That implied a God… he’ll consider that later. Much later.
Vincent laughs, smiling. “You’re probably right. Seems a poor choice to keep them so near at hand.” It won’t, he thinks, be enough to stop him in all honesty, he’d just make sure to do it, potentially tomorrow, after Vox leaves for work. Just quick, just enough to reassure him that his future wasn’t trappings souls like a terrible spiders web. “And of it’s all on the internet I doubt I’d even know what to look for. I’d be a terrible spy.” But that’s alright, what no one else knows won’t hurt them.
“A… spider? What do you mean cover?" The way Astor speaks about it makes it seem like a magazine, which it isn't. Mostly it's just the word, like womanizer, if which he isn't either. As for the other half of it, he had seen some spider demons on the streets, but none would... consider magazine worthy. He glosses over the Lorax reference, another one from after his time, he assumes. "It seems I have more hobbies than Vox, which is impressive considering I probably spend more time at the network studios than anyone else."
Vincent grins, both pleased for the opportunity to teach it to Astor, and to dance at all. "You needn't worry about that," There's about a foot between them if Vincent had to guess, and he's danced with girls that much shorter than him. Sure, it would mean trying to teach backwards or with a much taller follower, but that's not exactly anything impossible. And okay, maybe he's excited about the idea of being able to dance with a man without fear, sue him. "There's enough room in the living room that we should be able to do it there, music and all. Might as well get some use from the fact that Vox's house is covered in all those little speakers." Or he'd just buy a gramophone, and consider it a gift to his future's personal space.
"I suppose in a city like this, there's bound to be a hierarchy. I guess I'm just surprised the sinners aren't the bottom. Everyone's always talking about how Hell's gonna punish the sinners, and it seems... short of brimstone."
Vincent has never been entirely sure how his heart reacts to stress, but he'd sure it's beating just a little bit faster, as he's sure it's been doing since he would up here! "Ah well, I think my heart's usually slower than it is now. Terrible scientific method you know, not a true control." He says, continuing to run his fingers through Astor's hair, not letting it throw him enough to stop.
#Aww Astor he’s trying#sadly Vincent is still fundamentally what Vox becomes#so he will in fact check Vox’s office at some point#And the answer is in fact#contracts not like Val’s so he’ll be mollified#Vincent: oh damn gods real??#he will never come back to that thought#Vox has been ignoring it for going in 70 years#local atheist still an atheist#fun fact! While Vox would know Playboy magazine#it hasn't actually debuted in 1946!#*cathode rays and rock and roll (vincent price)#*filming schedule (rp)#shadowofthehost

So. You want to watch Enterprise but you've heard it's largely terrible. Here's some good news: I actually really like Enterprise and I have strong opinions on the episodes and I'm giving them to you for free
Green- generally considered to be good
Orange- I personally like it but it's not stellar/I think it's underrated
Red- It's terrible but it makes me laugh
Season 1
(edit) Broken Bow- 1x01: Its the pilot you should probably watch it. Does a very good job establishing the characters and the general (horny) vibe
Strange New World- 1x03: the first of many "uh oh something is making a member/members of the crew act oddly" but I really like this for the first half of the episode because it's something so unique to Enterprise and you can really feel the enthusiasm for exploring this place where humans haven't gone before and you can see how things are different because there isn't things like a fully reliable transporter yet
The Andorian Incident- 1x06: trip and archer visit a Vulcan monastery and hijinks ensues but more importantly it's the first appearance of Shran!!! Famously brought the Andorians back into star trek and it also shows the Vulcans for the shady bitches they can sometimes (usually) be
Breaking the Ice- 1x07: the gang finds a big ole comet. this isn't a great episode but there are a lot of cute little character moments I really love including Travis and Malcolm making a snow Vulcan
Shadows of P'Jem- 1x14: Archer and T'Pol get kidnapped and proceed to refuse to have any romantic chemistry whatsoever. But who cares because it's a Shran episode!!
Shuttlepod One- 1x15: Trip and Malcolm get stranded in shuttlepod One with slowly dwindling resources. Not beloved by critics but the fans sure go wild.
Rogue Planet- 1x17: Archer romances a shapeshifting space slug
Acquisition- 1x18: this is just a fun episode. basically the Ferengi take over the enterprise and it's up to Trip to save the day in his underwear. A lot of people rag on it for causing continuity errors to which i say fuck you man star trek is full of continuity errors and this one isn't that bad.
Detained- 1x20: Archer and Travis get held in a detention center with several Suliban and the gang learns that racism is bad. Also, a quantum leap reunion
Vox Sola- 1x21: space jizz teaches trip and a random crewmen the highs and lows of water polo. Also, an underrated T'poshi episode
Two Days and Two Nights- Enterprise's first and only Risa episode and my god is it horny. Hoshi gets laid though good for her
Season 2
Carbon Creek- 2x02: T'Pol tells a story about her grandmother living on earth in the 1940s and Jolene Blalock gets to wear some real fucking clothes. Good fun, solid emotional beats, and the chronologically first Vulcan and human romance.
Minefield- 2x03: the ship goes into an alien minefield. Not the most creative name but a very tense episode AND the first real appearance of the Romulans
Deadstop- 2x04: an unofficial part two to minefield where a heavily damaged Enterprise comes across a high tech station that will repair it for a relatively low price... or is it? A delightful little romp and if you're into trip/malcolm this ones for you
A Night in Sickbay- 2x05: Archer is a fucking asshole in this episode but also his entire dream sequence and the end scene kills me dead
Marauders- 2x06: it's a magnificent seven reference in space with some great outfits. It's not life changing but it's harmless fun.
Dawn- 2x13: It's like Darmok but if Picard and that alien dude started beating the absolute shit out of each other and Picard was steadily stripping throughout the episode and I love it
Cease Fire- 2x15: Shran is back and bluer than ever baby! Another good look at the Vulcan/Andorian conflict and Jeffrey Combs gives it his all
Horizon- 2x20: the only episode of Enterprise to be Travis Mayweather centric and it's not mind blowingly good but we have to support our boy
Regeneration- 2x23: Enterprise's Borg episode that ties up a couple of plot holes from First Contact and has a fantastic score by Brian Tyler. Largely considered to have made the Borg scary again
First Flight- 2x24: Tells the story of the first flight of the warp two engine and the origin story of archer and trips friendship. Good old wholesome fun
Season 3
Impulse- 3x05: Enterprise does its own take on a zombie movie but with Vulcans. Need I say more.
Twilight- 3x08: Archer gets a space disease that makes it so he's incapable of making new memories and results in 50 first dates in hell. Gives a look at what will happen if the Enterprise fails to stop the Xindi weapon and T'Pol gets to wear the uniform
North Star- 3x09: Cowboy episode! Cowboy episode! Cowboy episode!
Similitude- 3x10: Trip gets severely injured and Phlox and Archer decide to grow a rapidly aging clone to save his life. This is a heavy one folks but I think the casting for the various young Trips is a particular stand out.
Carpenter Street- 3x11: Archer and T'Pol have time travel shenanigans including stealing a car and robbing an ATM. Lots of horror movie references for some reason.
Proving Ground- 3x13: Shran shows up out of nowhere in the expanse but does he have ulterior motives??? Yes. It's a Shran episode those are always good
Stratagem- 3x14: Archer, like many captains before him, finally gets his theater kid episode where he gets the act his little heart out in a stupid elaborate plan to trick Degra into telling him where the Xindi are building the weapon
Damage- 3x19: the ship is stranded without a warp drive and the only way to acquire one is to rob another ship. Holy shit does this episode get dark but I does present a good moral dilemma
E^2- 3x21: the Enterprise comes across an Enterprise that was sent into the past and that is staffed entirely by their decedents. It's a bit of filler episode but generally beloved by fans
The Council/Countdown/Zero Hour- 2x22-2x24: a pretty kick ass three part season finale that does uphold the Star Trek idea of trying to solve problems through diplomacy with some pretty good space fights. Very suspenseful and these were the episodes that made me understand why people thought Enterprise could actually be good
Season 4
(edit) Home- 4x03: the episode where everyone looks at the last year and realized that they might be traumatized. A good and necessary cool down ep after the xindi arc and sets the show up to be a bit more hopeful, a lot of good moments between characters
Borderland/Cold Station 12/The Augments- 4x04-4x06: Brent Spiner is back baby and they are going to milk him for all he's worth. I don't personally think these episodes are great but they're action packed and adds a ton to the lore
The Forge/Awakening/Kir'Shara- 4x07-4x09: this post is entirely my opinions so I'm going to say this is the best of all of the trilogies and probably the best Enterprise ever got. This trilogy has everything: shran, surak, t'pau, a shit ton of lore that explains how enterprise vulcans become tos/tng vulcans.
Observer Effect- 4x11: Hoshi and Trip are infected by a mysterious virus while non corporeal aliens posses various members of the crew to watch them. Great Hoshi moments in this one and a great tie in to the original series. My personal favorite episode
Babel One/United/The Aenar- 4x12-4x14: I don't want to spoil anything because there are a couple of great twists in this but it's another Shran episode baby!! It does lead to the first big step to the founding of the federation.
Affliction/Divergence- 4x15-4x16: Phlox gets kidnapped by Klingons and the gang goes on a man hunt to find him. Finally fleshed out Reeds backstory in an interesting way. Divergence has the best action scene in all of Enterprise with the crossing the tether scene imo. Continues the tradition of tying up loose ends from tos that no one really needed an answer to but it does it in a really interesting way.
In a Mirror, Darkly part 1 and 2- 4x18-4x19: season four is the season where they were desperately trying to tie into other, better star treks and it works for them. These are currently the only episodes to take place entirely in the mirror universe with mirror universe characters and if you hate faith of the heart than I have some good news for you. You can tell all the actors are having a great time chewing the scenery and it's some good old fashioned fun
Demons/Terra Prime- 4x20-4x21: nothing but respect for MY Enterprise series finale. In all seriousness this actually does a pretty good job of rapping up the show and giving every character a moment to shine. Fantastic performance by everyone but especially Jolene Blalock and Connor Trinneer.
