There is nothing that exhausts me more and makes me feel depressed like seeing other disabled people say I don't deserve to enjoy things. Because you were asked to make ONE very simple and easy accommodation? Tag for flashing lights? That's not worth your time? And to use the fact that you don't get adequate accommodations as the reason why you deny someone else? To be an ASSHOLE about it! To block someone because they asked you to protect someone who shares community with you? I now have to worry about cat videos and interact even less because...why? Why??? Because you're mean and hateful and think you don't owe your community some basic courtesy?
I literally saw this post on the book of face after having a seizure that woke me out of a nap. I'm still in post-ictal, and my brain is still unbalanced, so another trigger like one of my big two (flashing lights!!) Would send me into another one. I've been in status epilepticus before multiple times, and each time puts me at higher risk of it again and that means risk of brain damage and WORSE.
But the general consensus even among leftists and other disabled folks is that epileptics just shouldn't be on the internet or play games or watch shows and movies, basically don't own a screen of any kind and don't you dare question whether flashing lights and colors and glitch visual effects can be toned down or are even really necessary because artistic vision!!! You have no right to demand someone change their artistic vision! You have no right to ask your friends to use different gifs so that you can participate in the group chat! How dare you! How SELFISH. Sorry I don't want to go to the ER and frighten my kids because I wanted to not be isolated today.
#actually epileptic#and then i got suspended for reporting the comment#because it's against the rules because the fb algorithm overpolices black groups#so now i can't interact with one of my favorite groups
