it's a very human instinct, that desire to yell about how vindicated you are, but nothing is ever as important as knowing when not to.
crow about it in private if you must, but remember that people will feel you're looking down on them, whether you're crowing vindication over a positive book rec, or over being "right" about the bad vibes you got from something.
ultimately that sense of vindication is yours. don't make it everyone else's problem.
#ive loved books by authors before they broke into the public eye and wanted to yell my vindication#i've also bounced off media and then felt vindicated when it gets picked apart#or someone involved is revealed to be shitty#but#and this is the important bit#I do my best to keep it to myself#i might grumble to a friend or two#but there is NO NEED to be a public dipshit about your sense of vindication#you can discourage people who got to something late and thereby diminish what could have been a positive community#or you can irritate people who'd otherwise be happy to talk shit and kvetch#and. sometimes. you will hurt people.#because in crowing about your vindication - your sense of being right - you are implicitly saying they were hurt because they were stupid#and that is plain old shitty#don't do that#me myself and i#thinky thoughts#vagueblogging
