"Chan, make yourself useful," Changbin commands him.

Chan, not wanting to make his alpha mad, gets down below Changbin. He can hear Hyunjin and Changbin's panting from the rough fucking going on above him. He licks a long line up Changbin's ass.

"FUCK!" Changbin yells, as the stimulation from being eaten out and fucking his roommate gets to him. Now both Hyunjin and Changbin are screaming in pleasure, while Chan is making slurping sounds from drinking all of Changbin's juices.

"Changbin, I'm right there, don't stop!" Hyunjin exclaims.

Changbin makes deeper and deeper thrusts, and with a final push, Hyunjin's head breaks through the glass of the window. Hyunjin comes right then and there, his moans loud enough for all of South Korea to hear.

Chan keeps up his pace and Changbin's not too far behind Hyunjin before he comes as well.

"DAMNIT CHAN!!!" Changbin yells as he comes right all over Hyunjin's back. Changbin and Hyunjin take a few minutes to calm themselves after that overwhelming experience, while Chan cleans up Hyunjin.

Hyunjin's head is still out the window, and his naked body is on display, when he hears:

"Mommy, what's that?"

It's a child walking on the sidewalk with their mother outside of their unit.

"DON'T LOOK TIMMY!!!" the mother says as she pulls him away. The child starts crying, and that's when Hyunjin knows he needs to get out of the window.

Hyunjin carefully pulls himself back into the living room, but his head is bleeding from where the glass cut him. Chan stands up and starts licking at Hyunjin's wounds.

"I'm into that shit, we should experiment with blood next time," Chan smirks. Hyunjin smiles back with a chuckle.

Changbin finally pulls out of Hyunjin with a sigh, and they all plop down on Hyunjin's living room bed, gasping for breath. As the sweat is drying from their skin, Wolf Chan, Dwaekki, and Jiniret are looking down on them all, scarred for life.

Thank you so much for this ask!! I have a lot of headcanons for these two but after writing close to 150k words for this fic I'm not sure there are many I haven’t shared 😅 But there's a few that come to mind (mostly fluffy bc I love them):

- Every year Achilles makes a cake for Patroclus’s birthday. Every year, he fucks it up somehow. Either the frosting isn't right, or it doesn't cook all the way, or it deflates, or he forgets to get one ingredient or other. He has many talents but baking isn't one of them 🤣 And it's almost become kind of a tradition now so Achilles is always looking forward to Patroclus' reaction when he presents him his little fucked up cake. 

- They once tried to build a boat/raft from scraps and bits of wood they found in the garage and the fields. They started the project because a)they were bored, and b) Ajax told them that the Spercheios river goes all the way down to Athens (it doesn't). It took them two weeks to finish it and gather provisions etc for their voyage. They took it to the creek. It sank. Achilles cried for hours. It was wild

- I think this is obvious from the fic but as well as they get on with each other they do bicker quite a lot. Achilles can be deeply annoying and/or set in his ways, and Patroclus is also stubborn, in his own way. He is sometimes hesitant to try new things or might get a little sad and withdrawn or completely tune Achilles out, and Achilles just wants to shake him LOL. Also growing up Patroclus had to sometimes act as Achilles' impulse control, like "no we can't set this random pile of dried leaves by the side of the road on fire" or "no we won't ride to the beach at 3am on a winter Tuesday, we have class tomorrow" etc etc, but more often than not he is following Achilles in whatever dumb thing he's made up his mind to do, and then they bicker when it all goes south instead 🙃

- While they were in Phthia, they actually slept together almost every night whenever Peleus wasn't home. It wasn't romantic or anything at first, they just spent so much time together and in each other’s rooms that it didn't make sense to separate for sleep. Or sometimes they'd just fall asleep while talking/reading/watching films etc. Also like, with no parents or other caretakers in sight they were essentially each other’s source of comfort and affection and sometimes you just want to cuddle up with your bestie under a blanket and not do much else. ALSO also this isn't surprising bc the story deals quite a bit with toxic masculinity and internalised homophobia and how that affects Pat and Achilles, but I have a lot of thoughts about how the pressure to "man up" and "be tough" as they grew up really started to wear on them (especially Achilles), bc like what's wrong with crying or showing emotion or hugging your best friend or holding his hand or kissing him on the cheek! What's wrong with being soft and tender with the people you care about, what's wrong with any of it. So being able to come back home and have their safe space to vent and cry and be goofy and cuddle and not have to act a certain way around each other was such a lifesaver for them.

[Also I think their physical intimacy is something that's universal across every possible iteration of Patrochilles out there lol they're just super comfortable touching and hugging and kissing etc and I simply love how it might not even have sexual connotations a lot of the time, it's just something they do. They just like to glomp]

- I think this has been mentioned in the fic at some point, but Achilles often composes incredibly silly songs on the guitar or changes the lyrics to popular songs to tease Patroclus and Laika with. Often extremely early in the morning.

- Achilles has taught himself to knit and crochet as a result of a past hyperfixation over the span of a summer. The bright orange scarf he wears in Chapter 20 is one of his own creations, and Patroclus literally loves that thing. He teases him about it all the time. Achilles has made a few wonky beanies and mittens for Patroclus as well while he was practicing, they're very stylish (NOT lmao)

I'd absolutely love to answer this question! I love meeting fellow acespecs and learning their experiences, because it's not very talked-about and it can feel devastating and so lonely when you're first trying to figure things out!

For anyone wondering what "acespec" is, it's shortened for the asexual spectrum! Someone who is asexual may not experience sexual attraction/desire, but that's very broad and we're all different! :))

For me, I discovered my identity when I realized that I didn't like receiving in any sort of way. Really, the first clues, looking back, were that I never did find myself that curious about sex at that teenage age where all my friends were. I also didn't find myself fantasizing about anyone, when again, all my peers were. I just thought I'd "grow out of it", and that I'd be "normal" when I was older.

News flash, that's not the way it went.

I realized that receiving during sex for me on my actual body (i.e., the strap is not a part of my anatomical body and so I love using it/receiving on it) made me feel... "gross"? That might not be the right word, but it's the best word I can find for now. It doesn't make me feel good.

For a long time, I thought it was because I wasn't ever really comfortable (in terms of being vulnerable) with the people that I was hooking up with. Now imagine my surprise when I found out that it's not just me - there's a term for it! "Ace"! Or rather, "acespec"!!! It was a eureka moment for me, and everything started to make sense. I finally didn't have to be so uncomfortable and just receive (to be "normal"), because it is normal to be on the acespec for some people! Before realizing this, I was very bad with boundaries and just let myself dissociate while receiving because I thought that was the proper way to do things, as to not upset my partners, whether it be relationships or randoms. But once I found that there's a word for that, it made me almost cry from knowing that I'm not alone in feeling that way.

In terms of intimacy in the sense of giving, I love giving. I love it so damn much. I love being a Domme. I learnt that there is a word for this too! "Stone top"!!! Again with the happiness when I realized that this was a feeling that had a label!!!! Whilst I know that labels aren't everything, and that some people don't like them, it really helped me in that moment, knowing that there was a label for someone like me.

For me, being acespec also includes not having a very high libido on a day-to-day basis, so I don't ever really initiate sex, if that makes sense? But once it's initiated by a partner, I can be absolutely down to pleasure them. This can also be difficult because multiple partners in the past have thought that I don't initiate because I "don't find them attractive anymore" and stuff like that, but that is absolutely not the case.

We're all goofy lil things, and we're all different!

@fairyhagmother Nell!! I have finished Bliss and Blunder. (did you get my ask the other day?) I meant to post some thoughts as I read it but I got engrossed in it on sunday and read most of it that day, so I thought I might as well wait till I finished it.

[this isn't a review or anything, just random thoughts. a stream of consciousness if you will. it's nearly 2.30am and I'm so -> LOL I'm re-reading this at 7.30am the next day and I literally fell asleep while typing this? like mid-sentence. ‘sleepy’ is what I meant to write obviously. I was adding this bit after writing the whole post so you can imagine how coherent it is]

some general thoughts (I'll keep anything above the cut spoiler-free):

it was a fun read! I was a bit wary of the constantly switching POV at first because inevitably there’s going to be some character I just don’t care much about and chapters from their POV will be a drag. but thankfully I cared about all characters here—some more than others, of course, but there was never a point where I was bored of reading about someone. the jumping between past and present worked well in keeping the tension up.

I wouldn’t have picked this book if it hadn’t been sold as an arthurian retelling (reworking?)—would I have enjoyed it as much if it hadn’t been one? would I have cared about arthur and gwen as much, had they been andrew and gabrielle? probably not, half the fun was picking up the nods to arthurian canon. at the same time, if these are meant to be arthurian characters, I’m not fully convinced by some elements of the transposition. 

the main one being—tech bro arthur. does it work? I’m not sure. yes, the wealth and power and admiration of his people are all there, and even arthur’s noble intentions, at least at first. the problem is that—with the exception of galahad, and possibly lancelot—the other knights become just… some guys. arthur’s nepo besties.

they’ve not done anything of note, have no special talent or skill, they're not even particularly loyal to arthur. he's bought their friendship, pretty much. there’s a chapter where morgan reflects on the meaning of chivalry, so the author must have considered it and I suppose it’s intentional, but still, are they even the same characters at this point?

not that it mattered that much—they were minor characters after all. I was just thinking about it. because if you tell the average person to think about king arthur the first thing they'll think of will be the round table.

I think the bond forged in battle between soldiers is the closest modern equivalent to the bond between arthurian knights, which is probably why lancelot and wayne feel closer to the characters they’re based on. 

they’re certainly nobler than arthur’s ‘court’. the hints to the ugliness hiding just below the civilised surface (like galahad being called ‘it’ at work, which arthur might or might not be aware of) were subtle and slightly unnerving, as was the facade cracking at the end (the ‘black bastard’ shout during the football match) before the truth about the sexual assaults came to light.

another missing element for me (if we want to call it that)— was merlin. where was he!! only hinted at twice towards the end. I would’ve liked to see him instead of falstaff. who was there for some reason.

what was the deal with him btw? why is he here. who invited him?? I wasn’t too annoyed by him because thankfully he wasn’t in it much, but he felt unnecessary to me. maybe because of my personal beef with henry iv. (well, beef isn’t quite the word—the fact is, I love my richards and my henry vi plays, but henry iv and v? they’re nothing to me. in the sense that I barely remember them. and falstaff—I don’t hate him, but I don’t feel any particular fondness towards him. I didn’t care about his silly goofy antics in henry iv and I cared even less here. but I know he's a beloved literary character so maybe it's just me. I just think if you're going to insert an odd, seemingly immortal old man into your arthurian novel, you might as well make him merlin).

I was glad the book didn’t devolve into a full murder mystery—I mean, yes, the mystery of Carly’s death was certainly an important element, but it didn’t overshadow the rest of the plot if it makes sense? it was still mostly driven by interpersonal conflicts, which I liked.

the reveal of the killer was all right. it didn’t exactly come out of the blue (though I briefly suspected lancelot or even arthur at some point). once it became clear it was one of the guys at the company I didn’t care about it that much? I was like, okay. can we get back to morgan and gwen please. but it was quickly resolved so. (the misogynist motive and tirade felt a bit facile, but I did not see the answer to Sir Gromer Somer Joure’s riddle coming. that was a nice touch.)

the description of gwen and morgan’s friendship and subsequent falling out was touching, and I think that’s the moment that actually pulled me into the story. it’s funny because last week some friends and I were talking about how women/girls often seem to have this tragic ‘breakups’ with their best friends which can be more dramatic than a romantic breakup. how it seems to be more of a female phenomenon (?) purely anecdotal of course, and something that never happened to me to this extent, but there you go.

I quite liked the author’s characterisation. I loved most characters, really.

(g)wayne!! struggling with anger management and internalised homophobia and WHAT on earth was that deal with the pub landlord. I mean, I understand what it’s based on, but? at first I thought ‘oh okay it’s a sex thing’. like kay said to arthur, ‘cuckolding is a thing’. but then the punch? I had surmised the lesson vern was trying to teach wayne at that point but still. so weird. personally I think wayne should’ve stayed with vern and lou as their third or something, but whatever. hope he has fun in vietnam.

galahad!! it would have been soooo easy to make gal accidentally insufferable (sanctimonious and holier-than-thou) but there’s something so earnest about them, they ended up being so sweet. going on an unprompted tirade about veganism and then apologising immediately after. thinking about nuking the internet because humans are the scourge of the earth. I love them.

lancelot my beloved. ptsd-riddled, unhealthily infatuated, melancholy and tragic. I don’t care how cheesy it is, you put in front of me a variation of lancelot and guinevere’s doomed love story and I lap it all up. the bit where the comet goes over abury and looks down at them in the car park and thinks ‘oh no you two, not again…’ (or whatever it was, I can’t be bothered to check now)—that bit made me a bit emotional? so cheesy, but like I said. yes please! I’ll have some more.

I wish we had seen a bit more of lancelot and arthur’s friendship instead of being told they were best friends, because they didn’t feel that close actually. yet arthur should be hurt by lancelot’s betrayal as much as gwen’s.

I loved gwen and mo’s relationship too. the two of them looking at arthur as a common enemy. mo, the perceptive child picking up on all the clues pointing to arthur’s emotional neglect towards him and his mom, and to lancelot’s love for guinevere, and picking gwen’s side. mo glueing gwen’s hand in the kitchen and picking up thrush med for her at boots.

arthur was fascinating, I liked him but was never quite sure what to think about him. seemingly good guy, all wrapped up in plausible deniability. It’s like I said… all around decent guy… excluding an incident or two. kay’s memory of arthur throwing his own computer from his window and letting kay take the blame was chilling, in context. but still, the hint of redemption at the end. I liked that he made up with mo and morgan, actually. I’m not sure I would’ve enjoyed a tragic ending. In fact, I want to believe that lancelot got to see gwen again, too. I want them to get a happily ever after, for once.

I liked the humour, more than a few sentences had me laughing out loud—‘like the diet coke man if he was on the spectrum’; arthur thinking gwen wasn’t much of a cook, which was comically petty in the midst of all that was going on; linnet and her legendary tits. I liked that the (mostly female) secondary character who provided some of the comic relief still retained some measure of dignity. I smiled at linnet and carly’s mom and gwen’s ex colleague, but in an affectionate way? they might be a bit silly but they don't come across as stupid, and even had their moments of wisdom.

I enjoyed the writing style, overall. I suppose, if I were to nitpick, the characters’ thoughts (and sometimes dialogue) felt at times slightly odd because it reflected the author’s style rather than… the character’s personality? am I making sense? there were a couple of instances where the writing drew attention to itself and made me go ‘she would not say/think that’. but for the most part it wasn’t an issue.

oooh sorry I’ve written so much and I’ve said nothing of substance. and now I’m getting a headache so I’m going to stop here I think. But yes I did enjoy the book, it was fun! 

it has also opened my third eye to the beautiful potential of mordred/galahad. sorry to be basic! but they were cute.

[random thought I don't know where to insert: was gwen's brother supposed to be agravaine? or inspired by him? because he said something like ‘and they call me aggro’ to gwen in one of the earliest flashback chapters, which I thought was a clue, but then nothing came of it? I think?]

My name is Brielle, first off. brie for short!! :D (pronounced 'BREE-EL')    appearance: i dont really know how to describe my skin tone. it's like a honey-bronze, I think? im black and Mexican, but my father is a light skinned black so im not that dark in colour, and my mom is a light skinned Mexican. idk im just tan lol. 

I have dark brown eyes and im pretty sure their almond shaped, and I have naturally curly lashes. my eyebrows are short and have an itty bitty arch at the end

im not slim or skinny, but im also not overweight. im like.. average ig 

I think I'm a pear body shape 

im a curly girly!! im a 3a. my hair color is like a medium brown. I have natural light brown and blonde highlights, and I have a few red undertones. it falls just under my shoulders when curly, but is to my bust when straightened.

I have freckles on my cheeks and on my hands. my hands are soft (as ive been told) and my fingernails grow fast, but I bite them because of my anxiety so their usually short. 

personality: im a 100% extrovert!!! im very social and loveee talking to others!! like, I scream in public regularly. im also very sensitive. if I see someone cry, I cant help but sob with them. when I get frustrated or angry, tears. its not embarrassing to me though. I think being open with your emotions is very important!!! I also adore to laugh. like alot. ive been told that im kind of a doormat for people I have soft spots for, but for the most part im super vocal about my opinions and im strong with my vocabulary and choice of words. im normally an overall goofy and silly person, but when something serious, or something im passionate about comes up, serious brie comes alive!! I have low self esteem, and get kinda bashful when receiving compliments.. im an over thinker for sure. i overanalyze random stuff cus yes. anxiety sucks man. im also moody. one day ill literally be depressed and hate myself, the next day im smiling and cheerfully skipping around. I'm not super back into Bakugan (that five-year solo special interest phase will be missed) BUT impulse buying a Shun funko pop has reignited something in me

SO I'm gonna write some random headcanons of the core six (anything after season one doesn't exist to me lol sorry) and their Bakugan:

-Hitting Shun with the Autisti-fication beam. Only talks when he feels it's important, super observant, can't tell you how he feels for the life of him (I am him, actually). In my hc, he's pretty sensitive to bright lights, fucking hates people touching his forearms or neck, as is over-empathetic.

-Runo wants to be a lawyer. No one's 100% sure where this ambition came from, but it likely has something to do with the constant sexual harassment she faces in her current workplace under the watch of her criminally ignorant father... but who knows🤷‍♀️

-Always designating this hc to the loudest mf in the show, but Dan is a youtuber. That guy is an absolute Clout Chaser. He'd do a lot of irl stuff I think, like challenges, pranks, storytimes- and of course, a lot of Bakugan content. Some would compare him to David Dobrik. He'd fucking kill those people.

-Julie lifts. Girl could bench-press you in a heartbeat. When she gets excited, she'll just grab whoever's closest to her and twirl them around like a doll. However, she's learned to ask people if they're okay with this beforehand since becoming friends with the aforementioned autistic ninja. ^^^

-Alice listens to Death Grips when she knits. That's it. Guillotine has the best rhythm for knitting in her opinion.

-Marucho had a big "in a silly goofy mood😋" phase after he stopped being his parents' bitch. He tried really hard to do silly and "outlandish" things that were actually like... bare minimum. He used an empty chip packet as a hat and thought he was going completely off the rails.

-Obviously Runo swears the most out of the group- girl has a lot to say, and a lot of it consists of "you dumb fucking bitch." Dan tries to swear just as much, but it doesn't come naturally to him so it always feels very off when he does. Marucho, Shun, and Julie don't swear as often, but when they do, it's always unexpected and very hilarious. Alice is the only one who actively doesn't want to swear.

-On the Bakugan's end, Preyas uses a lot of old-timey slang for swear words. Dan told Drago that "fuck" is interchangeable with "play" and insanity ensued. Gorem tries not to swear because he knows it's impolite. Tigrerra also thinks it's impolite, but sometimes you just need to call your fellow Bakugan a bitch (and damn does it feel good, even if they have no idea what you're talking about). Skyress only swore once, when she told Shun's grandpa that she fucked Shun's mum. Hydranoid has never heard a swear word in his life and Alice is determined to keep it that way.

-Little self-insert shipper Laz would kill current me for this, but it has to be said: Dan, Runo, and Shun are in a polyamorous relationship. Three bisexual icons. It was bound to happen. I could write a whole post about their relationship if I could be bothered. Maybe I will be bothered one day.

-Actually maybe the entire gang is bisexual (except for maybe Alice... we need a lesbian other than the pretty evil Vexo lady). At first I thought about making Julie a lesbian, because then she'd be a pink femme lesbian (just like me fr), but I do kind of like her relationship with Billy, so she's yet another bicon. I've also heard of this dude named Tsubasa Ren that Marucho has a thing for, so *slams fist on table* ANOTHER BICON.

-Okay maybe the Vexos and the Resistance and whatever other fucking aliens they added do exist to me, I'll just ignore their entire storyline and how they fucked over my three leading ladies.

MUGGLES HAD PROM. You were certain of it, even if you had never set foot in a muggle school, because your muggle friends would rave about the formal dance each time you saw them. Who was the best dressed, what scandal or love triangle the prospect of dates had revealed, and whether the infamous prom King and Queen deserved the title. You listened politely, and although the idea of being asked by a handsome boy and dancing the night away in a fluffy dress under countless stars seemed somewhat appealing to your romantic heart, you still believed it was all a pretty superficial mascarade.

Your opinion of it all completely changed when the Yule Ball came around the corner at Hogwarts.

It turned out that it was extremely fun to see the entire school bubbling with excitement and teenage crushes. Suddenly, the grounds buzzed with excitement everywhere students walked, and from time to time the joyous chatter of the Hufflepuff common room would make way for a shy proposal. The few days preceding the dance, the professors themselves could hardly focus on anything else than the ball - the amusement it would entail for some, the sheer horror of having to watch over hundreds of hormonal students for most.

You barely expected it - some part of your heart did, as always, but it was foolish to entertain those dreams -, and yet, a few days before the fateful night, George asked you to be his date, and you accepted it an heartbeat. To be fair, you would have asked him if he had not, even if it were just as friends; you couldn’t pass up on the opportunity of enjoying a night of dancing and music and free food and laughter with your two best friends. However, when George had made it clear that he was asking you as his date with that self-assured and goofy smile you loved, and not just his best friend like you had been for years, you were thrilled. You barely focused on your classes, anxiously awaiting the ball.

When the famous night finally arrived, you were even more bubbly than usual, and had been laughing all day at any random comment you’d heard. Your friends had largely teased you all evening, bringing up your crush on George with silly voices. Denying it was of no use anymore, you figured... besides, as you got to the Great Hall to meet George there, bouncing up and down in your flowy, gold - comfortable nevertheless! - dress, you promised yourself nothing would undermine your good mood.

Quite the contrary, actually. It soared high up in your chest when you ran down the main staircase, your heels resounding like a joyous firecracker, to where George was waiting for you next to his brother. A little flare rose up in your ribcage at the sight of him in a tuxedo, complete with the bowtie he swore he would never get close to, but you focused on your own smile as to not let your cheeks redden in front of him.

“Madame,” George purred with a grin, extending his arm to you.

Sticking out your tongue at Fred’s mock whistling, you linked your arm to George’s, and with a pang of excitement that you suspected was more due to his warm chest right next to yours than to the actual dance, you marched into a winter wonderland. On your best friend’s arm, shining in gold against his black, you were a blizzard princess entering a realm of magic on the most beautiful night of your life.

You couldn’t keep the grin off your face as you watched the Triwizard Tournament champions open the ball. By the way George held you close on the side of the dancefloor, shoulders relaxed and his cheek brushing the side of your head, you could tell there were no hard feelings on his part for not being able to rig the tournament and compete as well. Still, as you swayed lightly to the music, without even realizing it completely, you couldn’t help wishing you were gliding gracefully with your love in your arms, before everyone’s eyes, like in a fairytale...

As you formulated the thought, and pushed your mindless sulking to the side of your head - this was a ball, after all, and you were there to dance, and you would! -, George pulled away just a little, and offered you a hand in the most (and way too for it to be natural) gallant way, although you could tell by his eyes that he was really enjoying making a spectacle of himself.

“May I have this dance, my lady?”

At that, you giggled. “My lady”. What absurdities had you heard from this mouth in so many years, only to be bested by him trying to be a gentleman! You adored it, though. He was an idiot, but a gentle bolt of love coursed through your veins at how special it made you feel.

“You are my date, George. Of course you can have this dance.”

“I’m just making sure. Nothing tells me that you haven’t started hating me from the moment we stepped inside.”

“I will hate you if we don’t dance.”

No, you wouldn’t hate him. Besides, you can tell he’s eager to waltz with you, just as much as you are with him. As he leads you to the center of the dancefloor among the other couples, and settles his hand on your waist, however, a flash of panic dawns on you.

“George, I... I can’t really dance.”

Yet your hand finds his shoulder like you’ve waltzed a hundred times before. Maybe the practice in your dreams has translated into the certainty of your arms, like a serene haze taking over you.

“Does Harry look like he knows how to dance?” George replies, unfazed.

You huff, remembering his clumsy steps, and Parvati’s excruciatingly obvious efforts not to wince whenever he would dig his heel into her shoes. So much for being the Chosen One, destroyer of Evil, child of prophecy, youngest Gryffindor Seeker and Magnet to Trouble; the boy surely can’t manage his feet and hands doing two different things at the same time.

“Then we’ll make it work. We can’t be worse, right?”

You barely had the time to nod before the music picked up again in a gentle ternary rhythm, and you stepped backwards with as much elegance as you could to conceal the fact that really, you were just instinctively dodging George’s foot. However, as the song progressed, and you grew less stiff, letting the warmth radiating from George’s fingers melt you down, your steps became more fluid, aerial almost, and a wave of contentment surged over you when you noticed that waltzing was not that dreadful after all, that you'd seen it done before hundreds of times on TV and in musicals, and that when George twirled you around, your dress lifted up ever so slightly and blew a ravishing breeze on your ankles. Each time he did, you retained a giggle, and your heart opened more. From the corner of your eye, you noticed other couples, still indecisive, scrutinizing your legs. They were all trying to understand what spell Margaret and George, of all people, had used to float a few inches above the ground.

There was no spell, no trick. Just smiles, frenetically beating hearts behind composed and amused faces, a glimmer of laughter barely contained, and unbreakable trust and guidance.

Just what you would have called love, if someone had asked you...

All too soon, the song came to a halt, letting the last notes sizzle quietly, hovering in the air around you. Just a little breathless, you looked up at George, and saw an infinite devotion in his eyes when they draped over yours.

“Thank you,” you murmured over the sound of your erratic heartbeat and the violins dying down onstage.

“Why, the pleasure’s all mine,” he responded, leaning in slightly.

The same careful fire pulled you toward him, your lips upturned to meet his for the first time... and then an all too familiar beat broke the silence, thunderous and frenetic, and you realized what you were about to do. Suddenly you had pulled back, cheeks crimson and short of breath, not only because you recognized one of your favorite Muggle musical songs to dance to, but also due to the wave of adrenaline that washed over you and painted you red.

“Merlin! I can’t believe they’re playing this!”

“What is this?” he yelled back, beaming as well. A single silver star shone in his eyes. There would many opportunities to pick up where you left off later. But you could only dance to Footloose with George at the Yule Ball once.

“It’s Muggle rock! Dance with me!”

Grabbing his arm, you led him to the centermost point of the dancefloor, where gasping, enthusiastic Muggleborns were already bouncing in a circle. George followed you, not knowing a thing of what was happening, but laughing nonetheless. No use in knowing the details when you’re certain you’re going to have a good time.

“How did that movie go again?” you yell at another student, bouncing excitedly on their feet, but they merely shook their head with unbridled energy and got back to jumping around.

“I have no idea what I’m supposed to do!” George exclaimed, barely containing his laughter anymore. Stars of glitter covered your eyes and every morsel of your skin - you were having none of that.

“Me neither! Just follow the rhythm! If I can learn to do it, then you can learn to do it!”

You couldn’t feel your feet before the chorus even kicked in, but the lyrics came to you like second nature, and soon you were twisting and twirling and jumping under George’s arm, who, judging by the everlasting creases by his eyes, much prefered this kind of party. Your golden skirt, lifted in the air with every movement you made, shone like a thousand suns in this palace of ice. And yet George and your’s laughter was the brightest spot in the entire castle of ardent souls losing themselves to a frenetic Muggle guitar riff.

hello, how are you? i'm here to apologize for stupid stuff i asked here when i was like 10 even though you almost definitely don't remember (especially since i'm anonymous) it's been weighing on my conscience for a while. hope you're doing ok.

Hello, Ruddles! I’m doing well and I hope you are too. This message says a lot about you as a person (all good things!) and the growth you’ve had over the years, but I can promise you there’s no reason at all for your past actions on this blog to be on your conscience. 

For one thing, you’re entirely right: I remember none of it! I’ve had exhausting questions and even a little “hate” over the years here, but I don’t actually remember much of it specifically because most of the time it’s goofy nonsense from people who either have no idea what I’m doing here and feel it’s their mission to correct and/or fight me (a weird and laughable life choice, usually from very confused people and not, strictly speaking, hate of any kind) OR it’s because whatever insult or comment they’ve made doesn’t actually bother me on the grounds of who cares what some random [probably angry, still-developing teen] thinks of me. 

The other thing is: you were a kid! Everyone makes mistakes and behaves unideally, and especially when you’re young. I write this blog very aware (as I should be) that the target demographic the books are aimed at are kids, and overall the fandom for Warriors skews downwards of 25. That makes most of this fandom basically kids! Even the adults are in phases of their lives where there’s a lot of growing up still left to do (myself included). So I know people are going to come and be messy, for lack of a better word, in my askbox from time to time. They’re going to say rude things out of thoughtlessness or a sense of righteousness, or they’re going to want to argue because in other areas of their life they feel powerless and ignored, or they’re just... being silly or confused kids sometimes! Everyone goes through stages like that. So overwhelmingly I don’t take it personal when it happens on my doorstep; it’s always more about the other person than anything I’ve said or done, especially when the reaction is trying to be hurtful, etc.

I admit there’s been some questions over the years that I’ve felt weren’t great or were a bit silly or asked a lot of me, but honestly that’s part of running an askblog! Interacting with people on social media invites “dumb questions” just by the nature of how people use this technology--and frankly, the stance I’ve always tried to take here is that if someone has a chance to learn something new from a question, it’s not dumb. So I’ve always tried to turn “silly” questions into teaching opportunities, because that makes me feel like my time isn’t wasted and that I’ve turned a “negative” experience into a positive one for us both. I haven’t always succeeded, of course: I’ve had to do a lot of growing up while running this blog as well, and I’m very glad for it (but often wish I had the wisdom and insight I do now when I began). But that’s life!

It’s really sweet of you to apologise and I appreciate it, but really, there’s no need. Just forgive yourself your mistakes and move on. I hope you’ll continue to write in to Ailuronymy, anon or not. Take care!
