The thing about belonging to a guild is THE GUILD LIBRARY because while ravelry-style fiber arts are Popular Internet subjects, there's been thriving subcultures around fiber arts that go way deeper and a lot of the actual books you can find on the subject were written prior to 2002 and were self-published.
currently restraining myself from buying one of two used copies I've been able to find of a particular book because my brain is so so susceptible to scarcity, and scarce this book is.
also the only book I've been able to get my hands on about nalbinding was published in Oslo in 1961 in norwegian.
I guess what I'm saying is that I've finally hit a niche that a well-equipped university library wouldn't be able to automatically fulfill. (my major in undergrad was not specific enough that I had to track down any particular tomes. Maybe one or two articles from the 50s for a historiography paper, but that was it and pdf-scannable).
