How do you picture Jekyll & Hyde in your mind?
[For me, Jekyll looks like an extremely attractive older gentleman in his early fifties with white hair, glasses, and tired eyes.
Hyde looks like how Jekyll looked in his early twenties, but significantly shorter and eyes that are just a little too vibrant to be natural.]
i’d say i imagine them along the same lines !!
i see them as both having brown hair. jekyll is older and dresses very proper, in neutral colours likes browns and beiges. he is very prim and proper most of the time, though when he’s overworked himself in the lab a little too much he’ll lose the blazer and his hair comes a bit undone (i see him as having his hair up a lot, or at least that’s how i draw him to differentiate a bit better. hasselhoff style). he usually wears a small pair of glasses and if it’s the musical version then he’s always wearing his engagement ring. actually, i see musical!jekyll as being a little more respectable looking than book!jekyll, since that latter is more of a recluse

hyde i see as being young and shorter than jekyll (of course). his eyes are sharper and more piercing than jekyll’s, and with how he wears his hears and the way he tends to slouch, his face tends to be kind of shadowed a lot of the time. his hair is always down, it falls all over his fair and gets tangled easily. he wears more greys and blacks compared to jekyll and layers up in coats to give himself a more assuming build than he actually has. musical!hyde keeps the engagement ring on because he likes to think that lisa/emma is his too. he wears a top hat sometimes, also, because he thinks it makes him look respectable

(i’ve shared this art before but just to give a better visual reference ill put them here too)
i might make a secondary deisgn for them both where they are more visually different because i think that’s fun, but for me a big aspect of designing them was trying to get across that they do look different, but they’re still the same guy, still inhabit the same body, you know?

Haha I’ll try to explain what it’s like with aphantasia for me although I understand it as a spectrum.
So like I know I know things. My brain recognizes people that I meet, I can describe details about them generally, although often not well, and it’s the same for places. If I see a picture or say Disneyworld or something, I recognize it and I know I’ve been there. I have the memory of going. What I don’t have personally (although I understand some people have at least a little) Is any sort of visual memory. I cannot close my eyes and bring up any sort of visualization about being in Disneyworld. When I close my eyes, it’s just black.
It’s the same for the physical description of every person I’ve ever met (and I guarantee you I am terrible at remembering people who look somewhat alike) or places I’ve been or things I’ve seen or read. On the bright side, I’m never disappointed by casting when books get made into movies because while other people create images of characters from description I can’t.
I can’t generally listen to anything that would be helped by visualization on the radio. Like I said, I cannot watch sports and understand what is happening unless I can see it because I don’t think my brain can compute what’s going on. So like, I don’t watch football at all, which is part of the problem, but when you describe plays I can’t convert it into anything. Even if I did understand football, I wouldn’t be able to though. Sports I do follow, I can’t listen to play-by-play of at all. I know what the words mean, I can understand the point of it, but I’ve got no visuals at all.
I guess that’s pretty much it, really. I’ve got no visuals of anything ever. If you tell me to describe an apple, I can. I know it’s round and red and what it tastes like generally etc. I just don’t have a visual of an apple. I can’t close my eyes and “see” an apple like I know some of the people I know can.
I think it is at least partly genetic because my sister is exactly the same. I remember when we discovered it was an Actual medical condition a couple years ago, and she didn’t believe me that people saw things in their minds. Wild few days polling everyone we knew about apples, let me tell you.
FASCINATING. I think this stuff is so interesting- how our brains work differently and half the time you don’t even realize it because it’s normal for you so you don’t think it would be different for anyone else. Thank you for this, seriously my mind is blown. Just….fascinating.

Shep. Pls infodump. Pls.
Alright so like, shep, right?Shep was raised by these two people who are PROBABLY named ryan and zephyr which hasn’t been entirely planned yet but whatever I basically wing everything anyway.Anyway ryan and zeph are his biological parents and they do this cool thing where zeph is mystic magenta’s sister therefore making me able to relate my beautiful sons taylor and mystic to this godawful storySo the thing about ryan and zeph is that like theyre super nice people, really accepting and shit and theyre both pan AS WELL as having his uncles are gay so shep never really felt the pressure to be straight and his parents were always like ‘be proud of yourself!” and stuff like that so he’s kinda rlly chill about being gay and doesn’t particularly struggle with any sort of internalised homophobiaBut on the OTHER hand ryan and zeph are both children of archangels, which means they are very magic strong. Which is bad for shep, because he is REALLY not magic strong at all. He fucking sucks at magic, and at the beginning of the story, the only weapon he can make is a pole. So he feels bad about that and also feels pressure to be good at magic because both his parents are really good at it, and also ryan’s sister was champion of combat for a while so like everyone he knows is really good at magic and he’s like “eh. Haha. Look at this pole I can make sometimes.”But THAT actually is because, technically, shep has a learning disability! And it’s a condition that exists in our world too, except it isn’t really a disability I think because there isnt a way in which it disables the people with it except for- OKAY before I confuse you all, back on trackShep has aphantasia, which is the lack of a mind’s eye, so, he can’t see pictures in his mind the way most people can. In shep’s world this is actually a pretty fuckin severe, for lack of a better word, disability because a lot lot LOT of magic, nearly all of it, is based off visualisation. So shep can’t really visualise anything, so instead he uses ideas and descriptive words and feelings for his magic. Except that is super fucking inefficient which means he is very slow at learning magic and he very much struggled with magic in school, because he went to a school where magic was the focus because it was for angels – I forgot to mention, he’s an angel – and he Hated it because he just did so. Badly. He’s actually alright at most other subjects, but in a world where magic is a necessity, he is considered disabled.Of course, this did not get picked up. By anyone. Like when you’ve spent your life different, you don’t really know how different it is until somebody points it out. And the mind’s eye isnt a frequent topic of conversation. Shep spent his life telling himself how useless he was, how he was a failure and he got bullied pretty badly in school too, by students and teachers. I think he’d probably actually do better if he learnt magic in a way that worked for him, like, if he actually knew what his deal was he could go and find a magic class taught in more abstract concepts he’d probably do alright. But I’m an asshole He doesn’t know.Uh, what else. He was also pretty chill with levi being trans because his pretty openly trans too, like, he used to be super secretive about it and then after- I’M GETTING OFF TOPIC AGAIN.Shep enjoys maths and bad soap operas. I don’t even know what a soap opera is, but I know its frequently associated with bad TV and have nothing to do with actual soap. also, shep fakes confidence. He pretends to be confident and cool but actualy on the inside he is like 30% anxiety and 30% self-doubt and -loathing. Mostly due to his internalised Bad Stuff about his educative experience.anyway this isnt my best quality infodump but also im kinda trying to avoid spoilers so
