after listening to an among us song i was given the drive to reboot this au so ,

originated from a doodle that spiraled , SPREAD THE INFLUENCE is an au where ragatha is the ( unwilling ) host of a parasite called ' the influence ' which is a virus that only wants to spread and survive . she wasn't compliant about it at the beginning which was ' fixed ' with an itty bitty bit of psychological torment !

also yes i know the abbreviation is unfortunate and i do not care it's funny

even though ragatha's still our usual sweet little optimist , there is this persistent feeling of wrongness . too positive . too affectionate . it's like all of her humanity has been scooped out and you're left with the mask she made for others in the circus .

which is how the virus spread in the circus - they preyed on vulnerabilities which was what their host is perfect for . striking when the victim puts their guards down , making them submit under the guise that their problems will be fixed ... unfortunately it's a monkey's paw situation .

of course , that's only for this particular instance of the influencer ! something to note is that the virus takes a lot from the host's personality , so t.i's mellow and passive , only resorting to violence whenever necessary . t.i's not really an opposite ragatha she's more like a Dark , Fucked Up Version of ragatha the amazing digital circus . she cares a lot for everyone she considers a part of her hive , but it took a lot of manipulation and gaslighting for them to get infected .

caine is left uninfected because " i would do that if my goal is to destroy this place ! " t.i's ultimate fear has always been dying . it'll do everything to not die , to the point it's trying to spread out of the circus ( <- honestly take this info with a grain of salt i wrote this before i fully developed the story ) . unfortunately there's this jester who's resisting the virus with pure lesbian rage and is trying to stop her .

now rags would eventually get de-influenced and the circus will no longer be infected , but we will talk about the extremely rocky journey of recovering from knowing you harmed everyone you cared about Later

was this ' the influence ' that amanda ( ragatha's va ) keeps referencing ? sighs ... yeah . ( feels so surreal that i can say i have their seal of approval for this )

why ragatha ? in story , how is she not the perfect host ? metatextually , this is an au of an au - this came from a blog about ragatha getting a virus that is inconveniencing her life . i simply thought of an idea of ' hey what if the virus took over her body ' one day . then this abomination was born . i would reveal the why and how she got infected ... eventually .........

is she still afraid of centipedes ? is it a ragatha if she doesn't have a fear of centipedes

RORY I NEED OPINIONS (please)

Something popped up on my page and it was about Ghost.

The person who posted proceeded to say how they've had enough of the mischaracterization of him. And other people in the comments have said the same. How whenever they see Ghost written as a cold mean guy, they think, "oh you've never read the comics or played the games."

Now, I'm not here to bash anyone. I just wanna know what you think of people who write OOC {insert character}? Or what do you think about it in general?

Okay, this is one of the things that bothers me the most about the mainstreaming of fandom and fanfiction.

The whole point of fanfiction, is to write the characters however you want to write them. Fanfiction does not have to stick to how characters are presented in fandom. Some might choose to, others might not. Some might choose to in certain fics, and then not to in others. OOC exists as a term for a reason. It's okay. You can write/draw/headcanon/whatever any character however you want because that's your interpretation, or because it's how you want the character to be in whatever situation you're putting them in.

I know I said I was done talking about this, but this circles back around to the whole dark fic issue. "X character wouldn't do this" according to who? The fandom police? That's the whole point. The whole point of fandom and fanfiction is to present the characters however you want. That's always been its purpose. Fix it fics, OOC, crack ficks, dark fics, AUs exist for a reason. Not every character has to act exactly as they do in canon. If you want that, then just watch/read/play the canon media and stay out of the fanfiction side of fandom.

People that get all up in arms about FANFICTION not sticking to canon events and portrayals are ruining fandom. They are. People wonder why creators and fans are leaving fandom, it's because it's not fun anymore. You write a character how you want to write them and there's 50 people complaining in the comments about how "that's not how they are in canon." Yeah? And? That's the point. It's like whole ship thing with people being mad about fans shipping characters that aren't together in canon. News flash, people have been doing that for ages. Since the dawn of fanfiction. People ship characters that aren't even in the same movie or show or game. You gonna get mad about a crossover fic because it's "not canon?"

If you can't accept that FANDOM and FANFICTION aren't always canon compliant then you need to not be in these spaces. Leave us alone and stick to just watching the show/movie or reading the book or playing the game, whatever. You're ruining fandom spaces for everyone. Most of us creators have been in these spaces for a lot longer than the people ruining them. I've been involved in fandoms for 18 years now. Far longer than I should have been, and honestly, if I didn't love writing fanfiction and use it as an outlet for myself so I don't go crazy, I probably would have left too.

These pearl clutchers and mainstream people flooding into fandom that refuse to learn the "rules" and accept how things have been for literal decades are ruining fandom for the rest of us and killing people's passions for writing and creating. Us creators don't have to share. We do it because we want to and because we enjoy seeing others reactions and the interaction that comes from it. We are all very capable of just writing or drawing and keeping them to ourselves. Soon there won't be such a thing as fandom because all the joy will have been sucked out of it. Creators are already leaving in droves because interaction is down to nothing. Add on people getting mad about things that are normal in fandom and soon there won't be anything left. People will be complaining about there being no fandoms and no fanfiction and fanart and video edits and gifs, even though we've been screaming why from the high heavens for years.

To make this clear, Old Mayhem and me NEVER attacked one another.

There's no animosity going on between me and her. Although in the same 'fandom', our blogs exist separately and don't overlap. This doesn't mean hatred. This simply means a different public. The effort that me and her seems to put in the content that we create is massive, so as I said before, I will say I again, be a decent person and don't spread misinformation about what my dynamic between me and her is like. Also, don't spread hateful messages in anyone's inbox about how 'shit their art is' or 'how dare you not like this blog??' Because you NEVER know if the person who reads it has s*****e thoughts and the LAST THING that they read is your spiteful message. It happened with me before, and I wouldn't wish this feeling even on the worst people in my life.

This is all I had to say regarding Old Mayhem.

Now, I want to address the real issue who's name I didn't mention until now, Kelma 69, the one blog who's proud description is 'Getting rid of weird Mayhem fans, mostly from Pelle's fans'.

I don't even have to add anything about this description, her malicious 'witch hunt' intentions are more than obvious and the fact that I seem to be her number one target is sending a shiver down my spine.

I don't have an issue with people who block me and move on with their lives, this is normal, it's expected. But I have an issue with someone who blocks me and keeps endlessly talking about me with every chance they've got, so I want to ask her why?

I never interacted with her before, yet she comes across so vicious about my art and fiction for seemingly no reason other than envy.

Of cause that you're entitled to your own opinion, of course that you don't have to like me, this is absolutely alright, but you should assume your words instead of hiding behind blogs that had been here long before you or 'adjusting' your statements to how it seems more convenient for you.

Calling my art 'crap', than saying 'I'm not insulting the artist' is blatantly lying with proofs on her own page.

Also, the fact that she was both following me and my other artist friends, liking our 'Vargelle' fanarts until someone brought this to her attention and she suddenly blocked me and my friends is a 'getting caught' behaviour. I can understand that she may had liked those fanarts because of Pelle's design, as she mentioned at one point, but some of those drawings didn't even had Pelle's face in it, so how does this work? She also liked fanarts of Varg (alone) even if she hates Varg more than anything, so was this for his 'design' too? Is it?

Also, her parasitic tendency to accociate herself with Old Mayhem to seem relevant, to gain attention and admiration denote very evident deceiving and manipulating tactics.

Another aspect of her double-faced behaviour is the fact that she presents herself as 'shy' when she has no problem whatsoever getting rid of what might step out of her appreciation area. Shyness doesn't come with blunt insults and a covert need for conflict and drama. Shy people doesn't seek reactions, they don't go out to hate on people to boost up their ego and shy people DON'T throw the 'you just play the victim' card whenever they can't find solid arguments against their accusation.

Is calling out someone's falsehood the equivalent of 'playing' the victim? Is this the way to wash your hands clean from taking responsibility?

The fact that you won't allow a conversation to take place and once you consider that 'you're done playing your game' you pull out, just shows how unwilling you are to recognise what you've done.

I hope everyone can leave behind this senseless drama. I'm so sick and tired talking like a broken record about these things.

Live and let live. There's so much to do in life other than being angry about fiction, trust me.

Lack of interaction bothers everyone, you're not saying things that don't make sense. It hurts and it's relatable. Problem is that the more you complain about people not interacting, the faster they'll leave. For example, its not true you never had fanart of your AUs. I remember when you got both text and art for it. You still do sometimes. Less than I could say about me myself, you know? Or many others in this community. You're lucky because you are one of the few people who can say this happened to them. Everyone wants it. You had it and yet you complain it's not enough. It's normal that people who did, might not feel appreciated by you anymore. Because you don't seem to remember it. Sometimes you make comments about how weird it is that people don't like the way you draw Faith characters, but at the same time you jab at those who draw John or Garcia looking too slim for your standards. Or too young. Once a person got nervous, tagging the fandom and telling them to stop drawing John in ships with old men. You didn't like to read that, rightfully like many others. Because people draw what they like. And yet you tag in the fandom and say things like "finally people stop drawing him as a twink! He's not one!" as if you are the only right one here. Maybe they also use their bodies as reference. You're angry and you don't realize you hurt people with what you say. You also talk about how you want your ship to be liked more but people like what they want. Insisting won't change anything. You act like you're the only unlucky one with nobody posting John and Garcia. If people don't like it, you can't make them like it. Which isn't even true, since there are many fan fictions out there on AO3. How many did you link on your page, saying "hey, fellow followers, go read this one!" to give them a hand? How many fan art did you draw for those people who like a ship you say to be less famous? There are people out there that I've seen liking ships I don't even care about who support each other. Such small ships that are even hard to consider. They don't attack, they don't insist. Criticizing Garyjohn and having people leave happened because not many like to have something they like criticized, people get touchy. But it also depends on how you write it. For example I don't care about Garyjohn. I don't even like it, I just shrug and ignore exactly as I shrug an ignore Johncia, because yes. I don't like it. Yet I followed you. Neither are ships I like but that infamous thing that happened some days ago on AO3 made me very angry too. You never did something like that. But you won't decide how sensitive a person is to things they like. About the pillows, it was an investment you decided to do by yourself. I don't know how many people wanted it, how many didn't see it. But it's not always other's fault if your art doesn't get reblogged, if you didn't reach enough people. I don't know how marketing works. I don't know how you guess how many people might be interested or not. This time it went poorly, and it hurts. But it's not our fault. And, we never wanted you to get hurt from drawing too much. Yet you had to almost make us all feel guilty because of that. Because you got hurt. I didn't want you to get hurt. I never told you to work faster and harder.

So I'm not familiar with linked Universe, but I've seen a lot of people say they'll block anybody who post about it and I'm curious why?

I said I wasn't going to answer anymore lu asks but I do feel like giving an explanation as to why myself and a lot of others don't like it would make sense, so. The ice is thin but it's still holding on

As for actual issues, I avoid the fandom, so I'm not qualified to talk on them. This post addresses whitewashing, this post addresses queerphobia, and this and this post address ableism. Sorry for using sources all from one user but they covered it really well imo and these posts are asks brought up by their followers as well. They've also addressed some other issues on their blog (I won't tag them because I know they like the AU, they don't need all the petty reasons I don't like it)

So... I respect the artist for their work, it's really good art, but after learning about the above I'm not sure what to think. My stance used to be no shade to the artist whatsoever, I just don't like the fandom and the content doesn't resonate with me, but now I'm not informed enough to have an opinion on the issues present within the work.

If it makes sense, the fandom is one misstep away from attacking those that disagree with them. Of course, if you're in the loop, everyone loves you! But step just outside the bounds and you've created a split. I can't even express disliking the AU without several people asking why, at least one person telling me not to spread hate. If I said I didn't like Legend of Zelda in general, would you have this discussion with me, or would you just block and ignore me because we have different interests?

My first reason is I just don't like it. I don't agree with their characterization of different Links. The great thing about the game is how open to interpretation their personalities are, and I don't see many of the Links like they do. For example: I don't think Hyrule Warriors Link is a womanizer, I chose the snarky options in Skyward Sword so my Sky isn't as soft, I don't see Ocarina of Time as the most mature of the Links, etc. It should be left there, but unfortunately, the surrounding fandom has made it hard to escape.

Personally, I grew annoyed by a portion of the fandom surrounding the AU taking over the general LoZ fandom. They acted as if LU canon was actual canon, taking the personalities of versatile characters meant to be different to each player and fitting them into tight boxes. Then they spread their reach into normal LoZ content, putting down creators that were different from them. Then they decided they liked the different, and were just going to act like the creator's versions were the canon versions but they could headcanon them different (as opposed to dropping the fanon version and returning to the original blank slate).

90% of Linked Universe fanwork I've seen has nothing to do with Linked Universe. I have every possible tag blocked on Tumblr, but it's not so easy to do that in Instagram, so I do see LU fanwork. The designs and personalities are not the blueprint for Link. A drawing of "Twilight" or "Sky" in a completely different outfit and context is not LU. It's a drawing of TP or SS Link in a different outfit. There is so much that has nothing to do with LU unnecessarily tagged for attention. At this point, I see it as using someone else's work for clout. This differs from fanart of the series, as Zelda was not made by one person. It is the collective work of many developers, and is intentionally ambiguous. LU is one fan creator's interpretation. Changing their designs (instead of making ones inspired by them) and still calling them LU feels disrespectful. (this one is just a pet peeve. But gifs or screenshots from the original game should not be tagged with LU. It has nothing to do with the au. It's the game) I don't believe it to be malicious, but it is disheartening that the only way for others to see artwork is to attach it to someone else's. I think my final straw was when I made a post like haha Skyward Sword Link is a little shit in some of his dialogue isn't he and people were responding with oh he gets it from Legend. No. I don't even know which one Legend is (don't tell me). He gets it from me because he is my version of Link.

Creators should make their own version of Link interaction if they're going to ignore the creator's intent. Headcanons surrounding these characters (especially regarding ships) feel like telling the author they're wrong. They chose to make Malink their canon. They have hinted at Miphlink, Midlink, Marinlink, Zelink, etc. Their Links are cishet, they made that clear. Using the creators designs and saying "oh I actually ship them with so-and-so" feels like telling the creator their ship is wrong. They don't owe anyone queer designs, to be fair. The canon isn't. We forget that. I don't expect them to make something stupid like ghiralink canon. But now that I've seen how they addressed questions about queerness, I'm less inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt that they're just following LoZ canon.

I have seen too many people specify their designs are NOT LU, or apologize for doing the same concept, different games interacting, because they aren't drawing LU, or get hate for not drawing the "canon design" while LU fanartists are praised. LU was not the first to do this concept, and it doesn't own LoZ. This is in no way the creator's fault, but the fans, by creating an environment in which people feel the need to explain themselves in order to not get "called out" or "cancelled".

Also, I found a surprising amount of NSFW Link x Link in LU content? Outing myself as occasionally liking cute Linkshipping (when they're explicitly not related) because I love Skyward Sword, but I do know the author asked specifically not for this to happen. And people acted like it's out of their hands because they posted their work on the internet. They should have expected it to happen, how dare they (and their fans) say they're uncomfortable. Don't like, don't read, right? It felt different from regular content because it was fanwork. The author interacted in the same platform as the people posting the stuff they were uncomfortable with. It's one thing to be like your canon is wrong so I'm stealing your characters to an original work published by an author who has legal protections and inhibitors keeping them from seeing it, another to say your headcanon is wrong so I'm ignoring it and writing my own but similar, and an even worse thing to me to be like your headcanon is wrong so I'm using your character specifically, tying your name to the work, and making it into something you're uncomfortable with. And all they had to do was not tag it Linked Universe? They could even use the same names, same dynamics, just not say it was LU. It was blatant disrespect that could have been avoided by simply not calling it Linked Universe.

Unfortunately, they were the loud majority I had the displeasure of interacting with. I did start out reading the comics when the idea of the links interacting AU was popular, but LU drowned out all other voices (not the creator's fault). So the fandom turned me off from the AU first and foremost.

Total lenghtness,a climatic scene where Jesse is shocked upon seeing Aiden jumping from the plataform only because of an weird purple glowing pearl,at those seconds,he realized how insane Aiden was,willing to risk his own life at any cost to ressurect the Admin,Jesse just watched Aiden falling to a supposed cliff,however,he hears an clingy noise coming from the hole,before spoting Aiden,who managed to grab the pearl in time and hanging onto the cliffside with his sword,Jesse extends his arm to help Aiden,but the latter maliciously laughs,and procceds to place the pearl in his shoulder,Aiden's eyes begin to glow purple,and a purple smoke coming out of the pearl covers him entirely,blinding Jesse for a split second,enough time for Aiden to jump back to the plataform,yelling with a demonic(or heavy)voice,and still holding his sword

Jesse:[sees Aiden putting on the pearl]Okay,so that didn't go as planned...

Aiden:[jumps back to the plataform,with a demonic voice]RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHGG!!![lands in the plataform,holding his sword]This ins't going to be a fair fight![he tosses his sword to Jesse]

Jesse was frightened,seeing Aiden covered in an apparently invulnerable magma stone armor,his clothes and skin were all made out of stone,with purple cracks in a few places and a scar in the right side of his forehead,and his eyes were glowing purple,the only normal thing on him now was his hair,which was at it's normal color and state

Aiden:[in a loud voice]The Pearl of Hatred,a taste of invincibility.Too bad for YOU!!![he runs at Jesse,who rolls to take the sword and strike it on Aiden,but the blade simply brokes]Aaaahhhh!!!!

Scene changes to the Ender Temple's entrance,where Gill and a few Blaze Rods members are waiting for Aiden,all of sudden,the stone wall begins to crack and crumbles,revealing to be Aiden,who used his invincibility to easily break trought the wall,as he leaves,he takes the pearl off his shoulder

Jesse:[frightened]What did the pearl do to you...?

Scene changes to the New Order of The Stone,which were still chained in their ship by the Blaze Rods

Jesse:[shouts]You're a monster!!!I'll never feel what you feel!

Aiden:[Walks away,while turning his head a little]We will see!

Jesse:Fight me!Let's end it here!

Aiden:[Turns back at Jesse]I'm already two steps ahead![he turns and runs away]

Jesse:[realizes what Aiden is about to do]No...[drops his broken sword]DON'T!!!

Aiden leaves the chamber,but before he leaves the temple,he uses his invincibility to crack a wall near a waterfall inside the temple,knowing that it woud flud all the temple and drown Jesse

Aiden:[running,before spoting the wall]Huh?Yaaaaaaaaaa!!![hits the wall with his stone body,causing it to crack]

Jesse:[notices chamber is getting fulled with water]Where's a boat when i need one???!!!

Scene changes to the ship,were the New Order of The Stone is still chained under vigilance of a random biker

Olivia:[Blinks at Axel]

Axel:[Starts singing]🎵charm little glow worm,glamour,glamour🎵

Biker:Ugh,i hate this song,stop it!

Axel:Well,maybe i just want to sing it![keeps singing]

BL Biker:Ugh![blocks his ears]

Olivia:[whispers to Ivor]Now Ivor!

Ivor:[Reveals an metal rusting potion]Boya!

He uses the potion at the chains,which gets rusted and crumbles,before the biker could notice,Petra jumps at him and knocks him councious

Petra:[jumps at BL member]HAYA!

Lukas:Let's get our weapons at the cabin and go after Jesse...before it's too late!

Gill:The Quiet One has the pearl!We have all three!!!

They all shout of joy

Aiden:Now i believe we have a ceremony to attend to!

Aiden:[walks by them]Take the ship!

Scene changes briefly to Jesse swiming through the temple,before being dragged by an up current,meanwhile,the Blaze Rods and Aiden are all leaving the Temple's entrance,but they stop when Radar appears out of nowhere and points his swords at Aiden

Radar:[points his swords to Aiden,while talking on a loud voice]Not so fast!

A female Blaze Rods biker takes off a knife and points it at Radar,while Gill takes off the Ender Pearl of Deception,intending to use it,but he is stopped by Axel,while the rest of New Order of The Stone arrives with their respective weapons

Axel:Careful!I wouldn't want you to upset your friends!

The Blaze Rods are out numbered,as they had split up early in small groups to patrol the island

Ivor:Hah!Looks like WE have the upper han-

He stops talking when he notices that more members were behind him and his friends,pointing swords and knifes to them,while Maya appears out of nowhere holding two sais and pointing them to Lukas,the White Pumpkin appears from up,and points his diamond axes at Ivor

Ivor:Ugh!Olivia,you said we had them out-numbered!

Olivia:Um,that was before i knew how many of them they were![points her bow and arrow to Aiden]

White Pumpkin:[tries to put on the Ender Pearl of Vengeance,but is stopped by Olivia]

Olivia:[staring at WP]Don't.even.think about it!

Radar:This can end in one of two ways[points one of his swords to and upcoming female biker with a knife,stopping her]either you hand over the pearls peacefully...

Ivor:[Sees biker aproaching him]Hehe,i don't even have to know the rest of the choices,i like that one...

Aiden:[shouts]Or what?

Radar:Or we're gonna have to get on heroes on y'a

Aiden:What does that even mean?[he annoingly asks]

Radar:Uh...[shouts]I don't know.Usually Jesse does the talking but he ins't here so...WHERE IS JESSE????!!!!

They all hear someone screaming, revealing to be Jesse,who was launched out of the temple to the air by a blast of water,before landing in the middle of everyone

Axel:[Sees Jesse in the skyes]Oh there he is!Oh...

Jesse:[falling]AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!![Lands hardly in the middle of the New Order]Ugh...

Lukas:Jesse!!You're okay?

Jesse:Ugh,guys,Aiden is the Quiet One!

Radar:Yeah,we kinda got that much...

The Blaze Rods laughs and aproaches them to attack,but they stop when they hear an groan that appears to be familiar to Jesse and Aiden

Aiden:[spots sea creature,revealing it to be a crab-like monster] Aaaahhhh!!!

They all run away,the monster follows them and attack,forcing the New Order of The Stone and the Blaze Rods to work together in order to defeat it,while Gill and WP used the Ender Pearls,the New Order of the Stone used their weapons to fend off the beast,Jesse even had to use his powers,revealing them to his friends and the rest of the Blaze Rods

Petra:[while attacking the beast]Jesse!!You have powers?

Jesse:[summoning his energy to attack the giant crab]Long story,short time,can we focus on that now??!

While they were distracting the monster,Lukas climbed in a few rocks and jumped at the beast,using his spear to encrave it in the beast's head,killing it instantly,and the creature explodes in a puff of smoke

Maya:We have to get you out of here,Quiet One!

Aiden:[shouts]Not without the pearls!

He whistles to Gill and WP,who were using the Ender Pearls to hold off against the now-deceased beast.The Blaze Rods group up and steal the New Order of the Stone's ship

Ivor:Hey,they're getting away!

Jesse:I got this!

Jesse leaps through the Temple's roof,climbing in the ancient stone constructions to jump at the ship,however,once he lands in the ship,Gill appears out of nowhere and grabs him,holding him to the air,while the New Order of the Stone were left behind

Radar:They have Jesse!

Axel:They have the pearls!

Olivia:[spots a lizard like creature aproaching them]And we have trouble...

The creature roars

You were one of my favourite users on Tumblr and It's sad to see everyone just on full-panick modus and sharing their social media on their blogs. It's like a damn apocalypse. And I don't have any other social media I frequently use besides Tumblr to follow people on because, well, I always saw this place as a safe haven, with all the fandoms and all and I love it but now, 90% of everyone I follow will probably be banned for no reason at all and I hope for dear God you won't be one of them.

I hope it’s not super scary that everyone’s posting social media everywhere. I think a lot of us artists are seeing people we look up to leaving or fans leaving and we’re like “WAIT BEFORE YOU GO CAN WE STILL KEEP IN TOUCH!?” kinda thing. It’s like the end of the year at school and you’re trying to get email addresses of your friends before they leave to another country. And a lot of artists I’ve seen are still planning on hanging around until the ban date. I wanna stay and have a huge laugh if I get banned. It’s just really funny overall to me and if tumblr wants to ban me for my artwork, then maybe tumblr and I just don’t agree on what we think is right and safe (I mean the team thought that banning people’s artwork with an AI was much more smarter than using the same AI to find hate work. Just a thought.). And I don’t wanna waste time fighting with tumblr on moral beliefs because it’s less time to draw stuff I enjoy, so I’ll just head over to another platform and just have more fun drawing.

Though I do agree that losing a safe haven in the day and age of internet where everything you do can be seen is a bit of a scary thing. I hope that in the case tumblr does continue with this strict ban where even silly doodles get counted as sensitive imagery, that maybe some artists you like will introduce you to new platforms! I’ve had an artist friend introduce me to Discord as I sometimes felt unsafe posting specific opinionated fanart and it’s been a huge help as I can do cool down doodles as much as I like without worrying about forcing things into peoples’ faces since the people who are there want to be there and can leave whenever they want if they feel uncomfortable. The moment I get worried about forcing things at people, I suddenly get really scared of drawing. So it’s been a huge help. It makes me consider moving to Discord or something for normal fanart too but I’ll have to figure that out as it’s inaccessible to people outside of the server without an invite link.

I usually don’t really like to post my opinions, but there is one thing that has been irking me about the AI running around and flagging artwork. I follow some master painter accounts that post artworks of famous artists throughout history for educational purposes. And a lot of those accounts got flagged for the content that they were posting. There are also veteran animation people I look up to and follow who got flagged, and they post their artwork (FOR FREE) to show the public, and this is actually super helpful for students who are trying to figure out how to draw or figure out what is “Industry Standard” when NDA agreements actually make studio/industry artwork inaccessible for students. The fact that tumblr’s team that was taking care of the AI was not able to teach the AI what art was actually educational or had historical significance is a huge sign to me that this platform isn’t really trustworthy for art people. (Seriously, I’m not super versed in AI stuff, but couldn’t there have been a list of paintings you feed to the AI and go, “Don’t censor these pieces buddy. They’re significant in history.” Also, the censorship rules are unclear which is unfair to people posting art. I still don’t know what gets posts flagged and what doesn’t. And this feels like playing a game without knowing the rules. Which then feels like a waste of time.

But yeah, enough about my opinions, and I hope that things end up working out on your side. And I hope that you’ll be able to find a new platform to have fun on and feel safe! (History has always had a censorship problem every decade or so and artists have been smart and found different ways to get around being censored so I bet something interesting is bound to come up.) I think that’s the most important thing about the internet. While it’s a place for doing anything you want, the most important thing is to be able to feel safe to do things. Stay safe, take good care of yourself, and here’s a smiling Wendy (an OC of mine) just to make this post happy and possibly get this post flagged. XD
