I am noting that the overwhelming majority of the many large, robust, centuries-old Jewish communities in Massachusetts are conspicuously left off JVP's list.

I wonder if maybe, just maybe, Bostonian Jews tend to be suspicious of a group that's closely aligned to BDS, famous for terrorizing Jewish preschoolers and the elderly with their antisemitic, violence-mongering "mapping project".

Anyway, when none of the biggest communities in the state will give you the time of day and you have to prop up fringes because they're the only ones who will let you tokenize them...maybe you've lost the plot.

I try to truly believe “a Jew is a Jew is a Jew”, but some of these converts are making it difficult post-Oct. 7th.

#antisemitism #I too try not to accuse others of being Bad Jews #but also like #you don't get to call yourself cherokee because your fifth-great-grandparent was a sixteenth diné and you like burning sage #and cultural appropriation doesn't suddenly stop counting when it's Jews being appropriated from #this whole issue is complex basically but yeah I think #if you start converting from a position of antizionism #you need to examine why you're here and if your desire is sincere #or if you're just seeking approval from your pal-anon social group and the clout they give you for saying As A Jew before your antisemitism #just to be clear I have reeeeeally mixed feelings about this #because policing blood quantum shit is wrong #and also there are bad faith actors and racefakers in the world #AND ALSO if you are converting from a place of antizionism BEFORE a place of love for Jewishness and a desire to become Jewish #I will not tell you that you're not allowed to convert but I do think you need to wrestle with the question of why #and if you come out of that with a greater understanding of yourself and jewishness and you still feel it's right for you great #but opting out of the hard questions isn't going to serve you going forward #AND ALSO don't harass converts because it's fucked up to make that accusation #AND ALSO that doesn't mean everyone is sincere #AND ALSO we should still extend the benefit of the doubt #if for no other reason than to afford the other person dignity #because being a shit person doesn't mean you're suddenly no longer entitled to human dignity #and idk basically I get why this post was made #I also get why it pisses people off #and like always I'm in the camp where most people hate me because I can see validity to both pissed-off sides' anger #and I still think it's weird that JVP ignored the vast majority of Jewish communities in the GBE
