shipping as an aroace person is interesting because I do have ships and I want to write things for them but at the same time, I am never that invested in a ship enough that whatever story I write couldn't be told with absolutely no shipping content. Which means I usually have to make the very conscious decision whether or not I want to include the pairing as a ship or as friends, and you can probably guess which one usually wins

#part of it is my supreme Not Getting It when it comes to romance and shipping #some of it is that I only have a very few select ships and even THOSE I would never focus on the romance of it all over the friendship of i #some of it is also fear of being seen as a hypocrite I think #because I've been pretty vocal about how much the romance focus in fandom bugs me #and writing ship content doesn't take away from that obviously but I do not have the energy to defend the nuance of the human experience #to strangers on the internet rn #who don't know that two things can be true at once
