Tom convinces the others to get adjacent quarters so they can have more space by adding doors connecting all of their quarters and having a single dedicated dining space.

This works out great until Harry and B'Elanna come back from an away mission to find Tom has not only replaced 1/3 of their shared living quarters with a roller rink, he's also replaced their separate sleeping areas with a single giant bed.

my vision for tpk babytrap drama starts out with b’elanna and tom being officially together (though just as messy as in canon) while also hooking up with harry in a weird codependent situationship type deal. then b’elanna gets pregnant and it turns out it’s harry’s (cue really awkward scene where the doctor has to convey this information to b’elanna not knowing that she and tom and harry are all having sex with each other) but she and tom are super excited about this because they’re freaks and think that maybe this is what will finally get harry to commit to them instead of just being their codependent best friend they also have sex with all the time. but harry’s like “no child of mine will grow up on voyager” and starts engaging in even more suicidal risk-taking behaviour to get them home because he’s also a freak. which tom and b’elanna interpret as him preferring death to them which means all their deepest fears are real and he really is the untouchable golden boy who they can never truly have and it all spirals out of control from there
