i tried to rewatch the 2012 movie version of red and black to see if i was judging the transition bit too hard and i couldn't even make it 10 seconds in bc they cut "for the army we fight is a dangerous foe . . ."

#les mis #novapost #im actually mad what's the point #it sounds so awkward #same goes for the ending i get why they moved dyhtps but then all of the momentum from the end of red and black goes nowhere #bc they don't bother taking that energy anywhere they just stop and have eponine pull marius aside #and it's too jarring. what the fuck is this.#there was a reason all the songs were in that order if you change the order you better find a way to make sure it still flows smoothly #which tom hooper did not #and then the cuts??? what's the point of having les amis if you're gonna have them do less in the film than on stage #it's also like if we can insert scenes from the brick we can give les amis their personalities back
