you know i am actually not used to drawing clothed bodies. because in my figure drawing class (as in a lot of drawing classes) our live models were nude because that's a standard for beginners. u have to understand the basic form, u know, before u go drawing things on top of it. like how it's easier to draw a blank table than one that's all set for a banquet over a tablecloth. and since i finished that class i hardly ever draw anything other than portraits focused on the face. like i drew myself today wearing pants and everything and that's gotta be a first.
#tales from diana#every portrait i've drawn of myself from the shoulders up just assume i'm not wearing pants#it'd be funny#u can always tell on the portraits ive posted on here that im way more interested in drawing faces than shirt collars and stuff looool#i know what i'm interested in. the best bit#i also hadn't really drawn a body in the longest time like damn#and that's MOST of what figure drawing was about. bodies#bc that's. that's most of what FIGURES are. body ody ody ody ody ody odies#it's what i'd spend the majority of class sessions focused on. i was usually lucky if i could get to detailing the face#i feel like i've still managed to improve at drawing since taking that class but then again i've really only drawn faces#which was less of the focus of that class. so. hm#but to be fair i drew some pretty unflattering faces in that time#if i were to draw a human figure in detail now would i still not be able to finish in 2 and a half hours?#the world may never know! i loved that class though it was so enlightening
