Tying Loose Ends
Once again, I’d like to thank everyone who made me a Sim for this BC. As always, you’re what really made this BC possible. Also, condolences to everyone who lost a Sim in this BC. Extra condolences to @mercurypixels, whose sim ended up being the goddamn murderer (though I didn’t put Asha through quite as much hell as I put Caesar through, so there’s that). Finally, special thanks and congratulations to @socialjusticesimblr! (Even if Cordelia wasn’t really supposed to win... she did! Congratulations!)
Again, as I always say in the end, thank you as well to everyone (with or without a Sim in this) who supported me along the way in one way or another. To everyone who liked and replied to my posts. To all the Twitter mutuals who tweeted about this BC and made me feel more important than I really am. Thank you all.
Like most of my projects, doing this BC was a bumpy ride at times. The fact that the file kept crashing at the start, the fact that the file got corrupted once, school taking a higher priority than this BC and causing delays, et cetera. (This BC really taught me that my mostly-real-time storytelling thing + keeping up with school = unnecessary extra stress, and that it’s best to do BCs when you’re not in school.) And I can’t help but feel like I over-hyped the whole thing, considering how this was actually the first BC I wanted to do (and Missy was the first Sim I ever made for this blog) and how Rosenberg and Camisade were both meant as warm-ups for this. But, still, it was a rewarding experience overall. I’d probably edit the hell out of this BC (and my other two, for that matter) if I had the chance to, but I’m still happy with it. And support from all of you made it even more worth it.
Some other things, like fun facts and the like:
Way before I actually started doing it, I had more ambitious plans for Collins MMBC. (That’s why I needed Camisade MMBC as a warm-up. I wanted a more “normal” MMBC.) Mainly, there were going to be two murderers: one who came up with the idea on their own (...well, from knowing about MMBCs beforehand) and was just trying to get to Missy, and one who was forced to do it by Cheyenne. I had all these complicated rules on how I was gonna do it. (I also considered having Ian be the third murderer. The Dice decided against it when I asked them back in November 2015, and TBH, I probably would’ve decided against it anyway. He’s a good boy.)
The reason I was originally going to ask for even more contestants than I did was because (besides the first, which was going to be a single murder from Cheyenne’s murderer regardless) each death had a 1 in 3 chance to be a double murder, one victim from each killer.
I was also originally going to have there be a chance, regardless of who wins, of a Very Bad Ending in which Cheyenne does succeed in getting Missy back, but like... nooooooooooo...
What happens after that... I never really decided. Is that just the end of Missy’s story? Does she reunite with the winner? Guess we’ll never know!
I ditched these plans because I still wasn’t totally sure how I was going to do it 100% fairly, and I was running out of time before I wanted to start Collins MMBC. And I couldn’t really consult anybody for advice on it, because... everyone I might’ve asked is my audience, and I didn’t plan on revealing the Two Murderers thing until later on.
Speaking of Bad Endings, I had plans for if Asha won that were... pretty grim. For one, Ian would’ve been the only survivor. (If anyone asks, I’ll tell what my full plans were.)
I never answered anything about the cats, but the cats aren’t going away any time soon, either. Trust me. They will be back.
Yeah, the Interlude was thought up at the last minute because doing Fun IRL Stuff without a queue makes me uncomfortable.
The three things I learned from this BC:
As mentioned earlier, BCs work best when you’re not currently in school. Especially if you do the real-time thing.
If your bacheloret isn’t somewhere in their early 20s, be sure to say that, or your bacheloret’s contestants will all be in their early 20s.
(It could be worse, I guess. Missy’s just in her late 20s. Her very late 20s.)
(Wish her a happy 30th on August 25th!)
Do BCs in small worlds. Autonomy is better, though I’m not 100% sure why.
I eventually plan to release a pose pack of all the poses I made for this BC, but... because there’s so many, I’m wondering... would it be better to release them in smaller pieces (like, by episode), or all together like I did with the Camisade pose pack?
Hey, Cordelia’s another C-name winner! (I mean. For now, at least.)
There will still be no Collins legacy or anything, but you’ll still hear from Missy and Cordelia again. (Not sure how at this point, but you will.)
...And that’s the end. (For the most part--there’s still an epilogue tomorrow, and this isn’t even the end of the queue.) Thank you again for your support.
