7 Things I don't Want to See in Avengers 4
The following are my personal opinions, no one needs to agree with every point. This is my personal list of things I don't want to see in A4.
1. A Big Time Jump
I hate big time jumps between stories that flow into each other. There's been some speculation that A4 might begin 5 years after Infinity War and I think that's just too much time between the films. I think making a 5 year gap exist between Infinity war and A4 could easily lead to plotholes with regards to what all the characters have been up to within that time. Another problem with creating such a madsive time jump is the characters maybe spread out in different locations trying to process their grief and the first 20 minutes or so of the movie might be wasted on explaining where the characters are and what they've been up on all this time. If A4 picks up a few months after Infinity War, the surviving characters are more likely to still be a cohesive unit and no time will have to be wasted in tracking them down.
2. Overly Complicated Time Travel Plot
At this point, a time travel plot is all but assured in A4. I love time travel plots, they're always so fun to watch. I just hope the time travel plot in A4 won't be unnecessarily complicated. An easy way to achieve this is to ensure the tine travel plot doesn't take up too much time, if it is required for retrieving an object, it should be done quickly and the rest of the movie should continue in the present.
3. Peturi Never Meet
Peter Parker and Shuri (Peturi) are the new science bros and I really want them to interact. They're the youngest characters that'll appear in A4 so I just really need them to take down some villains together and I feel like there's a chance that'll never happen since they spent Infinty war in separate planets. I just really hope they get to spend some time together when the Avengers undo Thanos' snapture.
4. Shuri doesn't get to be Black Panther
When T'Challa turned to dust, I didn't freak out bc I knew he would come back and also bc Shuri would finally have a chance to run Wakanda in his absence. With all the purple herbs destroyed she won't be able to fully take on the role but I want her to at least take the title and protect Wakanda till T'Challa gets back. I just hope Marvel doesn't waste this golden opportunity.
4. Captain Marvel gets too much screen time
When initial reports circulated about Captain Marvel making an appearance in A4, I thought she would make a quick cameo and be absent for the rest of the movie but now that Captain Marvel has been named the most powerful character in the MCU, I feel like she's going to get a large amount of screen time. I really don't want that. A4 should be focused on the original members of the team and they have to be the ones to take down Thanos during the pivotal moments of the movie.
5. Hawkeye doesn't get enough screentime
There has been news about Hawkeye getting more screentime in A4 but I sort of don't believe this will be the case bc the movie is going to be.more packed with more characters than Infinity War and let's face it, Hawkeye just doesn't have the skill set that can really help with taking down Thanos. Inspite of this, I hope the Russo brothers find a way to fully utilize him instead of leaving him by the sidelines again.
6. The Infinity Stones don't get destroyed
At the end of A4, I really hope the Avengers find a way to destroy the Inginity stones. I read an article which stated that the Infinity Stones were not destroyed in the comics, instead they were spread across the universe snd different heroes were tasked with watching them. I think everything about the Infinity stones should be destroyed instead of teasing some sort of spin off storyline with them. Once the fox buyout is complete, the MCU will have more stories than it can imagine bc they'll have to introduce the x-men and fantastic four and they'll won't need to rely on going back to making movies about the infinity stones falling into the wrong hands.
7. The death of Captain America
Whille I was watching Infinity War, I had to brace myself in preparation for the death of Captain America. Since he didn't die in Infinity War, I have a strong feeling he might die in A4 and the more I think about it, the less I'm ready to see it. I really hope they surprise us and don't kiĺl him off even though Chris Evans has already given an emotional farewell to the character. Maybe he should just retire or get stuck in another dimension. If he has to die I'm going to look away during the entire scene, I just don't think I can watch him die. It'll be too heartbreaking 😭😭😭
