for me specifically that post resonates bc like. i will always take care of my loved ones. doesn't matter the circumstances or what they do. but it's really fucking annoying sometimes, especially when the person you're trying to take care of is doing everything they can to make it difficult for you.

and even beyond that, being a healthcare worker, i will always take care of my patients. even if they're mean or difficult, if they need care, i will provide it but i obviously don't like getting literally beat up

love that post that's like "i'll take care of you, but it's rotten work, especially if it's you. i'll do it but jesus christ dude"

#personal #the only time i won't take care of patients is if they are in their right mind and are able to do things for themselves #and yet are still being rude to their care team like bro. what the fuck.#bc like most of the time when patients are difficult it's bc they're not in thei right mind so it's fine #like you can't take it personally #or if someone is in their right mind but they literally are unable to move like. i'm not just gonna let you lay in shit #even if you're being a real asshole #but there is a small amount of patients who are both in their right mind and for the most part can take care of themselves #and yet they'll be assholes. like that lady who yelled about our water tasting nasty and got angry we wouldn't make her tea with water from-#-her water bottle. like honestly? if you'd asked nicely? we probably would have taken that water poured it into a cup and microwaved #but not if you call us a bunch of insults for being too dumb to microwave water #like i've even gone downstairs to the cafeteria to buy a fountain soda for a patient who wanted something besides ginger ale #which is the only soda we keep stocked in our fridge on the unit #bc he was a nice man who was stuck in the hospital sick and couldn't even a coke #and i felt for him #literally just don't be rude it's so simple
