me as i first watch tdp: oh that would make a good idea to explore in a fanfic i wonder if anyone’s made it *hopes that it’s a popular trope*
me, hours later as i scroll through ao3: oh god. i’m going to have to write it myself aren’t it? goddamn it.
#shut up danni#tdp#look#when i first get into a series my first thought is trying to figure out what's gonna be the fandom trope in fanfics#and i'd thought hey this idea might have been explored once or twice#but nope!#so i guess it's up to me even though i have literally zero experience w writing for this fandom :|#so the logical thing to tackle that is:#write smth else to get warmed up to the fandom#which as you can very easily tell is a very slippery slope#so anyway i just wrote 2.5k words of mute callum au#not the au i originally thought of but the au that i'd be more interested in exploring#considering my familiarity w mute aus and excitement for them compared to my previous idea#that i haven't seen done yet so i won't even hint at it#idk if i'll ever post this first fic as it is anyways lmao#i'd LIKE for it to be p short and mostly just cover canon so far and it probs won't go into further on#bc as exampled in amaya canon wouldn't be effected much as the whole getting used to it part#anyways#i'll stop talking abt it now but if im right i might have just finished chapter one???#might post it here later on if i need some encouragement bc while its not quite ao3 worthy it's probably tumblr worthy#there's sort of a distinction bc my tumblr is a mess and yet my ao3 is where i put my mostly polished stuff#here i can just copy/paste barely edited shit and that's good enough to satisfy me over r editing it for ao3
